    NSV shout outs

*I took a bunch of clothes to the consignment store *I gave about 20 pairs of pants the next size down to my good friend who has been out of work for six months. *I bought some clothes on sale the next couple of sizes down and flew through one size before I wore them. *I bought a beautiful outfit to wear to a cocktail party with my husband's new work people. I've never met them before and I won't feel self-conscious about how I look now. I'm going to wear it to my daughter's wedding on the cruise ship in October too. *I bought a pair of 'girlie' shoes to wear with the outfit. They are 3 1/2". I can't remember the last time I wore 3 1/2" heels. I've been walking around the house in them to practice walking in them again. lol *My latest NSV is really a scale victory. I broke my stall and now have less weight to lose than I've already lost. Hooray! (in my very ambitious goal)

    NSV shout outs

Well, I just spent the day shopping for my trip next week to my banded dtr's in KS. I was a 3-4X top and 26-28 bottom before WLS. Let me tell you. I bought 16-18 tops and a 16-18 sweat outfit with a "hoodie" mind you. I was flying high. People thought I was crazy. I was turning in circles and "Yahooing" all over the place. (not quietly either) My husbsand just stood there and laughed at me. Was really fun. I didn't buy much because I still have 35-40# to go yet but what a nice feeling. Makes all the effort worth while. What a nice NSV.

    Lets Celebrate !!!!!

I LOVE THE NON-SCALE VICTORIES!! I had a NSV this past weekend. I spent a total of 21 hours (12 hours on Sat. & 9 hours on Mon.) redecorating my parents' bedroom for them. That included moving furniture, scraping, spackling, sanding, painting, removing old carpet & blinds, laying new carpet, and installing new blinds. I am 39 y/o. The last time that room was redecorated was when I was in jr. high. It was in pretty sad shape. I was up and down the ladder too many times to count, crawling on my hands and knees to remove the old/lay the new carpet, and probably walked a total of 15 miles while redoing the room. I had no trouble w/ all of that work... no muscle aches, no fatigue, etc. I guess losing almost 50#'s gives you a lot more energy. I can't wait to see what my energy level will be like after I lose another 100#'s and reach goal! :blushing:

Those are awesome NSVs, Sarahbellz! I still can't cross my legs comfortably. It's great to see you back on here. Please keep checking in with us! I have another NSV -- a funny one -- I put on a pair of capris on the other day, and they were a bit baggy. I was in my bedroom debating whether to wear them or not, and I tugged on them to see how loose they were. Well, they came off even though they were zippered and buttoned! LOL

    I'm here to help...

Hello all. Real quick drive by post. I am so tired after this day at school I just need to take a shower and go to bed. Had Nutrition class and Medical Ethics class today. Was on campus from 1-7:30. Plus, the parking was horrendous so at least I got my exercise in. But, my NSV today was that I did not get tired when I climbed (quickly I might add) the 3 flights of stairs that in May had me exhausted! I was happy about that for sure. Did well on my eating today. So that was good too. Ok, I'm so sorry, but I am so tired that I feel like my eyes are crossing. Real quick though, Phyll.... You go girl!!!! Way to get out there and back into the swing of things! I give you a lot of credit. Super impressive. Oh man, you must have felt awesome getting out! Ok, more tomorrow, will comment on everyones then. It took me awhile to read all posts bc I had been reading all day long. I start my weight training sculpt and tone fitness class tomorrow, then Physics in the evening. Will be on campus 3-10, so I wont check in til later since I have to get all my stuff together for tomorrow. I get nervous driving downtown sometimes. Its only a 15 min drive, but I have to go through some sketchy neighborhoods on the way there and back. Makes me kinda nervous, so I get super stressed now that I have to go there 4 days per week. Ok, I thought this was going to be much shorter than this. It's already 12:30!!!! Night. Love. Meredith

Chancie, I love your NSV #4 wearing a summer dress and feeling like a lady. I haven't been able to do that in sooo long. I am hoping for that next summer. How wonderful for you, it's inspiring me. I love that feeling too, and sure do miss wearing summer dresses. Maybe we should all write these victories down on paper and post above the scale, so when we have a stall, we can look at all our victories, and keep on going. God bless you guys, you're great!
  7. Hi all, I just had to share a HUGE NSV (non-scale victory) with my friends here! It took me 8 hours (non-stop) to clean out my closet and get rid of clothes that no longer fit. I am happy to report that there is no articles of clothing in my closet that are 1,2 or 3X. I am also happy to report that there are no pants with a "W" on the end (18W, 20W, etc). The ONLY sizes I have in my closet are 14 & 16 pants, and L & XL shirts. I have previously cleared out sizes 20, & 18, but this one is the best so far (of course). I know there will be at least 3 more "closet cleanings" for me, but I feel so great right now, I just wanted to share. Thanks for listening!

Congrats to EVERYONE!!! I too LOVE this thread!! Dange- Thats too funny 'bout the pants!! Good thing you were at home!! 1) I think one of my favorite NSV is being able to paint my toenails!! I could hardly bend over before to even clip them! 2) I can also put my cars seat all the way front- and still have room between the steering wheel and my belly!!! And I can even put down the arm rest now! 3) When going to a restaurant, not worried if I can fit into a booth! 4) Being able to wear summer dresses and feel like a lady! There is so much more... but thats what comes to mind right now.

Way to go Ruthi! I remember how excited I was when I fit into my first size 12s. My biggest NSV ever was when I was talking with my trainer awhile back about putting a profile up on a dating site. I asked him which box to check, average or "a few exra lbs." I wanted a man's opinion. He said You're definitely average. That same day, a man at the gym asked me how I keep my legs so toned. I was literally shocked. I just pointed to the machines I use.

I think it's the U-touch that makes husbands jealous. :biggrin0: Some recent NSVs: -Some pants I bought two months ago are too big for me now even though I haven't gone down that much on the scale -The other day I saw a picture of myself and instead of noticing all the imperfections, I thought I looked hot (and tiny) -Shot up a hill today that would have been a challenge 6 months ago -My resting heart rate is the same as for a lifetime athlete

Hi everyone, hope y'all had a great labor day weekend. i stayed on plan after my whopping 38 point first day! ha! in fact my fiancee' laughs when i tell him how many points we are eating. i think he's glad we arent eating junk. he isnt fat but he gets a hangover after snacking on junk over the weekend. mgirl: glad you joined. i have alot less points each day but i'm managing ok (except the 1st day). the program has changed so it's fun re-learning it sberrys and scorpio: congrats on being down a pound each. jollygreen: now that's an NSV missdiva: great job! your enthusiasm is infectious. i think you are right about the band compliment the WW food plan. in past the amounts they gave me were too small as i was starving afterwards. now with the band...the amounts are just right. re: chat time...out of the 3 days you gave as suggestions in can do thursday at 5:00 California time. china: good girl re: passing on PB Cookies. that is a good point you make about not gaining the weight overnight...why would we think we should lose it that way too. crzytchr: let me know what kind of elliptical you decide upon. i'm interested in one as well. deniseh: i recently took fill out of my band and it is making all the difference in the world for me. i was eating so much junk because i couldnt get good food down without hurting. great news on your weigh in! hi rayne have a great night everyone josie

    Name Your NSV

Well I have a few recent NSV's to share with y'all. I went on vacation with my family and I fit on the airplane seat no problems (even with both arm rests down!!! I didn't have to ask for a seat belt extender. The seat belt fit just fine, I even had to tighten it up. I could even cross my legs!!! I also used the bathroom with no problem whatsoever!!! Most importantly I got home and downloaded my photos and didn't cringe at myself. I thought to myself wow you are looking good. you got a ways to go but you are getting there.

    Lets Celebrate !!!!!

I had one a few weeks ago, but I've just had this thing about posting for a while, and well I realized that I NEED YOU GUYS!!!!!! So I'm back..... So here are 2 of my NSV's 1- I am able to cross my legs and sit lady-like again. without even realizing I did it. I was on the train going to work, and just sat like normal and then I looked down and saw my legs were crossed, over the knee........ I haven't been able to do that in 2 1/2 years!!!!! also, bringing my knees to my chest when sitting on the bed or the floor, things I'm subconciously doing.... it's a great feeling. #2 is, today, I am wearing a pair of pants I bought 2 years ago, and have never worn before, infact, I had to take the tags off of them. I was sorting through a bag of clothes I'm donating to charity, just to make sure that things (like laundry) weren't tossed in there and I found the pants, I folded them up and put them in my room. this morning, just for kicks, I put them on, they slid up.... I did have to take a deep breath to button them, but they're actually really comfortable. Sorry I flaked on you all for a while, don't worry, I'm back, back on track and back in this whole heartedly.

I LOVE READING EVERYONE'S NSVs!!! They are so very inspiring! I had several NSVs this past Friday. I was able to wear an XL women's t-shirt comfortably. I used to wear an XXXL t-shirt. My favorite pair of Old Navy jeans (size 26) are now falling off of me. And last, but not least, I was walking out of my classroom when a colleague was coming around the corner w/ her class. She stopped dead in her tracks and said to me, "WOW! YOU LOOK HOT!" It has been sooooo long since anyone (excluding my hubby) has told me how good I look. I AM ABSOLUTELY LOVING MY BAND AND MY NEW LIFESTYLE!! PS~ My 3 month bandiversary is this Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Doodle, explain NSV. I'm thinking no small victory.
  22. Hi all. I am now down roughly 60 pounds and seven weeks out from when I started my liquid pre-diet. Am also having some awesome NSV moments. Some are: No longer wearing 3x shirts. They are packed and ready to be taken to Goodwill. My size 48 (expandable) pants? Gone too. Can button my pants at my belly button. No more "slant pants." I wore a much smaller belt...and it was a new one! Went three days this past week without needing a mid day nap. Three days now without any slimes or throwing up. Joined a local health club to work out. Snoring is all but gone. No more BP meds at all (125/65 is normal now). And BMs much more normal and less stressful. Bought myself an I-touch. That was my 50 pound loss gift to myself. Any suggestions for the 100 plateau? That's a short list, but ones that come to mind. Please, share yours! Let's look at the fact that this journey is not just about the weight loss, but about all the wonderful things that continue to happen along the ride!

Good Morning Girls!!! I am sooo tired this a.m.!!! We got in really late, 12:30 this morning, couldn't go to sleep so we just sat around to unwind!! But we had a WONDERFUL time!!! And it didn't hurt my feelings that we WON!!!! 48 to 10!!! We played Missouri and we made a touchdown in the first 6 seconds!!! When we got up yesterday, it was raining but by the afternoon, the sun came out and the kids were able to play. It was sooo much fun. Oh I forgot to tell you guys, I had a NSV yesterday!!! Our seats were in the nose bleed section, last yr and this yr, last yr, I couldn't walk all the way up without stopping, couldn't breath and this yr, I made it all the way up without stopping!!! ONLY you guys can understand my small victory!!! Mereideth~~~ It was me that was talking about The Shack. I'll have to say, it is the best book I've read in a long time! I liked it because it made me think outside the box and also it will mean different things to different ppl. My 16yr old DGD is reading it right now, and she and I talk about how it can mean one thing to her and something else to me. But anyway, it is a good book. I also was able to watch a interview with the author on t.v. and that made it even better! Laura~~~ sorry to hear about your sister!! Maybe she is depressed because she is living with your parents. I know I would be, I have friend that lost almost 100 pds, on her own, and she had to move back in with her parents, and gained it all back plus some!! Oh and that's not good that they compare you two!! That just makes it worse!! I'm like you, maybe she can move out and get her life back on track!! If~~~ dittos on the DGC!!! I had a t-shirt one time that said "if I had known Grandkids were so much fun, I would have had them first!! Good for you on the slide!!! Don't you just love these little victories!!!! Well, I need to go get ready for church. I'm taking Eli to his Moms church this a.m. and it's so big they have 2 services!! I get really nervous around a lot of ppl that I don't know but it'll be o.k.! I'm just going in there and find me a seat and set down, just hope I don't take someones spot that they've sat in for 50 yrs.!!!! You know how ppl can get!! lol TTYL Sharon

For anyone who posted losses this week, great job!!!!! :-D I will ask the site Admin if Alex might consider making a Weight Watchers room, or how we might be able to create one when we are on there. I'm in CA, and 5PM my time is great if it's on a Tues. Weds. or Thurs. Let me know! Welcome!! I'm so glad you have decided to join WW. The band doesn't stop you from making poor food choices. WW is the map. The band is the compass. Workouts are the energies it takes to get to our treasure! Some of us just need a little bit more than others. Nothing wrong with that at all, and this in no way makes you a failure. It makes you more of a winner than ever because you are willing to do whatever it takes to get to your goal. Best wishes!! LOL! I haven't been tracking as well as I should either. Not good!!! I am still down, thank goodness. However tomorrow I'm doing 24 points no exceptions. Especially since I'm probably going to have BBQ on Monday. LOL!! Nuff said girl! That is such a great NSV!! (((hugs))) rayne, I have only one time gone into my activity points. I think it was only 1-2 at that. I usually gather up between 40-70 activity points per week too, so I seriously don't think I'm ever in danger. They are there for that reason, however I really do try to keep those in the bank. Good luck!!

    Non-Scale Victories Thread

Wow, I've just reread this thread and especially my post, how far we have all come. In one of my earlier post I was excited that I had walked 1.5 miles when earlier I couldn't walk from the parking lot to school building I worked in..... Well I have walked 5 miles at one time for a while this summer but now that school has started I walk 2.5 miles to 3.0 miles every morning staying within my target heart rate which means as I get stronger I have to get faster. I would never have dreamed I could do this. My newest NSV is this: Just went to my new General Practicioner of 3 months...When she came in the nurse was still taking my blood pressure she said it out loud and the doctor started recording it...she flipped back a page, jumped up hands over head and shouted, "Give me a high five!" I had to get up and give her a High Five! She smiled and told me I went from high blood pressure of 148/90 to a good blood pressure of 124/76 and my weight loss was over 100 lbs....She then asked how I was feeling about that? She really wanted to know ...I thought for a minute and answered, It has given me my life back! I've learned that I have gained much more living than what I have given up! So I am going to continue gaining life back with every lb. lost. This is where losers....Gain! Highest weight 386 1st doctors visit 376 Surgery Day 343 Today's 279.5 lbs. Deb
