    April 2019 Surgeries!

I’m 10 days out and on a limited diet. Just started grits, yogurt and cottage cheese yesterday. I have not had a full feeling yet with 2 tablespoons. I was hoping to! Liquids are easy and I’m using flint stone chewable vitamins no prob. B12 is under the tongue drops. I am moving normally with minimal pain, waking a lot. Down 15 since surgery.

    NSV's Spring 2019 Edition

I went to the mall yesterday to get resized for bras. I've been going to the same nice, older lady at Bloomingdales for the past 10 or so years. I went from a 44D to a 38DD! No wonder I was uncomfortable. My two favorite clothing stores are in that mall, Eileen Fisher and Nic + Zoe. I used to like them because they made nice plus sized clothes but Nic + Zoe only sells them online (I think). I went in Nic + Zoes and everything I tried on fit! I went in Eileen Fisher and bought a dress marked down from $300 to $75 size L, not even XL. I don't want to spend a ton on a size that I hope will be temporary, but getting a few things was great. Great shopping trip.

    Under 25 and choosing this?!

I'm 38 and wish I had done it 10 years ago. You're so young and have so much life left. I feel like I lost so much life being obese and rejecting outings and get togethers because I was embarrassed. Do what you have to do to live your best life. February 2019 weight loss buds

Okay so as I’m winding down for the day, I’m listening to my stomach gurgle and I ate dinner over 2 hours ago. It used to bother me a ton more than it does now, but I’m getting used to it and thankfully there’s not really a “hungry” feeling associated with the gurgling. Re stalls: not gonna lie— a stall is the the thing I fear the most. Now that I’ve seen that magical number starting with a 1 I’m scared to get back on the scale. I know I will in a couple of days, but seeing anything starting with a 2 after working so hard to get to this point will wreck me. I’m truly hoping since I’ve yet to have a single week with over 3 pounds lost that I’ll avoid a stall. Recidivist, my goal weight for May 31st is 189. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and working like mad to get in 10 pounds/month. I was lucky in April because I dropped 11.6. I’ve got to admit that sometimes I feel guilt reading about y’all who aren’t feeling the greatest. I’m extremely blessed to have a tummy (even a surgically altered one) that just doesn’t get upset all that easily. All in all, I feel great most of the time and when I don’t, it’s easily attributable to a poor night sleep, stress at work, or not eating/drinking enough and I can fix it fairly easily. I’m so sorry some of you guys are still feeling bad. Emzbee! So glad to see you back and congrats on 81 pounds. That’s a major big deal! The hair will come back. Heck I went a whole year with zero hair when I was on chemo. My best friend is a hair stylist and I had her shave me bald a week before my 3rd round of chemo because that’s when everyone loses their hair. It mostly came back. Some thinning, but I remind myself that I could be dead with hair or alive with a little less. This is the same except maybe not quite as dramatic. We will be healthier, thinner, BETTER , and less hairy versions of our old selves 🤣🤣🤣

    Hunger pains?

Not sure what is going on but I’m struggling with a terrible sensation of physical hunger today. I’m one week post op and I’m fighting a terrible common cold for the last 3-4 days. However I had all day this nagging uncomfortable sensation in my stomach and I keep thinking about food. I find it very difficult to keep my mind distracted from thought of food. I thought I was doing very well until today. I was not really hungry or thirsty but working on my requirements. I did not had to be removed from the kitchen when other people were eating. I was hoping that it would be a new tool that I gain to control cravings and appetite easier in my new journey. I have reached my goal of 64 ounces of fluid for today and I am about 67 g of protein. I will be getting an additional 10+ grams of protein by bedtime. I’m starting to hate the taste of all my protein drinks and I’m feeling a bite down write now. My main question is what to make of this ravenous hunger today?

    Coffee

I’m a sleever and I couldn’t handle Protein Shakes. The whey taste was too much. I have a nespresso machine and got my Protein in from day 1 with 1% milk lattes fortified with 10% or more skim milk powder or milkshakes with sugar free mix made the same. Do Decaf if it’s before bed, and down to one smaller latte now as get to target with food most days. Never had a prob with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Food Before and After Photos

Half a sandwich for lunch. The ancient grain bread from Trader Joe’s is great: 70 calories, 10 net carbs and 3 grams of protein. I ate it all. Very filling 176 calories.

  15. Today, I’m starting my vitamins, I chewed up the multivitamin and in 10 mins. I throw it back up, I could feel my stomach rejecting the vitamin and I knew it was going to come back up. It might be worth mentioning I took it on an empty stomach, was that the stupidest thing ever or is my body rejecting these vitamins?

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

IN!!! A week away from 3 months PO May goals: 1. Drop down into the 180’s. April 30th weight: 199.8 (barely squeaked my goal for April of hitting ONEderland) Should be doable since it’s “only” 10 pounds. I’ve been a slow but steady loser so far so fingers crossed I don’t hit any stalls this month. 2. Try out a Pilates 1.5 class. So far I’ve gone from struggling like the dickens to keep up to almost being able to do everything in the level 1 classes and I’m going to work up the courage to try out a 1.5. It’s all about getting out of your comfort zone and if we don’t do that, we don’t grow. 3. Self care. Some weeks I’m good at this, some weeks..... meh. Later today I’m going to pencil in meditation time and write in a bedtime and set my alarm every day for sleep. Going to do this for the entire month. I’m also going to schedule a cut and color and pedicure for later this month.

I plan on trying some wine when I am 10 weeks out as we have a "girls trip" planned to Vegas. Can't go to Vegas and not indulge just a little bit.

  22. And it might sound unbelievable but post - Endoscopy I never slimed or had foamies. Until you brought it up, I hadn't reflected on it that much. They told me each time for a week make sure you're using your C-Pap, well I usually use Uncle Snuffly anyway so no problem there. Yeah I was able to reschedule for Wednesday at noon. Only time they really had until July. Guess they might be centering on a new crop of Bariatric Seekers. Well it's 8 months for me, wonder if I still get an 10 month appointment or whether I wait until 1 year? I don't think I am following. their usual game plan!👈👸👉
  23. I had my sleeve surgery on April 26, 2019. Today is the 30th. Everything has been great since surgery except for one thing!! Periodically I have spasms/cramps in my stomach. It's not my incisions but inside. They only happen for a few seconds and then they go away. Sometimes they come back every few minutes. And other times it will be a few hours. Why do I feel these pains? They are getting really annoying!! Any advice would be awesome!

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Sending love to all the April 2019 lovely people. I hope all are doing well in recovery, liquid & purée stages and onwards. Thought I’d share a few non weight loss positives. 1. I can sleep more on my sides almost on my stomach (I am actually a side sleeper but have noticed how different being able to roll further round with diminishing tummy) 2. I went to the gym and rode the bike for 32mins this morning. And my legs as in thighs and calves didn’t feel like they were squishing whilst peddling revolutions. 3. Managed to keep food down that is puréed! Thank you to everyone in this thread, I’m grateful to have people on the same journey. Xoxoxox

I did the online seminar and then called to schedule my appointment with Dr. Boone, who along with his partner Dr. Higa, came highly recommended. That initial consultation took about a month and a half wait because they are in high demand. At the consult you meet with your Dr. then you will go with your health care coordinator to schedule your weight management classes and you will be given a list of tests that you will be required to complete, but they will schedule for you. They will also give you a brochure for BariatricPsychEvaluations.com. You can call them and get your psych evaluation done right away. You will do an online questionnaire and then a quick phone interview a day or two afterward so you can scratch that off your list. My required tests were- Psych eval, labs, EGD and a manometry. I started the process Sept. 12, 2018 and they submitted my papers to insurance on March 25, 2019, then called me on March 29th to tell me insurance approved and to see if I wanted to schedule my surgery on April 4th. I chose the sleeve and it was a very easy surgery with very little pain because they are so good at what they do. The six months goes by quicker than you think it will. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask 😊
