That is probably just nerves. Every one of us was at a minimum apprehensive about it. Think about anything you have done that was difficult, and said, afterwards, oh, that wasn't all that bad. Think about 3 months from now, when you will see results! I personally subscribe to Scarlett O'Hara's thinking--I'll worry about that later, and find something to distract yourself. Don't let the heebie jeebies win!

it could definitely be a stall - mine tended to be more frequent and lasted longer the closer i got to a normal BMI. Every time I'd think "well, i guess this is it...", and then the weight loss would start up again. if you're doesn't in another couple of weeks and you still want to lose more, about the only thing you can do is cut calories (or increase activity - or both).

Hey all, I've been doing great since surgery, (1/20) up until about 2 weeks ago. Everything I eat upsets my stomach. Don't know if there's anybody around thats had this surgery same time when I had it. Just wondering if there is and if you've had any issues. Seems only Nabisco Oyster Crackers is the only thing that doesn't bother me. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I think I'm gonna reset my scale with the cat lol This stall stuff is for the birds!!!! -
I'm a few months in, on my journey. My insurance requires 6-months of nutrition visits. My last visit will be the first week of August. I hope and pray that I'll be able to have the surgery late August or September! I've completed all of my other requirements - psych eval, endoscopy, mammogram.
-
Just getting started on this journey. I had my first appointment with the surgeon and dietitian then found out that with number of visits my insurance requires I needed to make these appointments on different days and not in the same week. Will have to add one more requirement to be in compliance. I am under the BMI of 40 but I have co-morbidities that make me eligible for the surgery. I also have started the nutrition plan and use Isopure Vanilla flavored which is pretty good with fruit or vanilla extract and cinnamon. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

These are the worst garlic prawns ever. Bleack!!! (Not your prawns @kris77, they look delicious.) I usually buy cooked prawns & make a salad but due to poor supplies I have bought garlic raw prawns a couple of time. This week my only choice was this grocery store brand prawns. They were dry, tough & tasteless except for a synthetic chemical taste which I think was from the anti clumping agent they used. They also weigh 30g less than the name brand ones I had bought. Youโre so lucky not to have these in your supermarkets. Iโm going back to making my own garlic ones from raw prawns or just buying plain cooked ones. Iโd bought two packs so these are going in the bin with the ones I prepped yesterday. -
Ok. I had my 4 week check up (via phone call). I told my surgeon that I didn't feel like my weight loss was going good. He agreed that it's not as good as it should be. After talking with him. I realize I'm not getting in my protein. I've been so focused on eating 4oz of protein. I wasn't thinking of getting 60g of protein a day ๐คฆโโ๏ธ What do y'all eat to get the full amount in? The shakes are making me nauseous now. I'm still on soft foods. So stuff like 2 eggs only give me 12g of protein. 4oz Refried beans only give me 6g. Im not sure how to get the protein in with out over eating. This is so confusing to me. Im a picky eater so this makes it even harder for me.

June surgeries? Tell me your preparations
Sunshine Princess replied to Songbyrd420's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I did the following before my pre op officially started: 1. Found a brand of protein shakes i liked-my recommendation is Premier Protein. The chocolate peanut butter is amazing 2. Found a water bottle that i liked and had markings as to how much i needed to drink each hour 3. Practiced sipping water instead of gulping 4. Stocked up on sugar free popsicles. Jello, Gatorade zero flavors that i like 5. Practiced chewing food -
Thank you. I go to my 1 week f/u next week so will ask about this Rx. The milk of mag, also helped a little

I hit 10k steps twice this week. I could not hit that twice a year before surgery. -
After being postponed twice with my surgery due to covid cases, I'm now rescheduled for the 27th of June. Reading all this about the scales and stalling I'm one that weighs herself everyday lol it's good that I've watched this video, such vital information for everyone having this sort of surgery for weight loss, thanks so much for sharing ๐๐๐

Just thought I'd do an update!! My Surgiversary was May 18th - I'm officially 1 year post-op and LOVING IT!! PROs: I can eat literally anything and I love it. Tiny portions were easy to get used to. I wouldn't change a thing. The portion control I used to struggle with is now effortless. It's nuts. Also, I ALWAYS have leftovers and it's pretty awesome. Weight fell off faster than I could keep up. My obsession with tracking calories is optional now. That's been nice. I can RUN up a flight of stairs - or two! It feels great being active. Now I understand why it was so hard to do things when my weight was higher. I can finally function. CONs: The HORRIBLE constipation/gas pains the weeks following my surgery cannot go unmentioned. The pain meds that constipate are a special kind of hell. It was worse than my c-section BY FAR. At week #4, I was getting back to normal. Now that I'm a year post-op, The reflux is still plaguing me. It's MUCH better than the 4 post-op months. I can definitely live like this if this is as good as it gets. I go between taking 20 and 40 mg omeprazole depending on what the food plans are that day. Pretty easy to manage now. Walking by a mirror is still odd. I've changed so much that I'm still surprised. When I buy clothes, I'm still confused by the sizes I'm fitting into. Never in a million years thought I'd lose so much in the 1 year post-op. Buying/fitting bras has been a nightmare, but that's for another post. Glad I did it! I would do it again! I can run and jump like a kid again! It's GREAT!

How long after gastric sleeve are you at risk of getting Dumping Syndrome ?
armartin98 replied to PM2022's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved 12/22/2021. Never had dumping. At 6 weeks post op my doctor said I'm healed and could eat and drink anything but hard veggies, like raw carrots, etc... for 2 months after my 6 weeks. I drank coffee with creamer 2 weeks after surgery. Never had a problem. -

First fast food since surgery
PM2022 replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OMG you are so lucky !! ๐ช I am about 5 1/2 weeks and can't eat anything. I have been trying different foods chicken hurts, ground beef is ok, fruits hurt everything doesn't feel good. I basically just have yogurt and crackers plus I can only take tiny bites and then my stomach starts making these weird noises and it feels uncomfortable. I cant wait to have fast food lol or just eat like a normal person again
