Yea I would say go to the beach but with what just happened with your incision I would hold off on that! I'm down 55 lbs so far. i'm a pretty steady loser. Down 29 lbs already? Wow. That is so awesome. Have you gone down a size in clothing already? I lost so fast in my upper body and now my body is starting to shift. It's weird. I"m a size 18/20 on top and a 24 on bottom. 24's are starting to get too big on me so soon I'll be in size 22. I haven't worn size 22 in 10 years. I can't wait! It will be weird the day I no longer have to shop in the plus size clothing section. That hasn't happened since I was 15! Well have a good one. Glad your incision is OK hope it heals good for you! my son was 10 pounds 8 ounces...my dr. made me have a c-section...a c-section is nothing compared to a tuck...the drains alone had me freaked out...i thought i was going to die after my c-section...until i met with the ol tummy tuckster...that was mind blowing pain...

Thanks. I'm at my doctor's goal weight for me, but I would love to be 10-15 pounds lighter. I'm hoping next year, after I get my foot fixed and can run again, maybe I'll get there. I'm having surgery this Tuesday, the 17th. I have found that running is the ONLY exercise that reshapes my body, including my stomach. As soon as I stopped running my stomach poofed back out. I did the Couch to 5K twice now, I LOVE that program. It takes a 100% NON-runner and gets you running a 5k in 9 weeks. There are a couple of podcasts out there to help you through it. I'm going to start it again after the first.

You should feel a little better after your fill. You're entering bandster hell. It's short lived, don't worry. If you have a good doctor who keeps up with your fills, you'll do great. It's all in the aftercare with the band.

Hi Julian. Well actually the 30 lbs is from post op until now. IT's really 36. I lost 19 lbs from surgery until my first check up on November 2nd. I WISH it was 30 lbs since surgery.

My Dr. was Dr. Reich for Southern Ocean County Bariatrics in Manahawkin. He's also a great doctor as well as his staff.

I am feeling awesome and am really not that hungry. I'm on the mushies right now. How are you feeling?

Hi there! I'm having a heck of a time figuring out the private messaging feature, so apologies for just responding now. Things are going well. I weighed in last night at 199.8 (OMG, I haven't seen this site of 200 in 6 years!!!) I had my surgery on 10/21, so total lost since then is 13.2 lbs. I've been told that's "atypical", so I'm expecting not to be losing much more in the coming weeks until my first fill which won't be probably won't be until mid to late December. Maybe Santa can bring me my first fill for Christmas LOL!

How are you feeling? Are you back to work? This freaking puree stage is killing me, but I think a couple of great friends on here that are going through this at the same time will get us all through.

Yeah it is tricky im not used to this either, but yeah my goal for now is 160. This has been a very ruff time for me sticking with mushy's and eating right. I think the pre op liquid diet and liquid diet for 8 days after surgery diet was starving so long I just wanna eat anything I can right now and im messing up big time. I feel like crying and I feel like a failure right now. I am 3 wks out now had surgery 10/14/09 and feeling like I should of had gastric I haven't had a fill yet I have that on the 16th of this month and I hope I haven't messed up my band. Sorry I just wanted to vent a lilttle forget the ticker lol lol.

You look GREAT!! I am now Post Op- I had my surgery on 10/30/09 and doing good. I lost 14 lbs on my 2 week liquids and I got so excited about that. I can't wait for the change in my life. Take Care & keep up the good work.

Please could you advise me? Banded 16/10/2009 things healing nicely, Little gas pain but feeling healthier, sleeping easier. A couple of days ago blue stitches came out and the ends were cut off the clear dissolvable stitches, but the jagged end caught my top and pulled some of the clear stitch out by my long scar. I cut the bit sticking out off. Yesterday I was twisting to get inside the car felt a pain in my side. When I got out I could hardly walk, it got easier as I eventually got to lay down, couldn't at first it was too painful. I feel like I may have pulled a muscle? I took pain killers through the night. I can walk, get up and about now but the pain is still there but not so intense. Is this ok? I am travelling to Belfast tomorrow to work for 3 days and I am a little concerned as it is more painful now than it was before. Seeing Doc on 27 Nov

The pregnancy is a bit depressing. I worked so hard to lose the weight; I am really struggling with my growing belly... which REALLY upset's Dr. C. He said "I remember when you came in here and this was all fat... now it's all baby". I am so tired of people asking if it's twins... No I'm just fat! While I'm very fortunate not to have gained any weight. I already look like I have a basketball in my stomach and I'm only 10 weeks. The comments from my co-workers etc... is very disheartening. On a positive note... 8 lbs is FANTASTIC! Congrats! You are doing so wonderful. I will keep my fingers crossed and you in my prayers about your weight loss prior to his birthday party. Are you exercising? What are you eating? How are you feeling aside from the adjustment discomfort/sickness? I hope you are doing great and look forwarding to keeping in touch!

I have to tell you it was the best thing i have ever done and if it were to somehow fail I would get it done again in a heart beat and I was a self pay $18,000. Good luck and keep me posted! Omg I am sooo coming by today!!! I will be there around 11 or so. I have a job interview at 10. You need some face to face encouragement and you DID do the right thing!! This will be over before you know it and a year from now you won't even remember this stage you will be so happy with your new self See you in a few hours.

Hi Laura! It has been a while. I have not been on here for a while either! Wow, 49 lbs.! That is amazing!! Keep up the good work! I am at 35 lbs now, but things have been at a standstill for the last 2 months. I am scheudled for a fill this Friday, 10/30. Hopefully that will get things going again. Some days I can eat pretty good, probably about 1/2 of what I used to eat and then other days it is so tight and I have trouble eating anything solid. My doctor says this is normal. Do you have this happen to you? I just don't want to be too tight...that is my worst fear. So, to lose gradually is okay with me. I joined a gym and have been exercising regularly now, so I am just stumped as to why the weight loss stopped. I am very excited though to be at the weight that I am, but looking forward to the next step down. Size 12, here I come!!! Take care!

Hi Tracy, I used to live in the DC area. I've been banded for 10 weeks now. I"ve had one fill and will have another fill this week. Hopefully this one will give me more restriction, I'm able to eat too much right now thus slowing down my weight loss. Let me know when you're banded

HI!! Im newlay banded (10 days ago) and ive been searching thru this website and i have to say i checked out all your pics and you look AMAZING!!!! I too am 5'10 and would LOOVE to look like you!! If you dont mind me asking, what was your starting weight??? Im 275 (which people dont believe cause i guess i got the height!!!) and wanna get down to about 175...soo 100 lbs to loose!! anyway, you look great and congrats!!!! keep the pics coming...they are inspiration!!!!

Hello! Sad to say I'm not really exercising. I started taking swimming lessons this week and have made sad attempts w/ the elliptical machine I have at home. Hmmm, I can tell you what a typical day of eating is like.

8:00a - protein shake w/ 8oz skim milk

10:00a - I have either cream of wheat or a boiled egg w/a slice of wheat toast

12:00p - lunch: today I had a crab cake and 1/4 cup of boiled potatoes w/onions and a large apple

It's 3:00p now, I really don't have an appetite but will have 2 rice cakes

Then at 7:00 I have dinner - I always cook, so tonight it will be a chicken stir fry w/a little white rice.

Most evenings before bed I have an Isopure drink (blue raspberry is my current favorite) or a protein shake.

ok...that's good to know. I LOVE new york and company...I was just in there today for lunch they are having an awesome sale! I bought all 12's and medium shirts but I should have gotten some 10's too becuase I know they will be fitting perfectly in a couple of weeks. I'm still like a 13-15 in those junior sizes so I wouldnt dare go in forever 21 or wet seal yet...lol. I felt funny going into Express but I can fit a large in there. I thought that once i hit "normal sizes" it would be the same across the board but I guess its just like the plus sizes. I used to be able to fit a 3x anywhere but sometimes it varied. Targets stuff runs big...especially that Mossimo line. my size 12 target jeans are too big too. this can be so frustrating!

still lookin fab! I have a question...do you remember what size you wore at 175? We are the same height and were built similarly so I was just wondering. I think I want to stop at 175. I'm currently in a tight 10 and loose 12 weighing 187. I dont think I want to go to a size 6 but my general practitioner doctor said I should take it all the way to 155-160. That's kinda scary for me!

I saw your blog today and that you went to Dr. Baptista. I had my surgery by him on 8/12. I know i'm not loosing as quickly as he would like but i've lost 19 lbs so far and I'm happy with that number. I'd love to hear your experience and if you follow the low carb diet.

I'm having my lapband done on monday 11-19-09. I was suppose to fast but had a hard time somedays. Do you think this is a problem? How long is it before you get your first full?
