Need help with the LBT acronyms

Hey Vicki, I'm fairly new here but I can help on a few. NSV=non scale victory i.e. when an old pair of jeans fits better, when you can see ur toes...that kind of stuff where you know u have lost some weight but it's not necessarily weight off the scale. PB=productive burp....you can do a search for this and find lots of threads that explain what it is, but basically its when food gets stuff and you burp it back up or push it back down. (I think) DH=dear husband, or DS dear son, or DD dear daughter...you get the picture. and the Ils im not sure about.......
  2. 1st of all...welcome! &...we'll be your cheer section!!! Stick to the diet. The weight will fly off when you're not looking, especially with the Protein shakes & non-starchy veggies. Celebrate your NSV s & ignore the naysayers. Just stay on track & you'll make your next 15#. You still have a couple weeks, so just don't let the nag voice in your head mess with you.

    Nsv At Work

good for you Scully that's a huge NSV - hard to watch people in your office "chow" down with goodies ps - rootman, if i were a betting person, i would say 5'3 probably refers to a dudette i know a guy could be vertically challanged too - but i'll take odds that Scully is 5'3 - ok Scully, give us the poop
  4. Whooo Hooo! Today is my birthday and I fit into size 22 pants down from size 24/26. And I wore them to work. And everyone noticed I lost weight. And I felt really good about all the attention. And I have the biggest butt on the planet but (butt) I will be size 20 or even size 18 by the end of September!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin1: I don't weigh myself because my scale is possessed by some skinny person who must have stepped on it in the store before I bought it. It also lies. I get weighed at the hospital when I go in for meetings and such so its about 2-4 times a month. Their scale does not lie not even if you bribe it. Ever since I joined LBT I wanted to post about an NSV, I am so excited. It takes the edge off of getting older eeeeekkkkk! So Happy NSV and birthday to me! :kiss2:

    NSV - and a ticket!

Driving while Hispanic?! melissa130- NSV=Non Scale Victory. It's a victory you have with weight loss that is not tied to the scale.
  9. I started at 265..I now weigh 161.50 I was morbidly obese and I am now considered in the "normal" BMI range I do not let what the scale says dictate to me my success with the band. I have so many fantastic NSV"s to be greatful for. The numbers o nthe scale mean nothing to me compared to how great I feel and how I have my life back.

    ABC -- May 2007 Chat

I'm there too guys, I think I'm getting too comfortable in my own skin because last month I only lost 2lbs But hey, its better than none I guess. I've been focusing on school, I have my last final tomorrow and then I hope to be able to focus on ME more. I bought a tankini bathing suit for this summer and I love it so thats my NSV for the month Anyone else started shopping for that yet??
  11. Pre-surgery I would avoid doing too much on a day where we were going dancing so that I wouldn't wear myself out. Yesterday I suggested we pack down the camper van. I suggested a bike ride and pushed hard for 18km. And then went out and danced and danced the night away. Woo hoo!

    NSV i was not expecting

Amen! I celebrated a NSV yesterday too... went to my one year check up (everything was great) and then had to go have lab work done. I always dread the lab work...no the actual stick itself...but the sitting in the lab chair. Yesterday as I sat down I realized that I had plenty of room in the chair...no longer did I have to squeeze or sit sideways!! It's a good feeling to fit places now!! Happy for your NSV!!
  14. I just broke into my first pair of size 10's!!! I'm having to get rid of all my 16's now and I can fit all 14's. I can fit half my 12's too... LOL YAYYYY!!!! I bought a cute bathing suit for summer, the top is a M and the bikini skirt (with a slit ) is a Large. I bought a Medium as well so I can go down a bit more. Anyway, it fits perfect!! I can wrap a towel all the way around my whole body!!! I'm feeling good folks!!! Those NSV's are rocking my world right now... haaa!!! THANK YOU SLEEVE!!!!!!!!

I love these NSV! They are so important and I needed a chortle for the day! My new word of the day is chortle. It's that kind of word that just puts a smile on your face! I enjoy being able to share all these things with each other, makes my day!

Congratulations on all your NSV's ! It s the little things that count, right ? And since you asked .................. I have to tell this story because I think its hilarious, but my deepest apologies to any one that might be offended !! A few weeks ago my hubby and I were vacationing in upstate NY. As we were leaving the hotel one AM, I saw 2 ladies sitting together outside near their room ..( it was hot, I had a long red maxi dress on, looked nice ) As I walked near them to get to our car, I nodded and said a quiet " Good morning ." They both looked back at me, and one said in a kind of low, sexy voice, "Well,........... good morning !".. My hubby teased me all week long about my " girlfriends !" Im sure you get the picture, but we couldn't stop laughing about it !! You had to be there !!

    Hey Short Ladies!

Just found some ankle length Rockstar jeans at old Navy on clearance for $15 a few days ago. And the Original jeans were on sale for 40%off. I went with the Rockstar cause they were cheaper. These are my first Jean purchase since way before surgery. (Nsv) my first 12s! I bought 2 and a size 10 to size down into. I haven't needed dress pants yet but i guess I'll cross that bridge when i get to it. Oh and im 5'2 and the jeans are truly ankle length.

FIVE WEEKS POST- OP - IT'S MOVING AGAIN

Congrats on busting your stall and doing so well at 5 weeks post op! Woot!!! Party! Don't you just love moving into a new decade? I always feel like, "Sayonara "old decade," smell ya later! Never!" And sometimes, it feels like forevs before you actually break out and through an existing decade. I thought the 260s were gonna be the death of me! It felt like they took forever. The 250s didn't feel as long, but took exactly the same number of days to break through! Sheesh! I love your NSV (belt moving thing). That feels better than any scale or measuring tape in the world. Right? And holy crap Batman! You walk 1 mile, 5 times a day? me=not worthy!!!! Gattlinburg vaca sounds fun. Do historical and music stuff. Do dancing and romance!! Have a blast!!! ((hugs))

    Working out

Yesterday I did 20 min of cardio (10 bike, 10 elliptical) and all the weight machines. The girl at the gym "pushed" me, so I got a great workout. Tonight, I did 40 min of cardio (10 bike, 20 elliptical, 10 treadmill at an incline). Still eating very healthy and small amounts. I've been seeing a bunch of people I know at the gym, so that's been cool. Mostly work people. I'm going again tomorrow and I want to do Zumba again on Sunday. NSV: I wore a green suit that I haven't been able to wear in a long time and got tons of compliments at work!

    A very ironic NSV

GREAT NSV!!!!!!!!! so how did it go????
  24. I just had to share! Several years ago, I got down to about 240. I tried on a pair of jeans from Lane Bryant that were a size 20 and was VERY surprised that they fit. Then I remembered that Old Navy has size 20, so my best friend and I went there to see if I fit into them. She's about a size 0, so I felt okay being in there because even if they didn't fit, I could pretend we were shopping for her. Well, they didn't fit, and, before I got down to that size, I started gaining weight again. It never happened, and my friend went back to Indiana (where she lives). Well, last Friday I was going by Old Navy again. I am only about 10 pounds lower than where I was before. I must be losing weight again because (and I have to put the caps lock on for this): NOT ONLY DID I FIT INTO THEIR CLOTHES, BUT I WASN'T EVEN THE LARGEST SIZE!!!!!!!!!! (okay, caps lock over). I couldn't believe it! I had to resist the urge to buy everything in the store! Okay, that's my coolest non-scale victory for me ever and I had to share. Thanks for reading!

The BEST NSV for me EVER!!!

AWESOME! Old Navy is tops! I cant wait till I can fit their 20's and 18's. I fit Xl's in their shirts but the bottoms are still a 2 sizes off. Gloucester, yes Lane Bryant has gone insane. I am so glad that I am leaving them. My Lapband broke us up. Pretty sweet NSV Jennie!
