    NSV

What does NSV mean? Sorry I am new to this.
  2. NSV!!! my fitbit charging so I put on older watch I got, OMG It's hanging off my wrist like a bracelet. I showed hubby. He says everyone is always telling you , you lost weight and you keep saying no. Now you got prove !!!:591_watch:

  3. I've had a few of these NSVs ... 1-I can cross my legs again, like a lady - not like all awkward and uncomfortable!! 2-I fit so much more comfortably at the movies and with the armrests down ... there's actually room in the seat now. 3-I fit in the stadium seats - and not just barely, but comfortably! 4-My next NSV to find out this week .... how I fit in the airplane seats ... I'll report back after my upcoming trip.
  4. YAY! I'm 6 weeks post-op today and I can wear my size 16 jeans that I haven't fit into in probably 4-5 years!!! I am so happy with my progress and my doctor said he is impressed also because he was only expecting me to have lost 5-6 pounds from my 2 week check-up, but I lost 11! Some people are losing faster than me, but hey, as long as that scale is going down, I'm okay with any loss! I'm now released from all restrictions and I can go to the gym and start lifting and toning and doing more than just walking nowhere on that dang treadmill! Another NSV for me lately is that I can walk up 2 flights of stairs and not get winded! Before I would try to walk up 2 flights at once and be huffing and puffing and feeling like an elephant was standing on my chest, not to mention my knees and legs hurting and feeling like spaghetti. Y'all have a great weekend! My family and I are all going fishing on Sunday so hopefully we'll catch something other than a sunburn!
  5. Been feeling "hefty" lately. Haven't worked out since pneumonia last October. Been thinking about going back. Trying to walk more, work out my arms, just in my daily routine. Even though I feel like jabba the hut, I guess I don't look it. Had someone who sees me once a week, say you're looking good, you've kept your weight off.  I'll take that as an NSV!!;)

    NSV and SV!

I am beyond ecstatic. I am now below 300 pounds! I started at 540 pounds on October 29, 2015 when I started this whole journey. I had surgery on May 29, 2016 at 480 pounds and Now, 10 1/2 months later I weigh 297.8! I have not had a 2 in the front of my weight in FOREVER. I only have 98 pounds to go until I hit my goal! (Which may change, I'm more going for a clothing size goal now more than a number goal ) I used to have to be on oxygen all the time because I was so fat I could not breathe properly. Now I can walk for over an hour with no break and not be out of breath! I am so extremely happy with my progress! I used to HATE getting my picture taken, it was the WORST. Now I love getting in front of the camera, I ASK for pictures to be taken! This is the craziest thing for me. I feel pretty for the first time in a very very long time. I started out at a size 6x (36-38) and now wear a an 18/20 on top and 22 on bottom. I even wear leggings now! I have a large hanging skin on my stomach which I am having removed on June 5th! I will need a revision surgery when I get to goal but I am very excited for the surgery and the relief it will give me. Here are some before and after pics for you guys!

It's hard to get back in to working out after an illness or injury. I've had an injury and feeling the same, but good for you, all seems well despite the lack of intentional exercise.

  9. Congrats! I don't have any active NSVs yet, but I am happy to be able to fit almost all of my shoes now, clothes I haven't seen in over 5-10 years, and chairs that have arms on them.
  10. LittleLizzieLilliput

    My first big NSV!!!

I LOVE this!! Congratulations!!! The first time I was able to buy clothes at a "regular" store was one of my NSVs (I only just learned what NSV meant. lol!)
  11. I'm a nurse who works in the OR and we wear hospital scrubs... with colour coded size tags on the back for all to see... ugh Pre-op I've worn size "dark green" or XL for years. I had my first day back at work this week and... I wore "light blue" tag pants. LARGE! I was so excited. I probably could have worn a large top as well, but there weren't any. lol Pre-op, I made a list of NSV to look forward to and this was one of the first things I wrote down. Can't wait to scratch more off the list!

    Weight loss at 4 Months

Stalls are very frustrating but I don't give them power over me & my healthy decisions. I know we want instant results (myself included) but we didn't get in the situation that lead us to our sleeve journey over night & we will not get out of it over night. Surgery is a wonderful tool to get us to goal but it's not magic. What's worked for me is not obsessing about the scale & the number but rather the way my clothes keep getting smaller & nsv which are also gratifying. Take the time to recognize them & celebrate them. I get on the scale 2xs/wk to check in but when I'm in a stall I just keep doing what I'm doing & eventually it will show on the scale. My focus is always Protein & I think a protein rich diet changes my body shape/inches & the scale WILL catch up. (FYI.. I'm 9 mos out & 100 lbs lighter). Stalls are common.. don't let that deter you or get you down.. keep making healthy decisions & you will be successful in your journey. Best of luck to you!!
  13. NSV! Four inches off my waist since pre-op! I HAVE a waist again!

    NSV

Congratulations! Nsv are so important to acknowledge & be proud of!!
  15. I think my Ah Ha NSV moment came back about a year and a half ago when I could buy cheap $8 pack of underwear from Walmart. I knew then that I was now officially out of the Big & Tall stores only when it came to shopping for clothes. Now I am in suites, something that I think I wore maybe three times in almost 20 years, I've worn at least five times this year alone and we're aren't even in month number five yet out of the year. I have two custom tailored suites now, I hope by the end of the year I'll have at least five more to give me a suite for every day of the week. My next few NSV, which I am sure I can do now: Is to buy a complete from head to toe outfit from American Eagle or Abercrombie and Fitch. Outdoor Bike Trail Riding for 10 to 15 miles Do a photo-shoot. (Both clothing and nude photo-shoots. I have a bunch of photographer friends that will gladly do glamor shots of me) Actually attempt to do a 5K run. (Maybe in the fall)

    NSV

Today I am 2 weeks post op and I walked ONE mile. I thought about quitting at 1/2 mile but realized my legs didn't hurt. I wasn't sweating like a pig. I wasn't dying to breathe. I am now sitting in my car tearing up bc I walked ONE mile. This surgery is saving my life and I am so grateful.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Not 100% sure if this is a NSV or a crackdown on underage drinking, but I was carded twice while buying alcohol recently. I'm 36 years old and haven't been carded in at least 5 years! I know I look much better now maybe I'm looking younger?

    NSV!

I have a NSV these days. I'm 4 months out n lost 40 lbs. I'm half way of my goal weight. Well, I was buying a coffee and a stranger started talking to me, it took me some minutes to realize he was actually flirting with me! It didn't happen to me in AGES!!! I also look that guys turn to look at me n they give me smiles. Like ppl is more friendly. It feels fabulous! The only who is suffering with all this is my fabulous husband. Good he supports me in EVERYTHING.

    Rewards?

All the rewards I was supposed to get myself, diamond earrings and a fur I haven't got. Honestly there are so many little NSV every day I dont feel the need for erxternal gifts. Not having to worry if a chair is wide enough or can hold my weight is a gift that keeps giving every day.
  22. I love bagging up the fat clothes and getting rid of them FOREVER. It feels great! My latest NSV is weighing less than my husband. For the first time ever! I feel so much sexier being smaller than him finally.

    NSV

I had a great feeling today. I went for a walk with my parents in my neighborhood and I haven't really walked around the neighborhood in a long time. It brought back memories from over a year ago when I couldn't even walk one small flat block. Now I'm walking around multiple blocks and up and down hills. Without getting even a little out of breath. It was a great reminder of where I started and how far I've come.
