Eating at 5 weeks post op
tenseintexas replied to Anabean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Anabean I am 5 1/2 weeks out and I have one shake a day and then put a scoop of GENEPRO in something for another meal .....sigh. I hate the shakes and it's a pain to drink them but that's the only way to get the Protein for me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

GENEPRO works for me!!! Blood work right on target....life saver when I could not gag anything else down. I love it!....everyone has their right of opinion. ..I think it is great. -
I can only say how genepro helped me. I went back 2 work 2 weeks after surgery and genepro saved my life because it was the only thing I could keep down and my blood pressure started to get better after I began to take this and I still take it.

My Hunger Has Returned!!
bossportsgal replied to jessjames's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was using genepro but my NUT said stay away. It's false advertising. And that it's impossible to get 32 G protein in I tbls. I went back to injury unflavored. Little flavor but not bad at all. -

Id like to try Devotion Nutrition's angel food cake and their flex flavors. But, I've been using GenePro. 30 grams protein in 1 tablespoon. -
100% whey protein isolate

I like Isopure and GENEPRO. I have to have Whey Isolate because I'm lactose intolerant. Isopure is really good mixed with almond milk. Genepro only comes flavorless. Isopure - 1 scoop has 110 calories, 3 gram carb, 0 sugars, 25g protien. Genepro - 1 scoop has 98 calories, 0 carbs, 0 sugars, 30g protien. -
Unflavored Protein Powder to Sprinkle Over Food?
Spooney replied to Spooney's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for the help! I have been using protein powder from Bariatric Advantage, but adding an entire scoop to something is FAR too much-and alters the flavor terribly. I just ordered Genepro from Amazon. -
Genepro Flavorless Protein Powder
Samara1974 replied to Heidijenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I searched the net and here is the link I found http://shopmusclegen.com/genepro-sample?search=Genepro+ I bought a jar and it is flavorless I add it to Protein shakes and juice. It does smell but no flavor. -
It's called GENEPRO...I love it so far. On another hand I hope you feel better soon as well. Everybody is different when having this surgery. I've heard so many different stories...me myself I think it was pretty good...I didn't have a lot of pain and I feel normal now at 14days post-op. Walk, walk, walk that should help with some pain. GOODLUCK????

December bypass buddies
SassyMedic replied to sunnydeeliteful's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm having the Black Bean Soup now and it is really good! For the first time I feel like I'm actually eating! It has a good bit of black pepper in it so that's going to make it hard waiting to drink my water! I know I'm not going to hit my Protein goal today at all. I wanted to try the soup before adding the GENEPRO to it first to make sure I like it! I will try adding a scoop at dinner tonight! -
Hard time getting protein in! Help please!
OhioSparkle posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm 6 weeks out. I'm having no issues getting water in, but eating is a whole other story. I'm really struggling. I'm lucky if I eat one small Okios 15g protein yogurt a day. I have tried new foods, but 95% of things tend to cause pain in my stomach area, and then about 10 minutes later, I'm vomiting. I'm almost scared to even eat anymore. Does anyone have suggestions for me? Do you all use Genepro or Isopure? Yogurt and Potatoes are really the only thing my stomach likes. I'm getting scared because I know my body is not getting enough nutrients. -
I've heard of some people naming their sleeves (Frankensleeve, Sherman, Miss Diva), and I actually named mine, even though she hasn't been "born" yet. Almost like anticipating a new baby (does that make me weird? lol). Since some also consider their surgery date their new birthday, too! I made myself an adorable box that I'm keeping all my post op necessities in like GENEPRO, Biotene mouth spray, a new thermometer, Gas-X strips, flavored Protein samples, mini food containers for work, even a Glade plug-in for my hospital room (thanks Elode!). I even got an adorable gastric sleeve keychain. So, here's to "Verti" my sleeve to-be! Did you name yours?

Unflavored Protein question
ShelterDog64 replied to Christina.Rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Christina.Rose I purchased several unflavored Protein powders and tried them pre-op. At that time I thought unjury and Syntrax were the best. Isopure's unflavored variety smelled horrible to me and I could taste it. Post-op it was a different story...I used Isopure's low-carb chocolate powder a little, but it's got a weird chemical taste that I just don't like. The unflavored Isopure remains my least favorite. I became sensitive to the smell and taste of both Unjury and Syntrax unflavored, I don't like the Unjury chicken broth, either but do like the citrus flavors of Syntrax Nectars. My hands-down favorite unflavored protein is GENEPRO. I can't smell or taste it in food or drinks and it doesn't bother my stomach. I've been using it for 5 months and am losing very well with it. I recently bought a container of Quest unflavored just to see what it's like and I had to return it to GNC. It was disgusting. -
Had my surgery 3/29 as well. My surgeon has me on clear liquids for 10 days, full liquids would start tomorrow [Fri 7th] but I started today. I had to have something else. I woke up this morning and was just dragging my feet, like it actually took effort for me to pick my feet up as I walked instead of shuffle around. Full liquids is 10 days, soft/blended is minimum of 10 days and once I tolerate everything well in that phase then I can move on to the next. I haven't had any problems getting liquids down. Even managed about 100 oz on two separate days [no joke]. I tried an Atkin's shake today w/ 1/2 tablespoon Genepro added to up the protein from 15g to 30g and it went down smooth... and stayed there. I will say I can only have 2 oz of the protein shake before I'm done, I may even decrease it to one ounce because I get full. So I've definitely had a harder time getting my water in with the protein shake today. I plan on putting myself on a schedule to help. I'll see how it goes.

My old standby at work, I get a cup of hot water out of the Keurig, plop a Wyler’s bouillon cube in there, add my Genepro protein and I have a yummy chicken soup for lunch. 😆

Is genepro safe? Anyone had any complication due to it ? I purchased it because I saw so many good reviews ,but in a fb group two members told me it causes leaks ??? Sounds crazy but now I’m nervous ? FYI I already drink premier and clear protein I’m just tired of the “sweet proteins” .
-
I got Genepro from Amazon on Prime Deliery. Today is the first day i used it and i feel oh so good about getting all my protein in before i leave work. Now i can focus the rest of my night on water intake since i still have about 30 ounces to go.. and if i really want something i will have a popcicle.

September Sleevers
SassyNanny replied to ANewMe9/21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Genepro makes a crystallized protein whey that is odorless and tasteless. Mixed with hot or cold. It was very sick of sweet too. Now I can add it to blended soup I'm a happy girl. Btw. I had used progresso soups for years and knew they were high in sodium. A whole can was about 1500g. I got some regular old Campbell's cream of chicken. Didn't thin it out just heated it up. The can had 4400g of sodium. I was flabbergasted. -
@@layknee at my hospital they kept bugging me about my fluids, and trying to bribe me telling me if I do this I can go home. I finally got mad and told them if they are going to discharge me based on my liquids then please leave because I can't get it down yet and your bribes are getting annoying and I feel like you're kicking me out and I'm not ready. The doctor was so annoying and I felt like I was going to explode. At my hosital they didn't do a drip test or anything. I just couldn't drink anything for 24 hours after surgery, then it was the 1oz every hour for 4 hours, then 2oz every hour for 2 hours, then 3oz every hour for 3 hours, then when you could do 4, it was time to be discharged. I couldn't drink protein either. My genepro arrived as I was walking in from the hospital so I got some in today, I made a shake and then mixed genepro with diet snapple. I really feel so full, but I can drink water very fast.

Got my Genepro in and have mixed it with orange juice and chicken broth so far. It mixes great and can't taste it. I think I'm in love

Hey There! Any December 2021 Surgery Friends?
Jai D replied to armartin98's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found that pudding went down the easiest and was the most filling post op. Pudding also counts toward your fluid intake as it’s a full liquid. Not sure if you are past the clear phase but I would suggest you try sugar free pudding and maybe some Genepro to add to your liquids. Soup also helped me get my fluids in. Drink a little .. take a break.. drink more.. repeat.. best of luck!
