Constant Struggles and Vomitting/Nasuea/Illness in general???
Frustr8 replied to JaminJ's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
And I hope jaminj that a new endoscopy or other exam gives you the answers you need. I have had a stomal stricture and multiple jejuneal ulcerations, not fun, hard to heal, been on Carafate since October, every 6 hours round the clock- 6AM Noon 6PM Midnight and Zofran 8am- 4pm- 10pm every since my RnY surgery September 5th, a PICC line November 29 2018- February 26 2019 so I have fought the nausea battle and I'm still going on strong through it all. I still believe,i will have the Victory I deserve. This is not the oath I would have chosen but I will make the best of it, I guess I am the Endurance Model of Girl.🚕I think of me as a jalopy, not the sleekest model out there, but I am sturdy dependable and when the Ferarris and Lambos have blown their engines and had to be scrapped i'll be still putt-putting along down my road! -
Is there anything you wish you'd been told pre-op?
chrissymcm08 replied to Pippa1703's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, the acid problem with the sleeve, guess I will be on Pantrozole/Omeprazile for the rest of my life unless I have a revision to bypass. Also have gallstones now so they want to take my gallbladder out. I am 10 months out. Sent from my LG-LS777 using BariatricPal mobile app -

Omega Loop Gastric Bypass Group - Australia 2019
Burny63 posted a topic in Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum
Hi all I'm keen to form a group of Aussies who have had or are planning to have the Omega Loop Gastric Bypass weight loss surgery. I am scheduled to have the surgery on March 27th and would love to hear from people who have already had the surgery as well as those who have it planned for the future, so we share experiences and offer support. This is a life changing decision and I have so many questions about it. I've watched lots of You Tube videos and done plenty of research but would love to hear from people who have been through the experience. Cheers Burny63- 1 reply

Orthostatic Hypotension
mrs_brontosaurus replied to mousecat88's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have this issue even pre-op at 245 pounds. I’ve dealt with it since I was 10. It’s an annoying thing my body does. I can’t say if it improves as your weight stabilizes, but I can tell you that most remedies have been useless for me. Increasing sodium, taking atenolol, wearing compression stockings, chugging Gatorade, it was for naught. I know now to just manage the symptoms as they come. I try to avoid triggers like doing anything too exerting first thing in the morning, exercising too intensely, standing stationary too long, especially in stuffy/hot environments. If I feel an “episode” coming on, I try to lie down if possible, and if not I sit down and try to ensure I won’t fall if I faint. Good luck! -
February 2019 weight loss buds
gabybab replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had my surgery 2/25 and had no appetite until 2 evenings ago. No interest in anything. Everything tasted bad/different. The past 3 nights I have had 1 cup of chicken broth. I sip it, but probably do in 10 minutes. It goes down so easy. I was absolutely starving last night and it did the trick. Hope I'm ok too, because it didn't restrict at all. -
No you are not crazy. I had to have 2 lap bands removed and waited a little over a year to have the sleeve done on 2/22/2019. I haven't gotten much support from my husband and my daughter but I did it for me. I just bit my tongue when I ask for help and they reply with I told you shouldn't have gotten the surgery done. I'm very glad I found this forum for support.

Pre Op liquid diet.. help
2Bsmaller18 replied to Alwzla8's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can also get the protein flavored waters. I have found the premade shakes are better blended than powder and milk at home. When I do make one at home I shake it then put it in the freezer for 10 minutes to get cold and for the bubbles to dissolve, that helps. -
Oops meant 2019 lol

New Job Offer, planned surgery
lesslana replied to Bootscraper's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just did this. You should check with your HR representative who handles FMLA only. They will advise you regarding your institutional policy and cannot disclose because they are designated as confidential HR personnel (if that makes sense). I submitted my FMLA and had been approved. They offer came 24 hours later. I informed the hurting manger at that time and we both agreed my start date would remain the same. New job 3/11, sleeve 3/19. I'm only asking for the same weeks. It's a desk job. But know your policy first before proceeding! Sent from my Nokia 6.1 using BariatricPal mobile app -

I had laparascopic gastric sleeve on 2/5/19. I am typically a slow healer from surgery, and usually need more anaesthesia and pain meds (some to do with being a pale redhead I'm told). My doctor sent me home with no pain meds, and refused to prescribe any when my husband phoned after discharge. I was in a lot of pain for that first week. It did get better. I am still really angry at my surgeon - if I was a drug seeker, there are easier ways to get meds than go through a 6 month programme and have 90% of your stomach cut out...

It is normal. I had my sleeve 1/21/19. People were telling me I wasn't going to think about food. I did and still do. 5 weeks post OP and I am down 39lbs. I am exercising like crazy. I feel great. I haven't had bread, rice or pasta but I had a piece of steak about 4oz and it was yummy and I was full. You will do fine. Just follow the Dr's instructions.

Anyone get their sleeve February 2019
Outlinedspider replied to jazlynvictoriaxo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi All! It’s really nice to have found a place with encouragement and great information! I was sleeved 2/19. So far I’m down 13 lbs. but it’s slowed somewhat ... it’ll stand still for a day or 2 then drop 1-2 lbs again. Is that normal? Also.... does anyone have advice or recipes for week 3? Honestly if I never see Jell-O or pudding again it may be too soon. -
February 2019 weight loss buds
Dubchild replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
All programs are different and I think that’s why these forums are so helpful. I am 19 days post op and successfully had a 1/2 glass of wine last night in very small sips over the course of about 1.5 hours. No problems or trouble today. Two bites of Tim hortons chilli on the way home last night chewed up to the max. Live your life -

No weight loss 11 days after bypass
ladykrisgraff replied to Gundy's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm 10 days post op, and I just now started to see some weight loss. I think that your body is still going through a big 'holy crap what are you doing to me?' and holding onto everything that you put into it until it finally realizes that the calorie intake isn't going to change. I also believe that everyone's body is different, and that this is especially true of diabetics. Tell her to not get discouraged, to keep doing what she's doing, and as everyone else said, to move as much as she can, even if that's just doing laps around the living room. We all wish her the best! -

Surgery 3/18/19– Anyone else?
lesslana replied to FindingMeWithin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
3/19/19. There is another thread looking for Mar 2019 sleeves if your thread doesn't get a lot of hits. -
Getting it out will help! I am 3 days post op of getting my gallbladder removed. I am 10 months post bypass surgery. I did not feel good when I ate anything for 6 months but my surgeon did not think I had ulcers or anything serious. When I ate I would have pain on my left side below my ribs and I also just did not feel like myself or generally I felt not well. On Super Bowl Sunday I had a severe gallbladder attack. I went to UPMC where I had my bypass and they found severe sepsis blood infection caused by my gallbladder backing up bile in my liver ducts. My liver was also inflamed. So I had 7 days in the hospital and another 14 days of in home IV antibiotics. Then they finally took it out on Feb 28. I can say that I feel more like my old self than I have for a while. The operation went well and I was released home on the same day as the surgery. Good luck but getting the gallbladder removed should improve your health.

GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br /> +
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in The Gals' Room
And you will be glad for the surgery when everything settles down again. It rocks you and your world for quite awhile but you're gonna be glad. Would never want to go back to HW (365+) even my surgery weight(319) I will be 6 months this Tuesday (9/05/2018) think I am hovering around 260-265, I have a different type doctor appointment Monday(3/04/19) they do have a scale, I don't own one myself, had a speaking one, got mad, pitched it in the dumpster long ago. Last thing I need is a robotic voice saying "You weigh the same as a small steer!" Yes people have started to notice, but not in a positive way, "Your face looks gaunt"- Are you sure you aren't taken for sick? "Did you get Cancer?" No, is it mandatory? Have your surgery before you're old like me, nobody considers a Happy thing like deliberate weight loss when you're over 70. Last person , the one asking about cancer, I told her" No I had weight loss surgery",only to be told "Nope that's a lie, you know you have cancer and don't want to admit it!" Why argue, I said " Bye Felecia " to her and went on my merry way , inside I'm shaking my head, I'd never have said That to Her. People are strange and some don't get any brighter as the years pass. But although some days I Think I look like a wreck on the B&O waiting for somebody to clear the tracks, the few people I have left that love ME say it is a positive change. I think one of the things is. I am rather housebound in Central Ohio, it's gloomy cold March and I need some real sunlight on my skin, too poor for tanning beds, don't care if it brings out my Celtic freckles, at least I won't look any longer like skim milk, and not Fairlife, the cheap kind, after the butterfat has disappeared.
