Thanks everyone! It's good to hear the different experiences we are having. I feel so prepared with the band because of reading this forum. Bigbaby....you'll do great with Dr. B. I was only on the table for 25 minutes....that's how long it takes him to do the procedure. The nursing staff is fantastic and they take excellent care of their patients. I'm on liquids for 2 weeks, but can also have yogurt, pudding, jello and applesauce. I did have some jello last night (surgery day) and it really tasted good. I ate it cold right out of the fridge...the pudding too. My tummy is very tight feeling and I'm in some pain when I get to moving around. As I'm sitting here typing, I can hear my stomach grumbling, but I'm not hungry at all. Keep up the good work everyone!

Yes Faith, I am talking about the premixed ones and I agree that they are thin. I think that's what I like about them; they just really seem like chocolate milk to me. The other thing that appeals to me is that I can just grab them and go. They may be working for me because I find that I am doing something to curb my hunger about every 2 to 3 hours. I'll get up and have a cup of coffee and a shake. Then a little later, I'll have a FF yogurt. Then maybe a SF pudding. Maybe some tomato basil soup a couple of hours later and then 100 cal pack of crackers with a Laughing Cow Cheese triangle. I'll have another shake and then something for dinner.....mashed potatoes or some more soup. A shake around 8 or 9 and then I've gotten my protein in for the day. I do get the munchies real bad, so I think it's helping me to do a little something often, rather than trying to stick to three meals. I think it's just important to find whatever works! For me, having to mix a shake every time would drive me nuts and then I wouldn't get that important protein in. If I grab one of those EAS drinks, then that is a little while longer that I don't feel the need to grab something else. Also grabbing one of those drinks takes care of the "hand to mouth, right now feeling"! **sigh** LOL

LauraG my doctor says full liquids on days 3-7 post op. I'm lucky his list for that includes: skim milk; strained low-fat cream soups; tomato soup; liquid protein supplements; lite or fat-free yogurt; soy milk; veggie juices; milk shakes; egnnog; ice cream - low fat, low-sugar brands; custards; low-fat, low-sugar puddings; sherbert; fruit ice; nonfat frozen yogurt. I've been tolerating and loving it. For breakfast i had some Yoplait Whipped Strawberry yogurt...it was amazing!! No pieces. For lunch I had a Campbell's By The Hand Velvety Potato soup...blended a little extra and a fruit popsicle. Congratulations, Suzzzie!! I quit taking the Lortab Monday as well...was way too sleepy. Tylenol works but am wondering about Ibuprofen.

Good Morning: I start my pre opt today! I am actually ready to launch because I see this as a true beginning point! Dan, your diet now is what my pre opt diet is. I still get one small meal, 4oz lean turky/chicken and vegis. I can also have a yogurt( specific kind) and a specific fruit. I think these small add ins will get me through! I am headed for my physical, registration and blood work at the hospital today. I am not sure where I read it, that everything was easy but the needles! that is me. My veins stink! but I am a big girl! Talk to you all tonight. Janine

Toni, glad to see your humor is still with us! Vance welcome to a great thread!! Suzzzie You are amazing. Once I am home I can't see myself going back out again. I am truly impressed. I really need to get back to the gym. My last weight loss success and for a while after I went 4-5 times a week. I enjoyed it, really. But once you fall off the horse, the motivation just stops! I know many of the instructors and the regulars and I am afraid when I go back, they will be saying, " what happened to her!" But I know I need to do it. Pippz Hang in there about the portion control and eating to much. try to let the worry go. I know this is so hard. I was so hungry today after my work, I had to go to the mall to return some things and I walked past to many food places, but I did not buy. Marga My meals today were: Breakfast: yoplait lowfat yogurt, fruit; Lunch: Lean Quisine, Dinner: pork barbeque ( tons left over from the wedding) and a tablespoon of coleslaw on top. I am not sure that is enough or to much. I know I was hungry at 6. My son's wedding left lots of food around and I am staying away from the bad stuff, but it is hard! Great work, Nina, Toni, Heather, Insub, dan and all I missed !

Got a goooood fill yesterday. I now have 8.5 in my 10cc band. Today I had a 4oz Activia yogurt for lunch and after approx 3oz of it I was full. Took me 3 hours to drink my 12oz protein shake this morning. :cursing: I'm excited!! I really want this fill to be the MAGICAL one for me like the fill I had in Sept that worked good for 3 months!! Lol. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Oops, forgot to tell you that I got the yogurt at Walmart. I think that many stores are starting to carry it.

FarmerE: Glad you liked the smoothie! It's one of my favorites. I'm going to try it a little differently today...I received a sample of Green Apple Nectar in the mail...Also, last night I took a High Protein Vanilla Boost and added some No Sugar Added Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream and made a shake for dinner. Was wonderful and had 20 g. of protein or so. Insubordination: I left a message to make my appointment, but haven't heard anything...hopefully they'll call back soon or I'll call them at 1. I'm having pain there too...really that and the shoulder pain is all the pain I'm having. And I'm still wanting to sleep. You're courageous to be going back so early...I took this week off. I needed the time away from work but I wasn't sure how I'd do either. Insubordination: Thanks! I hope it sticks as well. Breakfast this morning was some delicious Black Cherry yogurt...without the cherry pieces. I find that at "meal" times I'm only eating like 1/2 carton of yogurt or 1/2 serving of soup and 1/2 serving pudding. If my mom's scales are equal to my house scales, then I've already lost 5 pounds...but I don't know...I'll weigh again on hers this Friday. Suzzzie: Take it easy. You deserve the rest. I'm sure your work will understand if you take a few more days. I do deskwork...but I took the week off and I'm glad I did...plus it gave me some time with my munchkins and away from the hubub at the office. Keep your chin up and remember that we have a smoothie date sometime! ---- This is an amazing group....lots of support and I want to thank you all! My coworkers sent me some lovely flowers yesterday...they all know about the surgery and have all been very supportive. I may take a few more days off...not because of the surgery but to clean my house and stuff if I feel up to it (right before the surgery my husband and I found a house in the school district we prefer, in the town my mom lives in, and have put our house on the market yesterday and had a person come look at the filthy thing last night). I've got to get it cleaned...I've got some friends coming over this weekend to help do the "dumpster dance" and they told me I could coordinate (tell them what goes in the dumpster).

Hi Lisa...I also have two weeks of full liquids after surgery. I'm in day 4 of my pre-op liquid diet. I can't believe how hard this is for me. I can't wait until Friday...at least after surgery I can have FULL liquids, so I can have soups and yogurt and pudding...I'd give anything for a yogurt right now!!!
-
Capt. Dan: I found a good breakfast the other day, if you like coconut and pineapple. Toast pineapple in pan with pam. Take ff vanilla yogurt, top with drained pineapple tidbits. Top with coconut. I haven't figured the protein on that but it had an amazing taste...and I could only eat half it was filling.

Hi Pacu, My nutritionist took me off fluids on Day 6---she said I was past due. I started eating yogurt, babyfood, etc... from that day and it's progressed since. :rolleyes Some doctors like their pts. to be on liquids for two weeks. Maybe that's your diet? It's a GREAT conservative, safe approach and ensures GREAT healing. Cheers, Toni

Hi Junies, just got home from 2 days in hospital after banding Wednesday. Well, it has been pretty painful after, both port and gas pain so I hope tomorrow will be better. Unfortunately I am not one of those lucky souls who don't feel hungry (I'm starving) but small amounts are going down well. I can eat yogurt and soup and custard etc for the next 2 weeks, weird how the pre and post op diets vary so much. At least I didnt die ( I had myself convinced I would!!!!!)

Good challenge. It will be tough today for me since we've got snow and I won't be walking at lunch. But I'll try to get the three miles in somehow after work. Had a good weekend but I'm bummed out because I expected a loss and had a gain. I did drink with my meal yesterday when company came (dumb) and I had dessert. So I'm not shocked, just disappointed. I really thought the week of walking would override that but it didn't. It also didn't override the snacking on nuts I did nearly every day last week. Today I'm not going to snack and I will focus on low calorie choices and zero crap. I started with yogurt and have boiled eggs planned for lunch. I sent most of the leftovers home with the company yesterday so I won't be tempted by Pasta and sweets. dinner will be beef and salad. Stressful week ahead with divorce crap. Not gonna eat over it. Nope. Not gonna do it.

@@Bandista - I'm just loving how you're getting in touch with yourself! I'm learning some things about myself after I read and think about your posts. Thank you for sharing!!! Me too, friend, me too. I still struggle at each meal. Heck, I'll do it even with a Protein shake. I have to will myself to stop at the 8 oz mark when I know I've got the other 8 in the fridge. Each meal, I portion out and then wait after I've finished to see if I'm battling demons or still truly hungry. 99% of the time it's the first. I'm also trying to get into the habit of leaving something on my plate, most of the normies I eat with do this and I want to eat as much like them as possible! Sure wish I had an OA in town... @@bacon - top secret missions now, huh!?! Way to go on splitting that sandwich! VICTORY! @@ParaGirl - eating off plan always leaves me feeling bad too. I think it's a combination of the junk making me physically yucky, but also the emotional feelings of remorse or guilt or something. Glad you're back on track today! Gottta love a principal throwing a last minute "I'm-gonna-use-as-much-of-your-time-as-humanly-possible". Heaven forbid you have time to make copies, plan lessons, etc. @@2babutterfly - hope that camping trip is wonderful! @@enjoythetime - missing your posts, hope all is well. @@lisacaron - what a beautiful list! Sounds like you're one lucky lady! Today has gone according to plan. My husband is sick with a cough and cold, so I know he won't want to exercise tonight. I went ahead and did an hour-long butt kicking today. Jessica Smith has replaced Leslie Sansone for now and she's a little more intense. Add the sore arm from the tetanus shot and those spiffy new ankle weights, and I got my tail worked today! Eating plan: B- 8oz shake w/fiber L-yogurt w/fiber & 2 tbl homemade granola S-8 oz shake w/fiber D-homemade pizza 772c, 79p, 49nc 72 oz Water & exercise completed I just made 96 meatballs for the freezer. I've seen some recipes lately that use them, so this way I've got them made-up and pre-cooked to make life a little easier. I froze them in meal-sized servings, so I hope it works. You guys keep rocking! I gain so much insight and inspiration for your posts. Thank you for sharing this journey with me. I'll check back later, Take care of you.

Today is going to be a great day because I'm going to make it one! Taking the kiddos tonight to see Disney on Ice, not sure who's more excited them or me:-) Probably will grab a quick dinner on the way there, probably Wendy's so no problem I will just work it into my "plan" for today (which as you can see below is really under-developed). My goal is not to go over 1338 cal. for today. 88 oz of Water and I will try for those darn stairs again. Yesterday I got pulled into a meeting that went a lot longer than expected so the stairs didn't happen. However, today, I think the stairs and moving around as much as possible will help me get through this day with a smile. Today's plan B: Yogurt & trail mix- 250 cal 17p L: Not sure something light and low cal- try not to exceed 250 cal- maybe another jimmy johns unwich for 170 cal 22p (although yesterday the lettuce didn't seem to go down as normal.) D: Wendy's 4pc spicy chicken nuggets 170 cal 10p S: For Disney on Ice- Protein Bar 160 cal 20p I'm going to try and "save" some of my calories in case something unexpected comes along so I don't blow it out of the water and if nothing unexpected comes along well then I'll just add that as a win and hopefully this will assist in my weigh-in next Friday:-) Let's continue moving forward, no looking back, full speed ahead with our heads held high, shoulders back, smile on, working it! We should all remember how awesome we are and that just because we hit a bump now and then, that doesn't change a thing, we all get up and we're back at it today and that's ALL that matters! We don't have to be perfect to be successful! What is perfection any way?? I don't know because I've never seen it! 1-2-3 BREAK!

Be strong and steady. I was very hangry [emoji6] it gets easier!! Keep your eye on the prize. I froze Greek yogurt for a treat and used unflavored protein in a lot of things to make sure I got my protein. If I got really hungry, I gulped a big cup of water and went walking. Surgery for me is tomorrow. You can do it!!! HW 303 SW 278 CW 280 GW 150 Sleeve 3/6/18

Floridagal1976 that's AWESOME!! I'm day 4. Yesterday was weird. At "lunch," my shake made me a little sick to my stomach. I'm feel like I was just hangry the first two days, now my tummy just feels blah. I'm having a protein shake 3 times a day and 2 yogurts. Any suggestions on substitution? Yes, girl, whew...brings back memories! Just concentrate on eating the yogurt when you're able to and just drink those Protein shakes continuously...I still do for my protein! What do you take for your reflux? I take Dexilant 60mg and it's great for me and does much better than any other over the counter or prescription that I've ever tried. I'm sure your sleeve will work for you and you'll do great! Just keep doing what the dr says and never stray! ????????
