Can You Feel The Band?
Padanelle replied to thinoneday's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About a week ago I experienced a NSV: being able to feel my port! Prior to that, I hadn't a clue where it was. I have read that people can feel the liquid moving theough the tube when they have a fill, but I don't feel a thing! -
Slim~ close call, hang tight and sending positive thoughts your way. Tell DS WTG! Love those report cards! Lu~ oh, the computer cooties got ya! Damn! Brandy~ pack me up some of that energy for exercise when you figure that out! I could use it this week! You need to head over the mountain and kick my butt in gear! Ebony~ Good luck on the job front. Keep looking something will come your way! WTG on the NSV - time for new pants! Glou~ that was funny! Pooly~ Hope you feel better. I hate swimmers ear. I used to get it all the time as a kid! I lived in the pool! Get that paperwork in the mail! Beth~ sorry DH is home and underfoot! Hopefully he will be "better" and back at work on Monday! Heart~ What trail did you take - dang girl sounds treacherous! DD is a trooper! Hope you are enjoying your stay in CO - I love living here! Kat~ I have wipes on my desk, next to the computer lab and in the student stores. I also have hand sanitizer in the same places. Trying to keep the kids healthy and sanitary - germ, germs, germs everywhere! PJTP: I am feeling better today. Went to the dr and was down 2lbs. Whew! I was worried. I may now weigh 1x per week. I think I can do it! I am still having some food issues and need to make sure I am eating enough. Sometimes I just don't feel like eating - but I know that I have to ugh! I also need to get my butt moving, I have not been on a run since Sunday. I am going to run tomorrow after school. Right now I really hate my insurance company. We went to a state run program last year (school dist decision) and have had nothing but trouble. So they paid for two of my office visits in Nov and Dec (last year) and they just decided that they wanted the money back from the dr office and it is not covered. HELLO! Needless to say I will be on the phone with the insurance company tomorrow morning. Can you just decide a year later that you want the money back?? What??? Oh well, pretty frustrated and DH is super stressed now. Not fun. Hope you all have a nice evening and a great day tomorrow!

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry for those of you dealing with job issues. Too stressful :w00t:. WTG DS of Slim :tt1:! Tap, hope the eyes are getting better. Lulu, did you not wash your computer-infected hands before rubbing your eyes?? Bad move - Tap Cooties are tough . Beth, I hope your hubby gets himself in line soon. I had back surgery and went to dog-sit 4 days later - a St. Bernard no less. Dude, grow up. Brandy, at least you have some energy some days :cheers2:. You just gotta match up those days with the busy days. Heartfire, glad you had a good trip, though it sounds tiring. Torky, hope you're feeling better. Saw your post last night on FB and was worried about you. Ebony, WTG on another NSV ! SNT, hey there :cornut:! Who did I miss?? Sorry :hat:. I also haven't been feeling well. Went to doc today. I have swimmer's ear , wicked bad allergies , and while not vertigo, something similar. I can't walk straight. Someone keeps moving my doorways to the right. I walk into the doorjams. Ouch. Nausea comes and goes. Fun. Got some drugs and we'll see how it goes. Still sitting on my paperwork for WLS. Gonna mail it tomorrow!! I'm eager to get going, really . I just know I'm in for a long wait with Medicaid. Urghh. They move soooooo slowly . I hope you all get feeling better, get hubbies up and moving, celebrate the good stuff like puppies, NSVs, and good report cards. Be good to yourselves. BTW, loved the Patrick Swayze story!! Glad there was a shower at some point there :w00t:. Glou, you made me :smile2: too! Take care, all and TTFN. -

OWWWW! and EWWWW!!! :tt1::scared2: Oh Slim, I'm sorry for your situation! Such a bad spot to be in. I too am the breadwinner for my family, and like you, today they just announced layoffs. I'm safe...but for how long??? No one told me that life was going to be this stressful when I was a youngster!!! But YAY for DS's report! YOu must be very proud. I hope your union rep can take action and not just make noise! Good luck on your walk/run/wog! And what a great NSV!!:w00t:

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
PrtyAntOvrYt replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Silly Marcy! Yup! Mini and Me are still here! I'm still plugging along! I am on my last 100lbs! I know that sounds bad, but I had a lot to lose! I am scheduled for a TT and Arm Lift on Dec 2nd in Monterrey Mexico with Dr. Sauceda! He's an artist! I have seen and talked to so many of his former patients and everyone looks wonderful! For my tummy tuck (and I've lost 163lbs so I have a lot of excess skin) and my arm lift he is charging $8250.00 He'll have to go all around my body. I am a mess! He will also pay for my airfare and my hotel for 15 nights at the Hampton Inn. I'll stay in his surgicenter for 3 to 4 nights. That sounds absolutely horrible! I am so sorry to hear about your troubles! I hope an unfill can help! If I can help you out when you get here, let me know. I'll check my schedule. Congrats on the no meds! Wow! Isn't that a great NSV? -
Dange, that is a great NSV! Finding bras that fit larger size woman who are well endowed can be difficult and expensive.
-
Here are my latest NSV's - I now sleep through the night instead of getting up multiple times to use the restroom. I can wear a size 18 down from a 20 or 22.

Congratulations Catherine! You are doing great. Keep up the good work. I wanted to share one of my NSV's. For years I have gone with my sisters (who are a size 3/4 and a size 8/10) to Victoria's Secret and watched them shop while I looked at lip gloss and shimmer body powder. I finally got down to a size that I could order a bra and panties. And the bra was actually to big and I had to return it. The panties fit perfectly! WOOHOO! I returned the bra and using my new pretty pink angel credit card (LOL) I ordered several more pair of panties and 3 new bras! Oh yeah... and two tubes of lip gloss... hehehhehe -

My 11 month Bandiversary is coming up on the 23rd, and I just wanted to share how great of a ride this has been so far! Some of the many good things: This past weekend, for the first time ever, I participated in a 5K race (Race for The Cure) and ran it, instead of walked! This is HUGE for me, since at this time last year, I was physically unable to run due to a co-morbidity called "compartmental syndrome." I recently noticed that my legs no longer touch when I walk! I fit in regular sized clothing and am finally able to shop in normal stores again! As a result, shopping has become fun again, and I actually enjoy shopping with my friends (since now I don't have to pretend to look at accessories while they try on all of the cute clothes that were too small for me)! I actually LIKE how my body is looking these days. That's surprising & interesting to me because when I was gaining, I felt huge at this weight. I am not uncomfortable on airplanes any more (well, not more than the average person anyway) and no longer am terrified of getting stuck in a middle seat! Some funny observations: Sometimes I look at a pair of pants and think "There is NO WAY these are going to fit!" and they do! It's hard for me to really understand what I look like right now. I had some anxiety about getting rid of my "fat" clothes until I realized that -- unlike after any "diet" I've ever done in the past -- I'm not going to need them again. The other day, a woman I know at work (who I don't work with or see all that often) INTRODUCED HERSELF TO ME IN THE ELEVATOR because she didn't recognize me! How crazy is that?! Just wanted to share these things! We all have a lot to look forward to! Catherine -
Some NSV (and a scale victory too!)
Tiffykins replied to Malaika's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Your trips sounds absolutely amazing. Awesome NSV's and scale victories. I hope to see some pictures hint hint nudge nudge. -
So, Bearded and I just got back from a 7 day Carribbean Cruise - Left from San Juan, then on to St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antiqua and St. Kitts, then back to San Juan. Because we'd both lost weight, we were able to do things that pre-WLS we wouldn't have been able to do -- in Dominica we went river tubing (WHAT A BLAST!!!); in St. Lucia - we went horseback riding, and in Antiqua we rode Segways (you know, mall cop?) ... and we weren't even close to the maximum weight -- what a great feeling it was not to have to worry about stepping on a scale and being told we were too heavy for the horses. (They didn't actually weigh us, but we were told they could if they wanted.) We did a lot of walking and both held up with no problems -- I have to admit the walk back up from the Emerald Falls in Dominica was a bit rough on me, but more for the fact that I'm not used to 87% humidity -- my legs and knees held up fine though! It was an awesome trip and we can't wait to do it again - something to be said about white sand and blue Water so clear you can see your toes even when you're in water up to your neck! And ... a scale victory -- 7 days on a cruise ship - and I lost 1 lb. and Bearded lost 2! And we ate what we wanted - appetizers, entree and dessert --- the best night was the lobster tail and shrimp - Had to share!! :party4::party4::party4:

Fill number 6 seems to have hit the spot! I went shopping this weekend and bought jeans in size 20! down from 24! then stepped on the scale this am and was down several pounds since last wednesdays fill... so maybe, fingers crossed this will stick for a while. other NSV's: Had to move the seat up in my car today. Had to buy new shoes, the old ones were too fat for my new thinner feet.
-
YES! I totally agree! And congrats on your other NSVs, also.

I really enjoy reading these NSV's especially since lately I've been glued to the scale. I never stop to think about my non-scale victories #1- I can walk on the treadmill for an hour with my lowest speed being 3.5 and on an incline (haven't done that in a while) #2- Taking the stairs instead of the elevator is fun for me. I enjoyed walking past the elevators where there was a crowd waiting-- and going to the staircase. #3- Having to constantly pull up my pants because they are falling off. Although it's not a good look...it's a great feeling. And Last...which is the most rewarding NSV #4- Being so very happy! Waking up smiling...going to bed smiling. Smiling at people I don't even know...going out with friends w/o crying about what I'm going to wear. Being out of the slump where all I thought about was OMG where do I even start losing the weight. Just loving myself....I thank God everyday
