Hi Erin, well that is a good thing actually. You have been so sick it is good to hear that you are hungry. Are you still in the liquid stage or are you in the mushies? If I remember right you are in full liquids. You can eat the potatoe soup you were talking about or any kind of broth and probably pudding and yogurt now. You definitely need to start putting something on your stomach now.

I had been taking them before surgery and will continue again once I heal and can swallow a capsule. I never had that problem before surgery though. I took a heavy pro-biotic supplement with minimum 10 strains. Maybe go back to the miralax and eat yogurt for a while and see what happens. That sounds more like allergies or not enough Fluid intake, maybe?

I drink at least 1 glass of skim milk a day. As far as the sugar I try to stay with sugar free stuff and you have to watch the more refined sugars that are in desserts. I eat greek yogurts that have sugar in them and that hasn't bothered me at all. but when I tried a spoonful of icing that was a totally different story. Let's just say I won't be doing that ever again.

You need low calories and low sugar amounts so your body can heal and try and burn the fat cells on your body. If you eat sugar, it will burn this as fuel and not the fat on your body. Use nonfat greek yogurt with Stevia. SF popsicles, SF jelly and Crystal light flavor drinks to mix up the flavors and varieties. Stay on track and you will be okay. Best wishes -
I'm 6 days post-op and a little dizzy this morning. I think mine has more to do with needing to get in more fluids (only got 50oz yesterday) and hitting my protein today (got 60g yesterday but should have 80g according to my plan). I'm watering down some of my clear protein drinks so they aren't so sweet and adding powder protein to the small bit of foods (like yogurt) that I'm allowed. I hope you get to feeling better. (((hugs)))

My nutritionalist didn't give me any restriction on yogurt like that... I just have to eat certain kinds...Kroger's carb masters ...but this was before this came out

I think it took me time to figure it out. Is it really a cup or a 4 oz cup you buy in the store? Somethings slide down fast and easy. I could hold a whole 6 oz of yogurt in the beginning but give me a piece of chicken and it is only 2-3 oz and I am full. I hope it works this way for you too.

I am 12 days post op today. I am not feeling and hunger pains nor do I feel when I am full. I can eat a cup of sf pudding or 4 oz of greek yogurt. Kinda worried about this. Anyone else having this problem?

So I am 1 week out of surgery and have just moved to full liquids. I have been eating about 1/2 a pudding cup at a time or 4 oz of cream Soup at a time throughout the day. I just went back and read through my book again and I realized it said I should be eating a teaspoon to a tablespoon of food "at a time" Does this mean I should be having a tablespoon of pudding/soup for a meal? I'm having trouble knowing how much food I should be eating. Overall how much should I be eating in a day? and how long did it take you to transition from clear to full to pureed etc. For example today I have eaten in total: 1-1 1/4 pudding snack 3 oz applesauce 2 oz yogurt

I am newer.....almost 7 week. The post op phase is easier than you think. Just have a plan in place. I did a lot of Protein drinks and split pea Soup. The hair, I read it was a similar loss as a women has after child birth. With you already having 2 kids you know......it isn't "that" significant. So that is what I am expecting. I had a hard time feeling hungry at first. I always a pure Protein Bar in my car now JUST incase. If I forget to eat I get sick and sleepy. Like I said I am 7 weeks out....I feel like I have several options to eat. I honestly can't wait until I can have raw veggies and fruit....that will make me VERY happy. But otherwise...........LIFE IS GOOD! Best decision ever. My treat daily is a healthy choice frozen greek yogurt. Loose skin is something I am also concerned with as well I don't have an answer for that. GOOOOOD LUCK and welcome.

I was wondering if anyone was taking any patches, gum, or lozenges before and during the surgery. I am on the #2 lozenge (not the strongest) and I take about 5 a day. I'm just wondering if it would cause problems with my surgery. Any response would be appreciated. I'm already on the two week clear liquid diet and doing pretty good except maybe a couple olives and a small yogurt yesterday. I'im on day three... thank you... rpm2010:scared2:

Starting my mushies today!!!!!! Some things on my list say to purée and some don't. I kinda thought we had to purée everything right now. For instance, it says I can have yogurt for breakfast. Do I need to throw it in the nutri bullet first?

Greek yogurt and protein is great. You need to train your system to eat and utilize "good" food.

I have had my band for 9 or 10 weeks. Have had 2 fills and do feel some restriction. Last night, I had some chicken and salad, felt satisfied, then had some frozen yogurt. AFter that, I felt really uncomfortably full. Now I'm worried that I've done some damage. This morning I feel fine, but I'm still worried that I might have stretched my pouch. What are the symptoms? Thanks. sara

I started my 10 day pre-op diet. Holy cow it's rough and I'm just day 1. People tell me after day 3 it's easier but all I thought about at work allll day was food. My stomach was rumbling so loud that I could hear it even with my headphones with music on while I programmed. Torture. My diet is: gatorade, Powerade, apple, orange and grapefruit juices: 2 cups or less daily. sugar free Jello, popsciles and fudgesicles: as much as I like as long as they're sugar free A cup of skim milk, low fat yogurt or low fat cottage cheese: 3 or less daily Atkins shakes or carb solutions shakes: 3 or less daily (I got powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury shakes in vanilla, chocolate and chicken soup) You may have as much as you like of broth ONLY Soups in any flavor. As much as I like of sugar free beverages like diet soda, crystal light, coffee and tea. Then there are diabetic allowances like small amount of regular cottage cheese, light yogurt, stuff liek that. So my question is.. what is broth? Just chicken, veggie or beef? Because in the broth area of my supermarket I found butternut squash broth, tomato and some other nifty things but I don't know if that's considered broth. Anyone?

Actually, I have made Protein Pancakes...or at least a version of them. Rachel Ray has a "Gourmet Pancake Reciepe" that I altered and used Wheat Flour & Soy Flour, in addition to the eggs and vanilla flavored yogurt you add to the mix it was pretty packed with protein. The yogurt base also made them tasty. No syrup needed (at least I didn't). I make them and freeze them from time to time. In addtion to the pancakes, Rachel Ray's reciepe calls for sauted peas & corn as a side to the pancakes (sauted in the renderings of bacon or panchetta). YUM-O

Delicious food and product recommendations

I am not much of a cook. I just wanted to say I have eaten Breakstone's cottage cheese for years. I also like it nekkid. I have found that I eat less if I eat meat and a vegetable as opposed to a casserole type dish. I think it is because it is more solid food. I have been eating beef with steamed broccoli. Since I am not much of a cook, I am not picky about what I eat. I open a bag of frozen broccoli and put some in a container with some butter spray and microwave it at lunchtime. I love to put low fat granola in my yogurt and the nutritionist said this helps it stay in the pouch longer so it is a good thing.
