Cerrin, I know the feeling...I've had dates with two guys in the past month because of my new found confidence. This is so cool! I didn't think of that being an NSV, what was I thinking. My last date prior to this was a blind date 5 years ago.

Thanks!! You're such an inspiration to me! Way to go! Congrats also on your NSV, keep it up! Exercising is the best, and is probably the only reason I'm not GAINING... BTW, its my 2nd short term goal actually... hasn't moved much of late, but only I can fix that... Take care my friend! My word is: Fruits -

Hi all! Sounds like everyone is doing great this week. Congratulations on the NSV's that you all have had this week, as well. I haven't had much of chance to check in but have stayed on plan all week. I went in for a fill today and weighed in at 247...I couldn't believe that I had lost 16lbs in 2 months. Which meant that I did not get a fill today. They felt that I have been losing at a consistent pace and didn't need one. I agree at this point because I still have issues getting things to go down and I didn't want to get to tight. As for eating today...I thought I was getting a fill so I filled my bag with LC SlimFast Shakes and water. B: LC SlimFast Shake S: Water L: McD's Grilled Chicken Ceaser (all chicken and 1/2 salad) S: 2 Tbsp low sugar peanut butter S: Water D: 1/4 Hamburg Patti with Slice of American Cheese, 8 green olives, summer squash & fried onions and mayo. S: Planters Heat Peanuts S: Cashews I did 1 hours of Burn Baby Burn Water Aerobics. Keep up the great work everyone! Cindy

That must have been Amazing! I have to say that I have had to use an extender and it was mortifying. Even though the flight attendant was quiet about it- I felt like everyone knew and I just wanted to crawl up and die... I will be flying in February and will remember your wonderful story! My NSV for the day- I am home today unexpectedly as my girls are sicky poo (little fevers and ear infections) There was nothing for me to eat- so I took out a weight watchers lasagna and was full after eating 1/2 of it!!! I remember when I would eat one and laugh because it felt like I hadn't eaten at all. Then I'd have a salad, then some fruit, & still feel unsatisfied... How insane! See you Sunday!!!

I am quite a bit older than all of you....and been with my DH through every size imaginable....from 135 pounds to almost 300. I just had a Tummy Tuck the end of May, so am just relearning life without the huge hang of skin. They also did the mons lift during the TT. My DH is absolutely floored by how limber I remain. He is thrilled by it---and says so frequently!!! Heck I am amazed the things I can do without that nasty belly!!! The thing I alone truly appreciate NSV wise, is the fact I can sit in a chair---a standard dining room chair, and have room to pull my foot up beside me, and do my own special touches to my pedicure!!! I used to spill over the chair, and had a belly in the way of pulling my foot up. LOVE IT!!! scale Victories, Non Scale Victories---love them all, I feel like I have my life back. It made a difference in my physical shape for sure, but the change in my mental shape is just as dramatic! Kat

wow VK, what an awesome NSV. I just love the way dh looks at me now. My best friend has asked me if it bothers me that he looks at me that way now but not before. She said that he should be that attracted to me whether I am obese or not. I do see her point, but come on, I am not attracted to me when I am heavy and not taking care of myself. He would never have said before that he wasn't attracted to me physically, but now that I have lost weight, I can just tell the difference. It's all in his eyes. He is so proud of me. I am sooo proud of myself. I love that he can't keep his hands off of me.

when did you start solids?
IndioGirl55 replied to lynnie77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try just cutting them up and put in sugar free pudding... I was on 2 blood pressure meds to begin with - one was a sorta big I cut it into 3's and put in my pudding - the other one is tiny tab so had no problem taking that one whole. But great NSV - I no longer take any blood pressure meds  -
My latest NSVs. I bought 2 skirts last night size 18w down from 24/22. I am wearing 1x tops down from 2x. And although it may sound silly, it made me happy. I had to tighten my watch strap 2 notches up from the last one on the end and its loose.

There is no used to about it hunny... those dimples are BACK!!! Real progress... NSV... call it what you want... you are on your way girl!!! I noticed your name is Elena... that is neat ... not a common name.... My daughter is an Elena too -
Thanks, Jack! You know, I have been told a lot lately that I "carry [my weight] well." Translation, most people don't believe me when I tell them I started out over 300 lbs. This kind of NSV makes me feel so fabulous when it's not so obvious that 45 pounds are gone. I can't wait until it's patently obvious that I have dropped all this excess crap! =)

My latest NSV is...one of my favorite shirts from last summer has now become my nightgown! Its hot here in the city and Ive run out of sleep clothes (too hot for laundromat). So either I sleep in the buff and give my neighbors a free show or wear something from my current wardrobe. This shirt was in the "wear" drawer so I put it on. To my delight it is swimming. No free show tonight! I have a sort of weird question for everyone... Now that you've lost weight, do you feel more naked when you are naked? I do.

Hello there! I have a few of NSV. I graduated this June from College with a degree in Accounting..I am starting my internship with Goodwill, went shopping for new clothes for this and went from a size 22 to 16. From January to June. I have had my children contact me (23 yrs) since seeing them since my divorce...I just hope that this year of change for me just keeps getting better....Not just for me but for all of us! Have a great one...

Uplifting and Positive Thoughts ONLY . . .
Oregondaisy replied to SanDiegoPhotog's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went camping over the weekend and ate like there was no tomorrow. I gained 2 lbs and have already lost them! A guy told me I have a nice butt. That was a nice NSV! -
Well, my 2 lb gain from my last appointment with Dr. Cywes was a wake up call for me (not to mention my fill gave me really good restriction). I've made up for my gain and lost another 8 on top of that...can't wait to get back and show him how well I've done. I'm still working on getting in some activity like taking the stairs at work, walking to the grocery store. My big NSV...got into a size 10 yesterday! Whoo Hoo! I don't think I've worn a 10 since...um...uh...since I was 10? Thanks to all of you for your words of support; hope I can pass it along! Sue :wink2:

gingy, I think anything that makes you feel better is an NSV. I would even have to classify the smoking thing up to a SUPER NSV since it will have such a positive impact on your health!!! WTG girl!! WTG all the knockouts!!

Study Suggests Food Tracking = Double Weightloss
FeliciaLevy75 replied to FeliciaLevy75's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You're quite welcome. I was excited to find it. I have believed in the tracking process for a long time now, but only until about June 8 or so (banded May 15) did I really start paying attention. To be fair, that's when I discovered the online calculators (settling on TDP, love it!). I am more diligent about what I eat as I see the numbers computed, I am more careful about dietary boundaries, and I am honest as hell. It has become such a part of my daily routine that, if I am not near a computer, I keep it in a notebook until I can log it online. It's a way for me to see I am doing well even if I fear the scale won't move or I won't experience another NSV for a while. I feel proud when I am within the boundaries my doctor and I set, and I feel empowered by keeping track instead of burdened by counting and worrying and stressing over every bite. -
Hi everyone! Long time, no type. It took a while to catch up. I had an NSV the other day. My ex was talking to one of my neighbors and she asked him if I had lost weight. Since he and I had discussed this recently, he told them yes. They did not know about the surgery, just that I had lost weight! It was a nice feeling that someone had noticed. I honestly think it is because I have some clothes that fit. Another bandster is smaller than I and has given me a ton of her clothes. It is great because I am about 2 sizes larger than her, so as we both loose weight, I am getting a new wardrobe. Congrats all on the losses. You motivate me and keep me coming back!

Refresh my memory: when was your surgery? And how long ago was your fill? Is it too soon or another? My surgery was late July. I had my first fill in early September....well, maybe about the 10th. Then I had a 2nd the beginning of October and a 3rd the end of October. Then I had fairly good restriction. We went south for the winter so I didn't have another for six months. That was April. Good restriction now, but I want another "tweak", so I'm going in next week. Sounds like you need to be a little tighter. This is so much easier when restriction is right. So sorry to hear about your son's home. That's so sad. Did they have flood insurance?? We are making our RV site permanent when we get back in the fall... well, we're taking it on a yearly rental rather than monthly. I guess that's not exactly "permanent", but we want to stay longer next winter and anything more than four months, you may as well go yearly. WA state folks from our RV park in CA had a reunion/picnic yesterday, so I faced a few temptations myself! I had a tiny sliver of cheese cake, a small spoonful of potato salad, among other things I shouldn't have eaten! Good to hear from you. One pound a week is okay! I strive for 5# a month. If I can do that consistently, I'm on track. If not, time for a fill!! That's GREAT NEWS!! Isn't that a wonderful accomplishment! Terrific NSV!! Since surgery almost a year ago, I am down to one cholesterol Rx instead of two and my doctor just cut strength on one of my two BP meds in half. I'm pretty pleased with that, too. Keep in touch, everyone!! We need the support and encouragement we get from one another! Us OLD CHICKS & GUYS have to stick together!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE---HOPE IT IS A WONDERFUL DAY FOR YOU!!!! ENJOY!!! Good morning--well it was a long night. I just come down from up top, and I still have smoldering hot spots. For now the tree seems "out". A couple of strange spots were evident, so I moved the Water hose to those areas. We just don't have enough pressure going uphill to do a lot of good. We are discussing dropping a few hoses into the ditch and trying to get our own syphon going. We used to flood irrigate the yard that way. But the entire ditch bank is black and charred----not thinking it is going to be easy to get up there---it is a pretty steep incline. Purposely so, I mean there is a large fast running canal/ditch up there, we do not want it to be easy access.....So we put in a headgate and run water to the lower sections---which works great on gravity feed....but not so great for this. Considering, if there continue to be hotspots, calling the fire dept. back out for another spray down. They were here til after midnight, I was up til 3. Everytime I would almost relax to sleep, Rick's alarm would go off, and I of course had to go with him, I didn't want him up there alone!!! Behind our property it butts up against the High School Ag building and farm area, and then BLM land. There is a huge hill behind our house, and kids climb it often. The sports teams run it for building endurance---heck I run it daily in high school! It is commonly referred to as football hill because the football team runs it morning and night. The fire marshall thinks the liklihood is that kids were shooting some sort of bottle rocket or aerial display fireworks off of the big hill, and the sparks ignited in several areas of dry cotton. This time of year in areas around here it looks like it is snowing, the cotton blows so heavy. There are female and male cottonwood trees, and the female trees produce huge hanging pods of cotton---it blows all over and irritates the hell out of my allergies to boot! Well cottonwood trees grow along the ditchbank thick. We removed all the producing trees from our place, but there is cotton everywhere anyway. The cotton blows, and of course gathers along tree bases or fence lines--anything that stops it as it blows, and that is exactly where our fires were-------the entire perimeter of the land, all the trees....it just followed the cotton and went crazy. The entire time we are fighting the fire, and the firemen are busting their butts trying to save things you can hear the pop, pop, pop of fireworks in the distance, at the school. They radio'd for a Police officer to cruise the school area. Nothing else was said though. And I have a neighbor down the road with a 13 year old who is into everything, always in the middle of things, and he was conspicuously absent last night while the neighborhood was running around dealing with this. Us and the neighbors on either side of us got the worst of it. But it is sad, not devastating.....We did lose our shed, nothing left but a black blob! So I will call our insurance agent this morning, and have him come take a look....see what we can do. But at least I am calling him from home! I am going to look on the sign at the fire dept. and see when the next Volunteer Firefighter meeting is, I think they meet each Thursday night. I will make something and take to the meeting, and plan to write a thank you letter in our small local paper. I had an NSV in the middle of it all last night---besides actually being able to run---yep RUN up and down the hillside. They had several hoses into the ditch, and these are firehoses--large fabric hoses. They attach pump to the nozzle, and begin a syphon from the ditch. They had a LOT of areas of fire, and only about 8 volunteers here when it first broke out. The one firefighter ask Rick if he could handle the hose, he said yes and took over the big hose spraying down the shed. When the next one began pumping good, he ask the same thing of Spence (neighbor from across the street---being a good neighbor, I owe him too!), so Spence took a hose. The guy started to leave, and I told him I can use a hose on the front---and he told me he didn't think I was quit big enough to handle it!! LOL Of course it was more likely him thinking "this stupid bimbo is up here in flip flops and shorts!" But that is what I was wearing when it happen. My pedicure from yesterday----a total loss. I actually singed my shirt I was wearing! I had to get those clothes we had on out of the hamper, they stunk so badly of smoke---and I saw the edge frayed and the hem singed......and I melted my flip flops!!! Rick 9 days out of 10 will come in, and change into shorts and sandals from his jeans and steel toed boots. But I had dinner ready, and our plan was to go for a ride, so he didn't change! Oh yeah I had another loss......I went to pull the sprinkler off the roof, and when I tried to grab it I broke 3...count 'em 3 fingernails at one time! I'm supposed to go to lunch with Marie, I think we might order in and hang out here so I can keep watch. Well, I cannot stand myself, off to yet another quick shower, the stench of the smoke is killer! Will keep you posted! Thanks for all the well wishes. Nothing of sentimental value was lost. Lots of hard work destroyed.....but hey we needed something to do, right???? Hugs~ Kat

Charlene - Yes - lbt is the greatest - and you are so correct it's what we do with our band - it's all about changing our eating habits & increasing our physical activity... The band really does make the job of controlling our portions easier.. Jb - That was a big fill - suggestion don't go to regular food right away - ease back into to it - have soft mushie foods for your first few meals to see how you tolerate it... Congrats on your NSV !! Denise - I am happy for you and your BF - that you have met someone that you really relate to and like - That's great - I knew that you really wanted to have someone in your life. Welcome Orea - The band is a great tool and yes once you have proper restriction it really does help ... Gd - my bmi was 42 something - 5'4 250 lbs - per the charts I am suppose to weight 145 - I original set my goal at 170 (I got there once on WW and starting weight then was 206 and I had the help of drugs) I figured 170 was a good weight for my age - well got to 190 moved it to 160 - still didn't believe that I would get there - got there on 5/8 and since have lost another 10 - I am striving for the 145 - and I know that I can get there - but truly for my age - I feel fine at 150 'I'm in a 6 - heck my trainer said tonite - oh you are a 4 now aren't you.. - Well ya I would be but the saggy skin issues - Next on the agenda - plastic surgery... I have muscle for the 1st time in my life - you can see it in my legs and arms. Take it slow - make your first goal to get to onelander and the reevaluate it then - you most likely be like me and see that for once in your life - you really can attain your goal.. -

Hi all-- I had a fill 2 weeks ago and only had slight restriction--if any at all. I went in today for fill #2 and was changed from 3.1 to 5.7. The doc said, "You'll feel this!" Uh-oh. I can swallow Water, but let's see what happens when I can eat again on Wednesday evening. Part of me is anxious to have a real change--let's knock this weight off!! Who's with me? PS I went to a singles' dance in the community--got some attention for the first time in a long time. NSV!
