3days before surgery !
Jkpizano5 replied to Jkpizano5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone sorry for the delay I'm doing fine thanks God my surgery went very good had mild pain the main thing was the gas uhhg that hurts.. and one more thing I haven't had a bowel since I started the liquid diet and my sugery 7 days I have pass gasses but not the other sorry for TMI and in top of that my period came down on the third day after my sugery as soon as I came home but other than that I been good been able to tolarade food wel liquid I haven't vomit not once thanks God and been walking fine thanks a lot for your advices -
OMG Tina, I think you SO need to be a foster mom! Put some prayer into this one - sounds like you are already feeling some peace about it - the right thing will happen :-) I'm not talking about a 2-lb. gain here, I am talking about 6+ LBS!!! Way too much too be just water - I think. Although I did just pee for the 6th time this morning, TMI and LOL at the same time - so a lot of it is water and a lot of it is fatty liver from my carb-fest that started in oregon over a week ago, but some of it is also the fact that I am still doing what worked for me 80 lbs. ago, and my body is much much smaller and I need to do different stuff (like eat less, and change my exercise, and add in weights . . . ) now to keep moving forward. One thing that I CAN say is that since I have gained this, I do feel my band now! It will not let me gain back past a certain amount, and I am SO grateful for that! And also my clothes are not any tighter, and people keep commenting that I am still losing . . . so I am trying not to get disouraged and just pour in the water (already on 50+ this morning, hence the TMI above!) and walk a lot more! I did 11 miles yesterday and only 800 calories and still somehow managed to gain - probably because I have 4 servings of super-salty soup, calories count said I was over 5000 mg of sodium yesterday and if any of that had iodone in it, that is what the gain is from - I am allergic and swell like heck. But anyways!!!

What ya eating tonight?
pookybear replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had corned beef and cabbage tonight. Figured it would be fine since it was fine on St. Patty's Day. Let me tell you, cabbage coming back at you is the WORST. (Sorry for the TMI) -
Sherri.............That is ALOT of weight!!! I know your miserable but it almost makes it worth is I would think??? That is GREAT!! Hope your feeling better soon.......... I am banded and I still throw up sometimes. Sometimes cause I eat to much and sometimes things just don't settle right.............if I eat to much sugar I get the runs (TMI I Know) just about everytime...........sorta like band dumping I guess. But the further out I get the more my stomach is settling and not getting so upset about things............well fills and unfills cause it to flare its temper but foods no so much anymore. It gets better............

Does anyone get chronic stomach pain?
CapK replied to Shelleyvdp's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The dumping is brutal, but I agree with catwoman7... Only a minority of people get it. I dealt with it extremely badly twice (in one month), but if I am very careful about what I eat, its not a problem. If you do get it, work on finding your triggers and avoid them. I got RNY because of GERD and it is amazing not to have to deal with it anymore. Random stomach pain I get is usually always solved with extra fiber or gas relief. I have noticed that what I would consider constipated before is different than now, (TMI sorry) if I don't have a bowel movement at least once daily I get abdominal pain from it. Weird yes, but that's the new normal. -

I'm taking quotes for a back alley surgeon that will take this damn thing out NOW! Wednesdays are date night so Lee and I make sure that we save enough money out of our budget to go out once a week and do something without work or my doctorate program interferences. So last night we went to Dave and Busters (which is like Chuck E Cheese for adults!) and I ordered some grilled shrimp, veggies and potatoes. Seemed to be going down fine until about an hour later when I thought I was going to have to turn the stools and people in the game room of the builiding into hurdles on a track...I was running like there was no tomorrow because it was all coming back up (sorry...TMI). Then this morning...yogurt up and out. I'm ready for anyone with some surgical skills to put in an offer I can't refuse! I suppose that since I have been dealing with a lot of this for months now that I can deal with it for one more month. Sigh...It's just that now I know there is something wrong and that it can be fixed and that it is just not me being a screw up...I am ready to get my life back. This has been beyond frustrating. Well papers are not going to grade themselves. Karri -

Insured with USAA. Loomis is Marsh Risk something or other... out of Texas, I think. Only been up an hour, but pain is no better this morning. Could barely walk from the bedroom to my chair. Not going to Primetimers... I would be miserable trying to sit in those hard chairs. And today's program.. someone from one of the hospitals is coming to speak on how to improve our sleep, I think. I think I've heard all that before. I don't know what to do... go back to doctor, go see the physiatrist guy I saw in June or maybe just shoot myself and be out of my misery!!:eek::thumbup: I couldn't even walk my puppy last night. I made it as far as the end of the sidewalk and had to come back. I was going to walk to the dumpster and the mailbox at least. Figured I couldn't make it all the way around but thought I could make it that far. I already told you guys about the frustrating dental appt., right?? Things aren't going so great at the moment!! You're really doing GREAT!! Calories, exercise, etc.! Good for you! I know you said chiropractor, and use ice. I have NEVER been to a chiropractor so I guess I'm a little afraid. And starting to wonder what is going on because this pain is radiating around to the front.. my left hip, waist, is where it is hurting most. TMI.... but.... it even hurts to fart!!:tongue2: I haven't tried the ice.... I know, my BAD, but.... I'm always cold... and can't stand the idea of ice. I keep thinking I need to freeze some ice bags... but haven't done it yet. -

Candice, scratch, scratch...sorry, been there, occasionally called 'crotch rot', I know TMI Anyway, I haven't had any blood work done for several years. I knew it was bad, so why get it tested to find out it is still bad. Up until lately, I had so many drs. poking, proding, and flayling me open that I didn't really want to have anything to do with them for a long time. I know I will be going back soon. My doc holds my prescriptions for ransom. But I delay it as long as possible. I usually can get the pharmacy to fill things for an extra couple of months. However, I know she is going to want to take my estrogen away, and right now...over my dead night sweat body. I did reduce the level in half this year, maybe I'll go for a quarter next year. I have always used the patch, but this year I am going to have to go back to the pills, the patch costs me $60 per month and I can get the pills for under $10. I know Steph, I got so ticket off at how the ex was treating DD#4 that I couldn't even get past my anger. I need to figure out what EXACTLY she needs and then send it out there. Nag me okay. Send DD#5 off to college tomorrow. I am really bummed that I can't help her move in. It is my fir PIR day at school and the rule is..."Thou shall only be excused if dead!" So after school I will head in to see that she is settled and maybe take her out to dinner. It is only 20 miles away, but she is such a social bug it really is like 1000 miles away. We will rarely see her. Took the puppies for their walk and then mowed the yard and north 40. After DD#4 gets back home with my car I am heading into school. Need to unload thos boxes of school stuff I brought home for the summer and NEVER touched. Yeah like I ever do. Some day I will realize that and just skip bringing stuff home. Cooking stir-fry for DD#5's 'last supper', her favorite. On the exercise thing, I am walking 4 miles a day. Tomorrow I will ride my bike to school and back. Not very far, only a total of 6 mi. -

Okay, Karla..... here's a tidbit for you...... Earl had to spend HOURS fixing the bed yesterday! HAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA :w00t::lol::lol::eek: The sleep number bed sprung a leak and my side went almost flat! Actually.....I've been telling Earl for WEEKS that something was wrong. Controller is on HIS side (of course, the control freak). So he sets it on 55 for me at night and by morning it's feeling a whole lot softer than that. Now... this is again TMI, and I haven't even had a DROP of wine... but for "certain occasions" he sets both sides on 100. So, he noticed the other night that i was right and it was definitely leaking. So he took it all apart yesterday. In the process, one cord dropped down in t a hole and then he REALLY had to take it all apart. But, he tightened up all the hoses and connections and now it stopped leaking! Now you all know a LOT more than you need to! TOPS weigh in..... after my birthday AND Thanksgiving, AND the 17 lb turkey that Earl bought AFTER that, I was down .8 lb!! I was VERY happy! I didn't deny myself anything, just had small portions! And still lost! If I'd eaten like we normally do, however, it probably would have been one of those -5 lb weeks! Since I know we're having wine and decadent desert at Janet's, I parked my scooter at the clubhouse after water aerobics and walked to the office and back to get the mail! It was either that or ride the bike. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow. -

Good Evening Gang Aint going to the gym- I am pooped - so will do some wii instead (well maybe ;0) Candice I missed this yesterday 1) Eat EVERY 3 hours, weather I am HUNGRY or not... 2) Each time I eat, it must include PROTIEN - You mean you didnt - I might not have hard protein for bf but yogurt does have pt in it - 3) No drinking with meals ( i wasn't doing this) but I need to WAIT One full HOUR before beverages. 4) Between meals I must drink MORE water... he thinks I am dehydrated and that's causing fluctuations in my B/P... (makes sense) I HAVE BEEN BAD ON WATER MAYBE THAT'S WHY MY HEAD HURT TODAY 5) I must NOT skip breakfast, under any circumstances... if I am TIGHT, then have a pro shake or pro bar, cut up in very tiny peices. I EAT BF 5 DAYS NOT SO MUCH ON THE WEEKENDS BUT SOMETIMES I DO 6) I must stop saving Calories to Eat at night... to the detriment of rule #1 & #2... if I am going to snack in the evenings it must include a protien source...ie. pc of cheese, then the popcorn... or NUTS, then a SF, FF pudding or yogurt THIS I DISAGREE WITH NOT BUDGETING CALORIES /BUT THAT'S JUST DR JANET - AND SF PUDDING & YOGURT DOES HAVE PT - NUTS HAVE ALOT OF CALORIES SO BE CAREFUL 7) strive to eat more veggies and fruit, and if I can't tolerate them... then I may need a slight Un-fill... AGREED I EAT MEAT AND VEGGIES FOR LUNCH & DINNER 99% OF THE TIME AND FRUIT IN THE MORNING.. 8) No carb. beverages.. (o.k. cause I don't drink them anyways) He said I was "setting my body up for failure" because I was NOT eating enough protien, plus with working out at the gym 4 times per week, I need MORE cals on those days... up to 1250 cals... and increase PROTIEN... So I think I can do this and refocus myself... eat more HIGH quality foods and less junk... he didn't say to completely eliminate sugar, but I think I'll do that anyways... gotta get the cravings under control.... YEP GF YOU KNEW ABOUT EATING JUNK !!! IT'S ABOUT EATING HEALTHY - I HAVE BEEN PREACHING THAT FOR 2.5 YRS ;0) Glad you are refocused Well - tmi - I a constipated !!!! I haven't been drinking enough water - took some phillip hope it works.. -
June Gastric Sleevers Out there
livingmore replied to skjerstad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes we need a secret group. I would love to be part of that. Only my husband and mother know. On another note, I was sleeved June 30 and am also in a 6 day stall. I've lost 11 pounds since surgery and lost them on the first few days then nothing since! Of course I also haven't had a BM in a week! ???? Took some miralax yesterday and today so hoping that changes soon! Sorry TMI!! -

Just back to vent!! Had surgery Monday 10/1. Surgery was more involved than they thought. I had a large hiatal hernia that needed to be repaired and a lot of scar tissue adhesions that had to be removed. I went home Tuesday and felt pretty good. Wednesday I felt really good and was excited. Well Thursday I woke up feeling like shit. I couldn’t drink and had the diarrhea. Of course I had to get my period also (tmi) which really put me over the edge. After being sick all day Thursday I was sent back to hospital Friday for iv fluids, nausea meds, and stronger pain meds because of the severe stomach cramps. I slept most of yesterday and woke up this morning feeling good again. Now as they say has gone on I feel like shit again. I am totally regretting this as I just want to feel better and eat a friggin meal. Since 830am I’ve only been able to get in 20 oz. then I get the diarrhea again!!!!!! I have 3 kids and I have to go back to work Tuesday. I guess I just wasn’t expecting to feel this bad at this point. Just feeling sad.

Ok, I just had to share this with ya'll. I had the most embarrasing sliming episode tonight at dinner. My fiance and I went to La Madelines for dinner, I ordered rotisserie chicken. Fiance got a salad, and out of habit I picked out a few croutons from his salad. A minute later I wanted to DIE. I was hurting soo bad. I drank a sip of Water trying to get the crouton to go down, but it just kept hurting. Then I started to slime and then the water came back up, all over me and the floor. I wanted to die. Probably TMI, but anyway. That was my embarrasing night. Hope ya'll all had a wonderful mother's day. I'm finally finished with finals and headed home to visit my mom for a week, so I'll be kinda scarce in posting, but I'll be sure to check in on everyone!! Hope ya'll have a great week! Kristin

Sorry! But I have to ask....BM's
gingerjane replied to Megg40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly? I pass it. LOL! I try to muffle it - I have an office with a door, so I'm able to do that here, or else I'll go into the bathroom. I do have some gas x that I will take if the pain gets bad. And I spoke too soon about the BM. Goodness sakes the mother of all hit me not too long ago. I guess it takes a few days for your system to start getting rid of things. Sorry for the TMI! I was relieved and yet like "oh crap" (literally) at the same time. :frown: -
I was sleeved on 8/21. After 8 days of no BMs, I called my doc about it and he told me to take some milk or magnesia. He said it would push the waste right out of me. I brought some expecting for it to work over night. It worked in less that 30 mins and I dropped 3 lbs to boot (TMI).
-
Ok, I really hate to go here, so read no further if you didn't have to go here the night before your surgery. My dr. requires you to have a "fleet enema" the night before surgery. I've had 5 or 6 surgeries under general anesthesia before and this has never been required. I think it is a personal preference of my doctor?? Anyway, I'm reading the box and it looks like this is a two person event, LOL?! It has you "assuming position" before using it and the box speaks in context pointing out what the person receiving treatment should be doing, as if you'll need assistance when you're in this position? Anyone, did you do this yourself? Did it work the first time (God forbid it takes twice)? Was it really horrible? This will be the worst part of the 24 hours leading up to and after... Thanks!

Tmi question: when should I have a bowel movement? It's been like 5 days...is it normal not to have one after surgery? Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

The first day I was in shock I think, second day by far the worst. I had the worst headache ever and couldn’t stop pooping (tmi). I did expect this as our bodies detox. My headache has gotten a lot better but I’m just so exhausted and starving!!!! I’m trying so so hard but I just want to sleep for the next week!!!

this was day 5 for me. overall, i feel great. very little pain of any kind. occasionally there's a little discomfort/gas pain. i feel like i want to burp or hiccup but can't. actually, my biggest annoyance is that i'm really, really hungry. yesterday was my first day on all liquids, and i had a smoothie. today, i've had at least 800 calories of juice/smoothies/soup and stillllll hungry. guess i'll be making that first fill appointment asap. also, i'm retaining water and i've actually gained about 5 lbs since surgery. i don't feel backed up or anything. but i wasn't on any pre-op diet, so i was ingesting plenty of calories right up till surgery, but it's been 6 days since i've had a bm. sorry if tmi. i'll probably roll out the milk of magnesia if nothing changes by tomorrow. -

Yes congrats on the quitting smoking! I've been smoke free for three months now and I just now feel like I can breath so much easier. I also seem to sleep a lot better too. Finally stopped hacking crap up:ack2: (TMI I know..) For all of you looking for good Protein shakes, try Isopure. There's actually an add for it over on the right of the page a lot. It's the best quality protein and is very very low fat and carb. I think with a little added sweetener and even some various extracts, it tastes great. You don't even need to blend it, it mixes fine with a spoon. Just a thought. Good luck on the preop diets everyone I'm struggling, but getting it done without cheating, so far  -
