When you mentioned camera and bed & breakfast, my imagination was going in a whole different direction. Sorry things got so complicated for you. But, wow, what an awesome way to react--pounding the pavement instead of throwing ice cream down your throat. NSV extraordinairre!

I got my surgery date scheduled FINALLY!
krazykristen posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After months of battling with my insurance and freaking out because they won't cover any of it, my grandparents are loaning me the money and I got my surgery date scheduled for October 5th! I cannot wait!!! I am so excited to start this new journey in my life and finally be able to live my life and not let my weight keep me from the things I have always wanted to do. One of the NSV I'm looking forward to is being able to shop wherever and maybe wearing a bikini for the first time. AHHHHH Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App -
This is a fun topic! My first NSV was wearing a pair of denim shorts out in public! Never did that before and I am 25 years old!! haha

Great job. What's ur biggest NSV? Sent from my mobile productivity killer. -
Listen people.....I had lost 17 pounds at 6 weeks and I was THRILLED!!! You know why? Because I had LOST SEVENTEEN POUNDS!! And, BTW, that was just the second time I had weighed myself postop. This surgery and lifestyle is for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. Quit trying to make it into a competition sport. Just stick with the basic Protein, Water and Vitamin requirements, eat healthy, be active, enjoy the NSVs and SOTFS!!! (that stands for STAY. OFF. THE. F*****G. scale, but I'm getting sick of saying it so I gave it it's own initials)

My first NSV was when my back stopped hurting after losing the first 15 lbs. I'm now 2 months post op and down 40lbs and today I realized I can cross my legs again. YAY! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can I share something???? One of the NSV for me was, (if you read my posts I am a slow loser) BUT I have more self confidence and self esteem than I ever had had in my life. You maybe can understand when I share with you that I would avoid any situation that involved seeing people that had not seen me in awhile or meeting people for the first time after we had met over the phone etc. because I could see it in their face the (OMG) this person is not who I thought she was over the phone or look how much bigger she has gotten. I will write more later... -
I'm only 2 weeks post-op but my first NSV was pulling out a dress shirt from wayyyy back in my closet (it actually had dust on it, that's how long it's been since I wore it last) and I buttoned it up and it fit. I'm a teacher and one of my many goals is to wear buttoned shirts and ties to school. I never have before because they were uncomfortable and I just didn't like how I looked in them. I've got a month and a half to make it happen! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

January 2013 Bandsters!
gowalking replied to Mimi1980's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Steelerfan. I'm in a similar situation. Lost 23 lbs from pre-op diet to eating mushies...which was 10 days after surgery. Since starting all foods...about 10 days ago, a loss of only 1 lb. I've been following a food plan...around 1,000 calories a day so I know it's not because I'm eating too much, or the wrong foods. I've seen other posts where folks say they have stopped losing, or have even gained. I wouldn't worry about it if you are following a sensible diet. Look for those NSVs instead..are your clothes looser? Can you move easier? I had a great NSV at work last week. Before the holidays, I got a lamp for the desk in my office. I couldn't get under the desk to plug it in...till last week when I could finally bend enough to reach the power strip. Those are the kind of little or big things you look at when the scale isn't moving. -
Sounds like the beautiful comments were code for "you have been losing weight and you look great!" That is a nice compliment and an excellent NSV. Enjoy.

Hi Everyone! It is finally pleasant in NY so my family and I decided to take a trip to the city. While at Central Park I had the best time of my life. I was able to run around with my 6 year old daughter. We climbed rocks, we rode a carousal, and walked a lot! I was not tired and body felt great! It was just excellent. Furthermore, my daughter took a picture of me and when I looked at it I barely recognized myself! What a great, great day! Before and today. 3 and a half months later.

Heyyyyyyyyyy I got a new NSV this morning. I have not been wearing rings but I decided to put on this ring that I could only wear on my ring finger and sometimes that would be tight but I put it on and it was so loose. Without thinking I put it on my middle finger and it went right on. You should have seen the stupid look on my face and I smiled all the way to work see a glimpse of the ring while I drove. :rolleyes:rolleyes: :clap2:

WOO HOO I fit that weight limit now! That in itself is a NSV!!!!! I kinda want the Wii fit also...but It is just so much money. I dont even have a Wii. Geesh Yeah Moxie...I keep lookin at peoples weight when they say how they feel they are huge and they weigh less then I do. lol I know I am big and I know I am losing slow. But I am healthy and I am thrilled with my slow loss and I would be terrified if I dropped super fast. My body needs the adjustment time while it is losing. Or it freaks out and does weird things lol Hang in there!

My NSV is that I at 2 whole pork chops and thought I was going to burst last night. OK no that is not a good one. I wore a pair of 3 inch heels for several hours this week. I have not been able to wear heels since I broke my ankle because there was just too much weight on them. Now that I have lost 71 pounds, my ankle don't hurt with them on.

CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS
higher replied to Tresa Embil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi July Sleevers! I'm down to 146, BMI of 28.5 and still chugging along. I don't even remember surgery and the initial post op stages at this point lol. I can eat whatever I want as well, just small amounts of it and I've become accustomed to focusing on dense protein. I love the newfound energy, the confidence, and all the new clothes. I'm looking to at least another 16 lbs, but I'm also focusing on getting toned. NSVs and good vibes abound. -
Sooooo my muffin top has disappeared in my fave jeans.. I am still preop and on the liver shrink diet.. i can definitely get used to a shrinking waistline
