Some unexpected NSVs have me LOLing in public. You?
pink dahlia replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
Congratulations on all your NSV's ! It s the little things that count, right ? And since you asked .................. I have to tell this story because I think its hilarious, but my deepest apologies to any one that might be offended !! A few weeks ago my hubby and I were vacationing in upstate NY. As we were leaving the hotel one AM, I saw 2 ladies sitting together outside near their room ..( it was hot, I had a long red maxi dress on, looked nice ) As I walked near them to get to our car, I nodded and said a quiet " Good morning ." They both looked back at me, and one said in a kind of low, sexy voice, "Well,........... good morning !".. My hubby teased me all week long about my " girlfriends !" Im sure you get the picture, but we couldn't stop laughing about it !! You had to be there !! -
Just found some ankle length Rockstar jeans at old Navy on clearance for $15 a few days ago. And the Original jeans were on sale for 40%off. I went with the Rockstar cause they were cheaper. These are my first Jean purchase since way before surgery. (Nsv) my first 12s! I bought 2 and a size 10 to size down into. I haven't needed dress pants yet but i guess I'll cross that bridge when i get to it. Oh and im 5'2 and the jeans are truly ankle length.

FIVE WEEKS POST- OP - IT'S MOVING AGAIN
FluffyChix commented on mama3beartn's blog entry in MAMA3BEARTN ---,---'@ WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY
Congrats on busting your stall and doing so well at 5 weeks post op! Woot!!! Party! Don't you just love moving into a new decade? I always feel like, "Sayonara "old decade," smell ya later! Never!" And sometimes, it feels like forevs before you actually break out and through an existing decade. I thought the 260s were gonna be the death of me! It felt like they took forever. The 250s didn't feel as long, but took exactly the same number of days to break through! Sheesh! I love your NSV (belt moving thing). That feels better than any scale or measuring tape in the world. Right? And holy crap Batman! You walk 1 mile, 5 times a day? me=not worthy!!!! Gattlinburg vaca sounds fun. Do historical and music stuff. Do dancing and romance!! Have a blast!!! ((hugs)) -
Yesterday I did 20 min of cardio (10 bike, 10 elliptical) and all the weight machines. The girl at the gym "pushed" me, so I got a great workout. Tonight, I did 40 min of cardio (10 bike, 20 elliptical, 10 treadmill at an incline). Still eating very healthy and small amounts. I've been seeing a bunch of people I know at the gym, so that's been cool. Mostly work people. I'm going again tomorrow and I want to do Zumba again on Sunday. NSV: I wore a green suit that I haven't been able to wear in a long time and got tons of compliments at work!

GREAT NSV!!!!!!!!! so how did it go????

I just had to share! Several years ago, I got down to about 240. I tried on a pair of jeans from Lane Bryant that were a size 20 and was VERY surprised that they fit. Then I remembered that Old Navy has size 20, so my best friend and I went there to see if I fit into them. She's about a size 0, so I felt okay being in there because even if they didn't fit, I could pretend we were shopping for her. Well, they didn't fit, and, before I got down to that size, I started gaining weight again. It never happened, and my friend went back to Indiana (where she lives). Well, last Friday I was going by Old Navy again. I am only about 10 pounds lower than where I was before. I must be losing weight again because (and I have to put the caps lock on for this): NOT ONLY DID I FIT INTO THEIR CLOTHES, BUT I WASN'T EVEN THE LARGEST SIZE!!!!!!!!!! (okay, caps lock over). I couldn't believe it! I had to resist the urge to buy everything in the store! Okay, that's my coolest non-scale victory for me ever and I had to share. Thanks for reading!

The BEST NSV for me EVER!!!
chocolate_snaps replied to Jennie1976's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
AWESOME! Old Navy is tops! I cant wait till I can fit their 20's and 18's. I fit Xl's in their shirts but the bottoms are still a 2 sizes off. Gloucester, yes Lane Bryant has gone insane. I am so glad that I am leaving them. My Lapband broke us up. Pretty sweet NSV Jennie! -
Well maybe that was for the best, you never know. A friend of mine did it, and she waxed herself! I mean she did it on her own! Can you imagine how painful that must have been?? So anyway she does it....and it SO freaked her husband out that he pretty much couldn't get it up that night Not QUITE the effect she'd been going for Hey when you are post op, this can be one of your NSVs! I hope your husband appreciated your efforts.

Keep on paddling and stop drifting in the water....
julie.ann posted a blog entry in My Secret Journey
This weekend was a tough one for me. I cheated both Saturday and Sunday. I haven't eaten less than stellar for 2 days in a row since I was banded almost 6 months ago. I was doing well and the weight was dropping, but just like every other time I concetrated on my weight or a certain goal I started to drift in the water. It is like being out in the middle of ocean. If I look at how far I have to paddle my little boat to find dry land, I start to give up and think that drifting will eventually get me somewhere. It also happens when I paddle hard and when I have almost reached land I think that it won't hurt to take a little break for the day and before you know it I have drifted back a few miles (pounds). If I stop concentrating on all of that and just know that every day I have to paddle all of the sudden I look up and I am on the beach! Does any of that make sense to anyone but me? I have a stupid NSV for you. I bought a belt. Okay...that isn't it. I actually wore the belt yesterday with jeans and my shirt tucked in. I am starting to tuck in my shirts! That is another NSV. It only took losing 90 lbs to get me to that one! Well I have shared the fact that I had surgery with some of my friends. I did have one say during the conversation when I said that I am working hard she added that I couldn't have done it without the surgery. I know it is true, but there it was and I feel like it be-littles the hard work I am putting into my weight loss journey. She didn't mean it in a bad way and I'm sure doesn't think I gave the comment another thought. I know more people with think and say things like that as more people find out. There is part of me....a big part of me that wishes I would have just kept it to myself, but you can't unring a bell. I am still proud of what I have done and will continue to do it. I just have to remember to paddle........ everyday........ without fail........ I will be on the beach before I know it! -

OK, the best NSV ever LOL!!! Holy Cow girl...and a McCutey to boot (he was so hoping to be a McSteamy). That should boost your self-image over the moon! -BG (PS- the album link doesn't work) -
I am glad someone asked what NSV meant! I have lots to learn. That is great, sometimes better than the scale itself, good for you.

7 Weeks Banded-What To Eat? Oh And I Got A Puppy!
phatkatblue posted a blog entry in phatkatblue's blog
today makes 7 weeks banded for me...what a journey already! THE NUMBERS & NSVs jan 23-241-before pre-op diet feb 15-233 surgery day apr 4-212 i completed 30 minutes on the elliptical yesterday!!! it was my first time on that evil machine! it works the hell outta you! my pants are really baggy especially in the crouch and thigh areas:) tightly wearing a stretchy cotton XL shirt! THE SCALE-so i decided that i'd weigh in weekly because i was driving myself crazy with the scale. i was banded on a wednesday so my weigh in days are wednesdays. i joined the april weight loss challenge and the weigh in days are sundays so twice a week it is for april! this has been difficult for me because i was weighing multiple times daily! pure torture! FILL-i had my first fill last Friday and i am not sure how i feel about it (see previous post for details on the fill). there are times when i feel hungrier (real hunger) than i did before my fill...weird. i don't think i really needed a fill to begin with as i was not really feeling hungry and was still losing weight. i could only take an additional 2 cc's on top of the one that was added at surgery. i think i was expecting the fill to be some magical thing that would take over my body and create some type of change...and maybe that's what it's supposed to do, not sure yet. and maybe that's what it did, also not sure yet! i do know that the fill has made me think more about the way i am eating and i have been slowed down at least three times by my body telling me "you are eating too fast" and "that's enough". so the fill is working...i just don't understand why i feel physical hunger more now...any ideas? going to see my surgeon next week for my 2 month check-up...i'll see what he has to say about this... FOOD-i have been super consumed with thoughts of food ever since i was given the green light to be on step 4...which is basically the step where you can eat like a normal person...but i feel that i can't really because i don't know what that is. i talked with a fellow band mate that was banded a year ago and she suggested that i go back to eating the way i did before the band as she had. you know, eat regular like we all did before the band!!! NOW WAY! my eating habits pre-band were horrible and there is no way i'm doing that again i don't care how little i can eat...there will be no fried anything, no pizza, no chips, no sweets, and no "bad carbs"...these are all my downfall...as an overweight person i KNOW what to eat, but as an overweight person in recovery i feel lost. i crave the flavor that is crammed into all the bad stuff and i am not much of cook so this has been difficult. i am also one of those folks that eats rather simply, meaning i eat the same stuff over and over and don't do much to expand my menus:/ this is a major goal for me...MAJOR... YUM-i went to starbucks for the first time since january and ordered a skinny decaf vanilla latte--120 cals...can't become a habit, but it was good:) PUPPY-hubby and i were walking with our 2 year old black lab miles and a family was moving and asked us of we wanted another lab...we were like "noooo". they said they couldn't take her to their new place and were going to take her to the pound...they said she was current on her shots and was house broken...so we looked at her and the next thing i know we are walking home with two dogs! she is six months and we named her daisy!! happy spring all...until next week...in weight loss and beyond -
Are you happy with your sleeve
GastricSleeve2018 replied to Sassytallgurl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm back again. I am getting all my fluids in, pooped (tmi but the best NSV right after surgery), walking around the block 1x a day, walking a lot in my house, etc. 198 lbs down from 220. Sleeved June 11th. I do not regret this one bit. I wish I would have cared more when I started getting fat. Alas, this is the best tool for weight loss. -

I got dressed for work from my boyfriends this a.m. It was a day that I just did not feel like wearing what I had packed to wear. Just wasn't in the mood - if you can relate. :sick In a bag in the corner of the dressing room, I had a pair of really cute cropped pants from Avenue size 16. I bought them two weeks ago, to hold onto them for 'someday'...b/c I got a great deal on them. I thought "Hmmmmm". So I figured with a little luck....BINGO. In the pants with plenty of room. Not too tight - but PERFECT. I astonished myself! Size 16? ME? No, couldn't be. So I took them off to double check the tag. Sure enough!! I bought them in The Avenue, so naturally they're a woman's 16. But SO WHAT! They're mine, and the fit! So now, the plan after work is to go and buy other colors! lol Maybe I'll get one size 14, for 'someday'. :whoo::clap2::whoo::clap2::whoo:

Another NSV in my Levi's! Today I wore my new Levi's to hairdresser. I was there to get my daughter and her friend's hair cut and highlighted. There was a man who came in to measure the windows for tinting. After I paid and we all went to the car, my daughter's friend said "Bobby (DH) better watch out, that guy sure was checking you out." I haven't been "checked out" in a very long time!

Congrats, Mary! I absolutely LOVE Levi's. They are so comfortable. I had a similar Levi's NSV last week. I fit into 3 styles of size 13 Juniors Levi's (below). I didn't buy any but it felt good! Slouch Flare 504™ Jeans (Juniors) (These are a lot like the Levi's I'm wearing in my "after" pics from March and June - www.triciakutz.com/surgery.html) Outlaw Flare Jeans (Juniors) Nomad Slouch Flare 504™ Jeans (Juniors)

I went to Kohl's again yesterday. This time to try on jeans. For the first time in my whole entire life, I bought two pair of Levi's Jeans. Even at my skinniest 100 pounds (1980) I couldn't squeeze my thighs into a pair of Levi's. I know that Levi's come in relaxed fit, boot cut, low ride, and so on now that they didn't have in 1980, but I still got excited about owning my first ever pair of Levi's. I almost forgot to mention... size 10! Pre-band I was wearing Lane Bryant Cords size 20. Toot! Toot! :clap2:

You really are rockin your sleeve!! NSV feel great and I know you wil continue to have them!!!! -
FAIR WARNING: TMI ALERT! TMI ALERT! I had THREE consecutive nsv's today, and they all had to do with a flight to San Antonio. First of all, since the beginning of the pre op diet, then surgery, I've lost 34 pounds. Today, I saw the fruit of my labors. NSV #1: I went into the public bathroom at the airport, and the handicap stall was full, so I went into the teeny cramped one, hoping I (TMI! TMI!) didn't need to do a "twosey" because I can't reach the necessary location on my anatomy for proper cleansing unless I'm in the big stall. (I hope some of you know what I mean so i'm not a total freak!) Well, it turns out I would have had COMPLETE access to the necessary area!! HOORAAAAYYYY!!!! #2: I sat down in the airplane and BUCKLED MY SEATBELT!!!!!!! AAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! AAAANNNND......... #3: Put the tray table DOWN!!! WOOOOO!!!!! UH HUH!! OH YA!!! UH HUH!!! OH YA!!! (then my day went downhill at dinnertime, but that's a different post! Still happy though!)
