  1. Candy constipation at your stage..........yep I had it. I use benefiber everyday now but I think you have to wait a few weeks for that. I think it is the food change. The first month I was constipated. Never any diarrhea though Reggie. Changing stages was a huge temptation for me as well. I got tired of pureeing and the same foods over and over. Again I liked the soup stage I found purees harder to do. I have also probably experimented to much with food. Well salad is my perfect example. I have had it three times this week. I am thinking how I could replace it. But my stubborn mind says it healthy and why, why, why can't I??? It makes me full but I grew up with salads and no meat so maybe what I think is full is not the same as full for everyone else.................... Reggie I found after surgery I only like warm liquids. Not cold so I hear ya girl!! Weird because I drank diet coke alot with ice and loved it................. NSV- My underwear is falling off me again!! (TMI I know) second time in six week I have to make another trip to Lane Bryant, maybe next time I will be able to go to victoria secret!! The elastic just doesn't hug me anymore........Maybe I should ask Dr. Baggs to measure me instead of weigh me.........how embarrassing would that be!! Yep I see Robin this week and Dr. Baggs. I think I am working on 1/4 cup this week and not so much counting calories. I have been counting calories and estimating the size but realize I have it all backwards..............cup than calories. I feel like I am starting to make the band work!! LOL. But I have had some mess ups for sure with all this protien and vegetarian stuff.............again maybe four months was to fast for me to learn it all but I am finally getting it down!!

YAY my total loss is 90lbs the last 10 or so i can see a difference, it is hard for me to see what i look like, the other day i saw my body's reflection in a window and i really saw the difference in me for the first time!! this has been a hard journey but it is worth it all, my son got married in march and i am not the biggest person in the pictures that is such a good feeling!!! one more nsv my husband and i weight the same i just wish my 180 looked as good as his 180!!! i am in no way bragging about this just wanted to share with you all that it is possible. i am never hungry, have finally learned that you don't have to eat a but load of stuff to survive, i am very tight but havent had to have a fill in over a year. so if this slow turtle can do it you all can too.

I think we expect to have all out weight lost in the 1st year. I'm giving myself 5 years to get rid of it. Everything I've read says we will lose about 80% of out extra weight by then. I'm celebrating a small NSV, I was able to wear just about anything in a "normal" size store for the first time in my life, granted it was their largest size, but it was no nice, not to HAVE to go to the dat girl store!

    Non Scale Victories!

KMCD: No victory is small! I underestimated how uplifting a NSV could be, but I had 2 this past week: One morning, I decided to wear a particular blouse to work, despite the fact that the last time I wore it, it was so tight in my belly that I was miserable all day...and alas! It was LOOSE and very comfortable. A couple of days later, I suddenly realized that my bra was more comfortable. Didn't feel as tight in the back, and the shoulder straps were really loose! Now I can't wait to have to buy new bras and panties!
  5. I haven't had surgery yet (next Friday!) but I've been losing for the past few months and I'm 32 pounds down. I've been exercising almost daily and here are my NSV's -- I can see and feel muscular definition! Mostly in my arms and legs, but even in my abs when I do a crunch! I had to move the seat in the car forward. On the recumbent bikes at the gym, my butt fits in the seat now! (Before, it was uncomfortable because the seat has a back that isn't adjustable and so I always felt like I needed to scoot back but could not.) I'm wearing my wedding rings. (That's a big one.) I'm wearing clothing I haven't worn in a very long time, down from 24s to 20s. I even wore my Eddie Bauer size 18 jeans a couple times. I'm sleeping better - I must be snoring less, I think. And no reflux at night lately.

    Non Scale Victories!

Hi guys! I know there hasn't been a post here in a while, but I just wanted to share too. I gained weight this week (from over indulgence on my vacation) and I was feeling a little low. I went for a bike ride with my daughter today. I haven't gone in a few weeks. Anyway, I suddenly noticed that the strap on my helmet was WAY too loose! Small victory, I know, but I was feeling pretty down until then...hope everyone else is still experiencing those NSV's! Take care...

:tongue2:Karla, YOUR quilting retreat sounds like HEAVEN to me!!! I chuckled when I read about the skinny dipping - sounds like something I'd do. OHHH the food sounds wonderful too... this year you won't be able to eat 1/4 of it... what a NSV that will be eh? Someday, I would love to visit Montana it sounds lovely.. I love rugged out of doors.. guess that makes me a natural born Canuck hey!!! Back from my bike ride with DH, I thought we were gone 45 mins. but DH tells me no, it was more like 1/2 an hour:frown:
  8. Hi! I live right outside of Birmingham. I've seen your posts in the Miles & Schmitt forum and the 20's NSV forum. I am looking for someone to join a fitness boot camp with me. I don't feel like being tortured by myself. Let me know if you're interested. Maybe it can be something we can take back to the support group. I've been looking at Birmingham Adventure Boot Camp for Women - Birmingham

I don't know what your schedule is, but I'm interested in the camp starting in June. I teach, so I'm pretty much available for anytime. Let me know! Maybe we can get others involved.

Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1

Finally got my real first nsv. We had a fire drill yesterday at work so everyone had to evacuate to the parking lot at the same time. I saw one of my old co-workers I haven't seen in about a month. (we don't work on the same floor anymore). Anyways I saw her in the parking lot and we had a nice little chit chat mostly about my son and the prom. There was a few of us chating. I got a call shortly after I arrived at work from her today. She needed some help and she knew I knew the answer to her question even though I no longer work in that department. While I was looking for the answer she said "I didn't want to say anything in front of everybody yesterday but you look good, looks like you lost some weight." I thanked her for the compliment and she went on, asking if I was dieting and I told her well I've been eating a lot differently and I try to work out a few times a week. She said well you look good. I have to say that made me feel better especially since I don't know why but I gain 1 1/2 pound even though I have been eating right and very small amounts and working out almost every day.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

NSV: HELLO size 18 jeans!!! Just bought a pair on eBay last week and they came yesterday. We're getting ready to head out on the motorcycles in a few, and I had my 20's sitting there staring at me, but I thought, "Hm, maybe try the 18's. The 20's are getting baggy in the butt." I expected to get them UP but not necessarily buttoned and zipped. And OMG, they did BOTH! They're a teeny bit snug in the waist (they tend to stretch after being worn), but I didn't have to lay on the bed or use any devices to get hooked into them. YAY!!
  11. Nicole I would love to meet up next week but it would depend on the day......................I am going over to Pinole next week for a fill and only work two days next week. Ok so NSV...................my clothes are falling off me but only one pound down. Something is crazy here!! I feel good so I can't complain but.....my shoulders neck and face are almost to goal weight............LOL.................hope the rest catches up with me!! My size on top is now 14/16 three sizes down........bottom is 18/20 one size down............but some 16's are fitting...............
  12. Hi girls! Ok, I'm having a great day with SV's (scale victories) and NSV (non-scale victories) and wanted to share! 1: I'm on day 5 of my walk/jog workouts and I feel great! I have more energy after working out and my workouts seem to go by faster because I'm mixing it up! 2: It's been exactly one week from my first fill and I weighed today and....I lost 4.2 lbs this week! 4.2!!! That's nuts! I'm so excited and proud! 3: This is huge to me...I've been updating my ticker since I went to orientation in November and today when I edited it I saw that I'm now over half way to my goal! 62 lbs down and 60.5 to my skinny goal! I've been checking everytime and it's gotten closer and closer and now it's there! I'm officially on the downhill part of my weight loss and that feels so good. I've lost more than 50% of my excess weight loss. YAY! Anyway, I had to share my awesome news for today. I just grilled 3 oz of fish and had 2 tbsp of fruit and I'm so STUFFED. That's still such a trip to me that I am getting full on so little and such healthy food. Very very excellent. Hope you're all having a great day too!
  13. Gosh - thank you all so much for sharing... sometime when the scale isn't moving it's so easy to get obsessed by it - and I agree with your point about scale-a-holics. I went in for a little top up fill today and the nurse pointed out that I've lost 3 lbs in the last 2 weeks - and that's not bad at all... here I was thinking that I had stalled, and I haven't!! focusing on my NSV's and yours really helps with motivation. I'm going to keep this thread and make sure that I keep thinking about it. Best of luck to everyone!
  14. I had a NSV yest. I ordered a few dresses on-line from Ann Taylor Loft. ( I didn't have the guts to go to the store, as I feared nothing would fit) When I received the dresses and tried them on, they were all too big! I then returned them to the store and picked out items to try on, again all too big! What a delight!

Hi everybody. I'm doing great. My weight is finally starting to move. I've always been a slow learner, but I'm finally understanding this band - how it works and how to use it to my best advantage. I'm signing up for a boot camp (5 days a week from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m.):crying: starting June 1. I can hardly believe I'm doing that, but I'm calling it "my time." I think that's really going to push me even lower. I'm getting NSV's all the time now. I bought a couple outfits because my clothes were just hanging off me and the new outfits are already too big. I love this band and all of you!!!:smile2:

ROFLMBO...maybe I should have tried that! I definately count it as an NSV...it never hurts to have somebody find you attractive! Put in two applications for other jobs this morning, already heard back from one that my resume has been forwarded to the hiring manager. That's good news - I've passed the initial screening...hopefully I'll hear more as time goes on...but so far it sounds promising!

Hi Kids!!!!!! Happy Birthday, Long!!!....and...happy to have you back and to hear that you had a great trip. You stinker....not even a gain. Good for you! You are lucky with not getting tight when you fly. I attribute most of my 20lbs lost to flying. It seems to take me at least a week for things to be right again after I fly. It doesn't happen with every LB person but when it does it's like no hunger whatsoever. Never getting stuck, just not appitite. I have an NSV! Don't think I have ever posted one cuz just knew they came with weightloss. This one is a MIRACLE!!!! I have been doing a lot of weight lifting. Not too heavy...3lbs for arms. Well, my boobs started moving north and noticed over the weekend that they are sitting up there pretty good! Speaking of boobs....was at the lake since Wed. There was frost on the nipples every morning! COLD and WINDY each day except Sunday. Had fun though. Bunch of GF were up there and went out to a club, played cards, watched movies and cried, BBQ'd, etc. DH did not make it up again as he was still planting soybeans. Will be done about 4pm today. We are both going to head up again on Wed morning and stay till Tuesday morning. A bunch of HS graduation parties that we need to come back for on Sunday but will go back up after we hit them. Took me awhile to catch up with this thread. Haven't had time to look at any of my other ones. Sounds like everyone is doing quite well. Better get back to work so I can leave again! Hugs

2 NSV one over the weekend and one today!

Congratulations. It really feels good when something like that happens. My favorite NSV was when I went to the outlet store where I buy scrubs for work (I work in a doctor's office). At the beginning of my journey I wore 2X. I had gotten down to large and they were looking kind of baggy, so I went back to buy some mediums. I picked out some tops and pants, took them home, and when I tried the pants on they still looked baggy. I thought I can't possibly be a small. I went back to the store, only this time I tried them on in the store to make sure before I exchanged them. Well, the small fit, so I returned the pants (the medium tops looked ok--sometimes I am a small but mostly medium) and got all small size. I honestly can't remember the last time I took a small anything. It felt so good! I also shop at the local thrift store, and today wore a layered look top I had gotten there. Group support is tonight and I wanted to wear something other than scrubs. When it was admired at work I told them where I got it. I probably spent about $3.00 for it. Thrift stores are a great place to look for clothes, especially while you are losing and your size is changing. You can save a bundle. I have gotten past the idea that someone I don't know wore them before me. I even found a pair of Ann Taylor Loft jeans there. It was priced $6.98 but they were having a 50% off sale so I got them for about $3.50. I love them. They are kind of a brick red color, size 12 (down from 22W). I take 10-12 in misses sizes now. Pinch me! Good luck on your journey. You can do it. It is never too late, but never is too late.
  21. Over the weekend I was in a store and decided to try on a regular size 14, rather than a 14W - it fit! Woo Hoo! I started at a size 20W. Also... This morning at work, a female security guard ( located in the lobby of my office building) called me over and said " I've been watching you, you are really doing great - how much have you lost?" Woo hoo - so very few people say ANYTHING to me that sometimes I want to yell out - hey, look at me, can you see that something is different about me? I of course don't do it, but it does drive me crazy! Anyway, just wanted to share my NSV - - love to hear about yours!

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Good Sunday Afternoon Ladies! It is NSV time for me! (Non-Scale Victories) (but they are because if it wasnt for the scale going down, I would not be able to experience these!! LOL) We had our church picnic this morning at the Park...of course concerned in what to wear, i.e. with it being so hot, sweating, uncomfortable, etc. Welll...I had a blast! Yes, a Tank Top, of course the arms look big, but it was cool, started out with an overshirt, but as it got warm, as I ran through the water sprinkler park and played, and then even played Volleyball for a round! With energy to boot! Keeping hydrated, and bringing a little bit of my own meals to eat helped with lots of fluids. I used to dread this kind of outing, can't believe how much fun I had! Reggie, woman, you are on deck! "It's time to make that change", and you are gonna do so well! Heather & smallerj continue to prepare well, Candra too! Candra, no you don't need that much room at all for the Wii Fit, just like a square box round the fit board, and you'll be fine. Tina, you go momma! I know what u mean about the baggy clothes, somethin I also deal with, because if the fat is not there to 'protect' me, something needs to! But I wore a tank top today and worked it (wearing it, not feelin bad). Candi skinny momma, you go, can I have your 16's? lolol Hope the rest of our group is doing well, keep up the liquids with all the heat and get ready to feel less of it with losing more and more 'insulation' (I always had my private supply. lol) Have a good sunday eve.

    The Skinny on NSGs

So I finally got a chance to sit down and watch my DVRed episode of The Biggest Loser finale. I have to say, for a show that promotes losing weight and getting in shape, they make you sit in front of the TV for an awfully long time to find out who won. That aside, those contestants are damn motivational. Seriously, Mike lost over 200 lbs in 6 months, and that 64 year old guy who won the at home prize lost nearly as much and he was only on the Ranch for 2 weeks. If these guys can do it without surgery, surely I can be as successful with the help of my new, super, duper band. Personally, I wanted Tara to win. I think because I related the most to her. Sure, she’s a little younger than me, but only by 4 years. We’re still both in our twenties—the prime of our lives. She’s my height and was close to my weight when she started out—her just under 300lbs and me just over. She never fell below the dreaded yellow line and she won challenge after challenge. She was truly a force to be reckoned with. I hope that I can be half as successful as she has been. And speaking of the challenges, I come to the real point of this blog. By week 11, the remaining contestants were all confronted with a true test of how far they’d come in less than 3 months—they ran a half-marathon. Then, 2 months later they were faced with a doubly difficult challenge—a full marathon. Every remaining player completed a full 26.2 miles, even Ron—the 54 year old father with a multitude of health problems. If they can accomplish such a feat, in such a short time, I certainly can as well. And so I will. I have set a goal for myself. We all look for those NSVs that keep us motivated, and so I am setting myself a NSG—non scale goal. I am going to run a half marathon. A little bit of research on my part has informed me that there is one in Queens on September 20th and another in the Hamptons on September 26th. I will be at one of those two races and I will make it to the finish line.
