Debbie, that so exciting about your diet returning to normal tomorrow! Yay! You will be getting fills in no time, and 37 lbs without one is amazing. Did getting your esophagus stretched hurt? Sounds painful to me. I am very sorry about your mother in laws declining health. I pray she is in a good place emotionally and is not in much pain. Breakfast - 6oz yogurt lunch - 1/2 tuna sandwich on wheat bread, about 8 grapes dinner - 3oz crockpot pork shoulder, 3oz sweet potato snack - went to baby shower, had 4oz fruit punch and 1/2 piece of cake Exercise - 1 hour of walking around the lake (about 3 miles) I gotta admit I have been struggling emotionally the past few days. I am dealing with low self esteem due to being the fat girl for so long... It's so hard to see myself any differently :/ I also feel guilty whenever I eat food I really enjoy.. Or treat myself.. I keep wanting to push my daily calorie count lower and lower. I know it's unreasonable.

Thank you!! Do you notice any more restriction yet? My desk is directly next to the lunch room (there isn't even a door so I look into it all day). Someone brought in a pan of brownies, and twizzlers. GRR! I didn't eat any but that was torture. lol. I told a couple of co-workers about my band and one was very curious! Hello every one! Well had my upper gi done today. Dr. said every thing looked good and he stretched my esophagus and I should be able to start my regular diet tomorrow but I should stick with cream Soups and milk shakes today. Of course I went to the store and bought frozen yogurt to make my milk shakes with. My throat is pretty sore but if this will get me back to being able to eat with out vomitting it back up I will be happy. I have lost a total of 37 lbs and that is with no fills yet. I can't believe it is almost 3 months from my surgery already. I'm a little up set because I have had these problems but at least we are finally working on getting me back in a healthy state. Sometimes I just wish my Dr. would have listened to me when I told her the first time. I remeber telling my Dr. after two weeks of surgery that I felt like something was stuck in my chest. If she would have done the test then she could have saved me some time. I can't believe that most of you are going on your 3rd fill and I have not yet had my 1st fill. Well my mother in law can longer walk because of the cancer on her back is press on her vertabra and she no longer has any feeling in her legs. I feel helpless for her and my husband. I went thru this three years ago with my dad and I rember feeling useless so I no how my husband is feeling. I'm really sorry I'm not on as much as I had planed to be, but I'm sure in the future I will be her more to support you all and get support.

Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!
LisaA replied to Brian-LA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all. You are right Joany, you can eat all the icecream and candy you want, no restriciton will stop it, to bad we don't have a quick super fill, close the whole up when you are near stuff like that, then let it out- ha ha. The other problem with the sweets is they make me even hungrier once I've had the sugar. my instinct diet book is big on desserts with fiber and fruit and protien- all three if you can, so you feel more full and satisfied. My favorite one is a 100 calorie- light and fit vanilla yogurt (the low cal kind- with aspertame or whatever, my yogurt during the day is a live active yogurt, and has more cals, but this is dessert) high fiber cereal, frozen raspberries, and melted dark chocolate- the portions work out to 100 cals- and it is so satisfying - and feels like a real dessert. not really pretty, I wouldn't serve it at a party, but for me it's great. so Joany I am self pay, no coverage- I have an HSA that I use for this, I hope the IRS doesn't mind. This blind fill place I think should be good, I hope, and if not they are close enough to not be a problem. I guess some blind fill places say if you have to come back for adjustment within 2 weeks it will be 50$. so hopefully that will be the case. I love the OCC dr's in Tijuana, very professional, and they do a great job. Thier fills are tops for sure, wish I lived in the area. But for me it's a day off work, babysitting, plus probably like 500$ in flying, parking, ground transport and other fees. I know some places charge almost 400 for a fill, so this 150 place is exciting prospect and I won't have to take off work or get a sitter. well have a great day all -
Thank you! Oh no. I hope you are still able to do the memorial ride. Breakfast - 5oz greek yogurt snack - 12oz tea with skim milk, 2 tsp sugar lunch - 1/2 whole wheat tortilla, 3oz deli turkey, tomato slice, lettuce, 1 tsp hummus, 1 slice of mango Snack - 8oz skim milk dinner - 3oz tilapia, 2oz broccoli, 2 oz diced peaches So I used to like Mio.. tried it again in my Water tonight and i feel like puking... Something about the flavor of it. Crystal light does the same thing to me. I cannot stand these calorie free flavor things.

If I have the time, I cook a sausage patty, scramble an egg, stack it, and melt a slice of cheese over the top, and split it---more of a 2/3 & 1/3 split, giving my 2 yr old granddaughter the bigger half! If I don't do that I will have part of a container of yogurt with granola. Or some cereal, with milk. I have also been known to eat leftovers for breakfast. My favorite used to be spaghetti---now I must eat a small amount at dinner, and for breakfast, just can't do it!!! I will eat a left over piece of steak, or a burger or something like that though. I too find myself thinking less about food through the day, if I start it out by eating. Kat

Hope you all had a good day. I have noticed my eating habits have changed the past week. I have been burping a lot today while eating and feeling uncomfortably full just from 1/2 cup of food. A couple weeks ago I could 1 cup with no problem. Is this normal? Also.. spicy food is a no-no. I used to LOVE food spicy. My sister is having a get together tomorrow and I volunteered to make the food so I can make it band-friendly. I am going to do chicken chili and lots of fruit/veggies. Has anyone tried Diet Snapple? I found one that is 10 cal per bottle and 0 carbs... I am wondering if this is good choice? juice was one of my issues before so I am trying to find a healthier option. Here is what I ate today.. Breakfast - 1/2cup yogurt, 1/4cup peaches lunch - 1/4 cup shredded beef, 1/4cup mango snack - 8oz milk dinner - 1 tomato slice, 3 pieces of grilled shrimp (MISTAKE. The shrimp was too tough and did not go down well) Snack - Water and 4oz pineapple juice

Didn't do that great today. The family dinners and brunches are taking a toll. My cravings are bad and I'm not making great choices. I am mad at myself for slipping into some old habits. Thanks so much Breakfast - 5oz yogurt lunch - 1/4 turkey wrap with light ranch, 1 piece of strawberry, 1/2 pickle spear dinner - 1/2 of a chicken taco snack - 10oz mango raspberry smoothie from Ben & Jerrys. I asked for half size so it was only 125 cals vs 250. Was my treat of the week. Lots of Water Walked for a couple hours Today I had a NSV. I went to a THEME Park!!! First time in probably 4 years, and better yet I was able to fit on every single ride. I was careful not to go on rides that put pressure on my port area. I am so happy. Will make a post about this with pictures tomorrow. Thank you all for the encouragement and I hope you all had good weekends

Debbie, no skipping breakfast! Lol. Did you have trouble with the egg rolls? What kind of chicken? I am asking cuz I haven't had Chinese food since surgery and don't know what's safe and what's not now. @Gillybean I GAINED 7.5lbs once I switched from liquid to food, so consider yourself lucky. haha. Seriously though, I think this is totally normal. My surgeon said not to expect any loss for 6 weeks. And once we reach the green zone, we won't be losing more than 1-2lbs a week. So actually.. you are doing great. Avoid the scale for the next month. @whymomwhy Sounds like things are going well. @Lose_It Thats smart. I'm doing the same and no major issues. I found shredded beef in sauce worked A LOT better for me than ground beef with sauce. Easier to chew down. Its funny certain things work and certain things don't. Fish has also been very easy to eat. Well today I had my first NSV! I am going on a cruise in a week and I ordered 2 formal dresses online (one in size 18, one in a 20.. I normally wear 20). Tried it on when it arrived today and a size 18 was way too big on top! The dress is plus size so didn't even come in a 16 which I needed. I cannot wait til I am out of plus size entirely, but for now... this feels pretty good Here was my day: Breakfast - 1/4cup yogurt (I noticed my band was really tight this morning) snack - 8oz milk lunch - 1/3cup shredded beef, 1/4cup peaches, 2 small pieces of broccoli Snack - 8oz milk dinner - 1/2cup chicken noodle soup Snack - 8oz milk Exercise - did 30 minutes on the elliptical, some arm raises with 5 lb weights, and leg stretches.

Whymomwhy - you're able to eat sandwiches? I miss those. Ive had a teeny bit of wheat bread toasted before my fill... No issues. I think I need to test my band a little more. I miss the variety of food I was eating before surgery and hope I can still have that again. I miss spaghetti, eggplant parmesan, Mexican food, etc. Here's my day: Breakfast - 6oz yogurt lunch - 4oz grilled chicken, wheat pita, garlic hummus, 1 watermelon slice snack - 8oz skim milk dinner - lean cuisine (was short on time). 2/3cup of baked turkey slices and baked apples Snack - 8oz milk or 4oz activia I will be out of town Thursday through Sunday at a church event I attend each summer. Going out to eat every night. I plan to treat myself every day but stick to 1cup or less portions. Bringing my gym clothes so I can exercise at least once in the hotel.
