Kaelin I love your NSV! I too have the joy of not rubbing against the steering wheel!! I am only 5'0" so I have to really sit close to reach the pedals. In my jeep I had to drive with my tiptoes cause I couldn't sit any closer - now I can scoot up and reach the pedals!!! woohoo for us!

That's great, Liz!! I am so excited for you! I am learning to appreciate the NSVs. I traveled this weekend for the first time since surgery. I was COMFORTABLE in the seat on the airplane, CINCHING my belts on both flights, and generally not self conscious about how I looked or how uncomfortable I was (or made a seat mate). It's great!! I love hearing about your NSV. I find that I am more inspired by those than the numbers we report. Don't get me wrong, when I weigh myself tomorrow morning I hope to see myself in the 250s (not since.... gods, 10 years ago???), but I am so high on feeling and looking better and these NSVs, I am driven by everyone else's to go for those feelings. Maybe I am rambling a bit; I am exhausted. But thank you again for sharing. You're awesome!

NSV are the best. I also find it hard to wrap my brain around being a smaller size. I look at the clothes and think, "I could never fit in that!" At least you only paid $5 for the pants! Keep up the good work!

My surgeon never said a thing about a binder! On the bright side, 4 days post op I was able to poop! NSV!

Here's a different NSV for you.... About 7-10 yeas ago I attended a seminar for Lasik Refractive Eye Surgery....after which I went through the pre-op testing to see if I was a candidate or not.... I was considered to be a candidate, but was talked out of it by the surgeons because I was a out of control diabetic, taking both daily injections and oral meds.....and all of the vision problems associated with diabetics was explained to me, and was told they were all coming my way....making the Lasik Surgery a waste of time and money.... Fast forward...I have lost ALL my excess weight and body fat%....my Diabetes has been totally reversed for 2 years now, no longer taking any med's....as are all my other past medical issues...(co-morbidities) I completed all of the pre-op testing yesterday, Phase 1,which took about a weeek.... and have entered Phase 2 this morning which is the 30 day pre-op protocol I need to follow....within these 30 days, a surgery date will be set... Making it no longer a need for Rx eye glasses or contacts!!! So, along with my new body I am now getting new "Eyes" I wish I had this weight loss surgery a long time ago...it has changed so many things in my life...this is yet another one added to my list!! I am almost 62 years old....going on 40 !!!

I finally took my rings in to be resized. After 65 pounds, they were a tad loose. I was surprised when they took them down a full size. I just got them back and of course they are so pretty when they are all polished up, but I was amazed at the size. They are little! Who knew I had small fingers. Put a smile on my face today.

I was also banded on 3/30....and things have been pretty static for the last 6wks. I'm doing my exercise, but it's still annoying not to see the results on the scale in weightloss. I've too have had 2 fills and the only comfort I've found is the NSV in all of this. I am having fill #3 next week, and my Dr. takes measurements also. This is the NSV portion...seeing my measurements going down although the weight might not move as quickly. I've dropped 2 shirt sizes since surgery and I'm down to the size I was back in 2001. I keep telling myself I didn't get this way in a short amount of time, so it's going to take time to get the weight off (btw, it's healthier ). I teach and in my opinion I have not seen changes over the summer but going back to work in my room this week, my fellow staff members have noticed changes that have happened since June. Chin up....I truly believe it's the fill factor. I know that this 2nd fill of mine is finally (after about 2 wks since it was done) beginning to be felt. I expect this next fill to be more of a tweak than #2. Patience....and it will happen. Best of luck! Annette -
I am only 36 pounds lost and I had several NSVs on vacation. First the seat belt on the plane was very loose and not tight like normal. Second, I rode on roller coasters for the first time in years because I wasn't scared I wouldn't fit. And third, I saw pics of me in a bathing suit and didnt cringe;) Ready for the next 36!!!!!!

Friday Morning Weigh-In, May 8, 2009

Last week: 183.4 This week: 183.2 And had a sucky eating weekend so figured I'd be up this AM. No, down a lb! UGH! Hate when that happens! Hopefully I'll get to keep it but we'll see what happens by Friday! LOL! NSV Alert! Had to go swimsuit shopping this weekend. Bought a cute skirted tankini, 40% off and in a size 16! Last year's suit was a 20 or 22, can't remember for sure. So exciting! It's a little snug but not bad and will be even better as the summer goes along! Have a great week All Stars!! -
Great story. Thanks for the reminder. I walked out of my pants two days ago! Hubby said I Had to go shopping and get some pants! I am laughing so hard at that statement. HE never wants me to go shopping. I think pants falling off by themselves is a great NSV. Not one I ever thought I would experience. Amazing journey!

Are we "live" now? Slow as molasses now known as Over 55?
fezik23 replied to It's Allgood's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found you guys! I get lost on this site sometimes, and it depends on whether I'm on my phone, ipad or computer. I just posted today that my NSV was doing my own pedicure. Not great, but done. I have a lot of arthritis in my left knee, so that foot is hard to do. Lindalue, when is your surgery scheduled? -

Definite NSV.... Boudoir Photos! Eeep!
livvsmum posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
So this week I had a definite NSV. I dug out the courage to go have some boudoir photos taken of myself as a gift for my husband. I still struggle daily with confidence in relation to my body. I still struggle with comprehending what I see in the mirror against what I see as myself in my minds eye, even after maintaining my goal weight for over a year and a half. I still struggle with feeling like an imposter, like a very obese person hiding in a thin body. Every day is a battle ground in my mind it seems. I've been in therapy since 10 months post op, and I don't see that ending any time soon. But.....I am still making progress mentally, emotionally, and with my self confidence. Never in a million years would I imagine I would be someone with enough confidence to pose for boudoir photos! I can't even remember what it was that prompted me to take the first step and schedule the appointment. I just remember thinking what an awesome surprise gift it would be for my husband. He has been an absolutely AMAZING support over the past 2 years. He has encouraged me to keep going when I wanted to quit. He has stepped up to help deal with some issues in our marriage that were contributing to my emotional eating. He has put in extra time keeping the "home fires burning" while I put in literally hours and hours and hours training for races and marathons. He has traveled, gotten up at the crack of dawn, stood out in the cold for hours to cheer me on at my races. And perhaps most poignant in my mind is that he has done the not always glamorous tasks involved with caring for me and helping me recover after my 2 surgeries - especially the tummy tuck which was especially non-glamorous and painful. I thought a book of my boudoir photos for him would be an awesome way to say thank you for the support. But once I made the decision, I actually had to go through with it. I was dreading it and super excited about it all at the same time. By the end of the shoot I felt confident, strong, and sexy. I was having a complete blast. I cannot wait to go back next week and see the pics. Maybe if I love them I will share one or two of them here. It just blows my mind the ways in which I have changed physically, emotionally, and mentally over the past 2 years. What an awesome journey it has been! -
