    TLC Edge Dr's...

Dianne, Pat (ALL TLC Edge patients).....How are things going? Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing and if you need any help or support. I can't belive my surgery was 5 months ago:) It feels SOOOOO good to be banded and to have come this far in 5 short months!! Since my last fill (my 3rd) on May 1st, I have lost 13 lbs.....almost to my 1/2 way total goal!! My NSV has been to play with my kids at our neighborhood pool without feeling so self conscious wearing a bathing suit. Last summer, I think I went to the pool maybe 5 times....I wanted to hide under water! Please send a quick HI and let me know how you are doing:) ~all the best~ Stacey

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Wow Kerri, you look great! I love the bathing suit! What a great NSV. You actually reminded me that I did wear a bathing suit on my vacation a week ago. It is funny, but I don't think I have even worn a bathing suit for a few years! Fenton, I just love your posts, you crack me up! You did mention the snow board thing before. It was obvious that you were passionate about it. How absolutely wonderful to get a custom board. I know you will be in twounderland by the time you can use it! Well, I am drinking crystal light, waiting for the storm. I absolutely love storms. All that power and the light show......wonderful!

I LOVE Kayaking!!! It really is fun, although it usually involves more beer and sandbars than actual kayaking for me. congrats on going with a shirt and shorts! That is a major NSV. I shed the shirt this weekend but kept the shorts!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I had sort of an NSV this weekend... I WAS out getting active, and kayaked 7.5 miles of beautiful river near my house.. But that's not the NSV.. For my birthday my Mom bought me a new bathing suit that I had fallen in love with. I haven't been comfortable in a bathing suit in years, but once I tried this particular suit on, I knew it was "the one". I have always worn a t-shirt and shorts over my bathing suit, but still felt like crawling under a rock in public.. I decided it was time to change that. Since this time last year, I am down 51lbs, and I am determined to change my ways. So- This weekend while out with my peeps kayaking, I decided to leave the t-shirt and shorts behind. And I wore JUST my new suit... confidently! I felt totally empowered by this! I also wanted to share a couple of pics.. Hope you enjoy! ~Kerri Me: The crystal clear water:) Some of the peeps:

    Non-Scale Victories!!

Way to go everyone on your NSVs! I just came back from a vacation and I had so many. To start, I was comfortable (as much as one could be) in the airplane seat. I had room to spare in the seat, the seat belt fit without a question, the tray table was no where near my stomach and I could actually cross my legs while sitting too! I got so many complements from people who I haven't seen in a year and a half and 115lbs ago! I went hiking with my friends and I had the most energy out of all of them. Everyone used to have to wait for me to catch my breath going up the hill, but this time it was me who was waiting for my friends to catch their breaths! I did so much walking on my trip and I wouldn't have been willing to do all that walking when I weighed a lot more.

    Non-Scale Victories!!

I found a big box of clothes yesterday that I haven't fit into in about 3 years. I tried them all on and Guess what....they FIT! Yay! That is one of the best NSVs I have had so far. ~Amy

GOOD MORNING GANG I AM BACK............................ 800 miles between Friday and Sunday ... Good to see my Sister and my neices & nephews - I hadn't been up north for a couple of yrs (my sis was here last nov) they where shocked about my weight loss and I guess it's showing in a pic that I will post in a bit from my GD graducation - you will get to seen my 2 gk & son I went to the gym friday before I left then gs and i went to the mall and he gave me a great NSV - when we use to go to the mall he would be 10 steps a head of me - well on friday he said LaLa why are you running (walking so fast really) as I was a head of him - I said I am just walking.... Then we went to target and I didn't look for a parking space close to the store - took the first one I saw - he said - you really have changed:biggrin: At my sisters on Saturday morning I did one mile with my BIL - an ok speed then I did 2 more miles at a very good speed by myself. Hope all that countered the 2 1/2 cookie and wine I had  Yes you guys were quite - I remember looking at page 700 when i posted on Friday - so that I would know what page I had to go back to - well 701 -- I wanted to sleep in but dogs had me up at 7 - which is better than 5 - well woke me up at 5 put took Angel potty and went back to bed. I think I need to go do my 3 miles this morning since I am off and then I meet my training partner at 5 - my trainer is gone this week so it's just us girls  I am going to go see if I can post the pic - it's been a while since I have done it... Share your NSV's

This is a NSV about the scales. This morning DH weighed 183.8 and I weighed 183.0. WOOHOO!!!!! I haven't weighed less than him in about 16 years. Man that feels good. He is 5 inches taller than me, but we are not counting that.
  11. I am so happy! I went shopping with DH on Saturday - he actually came without complaint. I hadn't been to Kohl's yet and was in search of some shorts. I bought a skort in a 16 - Misses! It wasn't 16W or in the "women's section". I'm on cloud nine! Oh, I also bought a dress from Cato's in a 16 misses. I'm so excited to be out of the Plus Stores...I haven't shopped in misses since college.
  12. :wink2:Tina, YOU GO GIRL!!! I'm so impressed with your attitude! that we could all be so determined, I'm sure you will get there. I don't know if you can get too much, don't think so but never thought of it! why not have one with less mix? or have slimfast or someother kind of shake or fruit smoothie? I'm sure there are other options at this point. you should be on full liquids, which is far more interesting. I think the unjury is 20 grams/serving. I just realized I have a NSV! I just made the 100 lb. total loss! from my high of course, not since the band. But it all counts for me. My honey was just marveling at the changes in my body as we first met 80 lbs. ago! I still can't figure how I snagged her at that wt. 14 years ago.
  13. I've been jogging on my treadmill pretty much every day for the last couple of weeks, of course always taking at least one day off to rest. It was just a couple of weeks ago that I had to take a serious look at what I was eating and how much exercise I was getting. It was at that time I decided I had to get off my butt and get some real exercise. Yesterday, for the first time since starting my journey, I was able to jog the entire way. I do a 30 minute workout that has a warm-up for a couple of minutes and cool down for a couple of minutes with interval hills throughout. I usually have to stop at least once to walk, but yesterday jogged for the entire 25 min. I'll need to up the intensity before long to keep it challenging. I was really excited to be able to do that. It feels so good to be jogging again. I used to love to run and now I'm on my way again. I feel such a sense of accomplishment. I know it doesn't compare to those out there who are doing marathons and such, but it's my victory and I'm going to embrace it. I wore a dress to church today that I couldn't wear before surgery and now it's a little big. I even got several compliments today about how "slim" I am looking. I don't see it, but others must. That's the kind of thing that will keep me going. It drives me to get on the treadmill everyday even though some days I just don't want to. I've also decided every couple of weeks to change up my routine and do something either different or harder. This week I'm going to start lifting weights again. My DH and I have an entire set in the garage that we've both stopped using. It's time to dust them off and get going. I'm dying to go sleeveless. The Texas heat is upon us and it's time to tone up these arms. I want this weight gone. Truth be told, I would really like for it to be gone tomorrow, but I know that's not likely to happen. For now I'm content to use my band as a tool and work my way back to my old self. Whoever that is. I guess we'll just have to wait and see who emerges.

    Desperately seeking some input!!!

I have had the same problem the last 2 months It seems that I am also battling to keep losing the same 5 lbs. in the last 4 months I have lost a about 10 lbs. It can be quite frustrating on the bright side I have gone from a 42 waist to a 38 waist. I started out with a 54 inch waist at this same time last year. I have gone done from size a 3XXX shirts to X shirts. My health has never been better and though it is frustrating I have to rely more on the NSV until my body decides to start losing weight again. The other plus is that by now if I had hit this type of plateau I would have given up and gain 30 lbs by now.

    My Scale Victory Today . . .

Thanks for all the congrats and well wishes. I do have one NSV . . . thank goodness. I have to go to a wedding tonight and I have been putting off buying something to wear because I was dropping weight so quickly. All of my dressy clothes are too autumn-ish, so I headed out to the mall today. Well, instead of buying the 2x dress, I bought the 1x!!!! That was very nice! It should last me a little while if I have anywhere else to go, otherwise . . . who cares??? LOL! So, I put on the spanx to minimize the belly, and surprisingly, it feels really good. I thought it might hurt my surgery areas, but it actually kind of binds everything and decreases the areas where I was feeling just a teency bit uncomfortable. Cool!
  16. This is probably so old hat to those of you that have lost so much . . . but I'm EXCITED today. I am 11 days post-op and between the pre-approval diet, the pre-op diet, and now the post-op diet, I am down 30 pounds today. No, it hasn't been easy. At times, it hasn't even been pretty. Even now, my boobs have taken on a saggy new dimension all their own and I still have a LONGGGGGGGGG way to go . . . . But I'm still excited about -30 pounds!!!!!!! LOL! I am trying to find some NSVs, but right now, they just aren't really there. I'm barely down a size in clothes -- I could go down, but I'm still getting by. My body is a weird shape because of the swollen belly and small boobs, LOL. So, for now, I need to Celebrate my scale victory! Thanks for listening and caring!

    New 60+ Thread

KJillCarr: My mother in laws name was Carr. So glad you have made the decision to have the band and hopefully that slight fever will go away quickly. Are you a type 2 diabetic or insulin dependent. For me and many others, our diabetes is well under control. I no longer am taking 5 metformin a day but am down to one. I am told my Doctor will be taking me off the last one in July. My BP is also well under control. So you have something to look forward to besides weight loss. I think they call it NSV (non scale victories). Have a great journey.

    Non-Scale Victories!!

You guys are doing so well! I've shrunk completely out of most of my bottoms (underwear even fell down once--fortunately I was wearing pants!), so I went shopping last week. I bought all 16Ws! Along with 2 14/16 shirts from LB! I'm not a 16W in everything, and I'm definitely still an 18/20 in most tops, but it's so awesome to be getting into smaller sizes again. Other NSVs: --I took 4 flights last week and had room to spare on the seatbelt on every flight! --I can cross my legs again!! --Everyone keeps asking me if I've changed my hair and telling me it looks great. Thing is, I *have* changed it recently, but I don't think that's the only reason I'm getting compliments. Keep it up, everyone! It's not easy, but it's soooo worth it!

My first NSV! Share yours as they happen!

got a NSV About 12yrs ago i was in my girlfriends wedding. I paid over $300 for this dress, but i didn't mind because it was purple and i was going to get it altered, To wear again. Non-Scale Victories!!

Even though I was only banded 8 days ago, I have had a few NSV's. 1. All the swelling in my legs & feet is GONE! All my sandals are loose now. 2. Most of my clothes are already feeling looser and/or fitting better. 3. My wedding rings are getting loose as well!
