Starting stage 3 tomorrow and need recipe help
Airstream88 replied to mxpxchik11's topic in Soft (stage 3)
I didn't make many recipes until I was cleared for regular food. For the soft stage I think I started eating yogurt with small bits of fruit, soft scrambled eggs, chili, meatballs with Low Sugar sauce, string cheese, and turkey lunch meat. i ate no veggies because there wasn't any room once I ate the protein. -
I eat two egg whites, fried in Pam, with no fat cheese at breakfast. I always eat 3oz of whatever meat at the other two meals rounded out with 1-2 oz of (green beans, roasted squash). I have three snacks each day out of: triple zero yogurt, two lifts cheese sticks or a shake made of 4 strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries, 6 oz water and a scoop of protein powder. I’m at ~ 1,000 cals a day, but I workout quite a bit.

January 2020 Surgery Folks
BadWolfGirl replied to TattooedSeaStar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last few days: Breakfast: 1 egg with half slice American cheese Lunch: 1 oz refried beans with sprinkle cheddar cheese, 1 oz avocado, 1 ounce sour cream Dinner: eggdrop soup with protein/collagen powder Breakfast: 4 oz cottage cheese with pureed pineapple Lunch: mashed cauliflower and parsnips (so much better than potatoes! So yummy!) Dinner: buffalo chicken dip Breakfast: 3 oz yogurt, 2 baby food (apple peach spinach pouch) Lunch: string cheese and applesauce Dinner: pureed lobster bisque (was so good I ate it too fast and got the sweats lol) Breakfast: 1/2 banana with 1 tbsp peanut butter Lunch: Yes! Brand soup (cauliflower and roasted potato) Dinner: refried bean plate as above. I've only been on purees/soft foods for four days so that's the basic run down. But I'm satisfied and happy! I don't snack in between right now because I was doing poorly on my fluids and it helps to have more time in between to drink more fluids. I hate protein shakes so viscerally much, I bought Genepro and have been just mixing that in my fresh iced tea. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk -
I am exactly in the same place as you. I've lost about 75 pounds since last years surgery date. I am around 190. I had hoped to lose 25 more before this date. Here are some of the things I have learned. I have heard that if you eat the exact same things at the same times of day that your body has become used to those calories. Try switching up your good a little even if you don't get in exactly 80 grams of protein. Maybe try trading out one of your protein shakes with cheese sticks or Greek yogurt. I will be interested to hear if it helps at all. If you are doing the same exercises, then switch that up to. Try a new one. Maybe your body is just totally freaked out! I have been trying that for a couple of weeks and noticed when I dropped my protein shake in the morning that I was able to get past the 4-5 pounds I had been playing with since late January. Good luck!

I work 7:30a-4p. I usually have some coffee first thing in the am, eat a protein bar on my drive into work, at around 9:30 I have a Greek yogurt, lunch usually consisted of a roll up (turkey or ham with a wedge of laughing cow cheese spread over it, roll it up and cut in pinwheels) or some egg or tuna salad and a couple wheat thins, driving home I have a cheese stick or a protein shake, then dinner around 7. It wasn't hard at all to go back to work, in fact I went back when I was still on liquids. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

I have a kinda grose question. I had a BM today, which was the first one that was not induced by milk of magnesia. It was orange! Has anyone else experienced this? My diet consists of eggs, cheese, yogurt, and peanut butter. I am concerned.....

I Am 8 Days Post Op And Eating/hungry Like Crazy Help!
SKCUNNINGHAM replied to SlowLossingGal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you are worried you have damaged your sleeve, go to the doctor and have him do a leak test. STOP EATING SOLID FOODS. PERIOD. It is too early for you to do that. You could get things caught in your staple line and possibly cause an infection or leak. Yes, you have a line of staples the length of your stomach. While that line of staples is healing, you need to be on liquids, then full liquids, then mushies. Nothing you mentioned you are taking bites of is OK. You need to be drinking protein drinks and clear fluids. Maybe some SF jello, or maybe yogurt. Ask your doctor. When I would get hungry(which was acid), I would take a GASX strip and drink either warm broth or warm tea. I would drink my protein drinks and calorie free liquids (Propel, etc). I was prescribed FAMOTIDINE (pepcid) morning and evening and I took a prilosec in the evening. Don't mean to be harsh - I am just worried you are going to hurt yourself. Please take care and let us know how you are doing. Good Luck! -
Ok I was starting to question myself, but it seems like a lot of people progressed to soft foods around the same time, if not quicker than me, lol. Such a variety. I was just thinking the same thing. The conflicting info can be confusing. The best thing is to follow our individual doctors instructions of course. I'm glad it wasn't just me that had an issue w/ beans. I don't think I'll try them again for a while. How do you know you're full? I always used to eat to the point of being stuffed, lol, so this is new to me! But when I feel some pressure in my chest or side I stop. I got an example meal plan from my Dr and I actually can't even eat that much yet. For Breakfast it said 1/2 cup yogurt and 1/4 cup smashed banana.. I couldn't even finish the yogurt before I felt stuffed.

What was the first food you ate when allowed solids
BackSpin81 replied to Lifeafter40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I start purees tomorrow as well and go back to work. I have stocked up on baby food (no judgement!! It's easier and convenient, and on SALE!), pudding, Greek yogurt, and apple sauce. -
Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?
MrsRoboto replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have my first weigh-in on Monday. According to my scale I'm down 11 lbs since my initial weigh-in (I need to lose 16 before surgery). But of course that's without clothes and first thing in the morning, so we'll see what they say. On Wednesday I went to my first of five Behavioral Skills classes. That was interesting and I feel it will be really helpful. It's been a little over two weeks since I met with the nutritionist and I go back in 2 weeks. I already feel like I've made some big changes. I'm drinking Protein shakes for Breakfast every day (the Premiere chocolate ones are quite good), I'm eating big delicious salads for lunch every day (Bolthouse Farms Ranch Yogurt Dressing? Amazing!). Last night I made a dish with quinoa. I've never even wanted to try quinoa before! And I gave up my beloved sour cream for plain Greek yogurt! I consider myself a pretty picky eater so these are pretty big changes for me already. If this is how I feel only a few weeks into the process, I really feel like this is going to be hugely successful for me. I am feeling so excited and ready. -
Any August 2017 Sleevers?
niseys4 replied to Jessalene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Dandelion 247! I too am 4 day post op & im experiencing simlar feelings as you are. Most of the pain I feel ,from reading what you said, is most likely from where the extra stomach was pulled out. I find that an ice pack for about 5-10 mins helps. But over all my pain has been tolerable enough I dont have to take my Norco but since i wake up at night with a pain that feels like severe hunger pains, i think tonight before bed i will take some. Hopefully i will be able to get a good nights rest! Today I managed to get down a little more than 24 oz of water & 60gs of premier protein drink. Plus I had 4 oz of warm chicken soup. Since I able to eat yogurt & cottagae chesse. I might try those tomorrow. Im glad you mention that being patient & not letting this be a weight loss race. That good advice. I convinced myself to only weigh 1 week at a time. I weighed myself yesterday just out of curiousity & im down 8 lbs since the day of my surgery! I want make sure i slow down some so my skin wont get to flabby before i can get back to the gym! Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app -

I'm allowed yogurt tomorrow. Pretty much I can go back to what I was doing pre surgery, just have to be more diligent about the no chunks what so ever in my soup and stuff. It'll be interesting. I tried jello this am and it was terrible. -
I got a strainer to strain out the pieces in soups. Since everything tastes so nasty I was very happy that the yogurt wasn't too nasty like jello, Popsicles and sf drink mixers are.

Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Congrats and welcome !!!! I'm on pureed but I have been eating fish with my dinner. I'm slowly adding new items but not all at once. My nut said that was ok as long as I am able to tolerate it. I found that the easiest way tot get my protein is scrambled egg for breakfast and protein shake throughout the day --I make mine with frozen fruit or fresh mango, a piece of banana, non fat Greek yogurt, some unsweetened almond milk and a scoop of vanilla cream protein powder. It has so much protein and its smooth enough and counts towards the liquid intake. I am in love with this smoothie. That's the easiest way for me to get close to my mark. Good luck!! -
Guess what?!?! Able to eat 1/2 container of Greek yogurt. I feel accomplished. I'm just waiting to get my cue to run to the restroom. Lol My insurance would cover my lovanox blood thinner injections and my zofran but not my liquid lortab. They wanted me to pay $75 for that. Bs! If I wanted the tablets it would be covered. But I can't take the tablets. And do I hope I am past the point of significant pain.

Thanks !! Yeah I figured I could drink it all day. How else would I get my protein? Lol I try to have fish or chicken a lot and yogurt and that shake. But I'm no where near my 65 g. I still have trouble with my vitamins. I need tastier chewables -

3 days.out only 1 sore incision site, was able to eat a full yogurt and a protein shake , still working on getting my water in it just tastes funny to me right now no matter what I put in it. Sipping, sipping, walking, walking -
I'd almost rather do ANYTHING than have another IV. The thought literally makes me feel like I'm gonna faint. So, I've figured out that my tiny tummy will hold 3 ounces of RTD shake. Not a drop more. Same with cream soups, yogurt or pudding. I just have to premeasure everything. Which is fine. It can hold more if it's like propel or a clear liquid. So I am going to try to stay hydrated above all else. The first 2 weeks my doc stresses hydration above all else so that's what I'm gonna focus on. I honestly don't think my tummy is ready to process a lot more than that yet. I have a funky metallic taste in my mouth that I thought might be ketosis, but I doubt it since I'm putting milk in my cream soups. My tastes have already changed. Sweet stuff gags me. It's way too sweet. I love plain water, now it hurts. I'm actually not disappointed in my results. I'm glad I can only hold such a small amount right now and that my tastes have changed. The only thing that scares me is my fluid intake. I actually think I'm going to focus each morning on my fluids and start my day that way until I get into a routine. I know I seem to complain a lot and I'm sorry it seems that way. I'm just more or less trying to update on where I'm at. Lol Even though I am struggling in certain areas I'd do this all over again. In an instant. I'm just trying to figure out my groove

Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Sarahjane79 replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah. Right now I eat half a yogurt for breakfast, the other half for lunch, a protein drink or 2 of some sort during the day, and then 1/2 cup of soup for dinner. And usually a pudding cup in there somewhere. I've been averaging about 400-500 calories a day. I try to add more, but with all the fluids it's hard to get any more in. It's already hard between the soup and protein drinks and and a yogurt to want anything more. I have to constantly remind myself to drink because I forget. Oh, I do eat a couple few popsicles a day too. -
You have lost almost 20 lbs and that’s great!!! What are you eating right now? Have you added to liquids? Are you staying in a calorie range? I had surgery on the 2nd and after week 1 could add drinkable yogurts and runny soups blended.. 60-80 g of protein and a 600-800 calorie range. I noticed I didn’t loose the first two days (was even up) of adding the soup and yogurt. Maybe you are just adjusting?

Yes, I buy premade meals. Another member recommended the Real Good Food brand. They have a lot of high protein low carb foods that you can throw in the microwave. I also do the high calorie, high protein premier protein bars. As mentioned, they are high calories but have tons (30grams) of protein. I don't find myself hungry very often so these work great as a meal for me. I will also do foods I dont have to cook like deli meats, cheese, yogurt, oatmeal, and fruits. Happy Birthday! Mine is on Sunday the 11th. I had ricotta cheese, butternut squash soup, mashed up avocado, yogurt and cream of potato soup. It has all stayed down so far I am just starting week 2 of my pureed foods.

Hey all how is everyone doing? I went to see Dr V yesterday and got a slight fill 0.175ccs. She is so awesome and down to earth. I love that little lady! Right now Im around 8.1cc in a 14cc band. She had to use a smaller needle than the regular one. I know Im close to my upper tolerance limit as Ive been up as high as 8.9 but really struggled with intolerances there Needed this fill BAD as my hunger was out of control and I had gained 8lbs (!) in the last three months. Im only on liquids and soft stuff like yogurt and cheese but my hunger is GONE!!! What a great feeling even if I know it wont last. *sigh* The parking at B +W is still a nightmare, They are doing just valet and handicapped in the underground garage. I parked across the street from the ER but you know what I think it costs more. I'll be tracking down those people who havent posted in a while. You best check in!
