I am roughly 11 weeks out and have experienced this as well. There doesn't seem to be one specific trigger(dairy, sweets, etc.); so far it's just been kind of random after-i-eat sort of thing. I was vomiting for the first two weeks after surgery and surgeon said some foods can just trigger a "dumping" effect. I guess my body is just picky sometimes, because I've tried eating things that have caused it before and sometimes I'm fine, others not so much. TMI warning: the other day I tried a Protein bar I ordered from the BariatricPal Store that I've never tried before for a "lunch on the run" and within an hour, I was RUNNING for the bathroom. Maybe TMI but today has been a terrible day for me. I have had gas pains and terrible gas all day long. My stomach feels swollen and I feel miserable. When I get the pains they feel like contractions they hurt so bad! I am 9 weeks post op, down 54 lbs but really wish I felt better than this. Anyone else???

Sorry if this is TMI, or griss, but did anyone else experience a change in their menstrual cycle after surgery? I am just a little over 2 weeks out and have my first period since surgery and the pain is excruciating. The worst cramps I have ever had in my life. Has anyone else experienced this?

What's the 1st thing
BurNingBriDget replied to Angie74's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg!!! Tmi maybe but doing that with the lights on. My husband is amazing and says that he doesn't care what size I am just that I'm happy. After reading a few of these posts I have found that there are a lot of married women that don't have that and it's super duper sad. Amen to the reverse cowboy!!! Ruth1less we are so much alike. TMI. Warning: I had blood in my stool and urin. Went to the doctors and they said I was bleeding and asked if I had consumed alcohol. Lol My consumption was mindless.. and it hurt when I drank it. -
Hey there! i had my surgery on the 8th! im having to work up to 64. im probably getting about the same amount in. My nutritionist told me he'd rather me concentrate on my fluids than making sure to get ALL my protein intake. My Doctor told me today that if I was getting all 64 in by now, she would have been shocked. So if you are only 5 days out, I wouldn't worry. just do the best you can and that is all you can do. I'm having trouble myself, but the consequence to not getting all the liquids is constipation. TMI I'm sure, but i'm already having that issue. Hope this helps!!

Hello I was banded April 4 2015. Down 28 pounds. I'm getting closer to the max fills that my band can take and Ito has been a struggle. The highest weight loss I had was when the fill was too much and I was missable for 3 days and unable to eat or drink. They remove that fill and I kept what I lost for a month. Later in I got a tiny fill it was good for a few days but lately I feel it tighter and can't experiment with anything as I get stuck constantly On Monday I'm getting littl fluid out Night time are the worst if I eat at night then I can't sleep as I get up to vomit or saliva coming out for my nose ( sorry about the tmi) but I need to speak with someone that can understand me. I don't feel I'm eating healthy. When I was heavier I think I ate better. Please help

I don't know if I am experiencing dumping syndrome or not. But I had TMi; vomitting and diarhea for over 12 hours. or due to me not eating enough, and eating the wrong foods :S or simply the 24 hour bug. I had no incidences now for 3 hours. I can keep food and water down now. So I hope this not fun day has passed. Update: Other then today, everything is going great. Down 27 lbs now. Trying to do a bit of cardio, I was supposed o strength train but my body had other plans. Soon going to add my 2 month measurements

CC Oh and I drink over a gallon of Water a day. So its definitely not a dehydration thing. CC

Week 3 post op & only lost 3 lbs this week - is this normal?
Mrs_O replied to Athenyx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tomorrow will be three weeks from my surgery. I went the other day from the milk of mag and it wasn't solid (sorry if TMI) now I feel life I have to go and it would be regular but it still hasn't happened yet. We shall see. I'm not really uncomfortable from it but I don't want any bad backups or anything -
Hello I just recently had a stomach virus which was absolutely awful. It was coming out both ends(sorry TMI). Anyways I was dry heaving and vomiting (mostly just liquids no hunks of food). Now, I am sore in my chest area and am hoping all is okay with my band. I was unable to eat the whole day I was sick. I was able to eat a few bites of salad w/grilled chicken and then I was full and some food was coming back up. Should I stick with shakes, and soft foods for the next day or 2?

I stay very hydrated and my bloodwork is perfect... and I've been experiencing this as well. It was always a joke between me and my boyfriend that I should "just carry a towel around with me" Tomorrow will be 6 months post op from my RNY, and I'm unfortunately still having dryness issues. This is a whole lot of tmi but since we're on the subject I may as well explain what my gyno said about it. I find that even if I can "get going", if I have an orgasm mid-sex, I immediately get dry again. This is an indication that it's a hormonal thing, given my age and the deviation from my normal. She has had other patients with this exact issue, and said it usually eventually returns to normal. It may also be something as simple as a hydration issue, as others have said. Your body is using a lot of Water to lose weight so it may be hesitant to "waste water" on lubrication, as she put it. Being a female sure is fun, eh? XD

2 Week Liquid Pre-Op Diet has started...and probably TMI
iamshazza posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I started the pre-op liquid diet on Friday the 12th. My band is empty (I think? The PA took out 5.25 on 2/11, but I'm pretty sure I had 8 or so. He said he got all he could). It's been a little challenging. I did eat 3 peanut M&M's and a few macadamia nuts over the weekend. I did better than I thought considering my sisters are eating all the good food I would LOVE to eat. Rude. However, I've lost 5 lbs so far and that makes me quite happy. I'm really thrilled to see the number on the scale going down, so that's enough for me to keep soldiering on and do even better. It will still be hard, very very hard, but so, so, SO worth it. And by the time I have the surgery and I'm on liquids for a month after that, then purees for a month, then soft for a month...I should have all those nasty carbs out of my system when I get to solid foods and it will be easier to make the healthy choices I should. I've been there before and I'm positive I can get back Now to the TMI portion... I cannot stay out of the bathroom!! It seems almost constant. I finally got some kaopectate yesterday. I guess this is a normal occurrence when you're on these high Protein Meal Replacement shakes, but my word is it awful. It seems a bit better today thankfully. -
Those were all of my selfish reasons for wanting the surgery but I had major health problems that finally pushed me to get it. I love being able to buy cute clothes and get cute bathing suits. I feel so healthy more than I feel skinny. I have more energy and it has been great for my libido. Husband is thrilled (sorry TMI

Yes, I urinate less and it's not as clear as before. It was like Water but now it's resembling urine ???? (I know tmi) LOL I had a BM yesterday and it was scary but so necessary. I haven't taken anything to force one, it came on its on. My doctor did say if we didn't have one for a bit not to be concerned as there is not much to come out at this stage. -
Gross Bathroom Question
LisaMergs replied to birdiestofbirds's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! From experience I can tell you that you should be taking pericolace or Miralax. Long before the Opiod Induced Constipation commercials that recently came out, I was a huge sufferer! I'm talking worse than you could possibly imagine. For me at that time it was caused by the pain meds I took for my rheumatoid arthritis. Now that I'm preparing for my RNY my nurse went over the do's and don't -s with me and those two are on the top of her list to use. I believe you need to stay away from a few like Metamucil or some such because they are gelatinous and can plug your stoma. Neither of these will affect your body's ability to go down the road. Believe me- you don't want to deal with the horrid fissures that can occur from chronic constipation. Those do not go away and the best way to describe it is to consider passing razor blades daily. Sorry if it was tmi but really- help yourself now before it is too late! -
Surgery day!
southernbelleAU replied to southernbelleAU's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gas has continued to give me trouble for the last couple of days. I'm home now and last night was a somewhat peaceful night. The key is to stay on track with pain meds. I've been adding a Tylenol to the pain pill to help it last longer and it seems to be doing the trick. Walking has helped with the gas stuck in my abdomen, however, it has slowly come out on its own..sorry if tmi lol any bit of relief is a win in my book. I'm staying hydrated. Seems to be doing good, just still tired. Started back taking my vitamins today as well as getting some protein in. Protein was too much at first when I got home..it made me dry heave pretty bad. But can now tolerate it. Hoping for continued progress!! -

Perk we have similar stats do you feel like the first 60 came off easily (following your plan) or have you really had to work at it? Molly I can hardly contain my excitement for you. Friday will be here before you know it. Hopefully there won't be any snow issues for you to contend with. Our schools in KY are closed today. I have one week before my last appointment. Are you still liking the premeire shakes? I have been drinking shakes and trying not to eat/drink at the same time. I have found that if I don't drink while I'm eating I seem to stop eating sooner so I can set my timer for a drink and then usually end up not eating as much. I have been doing this since Saturday and I'm down 4 pounds. I have had been eating low carb and no soda as well. I told my husband we were going to eat out every night the week before starting the liquid diet and he gave me "the look" so I suggested maybe just one night...lol He is super supportive and always asking where I'm at in the process. He has always loved me for me, so it will be nice to give him the Lisa 2.0 version. I hear so many people say surgery changes their sex drive (probably TMI) I think my husband is looking forward to finding out if this is true...lol Hang in there with the head hunger, you are so close! -
Prices and surgeons in European please
perforce replied to robbie&kaitlyn's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I leave hospital tomorrow, stay in a hotel for a night and fly back on Monday. I have some Vitamin sprays for at home, but actually the hospital has been giving me my acid blocker in pill form, as well as my sleeping pill, so as long as it's not too big and you're careful not to gulp Water to swallow them, it seems to be fine? I got some great travel toiletries from Sainsbury's because air france charges for checked luggage so I didn't want to be check anything in, but it meant I could only have liquids in that clear plastic bag so I had to downsize. Depending on if you're robbie or kaitlyn you may want to bring sanitary pads and tampons, surgery can mess with your cycle so it shows up unexpectedly. I was expecting mine, but had to wear a tampon in surgery. If you're robbie, sorry for the TMI. -
You have been warned! So I started my period 1 week before surgery I have been flowing for 22 days. I'm tired of it. Anyone else go through this? I have a lady doc appointment Monday but good grief enough already.
