Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
GBear replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hola Banditos! Well, I'm finally back home in California, and I'm glad to be with my DH. Surgery on the 16th went well, but I get tired easily, especially in the late afternoon. I was glad I had time to recover with my relatives in CO before coming home because I think that made a huge difference. Thank you to everyone who sent me good wishes and congrats! (Mini, Lap, Munchkin, PrtyAntOvrYt, and Green... gosh, I hope I didn't miss anyone!) I wanted to read more on this site the last few days, but I had spotty Internet access while at my cousin's house. Bella, contrats on getting banded! Adorkable, what a wonderful huge difference I see in you! Also, I'm so sorry to hear about the gall bladder, but hopefully you will be and feel better when they take care of it. I was glad I got to kind of touch base with Lotza at Dr. K's office for our preop appts and in the recovery room. I know I don't really know her, but it somehow made me feel a little bit better "knowing" someone who was going through the exact same experience as me right *there*. I hope you are healing well, Lotza! I'm having a hard time getting in all my liquids because I feel a teeny bit of pressure/fullness. Or maybe it's the normal amount and I'm just being overly scared. But I guess better safe than sorry. Now that I'm home I bought protein bullets and Isopure protein drinks to help me get in more protein for the time being. TMI alert!! I also have a LOT of gas going through my intestines, etc. Egads, what's up with that? Is it because I ate almost nothing for a day (and ate low carb before that) and now I'm having sugar water (in the form of juice and popsicles)? Inquiring minds wanna know! Actually, what I would really love is for some omnipotent being to explain to me what each of the different feelings are in my body and whether or not they're normal, abnormal, etc. "This is due to the blah blah blah..." I know I'll eventually be able to interpret my own body eventually, but I wanted to be 100% sure NOW, ya know? Ah well, I guess a little patience never hurt anyone. And now... to bed. My OWN bed (well, with DH in it, too!). Glory be. -
For TMI purposes if your urine looks like this. Tell your doctor. mine was almost brown.

You know you are a bandster when....

***TMI Alert*** Last night I went to hear a wonderful speaker, of course there was food at the end. I got over-enthusiastic about a couple of bacon-wrapped scallops (I would have eaten a dozen or more pre-band) and ate them too fast. Well you know what that means... I had to leave early (had a hour drive home) and spent the entire hour on the freeway sliming and PB'ing...at 65 mph!:ohmy::ohmy: -
Sparkykrause, I did experience that pain in the beginning, right below my belly button. I think it is the nerves that are cut as part of surgery that need to re-heal. I remember searching it on here and others had experienced it too. Only lasted a few days for me, so hopefully for you too. Janiestine, I'm sorry you are in so much pain, but I love your stay positive attitude! I'm so looking forward to your recipes!!! Claire, I'm glad you are stepping back a bit and focusing on the fluids. Sounds like that is what your body is preferring. When do you go for a post-op so you can talk to a NUT? Erin, don't be discouraged! 12lbs is fantastic. One thing you have to consider is that you are a lower BMI and you lose slower than those with a higher one. Yesterday was a weird one for me. I puked a little Water after drinking too much. I wasn't trying to, but a medicine got stuck and I needed more water to get down. It's like the excess water had no where to go so up it came. I then had some diarrhea too. sorry tmi. I'm getting more energy back in the day, but I still sleep a lot at night! kdidn and believieinnikki, hope you both are doing ok!

Out With the Old--In With the New!
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks to each of you for warming my heart and making me feel your love and support!!! ((hugs)) Surgery went so smoothly. The hardest thing was the anesthesiologist trying to get a vein with the iv catheter. They stuck me like 13 times! NO kidding! But the nurse anesthetist was giving me laughing gas and anesthesia by then and we were talking and laughing and telling jokes while he was suffering trying to find a vein! Luckily the iv in my finger held until they took it out today! I am sipping/walking/having clear liquids today and tomorrow--then on to full liquids and protein drinks. I just weighed (at night) lol, and I'm up 5 lbs from anesthesia but that's fine. I will lose it. Also I appear to be full of sh*t! The surgeon said my colon had a ton of stool that I need to get cleaned out! Sorry for TMI! But apparently pooting and pooping are big things to them! I finally pooted tonight! HA! The real challenge is limiting myself to 4oz per hour! I'm able to drink very easily. I have very little pain and am controlling it now with tramadol and gabapentin. I'm doing so well! Walking, sipping, visiting, napping in my recliner and watching movies! Thank you to all for your prayers and support! I love each of you. I can't believe I finally had the surgery and it's over! I will tell you, that my desire/cravings for food right now are non-existent. And it really doesn't bother me to be on clear liquids. Also, the surgeon said it went so well. I had some adhesions that she removed and that my liver was pink and beautiful and that it was a very easy surgery! Yeeeehawwww! I'm on the losers' bench with ya now!!! ((hugs)) -
hmmm....does this qualify as TMI ?

Dam this took over an hour to read through and I have to say you all are GREAT, I know for some its tuff talking like this in an open forum with strangers. Ok now that the TMI issue has been tossed out the window I have a few words. I have noticed that when she eats a healthier diet her love muffin has a very mild aroma and taste, I’m happy to say she eats healthy most of the time!!! Now on to the squirting, my wife just lucked out and never needed to learn from a book, just CAME naturally to her, no pun intended! I was aware of this type of female orgasm before my wife and through one of the books taught a few of my partners how to squirt, now this all being said no worries to all those who don’t squirt when you cum, my wife says she just cum’s and sometimes it has a nice fountain with it. I would say it’s about 80% of the time. Three words Hitachi Magic Wand. Well for my wife and I when it’s time for the fun to end its me from behind and here holding the Hitachi magic wand, open the flood gates she is like that Geyser in Yellowstone “Old Faithful” Oh and as far as being told by my partner how and what she likes I have no issues with that, I was lucky when I was younger I went through a phase where I was very attracted to older woman and one of the things I liked most was many of them were not shy when it came to being vocal about what they liked. This has helped me big time over the years, I have also found that goodcommunication is your best friend not only with sex but with life in general remember we cant read minds!!! Oh and very sorry if any of this bothers any of ya, lol Im all druged out from being banded the other day WOOOT for me

Lmao, puddin...? What is that smilie face doing to the other one? It's kinda..... TMI...

Kerri, I just had to giggle when I read this because I have the exact same problem!! In fact in the Hawaiian dress that my DH bought me before Christmas, that's the problem spot. As soon as I lose that, I'll be super happy. My DH has been playing with it now (I know, TMI) though like it's a third boob. It drives me up a wall, but he gets a kick out of it. ~Nichole

I am doing okay with salads. I don't choose them often though because I go for protein instead. I can tell a slight difference in urgency to get to bathroom, but not diarrhea. Sorry, TMI. I seem to be stick in 190's. I need to pick up the exercise. I need to stop letting things get in the way of my exercise time. It's tough when as the Mom you are always taking are of others. I will figure out a routine though.

I was sleeved on the 3rd and most of my gas "chest pressure" is gone. I did use gas x for a few days and it helped. Not sure how you are passing gas, but the past few days I've been full of it and I feel so much better getting it out. I know tmi! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

September 2009 Band Date
smallerj replied to ashleysara's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi hope everyone is doing good...I am still having gas and runny green stuff (I know TMI) I have been taking gas x for the whole 9 days post op. I emailed my dr and I'm waiting for a response. My port site is still hurting but I hear it last 4-6 weeks, so hang in there. -
OK, I was able to pass by the cupcakes (which are still on the counter this morning). Maybe I'll be able to make it the rest of the day! By then the family would have them all eaten! My DH was sick last night so I didn't "get any" so I just took a shower instead....yeah, don't hear that from a woman too often, eh? I know, a little TMI, but I'm in a good mood....

Thank you so much for your response and it's not tmi - I'd really rather know in advance The fewer surprises the better!! I also wanted to say wow, your most recent post with photo's are staggering! Can I ask, how often do you work out now? And do you find you're more motivated because you're losing good weight or does it just get a bit easier cause you don't have to carry around as much excess weight? Thanks, Lila

Ever heard the phrase "TMI"?? :lalala:

CeCe - If you aren't at your sweet spot - go in for another fill and we just gotta say no to all the junk - it's not healthy. Linda - I think our honeymoon period is over - now our old brains are trying to re-surface... It's ok one slice of brownie is ok - well for us food addicts it isn't. Is one drink ok for an alcohalic??? Nope - This is what we have to remember - once we start - it's a little here - Oh i have it under control - but then the next day oh this little bit won't hurt - Most of us have already started this game playing (myself inculded) STOP STOP STOP SPOT !!!!!! We have the hardest period coming up - I have done this before during the holidays - and I have won - when you see that your fav piece of See's candy - look at it - look at the darn box and say I AM STRONGER THAN YOU.... Play good mind games like that - not the ones that tell you 1 piece is ok... Phyl I too retain water when traveling and get stopped up too (tmi ) I only drink when in social situations - but the problem with that is you have only 4 oz x 5 day a week we'll say -I drink all that in one evening at a party Thank God the next party is just down the street so i can stager home:D Ruby - JUST DON'T BUY IT THEN,.... Problem solved... Don't have it can't drink it :biggrin1: CC CONGRATS on the 2lbs :clap2::clap2: - the body bugg maybe a xmas present to myself - it just seems that the $$$$ is going out faster than it's coming in - but I think it would be a great challenge tool for me. Ribearty - :clap2: 4.5 LBS OMG THAT'S GREAT - what's your secert :biggrin1: Distant - I too hit the gym last nite - it IS the secert to weight loss besides the healthy eating - OK gang - I'm not going to keep tabs of the mini challenge - but all who want in let's report next Thursday 11/8 - your weight loss... Maybe we should all do this from now until the end of the year - We always don't look at each others tickers - maybe this will help in having to be accountable - That does help some - remember weigh in days at WW - omg - the couple days prior you would really watch what you ate. I know this doesn't fit all of us - but some of us need the accountablity factor - so those who do - Thursdays is Weigh in Day - Those who want will post their weight loss for the week?? Let me tell you ladies - sweet spot is Sweet but Difficult too... Ok that sounds stupid but let me explain - I can eat - but my portions have REALLY been cut in half - great for the weight loss - but hard on the brain - i am only able to eat 4 oz fish 1/4 c veg - and maybe stuff in a 1/3 c of brown rice - am really full phyically from just the fish but that stupid old brain says you haven't had enought to eat. Happy Friday - hope everyone is back on the Band Wagon - ...

Frustated and Janet- I am with you on the maintenance issue. I also don't have a clue on how to maintain weight. I had actually gone down to 181 and now am back up again to 185. Partly because I am so constipated ( sorry TMI ), today I took 5 MOM tablets and still nothing. I don't know what to do. Have tried Benefiber too and nothing. I might have to ask my dr. for a prescription. But anyways no way I am getting an unfill., I can see how that would lead to big time weight re-gain. Boy, this is all such a great learning experience!

I hope that it gives immediate relief. Sometimes I can't even eat cheese! Milk sours and separates in my pouch, and then stays there, sometimes until I have to throw it up TMI sorry. I really hope they don't take much out though. I REALLY don't want to gain!!! -

That's right Tracy, that's why sometimes I tell you guys a little TMI, or air dirty laundry that I'd ordinarily not discuss with anyone.. I know I can rely on you guys, and you all always have great advice for me. ((VIOLETS!))
