Hi all, Today I reached a major personal NSV. We have been planning on going to Universal Orlando and visit the Harry Potter attraction. When they first opened there was talk about the seats on one ride being small. They made the outer seat larger so overweight people could ride but they were still small and it was a bit of a stigma if you had to sit there because "everyone knows" Well today I got on the ride I was alone because I was the only one brave enough to ride. The seat that was available was an end seat but an attendant had me switch seats to an inner one so the other person could be more comfortable!!!!!!!

hurrah! I know the power of the List of NSVs full well. It is pretty stong stuff to be able to read over your NSV list any time you are feeling down, or heck, when you want just a small pick-me-up. Congrats on your list, and here's hoping that this next year will bring you many more NSVs.

WOW! What a wonderful bunch of NSV's. Good for you. I hope to be there soon.:clap2:

That moment when someone u haven't seen in 5 months sees u but walks past u bcuz they don't recognize you. That's what I encountered today at work. That was one of my best NSV's so far. I'm 8 months post op and 35 away from goal. This NSV just motivated me more than ever. To hit my goal by November. My Bandiversary.

Nsv... I Went From 5:45 Am To 5 Pm Without Using My Wheelchair...
tjmom replied to tjmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
NSV Update ** I just wanted to let everyone know that I have gone a whole week WITHOUT using my wheelchair!!! I was having to use it after 7:30 - 8:00 pm but starting last week i decided it was time to take a stand... so as of last Monday ""no more wheelchair"" ... when i felt the nagging pains .... that use to make me get into my chair... I sat down on a chair or the couch for s few minutes... then got up and continued walking...I did have to buy some compression socks because of leg cramps... Next week, I will have my husband remove the motorized chair from the house... I gained weight (244 to 248) last week but I am to excited about not using the chair minutes, I don't care. Do you think maybe the weight gain is muscle?...((From all the walking)) -
6 Days Post-Op And Have Nsv's Already!
Lissa replied to Liberated Sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
AMAZING NSV's!!! Those are worth the price of admission right there!!! -
This is just the motivation I needed to get beck on track. So I had an NSV today. For the first time I have run 4.05 miles. Usually I run about 3-3.5 but today it was 4. I am feeling pretty good about that. I hope I can see that in the scales. Oh today I weighed in at 208.

Hi all, Vicki, it is great that you have a wonderful relationship with your stepkids. I had one with my stepson, but never the daughters. They just didn't like that at their moms, they were allowed to drink, smoke and have boys spend the night. At our house, there was rules and I was not going to allow kids that young do those things in my home. Now, my stepson has married and without even having met me and just going upon what the girls say, she hates me. She is posting "fat" comments about me all over the internet. It hurts, but that is ok. I really feel bad for my dh because it is really causing problems between he and them because he naturally defends me and refuses to tolerate anyone badmouthing me. Hopefully, it will all drop soon and we will be able to go on with life. I could my blessings with what I have that is good in life and don't worry over the rest. StephC and Lady Janey, "dh" is darling hubby. "ds", darling son and "dd" darling daughter. NSV is a non-scale-victory. These are other weight loss successes not related to getting on the scale and seeing a drop in weight. These are things such as dropping a clothes size, fitting into the booth at a restaurant, being able to take a walk without getting winded, etc. I hope this helps.

Actually, I had several NSV's this weekend and thought I would post them. My 13 year old daughter and I were getting ready to go on a road trip on Saturday when she looked at me and told me the jeans I had on were way to baggy and I needed to change. We went through 5 pairs of jeans before we found a pair we both agreed on, even though they were still a bit big. When I started back in April, I was wearing a 30-32. The jeans I settled on yesterday, which were given to me by a wonderful fellow LBT'er, were a size 22 and had plenty of extra room. My husbands children have always hated me and blame me as the reason their parents are not together. Nevermind that they were divorced in 1991 due to her cheating, she was married to someone else by 1992 and my dh and I didn't even meet until 1996. Well, his son has gotten married and she has taken on the role of stepmom abuser. I have a myspace and she didn't like something I posted about people who curse a lot. So, on her myspace, she posted a very nasty blog entry about me, to include calling me fat and ugly. Now, normally, I would have been put to tears by this. But, my NSV was that my only thought was, "sure, I may be fat now, but I will soon be thin and when I am, you will still be a bitch." (sorry for the profanity). Yesterday, we took the kids to the zoo. When we went two years ago, after one hour my feet were killing me, I was sweating profusely, was exhausted and generally miserable. Yesterday, we spent four hours there. My feet never hurt, I didn't get tired and was still full of energy at the end of the day. This was a huge NSV for me because it made the entire experience more enjoyable for everyone. Thats it for now.

So, I went out with some co-workers last night to a bar for a drink or two then to a haunted house. AND...and random strange man bought me a drink at the bar AND I got invited out to club afterwards...(didn't go, but hey, it's the hitting on me that counts!). I feel like such a GIRL!!!! I'm 37 and it's the first time a guy has tried to pick me up. Woohoo!

@@Cupcake, Yay for you! You got through it! I am so glad you feel good. Isn't it nice to be on this side of the surgery? @@allielee, I almost threw up in the hospital and it was terrifying! You are a trooper. Congrats on your weight loss so far. @@Kookichu, thanks for always being so positive and supportive! The scale started moving the very next day, and "bathroom issues" had a lot do to with that! Without providing TMI, I think things had been backed up for awhile. Not any more, though!! And, on a NSV note, I actually went to work out last night!!! Just a little bit on the treadmill, but I have not had energy to even do that. So, baby steps back to cardiac health for me.

I went to get a fill Thursday, and for the first time in 6 years, my blood pressure was normal!!!! I have to confess, when I was placed on the meds, they were never strong enough. But I was in denial and didn't want to get a stronger dose. So I've just been skating by all of these years. I CANNOT wait to get off this medication. That was my first reason for having this surgery. The pounds have been slow to drop, but what I've lost plus exercising consistently has done the trick. Yeah, Me!

Great NSV! Congrats on your success!

I am officially in the 2-teens! Goodbye 220s! I won't miss you. I haven't been below 220 since junior high, or at least freshman in high school. I can't be too sure though because I never weighed myself. I'm basically going off of clothes that I've saved and how they fit, even though I've grown several inches since then so naturally my BMI is going to change. I tried on clothes I've been saving since before my rapid weight gain, and some fit and some were too big! I don't need to shop for bottoms now because I've dug out 3 pairs of shorts, 4 pairs of capris, and 2 pairs of pants. All I need now are shirts that don't look like tents on me, lol. Even at my heaviest, I had pretty good blood pressure. It averaged about 110-115 over 70-75. In an earlier post of mine, I was worried that my bp seemed to be higher than it used to be, even though I've lost 70 pounds since my highest weight. Donated blood today and my bp read 100 over 70! I used to have dimples on my lower back, one on either side of my spine, and they have returned! Before, my fat "filled them up" and now they're back. I can now see a slight indentation above my collarbone. If I shrug my shoulders, I can see my collarbone clearly! I work in a movie theater and one of my jobs requires me to go up and down stairs all day. I don't get out of breath anymore. My ticker starts the day of surgery, but from my highest I am halfway to goal! 70 pounds down, 70 to go!

My NSV..... Doing a Zumba video without stoping and feeling awesome! I am 2 week post op. I could barely make it to seven minutes of the video a month ago. May not mean much to others but priceless to me.

Hi All, I was watching a repeat Dr Phil the other day and he gave us all a NSV. He was talking to a woman who had had WLS didn't say which. She was over 300lbs before and looked to be well in onederland. Dr. Phil said at one point "A lot of people think having WLS is taking the easy way out. I know that the opposite is true. There is nothing easy about it" Nice to hear.
