I will have 2 hard boiled eggs in the am, and maybe a yogurt = 240 cal.. or oatmeal and a banana = 240 cal, and then for lunch I might have tuna salad or chicken salad with wheat cracker = 300 cal or something healthy, and believe me, its all about those 15 crackers I can have, and then for dinner, I will have salmon with cooked veggies = 360 cal.., and I might do a sugarfree popcicle, fudgecicle or jello/pudding for desert = 100 cal. Making it a total of 1,000 - 1,200

I've had collected fluid under my skin and had 40cc withdrawn... Starting to feel really hungry also.. My first fill is scheduled for Sept. 7th hope it does the trick also.. I'm still very sore and haven't been able to sleep on my stomach yet and that bothers me.. Was finally told yesterday I can start to exercise and drive.. Hubby got me an exercise bike hope to be able to put it to good use.. I feared I had stretched my pouch also.. Even though all I mostly eat is yogurts, cottage cheese, eggs soups, fish and grilled chicken.. Some crackers too afraid to do pasta, rice or anything that cus I hate to vomit and that's exactly what I did at my daughters in law when she made fried chicken strips.. Thought if I chewed it well enough it would go down but got stuck not even water would push it down and I ended up puking it up... Learned my lesson quick!!!!

Kat, So much to say. My name is kelly. My personal email is kellydeford@comcast.net. I need two things that I am hoping your experience can help with. One is SUPER simple I want to add a ticker, can't find any instructions on doing so. Also, I am STARVING. I had surgery on Thursday this is Monday. My diet is supposed to be full liquid. What am I doing wrong? 4 ounces of a meal of cream soup or yogurt and I am just not satisfied. Any suggestions? thanks from a real newbie, Kelly

Hey girl! Glad you made it out!
Don't worry we all heal differently. Just make sure you walk. Trust me, that is a big part of the pain. You gotta get those gases out of your system. I saw a procedure done online and it's a lot of gas they put in you to bloat your insides to do the operation. Crazy! So I bet that's what's hurting you the most. It did me.
Are you going to do the 4 week liquid diet? Don't rat me out but I"m not. I talk to my nutrionist who's not associated w/Dr.Oh & clan. She is just shocked at how unhealthy that is. She's not telling me to go eat chesseburger of course, but I need to eat. So I'm eatting mushies 1/4 cup at a time. Total at the end of a day it's 2 1/2 cups of stuff like greek yogurt, egg, cottage cheese, soups etc.

Here's the scoop on my first fill...not bad at all! She felt around for my port (didn't hurt), sprayed numbing spray, put the needle in (don't peek at it). I didn't feel pain necessarily, just pressure. She had to move it around 2 or 3 times before she actually got into the port but that wasn't bad. She then fill up my band with 8CC of fluid and had me take a drink of contrast - that sensation wasn't too pleasant, my stomach area felt veeeery tight and then when I swallowed I could feel the liquid just sitting there. She then slowly pulled out a few cc's at a time until she found a spot where she thought the liquids flowed pretty good into my lower stomach, which ended up being 4cc. It was cool to watch the liquids drain into my stomach on the machine! But yea now my site is a tad sore but otherwise feeling good. This AM I ate 1/2 cup of greek yogurt with 1 tbsp reduced fat peanut butter, and 5 hours later I realized I was still full. It was awesome!!

I've been trying to get some exercise in, but it's no guarantees sadly. I ate what I wanted to last weekend, for my "last meal" type stuff. Now it's on to protein shakes and chicken, haha.
My store didn't have Greek yogurt, but I got the low fat one and it tasted just fine to me. I'll look into getting Greek post-op though!

Well the doctor put me on an antibiotic because of the Diahreah. So I have to crush this pill up 3 times a day and mix it into food. The thing tastes truly GOD-AWFUL!
Anyway, today for breakfast I had half a cup of strained cream of Shrimp soup and about half a cup of Key Lime yogurt (I know thats a terrible idea especially for breakfast) not sure what I was thinking. I just don't like the baby rice cereal and have yet to try cream of Wheat. For Lunch I realized that I could move onto pureed food Week 2 Yippee! so... I mushed up some Cottage cheese and had a half cup of strained Cream of Onion soup. Then for dinner I had a half cup of Apple sauce and some SF Vanilla Pudding. I've had to really make it a concious effort to drink plenty of fluids. Been drinking Power Zero which is really good and 0 calories. It tastes like a Jolly Rancher, and is .89 cents for a 32 oz. Bottle. I'll talk to ya soon! Hope your recover continues going real well.

Chobani, Fage and other greek yogurt companies need to make flavored greek yogurt not have 3908423904 grams of sugar in them. Eating non fat, plain greek yogurt gets old after awhile.

Good Morning ML,
I'm doing great! The first 30 hours after surgery were a little rough. I thought I was going to lose it during the leak test. I was pretty "green" but held it together. I also could not get comfortable in the hospital. I really started feeling better when I went on oral meds. I'm on full liquids for two weeks, then mushies. I have plenty of cottage cheese, yogurt for my protien. I've made up cream of wheat and have applesauce for my carbs.
After my shower, I put on jeans and a long sleeve tee. I can button the jeans and they are comfortable, and the tee feels loose. One of my daughters friends came in and said "OMG, you look skinny!" Boy did that make my day!
Everytime I look in my closet, I keep telling all my clothes that their days are numbered! Can't wait to be able to buy "cute" normal sizes.
Thanks so much for you caring thoughts. Hope all is going well with your pre-op diet. This is such an exciting time for us!
Hugs,
JoAnne

So how is it going by now? I am eating soft foods and venturing out a little but trying to eat mostly soups, protein drinks, and yogurt etc. but I did try some flounder last night and I had Weny's chili today (1/2 of a small order).
How are you feeling? It will be a month Monday, it is good to be this far out, looking forward to more "normal" feeling as time goes on.

hey loser, thanks for the compliment. believe me i don't feel very pretty!! i still feel really fat. i have a great day today and am so glad for that. i am still eating in between meals. i usually eat yogurt, string cheese or a spoonful of peanut butter. food is like a drug and wish my body didn't hang onto food like it does. i work at a hospital in labor and delivery with a bunch of women and most of them can pack it down, and never gain an ounce. i hate these type of women. i also believe we are the stronger sex because weight loss is one of the hardest things that i have ever done. how are you doing with eating and keeping it down-loser?
ready2bhealthy- i am doing really well. glad that i had the surgery. i am down 54# since nov. and i couldn't have kept it off without this little tool in my abdomen. some days are harder than others. today was not a hard day and food stayed down really well.

Linda,
I wanted to bounce off you what I am eating, and tell me what you think - HONESTLY. [i told Anna and Theresa (2BlueCats), I feel like you are my sleeve Mama, and they are my sleeve sisters.] I guess I have read some recent posts, and I do not really "count carbs." Wonder if I am messing up? Just don't want to get off on the wrong foot. Today I had some really thinned grits for bkfst, a protein shake at 10ish (23 g ptn, 3 cbs), for lunch I had 1/2 c of butternut squash soup (V8, so yum!), for dinner I had some Keifer drinkable yogurt w/ 2 tbsp of cottage cheese, and 2 spoons of hummus. Then at 8 another protein shake and 2 spoons of sf jello. I know it is WAY less food than I used to eat, but those are carbs. I am not sure Tiffykins would approve? What do you think?
Worried duck,
Barb

I am still on full liquids - though some of the stuff my doc will allow on full liquids, I would consider mushies. Today I had a protein shake for bkfst, 1/2 of serving of applesauce, lunch was tomato soup and the other 1/2 of applesauce, 3ish a protein shake, tonight I had hummus and some drinkable yogurt with about a tablespoon of cottage cheese in it. I also had a protein shake at about 8:30. I feel like it is a lot. I guess because it is all really watery, I do not have any trouble getting it in or keeping it down. Next Tues. I move to mushies. So glad you are feeling better. Brrr. Keep warm.

Linda,
Thanks so much for checking in on me. YES, Tues, I get drinkable yogurt & jello! Yesterday I was having a bit of a pity party. Just feeling like I would never feel “normal” again. I know it’s been less than a week. But today I feel better. I cannot wait to get my drain out - I think it is on Wed.! Happy New Year to you and your family!

Tomorrow is the first day of my 4th week sleeved. I want a scrambled egg. Is it too early to try? I've been eating mashed potatoes, greek yogurt, cream of wheat, and applesauce.
