    March 2019 sleepers

Mine was March 27th 2019, 1 week ago.
  2. I cant imagine whats it like to go through a double long transplant, and wish you and your hubby a lifetime of good health. Yes exactly about the same time each month. They will count the 11th as your first visit, what you can do if possible is ask if you can meet with the nutrition on Wednesday. If not, no worries you can make the appointment for the same day on your other visits. If you haven't as yet make sure you find out if your surgeon is within network. I reached my deductible with my sleep Apnea test and my responsibility will be 10% for the procedure which will be well worth it.
  3. I had buyers remorse for the first week, maybe? I don’t think it was so much related to the sleeve, though. I had a large hiatal hernia that was repaired at the same time and my diaphragm and esophagus were really irritated from that. Was really uncomfortable to sip water or even breathe, honestly. I’m 10 weeks out now and 40 lbs lighter. I should also add that I feel like a million bucks. Those few days of buyers remorse was more than worth it in my opinion. I have absolutely no regrets now.
  4. I got sleeved on 3/08/19, down 30 absolutely no complaints. I didn’t even have no pain. My goal is to get to 135lbs. Just had a milestone at 199.0.  What advise would you give me because 135lbs would be 100lbs for me.  Extercise, food, mindset, etc...

    Also CONGRATULATIONS

  5. My first was 8 days post surgery, 10 days since my last one. I was getting nervous!

    i hate cardio.

i hate cardio. i've always hated cardio. i will always hate cardio. forever. i would rather lift weights 7 days a week than do 10 minutes of cardio. i would rather clean the bathroom of a gas station at midnight than do cardio. i would rather experience 4 hours of dumping syndrome than do cardio. i would rather go to work than do cardio. cardio is doom. cardio is sadness. i do HIIT twice a week with my trainer now and he says i HAVE to do 30 minutes of "challenging" cardio every single day i am not with him at the gym. i have a stationary bike, arm pedal, and vertical climber at home. but i hate it. hate ittttt. i want to get to my goal weight by november-ish so i know i have to do it. why can't i get my lazy butt up and just do it? it's only 30 minutes. GOSH. #rant.
  7. I got my sleeve done on 3/8/19 in Mexico also. Although they call me ever Friday. I found a Nurse Practionier & made her my Primary Care. She is getting me into group, she states that once I’m in the group that my insurance company will pay for a tummy tuck if needed because I am a bariatric patient. FYI - potentially FREE tummy tuck.
  8. If you like your sweets like I do, you've got to try this recipe I made yesterday. It rocked my world! 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder 10 packets of splenda 1/4 cup of smooth peanut butter 1/4 cup of margarine You melt the peanut butter and margarine in a small saucepan just enough to soften it, then you mix it with the dry ingredients, press the mixture into a square pan and chill it in the refrigerator for an hour, then cut into squares. I made my first batch last night and wow oh wow was it good! What a treat for this sweet tooth and so filling. Nutritional info: 9 servings - 60 calories per serving, 6 g protein per serving, 2.5 g fat per serving, 4 g carbs per serving, 2 g sugar per serving

    March 27th surgery date

Hey everyone - my stats are similar to a few of you. Starting weight 237, 5’2”, gastric bypass on the 26th. I’ve been down 19 pounds (yesterday) but I’m back up to 220 (today). No cheating but I’m always hungry - even after the puréed diet began yesterday. Are we supposed to be satisfied having only 3/4c of food a day? Or, not hungry at least? My stomach is grumbling. I sent a message to my dietician about it and I haven’t heard back yet.
  10. My surgery is on the 19 of this month but had to get two of my tooth taken out today. One of my wisdom teeth grew crooked and infected so was the one next to it. So had to pull both. I was prescribe ibuprofen for the pain. My dentist said it was okay to take but haven't taken them as yet tho. I'm so depressed right now from removing my teeth. I cried days the last time & today I cried a hour straight. This is not my first time removing teeth. I feel so lost. So ugly. I hate myself l. Im so sad.Only good thing it's the ones in the back. March Bypass Buddies

What I find so interesting in being on this board is how different everyone's post op diet is - like I had my surgery on 3/18. I was given clear liquids that first day. I went home from the hospital on 3/19 after I had eaten some blended food (yogurt). I was on the blended texture diet for 2 weeks and this last Monday, switched to soft food. I didn't have a liquid diet phase - went to pureed right away. It seems the more I read, the more varieties I find. My program is pureed for 2 weeks with RNY and 4 weeks with sleeve and then to soft food for 2 months and then to regular textures. It just seems strange that it isn't more consistent.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

My next goal is -5.8 pounds. That will get me into a weight range that I haven’t seen in many many years. I can do this! I may go to Vegas on 4/23. Got hired for a new job yesterday and we are working out the details. I think I can lost 7-10 pounds by then, right?!? In 20 days...

On the small incision I picked it off after 10 days and they were completely sealed and healed by then. Now I have little dots on my belly!

    April 2019 Surgeries!

And thoughts to all those having surgery today. I am flying out to San Diego this afternoon for surgery tomorrow. On the plus side, this morning my weight sans clothing was 329.6. That is the first time it has been below 330 in at least two years, maybe longer. Regarding a clear liquid diet today, after 10 days of a full liquid diet, I am pretty much up for anything. Now if I can only get my 15-year-old to get her behind in motion.
  15. Well, I gained 10 pounda of water weight in the hospital, so most of this week was shedding that. From surgery day to today, 7 days, I have lost 4 pounds. I actually expect that to go up a little next week. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Gerd

I’ve had several endoscopies since my sleeve August 2017. Maybe 3? I’m actually lucky my esophagus has no cellular changes yet. Key word, YET. Also had barium swallow, sham feeding test, esophageal manometry, bravo pH study that showed severe reflux, a contrast abdominal and pelvic CT, and a gastric emptying test that showed gastroparesis. My surgeon was still a doodie head so I switched hospitals. He says 90% cure and if I’m in that 10% I might punch a wall. Year and a half on Prilosec, and 4 months high dose steroids made me lose a dental implant I had already paid $4,000 for and now reconstructive surgery is probably $10-15k. YAY REFLUX!

    Introduction

For me, I met with my surgeon on January 8th 2019 and had sleeve surgery March 11. Mine was unusually fast because my insurance did not require any kind of pre surgery weight loss tracking. I think 6 months is very much the norm. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    January 2019 sleevers

Checking in to see how everyone is doing? I am down 38 pounds since 01/24/19 and happy about it. I had a couple of days where I sweets -one was my birthday and the second was while watching a TV drama so I now know to stay away from watching TV dramas with sweet foods around. I get hungry now but the hunger pains are smaller than before and obviously it is easier to ease the hunger. I am consuming 400-600 calories a day. I was exercising quite a bit in the beginning but have slowed down on that end, usually I am pretty tired at the end of the day to do anything. I am getting a bike over the week-end so I can bike to and from work. I am hoping this will get me more active. I know I will need to increase my calories but am struggling to do that mentally. How else is everyone doing?

Try to keep them on. They hold the edges of the wound together. The less tension, the less scarring. My started peeling at 10 days and were gone by 20 days.

    ❤ APRIL 2019 CHALLENGE❤

I'm a little late to the party, but I want to join in too... Current weight: 251 Weight loss goal for April: 10 Surgery: RNY upcoming on May 16, 2019 Personal Goal: To keep true to my pre-op diet. #1 - I'm proud of the fact that I have stuck it out for almost two years in my program to get to this point. #2 - I'm not really into journaling. I've done it at different times for different purposes, usually in times of emotional upheaval. I've been doing really well with my food tracker for the last few months though. Haven't missed a day since the New Year.

I was sleeved on Wednesday 2/20 and felt great by Monday, I have a desk job and returned back to work on Tuesday 2/26. I am now 6 weeks out and feel amazing, this is definitely the best thing that I have ever done for myself, I did have the dreaded 3 week stall that last 10 days, but I am now loosing again and eating much more 'normal' foods. Hoping that you continue feeling great!!

    Dumping syndrome with VSG?

I'm a sleever. I *think* I had dumping once (and once only!) after drinking some lemon soju back over Christmas. It came about 5-10 minutes after drinking it (wave of nausea, need to barf, then was in the washroom number-two-ing for about 30 minutes). Yuck. Didn't do that again.

    Back again family

well I did begin to have my gastric sleeve surgery on 11/05/2018. On the table .knocked out with anesthesia .Awaken by nurses telling me. They were not able to do the surgery. they informed me that they could not introduce the laroscopy where it needed to be to begin the surgery. The doctors said they tried for 45 minute. even called in ENT to try. Neck just wouldn't bend. (my neck is fused, due to spinal surgery due to polio} I was so extremely depressed. So I had to begin all over again. with a Doctor I was referred to. Dr. Katkhouda @ Keck USC. next week I complete my nutrition classes AGAIN. I'm scheduled again May 7th 2019. Please let it work this time.
  24. I was having horrible reflux and had all the fluid removed from my band. Today I went for a barium swallow, still waiting on the results. Dr. didn't see anything at the time, but will review the images. The past couple weeks I have had shoulder pain when I eat or drink. It isn't right away, but within 10 minutes of eating/drinking. Has anyone experienced this? What was the outcome? Thank you for your time 😁

    ❤ APRIL 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Day 2: I'm not much of a journal type. But I used to write daily bullets on a calendar when my son was young, but I don't even do that anymore. He's 19 and my daughter is 8. So yeh, I just suck.... :(
