So I came across a recipe and it's really good. I thought it wouldn't be but it was. 2 bananas mashed mixed with rolled oats. I added walnuts in it also. Baked for 10 minutes. Just in case you wanted something different. Sent from my Moto E (4) using BariatricPal mobile app

So I'm about to celebrate my 5 year post VSG anniversary. What a wild ride it has been! Lost about 90 lbs initially, had some serious life issues, regained about 40. Went full 'clean' keto and lost all my regain. Still have about 25# to go until ultimate goal, then plastics. Part of my journey included getting my master's degree, and now I'm also about to complete post-graduate studies in about 8 weeks. As I have already begun my new job-and hopefully final career path- I've decided to finally PURGE my life. My house is FULL to the brim. My hubs and I married 19 years and lots of memories. 1 teen and 1 adolescent add to the chaos. I'm ready to Kon-Mari the whole place!!! Now, the tough question....WHAT do I do with it all? I have stuff that is really good quality, tags still on, etc. I don't want to do a garage/rummage because I seriously just don't have the time. Some will go to the Salvation Army, but I'm trying to find a really GOOD cause to donate the better stuff to, and of course trying to brain storm HOW to sell a lot of antiques and vintage items. I'm still in the last leg of school, work full time and really want to streamline it as much as possible. Any ideas?

How is MGB different to RNY help
JamesL73 replied to New&Improved's topic in Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum
As of March 2019 MGB is still not endorsed by the ASMBS ( American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery), nor been FDA approved, so I doubt anyone will find any Insurance to cover it. There aren't even many Doctors in the US who offer it, most likely for the same reason. If you could find a US Dr that offers it, it would undoubtedly be a cash pay basis. It is, however, very popular in Mexico and other Countries, but again, you would be paying cash or using a credit card as I am, through places like Bariatricpal MX or BeLiteWeight and a few others who have low cost deals with reputable hospitals and Surgeons in Mexico. -

April 2019 Surgeries!
zoomom77@gmail.com replied to CajunSam's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had RNY on Monday, 4/29/19. I gained 14 lbs in the first 3 days after surgery. The nurses were always hanging new bags of liquids. The Dr said I must have been very dehydrated upon admittance. No one told me that I could GAIN weight after surgery. I was shocked and disappointed when I got on the scale for the first post-surgery weigh-in!!! I’ve lost all 14 lbs in the first 12 days but I still feel as though I’m on an up-hill battle. My mind can’t wrap around the idea that I WILL lose weight because I’ve not been able to lose weight on my own. I’m past ready to continue this journey! -
Fueling for a half marathon post bariatric surgery
AngieBear replied to skyguy's topic in Fitness & Exercise
What a great topic! I’m just over 2 weeks post op and have been cleared to start trail running again. My base was 3.5 miles prior to surgery. I’m expecting it to take a solid month before I’m up to that again, then I can start adding miles, with the hope of landing at having 2 3.5 mile runs a week, and one 10 miler. That’s where I was 4 years ago, and even though I was heavy I felt fantastic and could go on any hike I picked out. I’ll be chatting with my dietician in 2 weeks to figure out a plan to get me through some long hikes, backpacking trips, and adding on running mileage this summer. It’s going to look pretty different from what I’m used to, I’m sure. -
On the petite side..(closer to only 100lbs to lose after surgery)
Sophie7713 replied to Tracydawn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi Tracydawn, I am also 5 ft. I had GS surgery December 2018. Almost 4 1/2 months out now - I have lost 72 pounds. I am very strict (nothing processed) three small meals a day with no snacking. I walk every day. Very active with my business. Eat out regularly for business lunches usually ordering a small salad or shrimp cocktail (can only eat three shrimp) etc. And, of course, lots of water and I enjoy hot decaf tea with 1% milk later in the evenings. I don't experience stalls and very happy about my pace. I suspect there are others who loose slower or faster... So, I don't compare. Every body is different. The key for me has been to eat a variety of healthy, high quality nutrition fresh as possible and remain well-hydrated. The water is imperative to flushing out fat deposits, and I believe keeping my body on a steady downward course. You seem to be doing really well according to your stats. It will be an exciting ride! Continued success with each passing day toward your goal of 130! My goal too. Maybe by December 2019? :] -

How much weight did you lose before people noticed?
ashsleeved21 replied to Summer56's topic in The Gals' Room
Hi! I started at about 240, and when I got to about 200/190 is when people started making comments (all good things). I'm 130 now (I'll be a year post VSG in 2 weeks) and most people I haven't seen in the last year or so don't recognize me. I still have 10 pounds to go but feeling and looking better than I ever have! -
Have jumped through all the insurance hoops, My surgery date is 6-12-2019 pending insurance approval, don't see any issues with approval since this is a revision due to complications of the lap band. Looking forward to finally feeling better and losing weight. My lap band has a slip and rather than fix it, my surgeon recommended a revision to the sleeve. Lost 50 lbs with the lap band, but slowly gained back most of my weight that I lost, although I did keep the 50lbs off for over 10 years. Looking forward to finally dropping this weight and keeping it off. Any pointers or advise would be greatly appreciated.

I need to get better about posting daily. Playing catch up Day 7-Work up a sweat- I did go for a 30-minute run that day Day 8-Get crafting-I've been working on making some birthday cards this week Day 9-Meditate-I did a 15 minute guided meditation Day 10-Yoga-I didn't do on Friday because that is my rest day, but I am doing a yoga class tomorrow along with weight day. Day 11-Complete a Puzzle-Not a physical puzzle but working on some problem solving for some work projects so that counts as a puzzle right?

10) yoga. I have a ton of the Namaste series recorded on my DVR . I’ll have to give it a shot this afternoon 11) Finish a puzzle. I do a lot of word puzzle apps on my phone. Ones like Wordscapes and SpellTower . Those will have to do for me.

You will be fine! My ekg and my urinalysis came back abnormal. I too thought that is was going to be a set back for my surgery. My surgeon just asked me to retake both. The 2nd tech told me to relax and she took it twice. And it came back fine on the 2nd attempt. My surgery was on it's scheduled day, July 25, 2018. I'm 10 months out and 95 pounds down. Don't stress!! You will be fine! Good luck on your journey!! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

VSG to RNY Revision. Anyone?
jb1809 replied to d258's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had VSG surgery on 3/18/19 had one week of smooth sailing and then all hell broke loose had every complication you can think of. I was subsequently converted to a bypass of 4/11/2019 and I am grateful that I have had no issues at all other then I still am having issues meeting my protein goals. The good news is i have lost 53 pounds and I am probably only another 30 from goal weight. -
VSG to RNY Revision. Anyone?
taylormomto6 replied to d258's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had sleeve 10/2013, lost 60lbs, gained it back, had some reflux but not terrible. Was revised to rny 2/12/19, SW 230, CW 190, no complications, no food intolerances that I know of (haven’t had any sugar, pasta, bread or rice). So far so good. -
June 2019 Surgery Siblings!
starladustangel replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My weight was down to 289 this morning but I definitely need to up my water as my mouth and throat were dry when I got up I went to the store and stocked up on sugar free popsicles and jello. I found budget saver brand popsicles are a really good price compared to the name brand and you can split them in half https://www.budgetsaver.com/our-products/product/sugar-free-twin-pops/10 Are other people buying premade jello or the boxes? I bought a bunch of small round containers about the size of an individual jello cup and the boxes of sugar free jello mix -

VSG to RNY Revision. Anyone?
allies journey replied to d258's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hey , I had severe reflux before my sleeve in October 2016.After surgery only 6 weeks of relief from the reflux and then it was way worse than before to the point of taking 10 pills a day instead of 2. I am currently waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RNY revision surgery and was just diagnosed with barrett's esophagus due to the reflux getting soooooo much worse. I can't wait to get the surgery done and praying for approval. Congratulations on your journey and your surgery appointment. Keep updating us on your progress. Oh i did lose 87 lbs the first year but gained 22 back. Still fighting to get the extra back off. Allie in SC -
And I wonder this far into 2019 if anyone is still following their resolutions? I do well for a while, really plan to keep up keeping up, but I guess I'm more human than I like to admit. Things seem to fall by the wayside!
