  1. :thumbup:Angie* that is super you got your drain out and that you are eating mushies. my dh used to make me shepard pie(?) I think that is what he called it. yummy. meatloaf and mashed potatos blended together. he added more, but, would not tell me. I am a very picky eater!! Congrats on the 21+ loss. your doing great. I am going out of town today, and I only have 1 pair of jeans that fit at this time. So, I told my dh he has to take me to a thrift store and buy me at least 1 pair. lol.....nobody seems to want to get clothes right now. I have over 100+ items to sell/get rid of. Kathy* welcome to the world of restriction!! eat slower. eat 1 bite and wait 1-2 min. then try another bite. wtb on passing the 50lbs mark. Niki* see you in a few weeks. (we are on the same fill schedule) Lyn* your doing great. hang on until you get a fill. It will slowly get easier. one more thing. I had an awesome nsv last night. I (yes,me) fit into a size 20 tankini top!! I look hot now. I actually looked into a mirror while I was wearing it. (I bought it in May, and I had no chance in getting myself in it at that time. lol) keep being losers!!

    Back to work tomorrow!! ACK!

It was ok. I have been very tired though by the time I get home. I have been trying to move a bit more because sitting in a chair can get really uncomfortable after a while! But hey an NSV I've been able to fit into a pair of pants I haven't worn in probably 1 year or more!! I've also been feeling a little sick by hte end of the day but that may be because i'm not burping and farting as much so I have it all inside by the end of the day! :tt2: Most people have made comments on my hair...probably because it is an easier thing to comment on (a bit blonder than previous colours and it was out and nicely straightened because normally I can't be bothered and put it in a ponytail ) I had two girls comment on how much weight I'd lost, one who knows and another who doesn't know which was nice :tt2:

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Mac - I just can't help myself - NEVER! Congrats on the NSV tho!!! I think b/w now and surgery (yea) I am going to organize my clothes by size. I can't wait to be able to tell some of them, "sorry, guys, you're just too big! See ya!"

I hate it when people post just to post.....

It is so nice and such an inspiration for us all to see the "NSV". I love to put on my clothes then go to the mirror and just get tickled to see clothes hanging off of me. I lurk often in here and I rarely post but, I think you all are nice people and very helpful even if does sometime hurt. I feel that if it won't kill me, it will help me.
  5. ReadySteadyGo

I can see, I can see!!!

That is a cool NSV. I can't wait to get there.

Love that jersey.....found it at a thrift store for a few bucks....we all know how much of a savings that is..... I had a NSV today...my daughter gave me a pair of LEI jean shorts that were too big on her last night...they sit below the waist...(didnt know I had one...) and they fit me.....they seem tight for me, but Hmm....love the size, the way they make my Butt look, and the fact that there was NO way in Hell these would of come close to getting on me a year ago....LOVE MY BAND...LOVE MY BIKE, LOVE MY FRIENDS...LOVE LIFE!!!!

I can see, I can see!!!

Great NSV. My recent favorite is sitting in my desk chair and crossing my legs! It has been so, so, so long since I was able to do that. Thought I might scream, but thought my employees would be alarmed. Today's NSV was going to Stein Mart and buying a size L skirt at 75% off. It feels so good to be an L!!!

NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!

I had another NSV moment today. I was wearing a blouse that I hadn't worn in about 3 weeks. I didn't look at it before going out. When I went to my daughter's home she asked when I was going to get rid of that blouse because it was looking bad because it is so big! Yeah! Good job everyone else.

    Daily News!

Apples - I was expecting your basic NSV story but WOW you surprised me, glad I was not drinking Water when I read that:biggrin: Cathy - Congrats! My daughter and 1 YO GD live with me and it is wonderful though I also could have handled wedding bells before booties:blush: Long - You are still losing, just keep it up you are doing great! Strike - We are thinking about you and have high hopes for your move and your next fill:thumbup: I have more restriction since my 2nd fill and have started losing again so I feel as though I am one of the lucky ones that finds that restriction early. I am sure I will want another fill in a month or so but I am happy for now.

NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!

I had two NSVs this past week! First, I went for my fill and my doc said NO. He said "you are doing great. You lost 11 pounds in the last month. You don't even NEED a fill". At first I was bummed because I felt like I went there for nothing, but then I realized that wasnt a bad thing  Second, my best friend slept over yesterday. I woke up and was getting dressed for work and he said "You're shrinking!" He looked under the bed and then back at me and said "where did you go?" LOL that made my day

    Daily News!

OK...gotta share what happened to me today. Was trying on jeans at our local store. Had about six pair in the dressing room with me. Tried on the first pair and they were too big. Got excited. Was getting into the next pair...had my left leg in and tripped on the waist band getting my second leg into the jeans. Well, hit the door, door swung open and hit my shopping cart (quite the clang). Before I knew it, I was sitting in an open aisle in my bra and panties right in front of the deacon from the local church. What the hell was he doing lurking in the misses section by the dressing room anyway? Be warned: Take your time trying on those new jeans....even if it is a NSV moment!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to share this NSV

I tried my husband's pants on and they fit me! I've never been able to fit into his pants before. He's a normal-sized man, they are a 36 waist. I'm including a picture of me wearing them. I also tried on my old box of "Melissa's Hopefuls". That was my way of labeling the box something positive instead of Melissa Clothes Too Small. Anyway, I got this box out and tried things on. Everything fit. Some were a tad snug, but I was able to fit into everything in there. That's the last of my skinny clothes. Such a surreal moment. The weird thing about it is that I was a good 30-40 pounds lighter than I am now when I was wearing these things. I must just be dense.

NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!

I have to NSV today! First I noticed that my pants I had on today is ready to be turned out to pasture! YEAH!! I grabbed 2 inches on each side of them. The second is the sterring wheel in the car no longer rubs my belly. So maybe the car will finally realize that I am not a genie. LOL

    Let's talk Plateaus

I love it how you guys call me Skinnyhappy. Thanks for the compliment. I was actually just coming to post that yes, I have broken my plateau. Here's what I did: I did the two days of adding a few decadent treats to up my calories. I didn't go totally crazy, but did up the calories a ways. My weight went down a little, but right back up the next few days. So I don't think that was hugely successful for me. The numbers on the scale were really stressing me out and so I had dh hide the scale and decided to only weigh on my official weekly weight day which is Tuesday. He's so cute about it. He has taken it on as a personal challenge to keep it's location a secret. This morning the scale had magically appeared in its spot for my weekly weigh in. During this last week I've continued to exercise and loosened up my eating a little bit, allowing some extra calories here and there. I didn't track calories, but it was not exorbitant amounts of food, just a bit more. Anyway, this morning I stepped on the scale, so nervous, and to my utter joy, I have lost 3 pounds this week!!!! My conclusion to all of this is that hopefully my exercise is finally making the difference, and that with the exercise I needed to increase my calorie intake to compensate for the exercise. I've been exercising 6 days a week, between 1 and 1 1/2 hours a day. I haven't missed a workout since July 28th and that's about when my weight loss stopped. I felt like at some point the exercise would have to make a difference and that the new muscle mass I'm gaining from exercising would start helping to burn fat. It's taken about 6 weeks for the weight to start coming off again after beginning my exercise routine. I've always heard that when you start exercising, your weight loss can slow down, or even go up, but experiencing it has been hard. I've just tried to focus on the nsvs that I've been having because they were there. My clothes were getting baggier, my inches were going down and I knew I was becoming healthier. I'm just so excited to see the scale move again. Oh, happy day!
  15. Stupid NSV, BUT I can see bits of the chair seat as I'm sitting on it. Here I was, sitting at my desk, lamenting/cursing my plateau, and for the first time ever I noticed that there is chairseat visible to the left and right of my legs, and some chair is showing between my legs (I'm wearing pants, it's not that Im wearing a skirt hiked up to the wazoo!!). Yippee!!!! Tapshoes spins on her chair like a giddy kid at a soda shop (those of you old enough to know what that is can appreciate the excitement of that novelty).

    Nsv!!

Congratulations! Btw most of the old Navys discontinued the sale of plus sizes in store but they do still take the returns in store from online  So if you wanna reorder something just take it in for credit, get a smaller size, and work towards that size You're doing awesome with your weight loss and it's always a wonderful NSV when you hit milestones in clothing sizes! Keep up the great work!

    Nsv!!

I did the dance of joy yesterday! My husband and I are going on a 14-day Caribbean cruise in February and I ordered two sundresses online the other day. I tried to guesstimate what size I'd be in Februrary, but it's so hard to do! Before surgery I was a 30/32 on top. I ordered the sundresses NOW because everything summery is on sale (vacation costs really add up!). I ordered myself a 2X - from Old Navy! I couldn't believe I was actually ordering from Old Navy...somewhere other than The Avenue, Lane Bryant, etc. Granted, it's from the Women's Plus section of Old Navy, but who cares. Anyway, the dresses arrived yesterday. They're actually a little TOO big! I can't believe it! I was so excited I was dancing around my husband's shop (he's a mechanic). The scale still says I weigh A LOT, but I don't care. I've always weighed heavy (I'm big boned), so I'm just going with my dress size and how I look and feel! I don't even care that these dresses may be too big in February. Whoop whoop!

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f109/best-nsv-ever-make-all-worth-75175/ I have to share what happened to me last night. It truly is the most random thing Sean Penn has said to me in a LONG time! I am so puzzled, I am still on cloud what the hell??. SO I went to a celebrity death matchI loved with much distress. I haven't seen almost all of these freaks in 15 days. (Peter Griffin School of Verbal Karate, class of 95) I didn't go to any of my class reuinions because I was shackled to an illegal alien. I wasn't interested in school at all. I was a model for Sexyshinytoenails.com, so I always thought I had peaked in high school. Well a celebrity that I had a crush on in high school leaned over to me last night and said "Don't take this the wrong way, but do I have something on my lip?" I wanted to cry and puke. I just smiled and said "Actually, Sean, yes....you appear to have a dab of sausage gravy on the corner of your mouth", while inside I was smirking. Everyone was telling me how good I looked and how Sean Penn was the messiest eater ever, I even got a bit of revenge with an old boyfriend when his prescription for "Enzyte" fell out of his pocket during the limbo competetion. Last night made it all worth it! I love my band!

  21. Hey! I'll meet you! What time would be best and what date? I'd love to meet you! WE could have soup or just drinks! I am a big time Huskers' Fan! I went to UNL and graduated in 1985! I was there during the big Osborne era!!! GO Huskers!! Yup, that is how I feel when I have eaten too much! It's not a good feeling!!! I am a Water Bottle addict! I love all kinds of water bottles! I love your glasses! I just got a new pair also! I was going for that, "Hot for Teacher" look!!! I think you're right about not getting a fill. I'm in the same spot. AND it scares me to mess up a good thing. Even a tiny fill can ruin a your green zone and having an unfill can really mess things up! Sometimes it takes longer to get to the green zone after having an unfill. Tom and I discuss this everytime I go in. I made my next appt. for 6 weeks instead of 4. Congrats on all of those NSV's!! That is so scary! AND so close to your home! I hate when that happens. Even tho you know it's an isolated case and most likely not a random crime, it still is unnerving! I'm so happy to hear about Tucker-Baby! That's great news! There is an Atlanta Bread Company not far from Dr. K's office, we could get some soup OR we could hit those places off of Pena and Tower area if you want -- that would be closer to the airport and closer to Brandy-girl. I confess, I love Popcorn! The AMC theater near my home has this great little package deal. 8oz of popcorn (smaller than the kids size) an 8oz drink and candy. Or any combo! I usually get the popcorn and two water bottles. I know it's bad! BUT I really don't care! I sacrifice all of the time, if I want a tiny popcorn when I go to the movies, I think that's okay. Okay Guys, as some of you know I served a year in Haiti as a student missionary. I loved it there! More than anything, I absolutely loved the people! They are really struggling with the recent hurricanes. Please take a moment and say a prayer for the people of Haiti and all the others who have suffered from the bad weather. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Their lives are hard enough and a disaster like this is devastating.

    Best One-Year Anniversary NSV

That is an awesome NSV!!! When we're out in public I'm constantly asking my boyfriend "Am I bigger than that girl?" "Is that girl skinnier than me?" It's hard sometimes to see ourselves in our new bodies and getting some outside validation is always nice!! ____ Maggie - Make sure your doctor does every test in the book. To *me* a SLOW leak is not restriction one day and nothing the next. Port replacement seems like a pretty minor procedure. I have my fingers crossed for you.

This helps me Tapshoes, I still feel like nothing can get me down now! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f109/best-nsv-ever-make-all-worth-75175/
  24. Gosh, lots of positive stuff in the last 24 or so hours! Dork: cute glasses! congrats on NSVs... tucker update (ignore if you are tired of dog talk:wink2:) He is doing great. No coughing, freight train breathing, or vomiting. He is eating more in quantity and in frequency. He is getting stronger in his back legs (all the better to hop up into my favorite chair). We are so optimistic about his future; it will be our responsibility to make sure he eats and drinks in a correct posture...a flat plane position. Good news for me! I calculated that I have lost 20 lbs. since surgery, which was only 17 days ago, making a total of almost 34 lbs so far:lol: As I mentioned earlier, I am coming on 23rd for my first fill and have to say I am a little anxious about it. I have had no probs so far at all and I am envisioning trouble after a fill. Tell me, am I being anxious for no reason?
