How was your 5:2 day today?
Globetrotter replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have a Dr.'s appt tomorrow, so perhaps we shall see what is up. I may have been constipated from a case of severe dehydration, and my labs came back from the ER visit and indicate probably anemia. I feel ill after I eat anything and my acid doesn't seem to go away, regardless of my antacid use, and now I have diarrhea (sorry TMI). A lazy Dr will just use the catch-all of IBS, but that solves nothing.... Good news is that I did not gain any weight while in Italy. Disappointing news is that during all of this non eating I haven't lost any weight I know I am in a severe depression, despite being on the highest dose of antidepressants ever. I see no point in anything, feel no joy, have zero desire, and find no worth in myself. -
I woke from my Sleeve anesthesia 5days ago with blood in my nose and thick blood running down my throat. I was nauseated and in pain...but eventually by evening that wore of some. But, swallowing (aside from the usual first swallows post Sleeve), was beyond excruciating! I then I looked back there in the mirror to see my throat it looked like something from a horror scene. And it hurts like crazy too! So aggravated, I've never seen my throat look like that. Beyond even a Strep Throat swallow. My surgeon even took a picture of it to show to the Anesthesiologist, who I know has over 30 years experience so what's the deal? Needless to say, the liquid Hydrocodone has been nightmarish to take, just burns like crazy. And whats more, I have a constant feeling like something is stuck in there when I swallow. Like a piece of throat is flailing in there (sorry, I know TMI), but I really wanted to know if anyone experienced this, and how it was resolved. It is interfering with my Fluid intake, which is already a challenge. My surgeon said it will probably resolve, but gave me some ENT numbers just in case. Was wondering if anyone experienced same and how you dealt with it. Your responses will be so appreciated at this unsettling time :/

@@sarahbethemails Rice was not on my plan. Carbs were limited until I lost 75% of my weight.. I'm in maintenance. Rice seems to bloat me up. (TMI) I love California rolls. In a food processor i mixed crab meat, carrot cucumber and cilantro. To a chunky consistency, I mixed olive oil mayo to create a salad. I stuff it in a small avocado. its not shashimi. but I love sushi.

Last night I had some serious cramps and was sure I needed to have a BM. But nothing. But while I was straining (sorry TMI) sitting there, I got a slimy feeling in my throat like I was going to hurl, but no go there too. It all went away after about twenty minutes. Did you get that slimy feeling anytime?

@@laguerr13 It is amazing how everyone's surgery program is different. After my surgery I was told I could have fruit juice (Apple Juice and Cranberry) they even gave it to me in the hospital however, I had to dilute it with Water.(I am 7 weeks out). So at the time, I would do 2-6oz of juice and dilute the other 1/2 with water and I was fine. I also had juice during my liquid stage diluted with water so that your not consuming so much sugar. Now I am 7 weeks out my NUT said that it was ok to have 4 oz of juice if I wanted before Breakfast but just not consume it everyday. You mentioned "feeling regular" did you know that benefiber has packs made for water bottles? I add crystal light and benefiber to my water daily and it keeps me regular(TMI I know but trying to help). Thanks!

Ok, TMI but had anyone else experienced a change in their body odor? I've never had an issue before but now if i skip a day while recovering i smell like a stranger it so bad. My husband and i had a good laugh the other night. I told him "noone warned me I'd smell" he cracked up laughing and said "oh, THAT would have been your deal breaker lol"

**TMI Disclaimer** My VSG surgery is 4 weeks away. According to my calendar and what my body is going through now, my expected menstrual cycle should happen on or before the day of surgery---and I JUST realized this today. It's been messing with my head all day because I want to have this surgery done so bad but I feel like I need to reschedule... my flow is pretty heavy and I just think it would be so messy to deal with on top of having surgery. I shed a tear or two talking to my husband about it because it's embarrassing to even think about...my surgeon is a male and I would hate for him or anyone to know that I'm having my period. My husband told me I was silly for thinking such a thing and told me to go through with having the surgery. He really hurt my feelings. I don't know, maybe I am thinking too much or a little emotional right now about it. I am so embarrassed and don't know what to do ....help...

FYI: I'm also doing this so I can get to goal and get a TT, breast lift and Implants. Let's just be real, these things are necessary in my life! They aren't going to magically fix themselves. I'm scared of the TT but it must be done! Is that TMI?! Oh well your all going to hear about it later anyway! -
Sleeved on the 19th. Going through mood swings here and there. TMI: I poop twice a day. Not sure why it happens so often but it does!

I have IBS & shockingly since surgery I have thankfully been doing okay. But the past couple days I had a quest bar each day & wow my stomach has been not happy! IBS issues all day. Sorry if TMI. So, has anyone else had tummy issues after eating Quest bars or had it upset their IBS if you have it?

I had a LRNY GB on 05OCT2015. So as of today I am 22 days post. Down 32 pounds by my scale since the day of surgery, things were going really well until the end of last week. I weighed in on Friday as I always do, was down another 8 pounds and was happy. Then..... I gained a pound. Then another. As of this morning I am .8 lbs below last Friday's weigh in, but here is the thing: I was walking 5.21 miles every morning. (my body decided it likes the Military routine, so I have been getting up at 0400, not by choice) I eat < 800 calories a day. I consume > 100 grams of medical grade Protein (Unjury) daily I take in somewhere between 70-100 oz of Water a day. I usually have a Protein shake in the am prior to my walk For lunch it's another shake or perhaps a yogurt. dinner, well, it was shakes until last week, I had Ricotta bake twice, and have been eating refried Beans and cheese for the past two nights. I upped my am walk from 5.21 miles to 6.75 miles as 5.21 was just too easy, I had it down to a little over 1.5 hours and my heart rate was not high enough for long enough, by tacking on another trail (lots of hills!), before 10:00 I have 16K steps, 140 highly active minutes, about 7 miles traveled, 15 or so flights of stairs (I told you lots of hills on the new trail). By days, end I have burned no less than 4000 calories. HOW CAN I NOT BE LOSING WEIGHT? 4000 calories out, 800 in, is a 3200 calorie deficit, that's 1 pound a day. I don't get it, and I am starting to get really put out by this. So what is going on? Any advice before I go postal and adopt an Ethiopian diet of 200 calories a day and go into open revolt against my body? One (bordering on TMI) caveat, I am not having a daily BM or even every other day, I went from volcano ass, to solid BM's, but they have all but stopped, last one was 2 or 3 days ago. Back on Miralax this morning, I gotta get regular.

I'm 12 days post op and the last 3 protein shakes (premier chocolate and Adkins cookies and cream have given me diarrhea. There's really no sugar in there just wondering what it could be? The isopure drinks don't have that affect. It didn't happen early on either just recently. Am I alone?

3 days after surgery (Oct 21) and so much gas!
1000000 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi everyone! I just got the sleeve done 3 days ago, and I am struggling. I'm in so much pain, because of the gas stuck in my stomach area. I've talked to a few people about the recovery but they all say it wasn't too painful and a fast recovery. I'm feeling in the odds because of this. I'm almost starting to feel a little regretful. I just got really hungry today, but my body doesn't too well with liquids, so I'm drinking maybe 2-4oz of apple juice a day. I just got discharged from the hospital for the first day, so I feel more comfortable that I'm home now. Also, this might be a little bit of a TMI, but I woke up to having my period after surgery. The nurses joked with me saying, "boy, when it rains, it sure does pour, huh?" -
I am 5 months out and within the last week I developed a pain in my upper stomach and today I started pooping blood. It is bright red and not sure what it means! Any help would be appreciated!

Does anyone have issues with the meal replacements
PaulaWodzisz replied to Anxious2beme's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am guessing it is your body adjusting to the change in diet. You are getting a lot more of your nutrition through fluids than you probably were before. I had the same thing on the liquid diet (which seems to last forever). I am just now starting to get my system somewhat back to where it was, but my poop is still not as solid as it used to be (TMI I know). Good luck to you. -
Anyone having surgery in Oct ?
SleeveandRNYchica replied to Jenaenae84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be released from the hospital today. Yesterday was a bit rough. Today I am feeling much better. I have been walking and sipping. It is hard because I am just not interested in anything right now They were unsure how long my surgery would be since I am a revision patient. They said I did not have a lot of scar tissue. My doctor said I would be more sore than normal because they used some of the same entry points. As I was typing I passed GAS! I know tmi! I had a hard time going pee and was dehydrated yesterday. They fixed all that. I didn't eat much for my first meal yesterday and so they left the other stuff if I wanted to eat it. That did not happen. -
@@glitter eyes Thank you! It hurts! I don't know if there's some trick to it or what? The only time I ever wear them before was for "dress up" wink, with a side of TMI lol! This leaving the house in them is dangerous stuff still.

Surgery day!
thisfathasgot2go replied to pr_pitbullgrl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@pr_pitbullgrl Yummy. Sounds so good. I had to run to the restroom for a runny stool (its after your lunch right, sorry TMI). Not sure if it is related to the food or just residual from my Smooth Move tea from last night. I have my son's football game to go to at 3PM, and then I have Parent-Teacher conferences, so I am trying to make sure my body is ok to go out and not be next to a toilet. -
The view from 'down there' (a ladies room post)
gowalking replied to dhrguru's topic in The Gals' Room
OK...this is probably TMI, but since we're already TMI, you might find this amusing. My BF has his own term for 'going to lady town'. He calls it 'praying at the temple'. I'm sorry if some think this is sacrilegious, but I find that I like that he calls it that. It's just another way to reach euphoria in my opinion. -
First, I am calling my general practioner today so I am seeking medical help. I just would like to know how common this is and if anyone has been there, done that. My surgery was 22 days ago. I was able to go to the restroom without any assistance on day 3. Since then, my body has given me no urge to go. Last Tuesday, I called my bariatric surgeon hoping go get some prescription laxatives, as milk of magnesia did not help. They told me they don't prescribe laxatives, but to go to the ER if I hadn't gone by Thursday and ask them to look for a blockage. Thursday came and no oral laxatives had worked. I used a Ducalax suppository and nothing. I used one more and got some relief, but there was not the amount I would have expected. Gross, I know, sorry. Sunday night, I used another Ducalax suppository and was able to go a tiny amount. I can pass gas but have no urge to go without assistance. Oral laxatives don't seem to do much but cause cramping. My husband wonders if it's perhaps normal and I am not pooping a lot because my input is so much lower and my body is using all that I take in as fuel? My weight loss is only 10 lbs in three weeks so I'm wondering if I'm not literally full of it. When I go to the dr, If they look for a blockage, is that via X-ray? This part is so not fun.
