Banana, pnut butter, & plain yogurt smoothie. It's AWESOME! -
I am 10 weeks Post -Op and still can't eat eggs, cottage cheese bread of any type and barley can eat any meat and if I do get to eat meat I only can eat a couple of bites of a grilled chicken strip only no red meat or pork and then I'm full . I can eat yogurt and a half of a protein shake .I was wondering if anyone else has or had this problem of having a hard time eating at 12 weeks out ? I'm already down 60 lbs which I'm happy about but I would like to get more of a food intake. TYI

Hi guys Homecare thanks for the well wishes. Bobobaldy thanks for letting me know what happens when you get to target. Wow you've done fantastic. I was given a fill last Thursday 0.5ml which brings me up to 6.0ml in a 7ml band. Boy is it tight!!! Having the dreaded reflux at night and have never had that before. Was eating a yogurt earlier and threw it back up. Even icecream came back up. Managing to eat a few of those Carrs Cheese Crackers and of course the odd Malteser is managing to stay down  Hoping this won't last for too long otherwise I'll be back to see him for an aspiration. For the moment, Gaviscon and Rennies are my best friends!! -

I've been wanting chicken salad in lettuce wraps. I typically make my chicken salad with a little greek yogurt, mayo, crasians, and celery. I can't have the crasians, the celery, or the lettuce yet but this will be my first meal once I can. It's also good with cut up green apple and red grapes. Yum. -

I am so sorry to learn that you are going through all of this. I was on liquid pain killers. Hydrocodine and I had a pill for nausea that desolved in my mouth. You should still be on liquids and creams. You might want to have some yogurt so that you can tolerate your meds. It's gonna get easier. You are 2 weeks behind me. -

Sitting here eating my yogurt and thinking about you guys. I miss you! I'd love to say I'm at goal weight and stuck to my plan. However, that's not the case. Today is going to be a great day because I'm going to make it one! Taking the kiddos tonight to see Disney on Ice, not sure who's more excited them or me:-) Probably will grab a quick dinner on the way there, probably Wendy's so no problem I will just work it into my "plan" for today (which as you can see below is really under-developed). My goal is not to go over 1338 cal. for today. 88 oz of Water and I will try for those darn stairs again. Yesterday I got pulled into a meeting that went a lot longer than expected so the stairs didn't happen. However, today, I think the stairs and moving around as much as possible will help me get through this day with a smile. Today's plan B: Yogurt & trail mix- 250 cal 17p L: Not sure something light and low cal- try not to exceed 250 cal- maybe another jimmy johns unwich for 170 cal 22p (although yesterday the lettuce didn't seem to go down as normal.) D: Wendy's 4pc spicy chicken nuggets 170 cal 10p S: For Disney on Ice- Protein Bar 160 cal 20p I'm going to try and "save" some of my calories in case something unexpected comes along so I don't blow it out of the water and if nothing unexpected comes along well then I'll just add that as a win and hopefully this will assist in my weigh-in next Friday:-) Let's continue moving forward, no looking back, full speed ahead with our heads held high, shoulders back, smile on, working it! We should all remember how awesome we are and that just because we hit a bump now and then, that doesn't change a thing, we all get up and we're back at it today and that's ALL that matters! We don't have to be perfect to be successful! What is perfection any way?? I don't know because I've never seen it! 1-2-3 BREAK!

I still struggle at each meal. Heck, I'll do it even with a Protein shake. I have to will myself to stop at the 8 oz mark when I know I've got the other 8 in the fridge. Having to lose 14-20lbs before surgery
Alex Brecher replied to BeautifulSharifah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@BeautifulSharifah, It’s tough to lose that weight. That’s why you’re looking into weight loss surgery! But there’s hope! Have you asked your surgeon for a meal plan that can help you? Working at Chick-Fil-A is not the best, but it could be worse. Instead of thinking about what you can’t have, what about focusing on what you can? Chick-Fil-A has a bunch of junk – fried chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, waffle fries, Breakfast sandwiches on biscuits, and milkshakes, but they have plenty of good things, too. You can have grilled nuggets for 140 calories and 23g Protein, a side salad with light dressing for 105 calories, a Greek yogurt parfait for 230 calories, a fruit cup for 50 calories, and more. It should be possible to grab a healthy breakfast and lunch. Aside from Chick-Fil-A, you can focus on cutting back on unhealthy foods like sugary drinks, Desserts, and fried foods. You can also think about what you can have rather than what you shouldn’t. Think vegetables and lean protein, with some fruit and healthy fats, and you should be able to lose some weight. Finally, stay positive! You have a lot of reason to stick to your healthy eating plan, since the reward is weight loss surgery! Also, remember that you have plenty of time. It will probably feel like the weight is coming off so slowly, but that’s okay. You have tons of time, and can hit your goal by losing a pound a week. Good luck! -

My newest food addiction that seems to do well with my pouch is: 1 container of fage yogurt plain, 1 cup cottage cheese, 2/3 banana sliced thin, 1 tablespoon sugar free apricot preserves, 1 pack splenda. I only eat 2-3 ounces over an hour...BUT I mix it and keep it in the fridge. Good protein, soft, keeps my pouch happy. -
The stuff that sings to me....gets re-homed. Just takes too much emotional energy to slip up and feel guilty. I'm tired of the food drama in my life. My food at home falls under two categories... 1. Healthy legal stuff. 2. Naughy stuff my husband likes that I find repugnant. Not saying I don't eat treats once in a blue moon. I do. But I make a point not to bring it into the house, or only bring it into the house for a special occasion with a very limited quantity. Lots of steps that make me THINK about the choice. Not saying I can't make that choice once in a while....but it's gonna be my idea and not the singing. LOL:) I want my food choices to be deliberate. (even the occasional splurge) There is one legal-ish item that I struggle with a little. Yasso greek yogurt bars. God, how I love them. LOL. They come in a box of four. I usually get them when I take my mom grocery shopping. I take two home (one for me, one for hubby), and leave two at her house. They have a hell of a time singing to me....from her house:)

Hey girls! i am so sorry I havent been logging on as often lately.. I've been so distracted.. but first.. the guy I went on a date with was someone that I've known for a while.. we have history.. a couple months back he would ask me to spend time with him almost everyday for 2 months and I would say no because of my weight.. I guess i got happy that I've changed alot since the surgery and had the courage to spend time. It was a good time.. mostly talking alot! So as far as my diet I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong but I even cut out pureed beans because that has a tons of carbs and while i was eating it my scale did not move. As soon as I stopped eating it I've dropped some more pounds. I only eat dannon greek yogurt called light and fit (if I'm saying it correctly ) only 80 calories each 6 carbs and 12 of protein.. i eat about 2 of those a day.. each i eat half as a meal .. and I also eat cottage cheese.. and water.. I havent done tea in a while but I should today. At night i juice some vegetables and drink it slowly. That's all I do.. and now i keep my portions under 3 oz. sometimes i read the group chat and I feel bad because I dont know if I'm feeding my body right.. but i've lost weight and I feel fine. Maybe in the afternoon a little low on energy and I take a nap around 3:30 til like 5:30 then I'm fine again. I'll continue reading the chat to catch up.... and by the way thank you girls on the compliment.. it feel like warm hugs lol [emoji7][emoji178] -
I work 7:30a-4p. I usually have some coffee first thing in the am, eat a protein bar on my drive into work, at around 9:30 I have a Greek yogurt, lunch usually consisted of a roll up (turkey or ham with a wedge of laughing cow cheese spread over it, roll it up and cut in pinwheels) or some egg or tuna salad and a couple wheat thins, driving home I have a cheese stick or a protein shake, then dinner around 7. It wasn't hard at all to go back to work, in fact I went back when I was still on liquids. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Hello everyone . . . I hope you enjoyed Superbowl Sunday, whether you are into the game or not :0). Pamela, I am also feeling left out. I realllyyy want to see your tat in progress. This weekend was not a good eating weekend for me. After being so tight and uncomfortable last week, I was a big eater over the weekend. Maybe not so much a big eater, just eating not the usual bandster things. I had 2 pieces of pb&j toast for breakfast on Saturday. 4 Arby's mozarella sticks for lunch and one bite of chicken sandwich (it was gross for some reason . . . the chicken tasted weird and it seems like they must have dipped it in a vat of mayonnaise which I don't eat). I had Japanese spicy chicken at the Otani grill on Saturday night (I only ate half a cup because I was full on Miso soup and the salad before dinner of which I ate every bite). I kept eyeballing the sushi menu (but didn't order) through dinner . . . awfully tempting but I am not allowed to eat it during pregnancy. Sunday breakfast was a boiled egg, 4 or 5 oven-baked french fries, my favorite turkish cheese, a little lettuce, radish with fresh squeezed lemon and some green onions, and a few olives. Lunch was over at my friends house from China . . . she cooked something with maybe chicken in a soupy sauce that smelled funny and I couldn't eat it. I had slices of apple, orange and pear and 3 or 4 orange cream cookies. She also made a tea of dried dates and honey that tasted very strange and somewhat unpleasant but I drank it anyway. Dinner was eggplant mousakka, yogurt, a slice of bread and a small piece of cinnamon coffee cake for desert. My friend from China told me I should limit my pear intake during pregnancy because it is not good to eat very much of it . . . but rice wine is healthy during breastfeeding in limited quantities, I guess it must be cultural differences. I told her lightly that alcohol is also not allowed during breastfeeding because it passes into the infant. It is strange how much tastes differ amongst different cultures. I like chinese food from restaurants, but it must have been americanized . . . because authentic chinese food is really difficult for me to eat. Last time my husband and I went together to their house for dinner, they made shrimp, it was jumbo sized and was the whole thing, head whiskers, beady little eyes, legs and tail, etc. They cooked at the table in a electric wok thing in the center of the table. The chicken and tofu was good . . . but when they cooked the huge shrimp and put one on my plate I noticed the whisker was twitching. Now I know it was dead . . . being cooked in hot water like that, but I can't understand why the whisker was twitching (the whisker was maybe 8 inches long as well). There was just no way on earth I could peel off the extraneous body parts and actually eat it. I was embarrassed about it as well because I know it is rude not to eat it. Does anyone of us of the american persuasion not mind if the seafood is looking at you while you are eating it, or am I just overly sensitive???

Your plan is much clearer than mine. To be honest I have been taking the puréed to mean chew very well before swallowing. I just can't imagine blending my meat. I have been eating veggies most of last week though they weren't on my plan till this week. I only eat a few bites anyway because like you said there is only so much room in our stomachs. I am able to eat at the most 3-3.5 oz total depending on what I am eating. If it is yogurt or cottage cheese I can eat close to 4 oz, but if it is chicken or ground turkey only 2-3oz. Cereals are added on my plan this week ,but I do not know if i will eat any of them. I have never been much of a cereal eater anyway. Here is what my week 4 looks like
