    Pjtp...again!

Hi Ebony!! Another great NSV for you - that's wonderful! I've heard about Spanx, but haven't invested in any - yet. But given the serious belly overhang I have, I'm thinking maybe it is time to invest. Plastic surgery is something I have thought of, but the cost is just too much. But I'm thinking it would certainly help me drop a few more pounds - honestly, the reason I haven't reached the upper limit of my doctors goal just HAS to be the excess skin!! Besides, several docs have mentioned waiting for 6 months to a year after your weight loss before having any PS, so that gives me time. (Of course, just as many do not make any such recommendations...). I did come to work - gets me out of the house and with my mother visiting it is important for both of us to have 'time outs'... And speaking of work......gotta get some stuff off my desk!

    Pjtp...again!

PJTP...Good morning PJTP'ers! :sneaky: Tap - take good care of yourself. Maybe a day off is in order...I had a brief bout with a flu-like illness a couple of weeks ago. Stayed home one day, took my meds, and have been fine since. Watched 60 Minutes last night with DH and got such a scare - they talked about the H1N1 virus and how tough it can be on some people. They profiled a young man - high school athlete, in great shape, who came down with it and had to be put on a respirator at one point. Don't let your resistance and your strength get too low, Taps - take a day now and regain your strength! Heartfire - that goes for you too! Maybe its just a temporary case of the 'blues' but in any case, pamper yourself a bit and I hope you feel better very soon! Bristlecone - Hi! I love your dog's name (Truffles) and a hike in the mountains sounds beautiful this time of year. Welcome to PJTP - come back often! NSV - currently wearing a size 14W dress I bought from Spiegel - it's part of their "Shape FX" line and helps smooth me out...it's the smallest size I've worn in quite a while. :scared2: A friend referred to me as "melting" - funny visual for me, but partially the truth! I am enjoying getting smaller - and even dealing with the different 'figure problems' is not so bad. Me and spanx are getting to be good friends... I had thought this year would be the time for me to look into plastic surgery, but the money just isn't there...especially with DD going out-of-state to school next fall, I've got to save everything I can. I'm going to keep up my workouts, eat right, take my vitamins and see what happens. My DH was a little worried about me - thinking that having the surgery so soon after my weight loss might have proven to be too much for me. I'm not so sure - I guess I'm feeling like I want it all NOW, but waiting is what I have to do, so I'm going to do it with a smile! :w00t: Everyone have a wonderful day - it's chilly here, but the sun is shining brightly and I feel great!

    Starting to get Frustrated

Hi there, contrary to what you feel you are doing great !! Just think about it prior to surgery would you have been down 30 something pounds ?? It's really easy to get caught up on the numbers, I did it and it drove me crazy that the scale didnt move an inch in 2 weeks besides my consistent excercise and calorie counting, but you also need to learn how to read your NSV ( non-scale victories) thsoe sometimes can mean so much more than just the numbers. Do your jeans feel better ? do you knees or ankles hurt as much ?? Does your body look just generally better ala naturale in the mirror ?? these are all things that you should take into consideration as part of the whole weight loss package. the numbers can be very deciving, even a glass of water can throw it off or not enough water can also throw them off !! So learn to listen to your body and identify all your other wonderful success along the way !!!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Hi Scrappy, The 130 is what doctors say would put me at 22 BMI. That to me is a little scary. Thank you for the well wishes. Hi Christine. I would also be thrilled to have only gained 16 lbs being completly unfilled. Congrats go out to you!!! Sometimes it is the NSV that are more important than what the scale says.

    Sharing Food Log

Hi everyone... haven't posted, everything is ok. I have just been very busy and a little bummed. Nothing band related, just life in general! I have been eating my normal stuff, Protein shake for breakfast, turkey chili for lunch etc... so I won't bore you with the days I missed Today- B: strawberry banana carbmaster yogurt and a third of a banana L: about 2/3 cup of turkey chili with cheese D: half a meatball with parmesan crisp S: 4 toasted coconut cashews water: bad bad bad today! I did have a bit of a NSV today. We had ice cream sundaes in the break room today for a safety celebration. I decided I could have a tiny bit after my lunch today. By the time lunch came around, I wasn't really in the mood for it. In the past, I would have had some 'just because I could' and it wouldn't matter if I didn't really want it. So I thought that was pretty cool progress. :scared2:

    Lets Celebrate !!!!!

I've had a few great nsv lately. 1 - I went to my daughter's open house and I could sit comfortably in the desk. Previous years this has been a stresser for me because I was just too big to sit at them. 2 - Buying size 18 jeans and loving the way they are making me feel - only bought a few because I don't plan on staying there long. (Started at a size 28). 3 - Being okay with sitting at a booth at a restaurant. Before it was always a table because my tummy would be pressed against the table. There are so many more but that's a few that help remind me of the life change I've made.

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Most awesome NSV to date. I bought some shorts the other day while at Torrid (after the depressing attempts at finding a Halloween costume elsewhere). The shorts were on sale so I bought a pair (size 20) figuring I'll be back on track and they'll fit in December when we go to Hawaii. Well, I thought I'd try them on to see how far I've got to go, and they fit now. The last pair of shorts I purchased were a 26 back in February. Now I can actually wear a 20. I think I have to go back to Torrid and get a few more pairs for December!

    Lets Celebrate !!!!!

Ok, since I'm having a plateau week, I need to remind myself of some NSVs to keep me going! Come join me -- tell me yours! :sneaky: Here's one of mine -- I can wear heels again!! And I love it! Now, granted, I'm not wearing 4" spikes like I used to in my early 20s, but I'm no longer living in my Crocs, either. :frown: Never thought I'd ever be able to do that again. Hooray!

    Twenties NSVs

Awesome NSV's everyone! I had a great one today. My roommate was telling me about her calculus professor and when describing him she said "He looks like a fat ugly version of you actually." I've never had anyone tell me someone looked like a fat version of me. Wow!

    Twenties NSVs

One of my most memorable NSV is... I went on my first vacation since being banded to Jamaica in June 2009. First I actually fit in just my seat and no elses on the airplane, I could buckle my seat belt (I was so happy!!!), and my hips weren't stuck underneath the arm rests. Flying in comfort...what a feeling!

I am right there with you on the matching bra and panties. I bought a few a couple weeks ago - love them. Makes me feel better even though only my husband and I know about them. My big NSV came yesterday, I went to the "girls only" gym I go to nearly everyday (kind of like a curves but way more options). It was time for my monthly weigh in and measurements. The inches are just falling off. I started going to this gym on July 10th. Since then, I have lost a total of 36.5 inches!!! :001_tongue: Sometimes, the scale doesn't cooperate. On those days, I take my tape measure and place it around parts of my body and widen the tape to the "before" measurement and see the difference. It gives me a real visual on my weight loss, one that I often don't see.

Vegas, I also just bought matching bra/panties. My reunion was last night, and I wanted to buy new under garments. They make you feel so pretty, even though nobody else can see them. Well, I found some darn cute matching panties and bras at Fashion Bug for the 1/2 the price at LB's. They are sooo much fun and I am starting to feel attractive again. Oh, and one set is fushia, one is purple, and other teal. I keep them on lingerie hangers because it makes me feel so good to be able to wear these things. LB's 14/16 were too big for me..unbelievable...I never thought that would happen so quickly. Another NSV..went shopping today at Walmart..need some kitty food and just cruised through the Women's dept looking for bargains..I got dirty looks from the women working there..everything was too big for me. Isn't this world funny..when I was a size 22/24 I got dirty looks for being so big, now I get dirty looks for not being that big. I guess we will just have to get used to it. We are going to get so skinny that we are not going to be able to stand it! LOL Oh..and started the recycling pile too. Now the clothes that are too big are cute and actually purchased within the last 3 mos. The clothes I ditched were gross..the elastic was so stretched out on the waistband I had to hold them together with a safety pin..they were polyester, so I couldn't hold a funeral for them, because they wouldn't burn, just would smoke like rubber tires..had to toss them in the dumpster..OH WELL!! LOL

Congrats on the NSV - that's wonderful! And of course all the best wishes/positive vibes I can send are on your way. Ariana is lucky to have you to help her make decisions, hear the good and the bad and guide her through the decision making process, Yes, pics of Tug please. WOW - a close encounter of the bear kind - God was indeed looking out for you.:scared2: Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. DH is home this weekend, right? Happy Saturday everyone!!

    Pjtp...again!

I thought he looked too lean and tall to be a purebred. Are the 'seers really that different body-type wise? I haven't seen too many pics of them but they always "looked" like a regular newf, just different colors. Have you been able to get Tug asleep long enough to measure him? Maybe YOU have the biggest doggie!!! Post pics of him, 'kay. Please!!!!! Compromise and communication are biggies in our house too. I just offer ALL of my best wishes to you in this. Still nothing? Dang! I was hoping you'd have good news by now! I'll keep praying for you and that new job! Hi!!! Glad you're having a good weekend. Congrats on the NSV!!! I can tell you are having SO much fun with all the clothes!!! Best wishes to your DD in whatever she decides. I know that you'll do all you can to help her and guide her. Still praying re: the job! Kat, hope you had a great weekend with the kiddos!!! ~~~~~ Okay, so was posting on another thread tonight when I heard a huge bang outside. The dog is throwing a bloody fit and heading to the kitchen side of the house. I turn on the front porch light and head for the kitchen door. It's got a window in it. This is important here. There is an outside light at that door that's on a sensor. Well, it's not on but the dog, who HATES going in the kitchen, is practically at the door! So I'm standing there, open up the shade and am flipping the damn light switch off and on to get the dumb thing to come ON!!! It finally does and Oh CRAP!!!! BEAR!!!!! Not FOUR FEET AWAY!!!!! It looks at me and dummy me is clapping my hands and telling it to go away. Ummm, yea, like it's going to LISTEN to me!!! So I turn to go get the camera b/c it's flippin' RIGHT THERE!!! And when I get back, it's gone. I am thanking GOD that I didn't do what I normally do and throw the door open to go see what was up. The light never came on b/c he came in on all fours so was too "short" to trip the light on. What I normally do is throw open the door and walk out to the garbage can (that sits right by the door) waving my hand up in the air to trip the sensor. I would have WALKED RIGHT IN TO HIM had I done that tonight!!!! GOD stopped me from opening that door. Since the light didn't come on, I would have no reason the think something was RIGHT THERE!!!! He'd knocked the can over and managed to get the lid off. I know better. I cleaned out the fridge today and locked the lid on it to keep the raccoons out but should have put it in the shed. Just didn't think about the bears. And the campgrounds are closed for the season so they're moving in to the neighborhoods to go after the garbage cans. So I know better. Lived here for 30 years! I should!!! Anyway, it stuck around for awhile, probably eating whatever it took out of the can b/c the dog was still freaking out for awhile. She's calmed down right now so he's probably moved on for tonight. He didn't make a huge mess but it'll be huge by morning. The 'coons will get in to it next and spread it all over kingdom-come!! But I'm not going out there TONIGHT to clean it up. It can frickin' stay there for now!!! On another note, I'm still sick. I hate being sick!!!! Oh man! It's 12:30, I'm going to bed! 'Night!!

    Pjtp...again!

PJTP...Hi Everyone! *waving cheerfully* Having a terrific day! Went out with DH last night to a neighborhood bar / watering hole. Last time we went, there was a great DJ - lots of dancing and fun. This time, there was a local band - a little too "headbanger" for me, but okay...not much "dancing" music. ****** NSV Alert ****** Best part? Wore a purple knit mini-dress that I bought weeks ago at a size LARGE and had never worn. I've lost enough and reshaped my body enough that with the right shaper (I have a tummy fold with the loss of volume LOL) it looked really cute. Pair that with a pair of high heels (which I love) and I was ready to go! Funny enough, I was one of the few women in a dress! Everyone else had on jeans and nice tops...oh well - DH appreciated the dress VERY much...made for a nice night. Got in at 1 am, so no run this morning, but I did take DDog for an early walk, did some errands, and took him for another long walk just now with DD. My DD is in the preliminary process of getting a band - she's now on LBT as arianad09 - Y'all be nice to her! :tt1: She's already posting in the Teen forum, and has made some online buddies. We're going to an info session this upcoming week, and I'll be trying to get her in to see my doctor as soon as it can be arranged. We're trying to work around her school schedule, and getting TO the appointments is a hassle because of the distance from my home to my doc's office, but we'll make it work. I think she's ready to do this...and even if she's not, I'll be there to help her with information-gathering, etc and with making the right decision. Of course, it's not entirely up to me, and I know it's not, but I can help her whereever possible. Hope everyone is having a great weekend - no news yet on the job front, but I'm hopeful that I'll hear something next week. My DH told me that another employee's son has applied for the lower-level position, so there are two of us with the "inside track" looking for the jobs. There are two openings - a higher-level one, which I think I'm more qualified for, and a lower-level one, which I would certainly take if asked, but might be better suited for the young man mentioned earlier. Keep praying / wishing / sending good thoughts my way - I can use all the positive help I can get! :tt2:

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)

I'm right there with ya, sister! I got off track this summer. It got too hot to walk the neighborhood. I have a perfectly good treadmill but hate using it, so did I walk anyway? NO! Now I'm having a hard time getting back in to it now that the weather has finally cooled off. WhooHoo!!!! Jenn, I don't know how I missed your pics! They're GREAT! I hate bloat!! What was your surgery, if you don't mind my asking? Sounds like female issues. I go see my GYN next month and we need to make some solid, serious decisions re: my cycles. Thanks. Best wishes today! Hope you get some good answers. Hopefully you get to go this weekend! Sounds like fun! Hopefully it doesn't hurt DS but I think he made the right decision to stay home. Thanks, just feels wrong when she's sick, to be worried about how it might affect you. Yea, I know! LOL! I'm loving this weather but I'm so cold! LOL! Looks like there might be a small possibility of rain next week, coming down out of Alaska! Brrrr! :wink2: What kind of training are you thinking of? Will it bring you to my area?! How fun! I love it when the stores are empty! I hate crowds. What great NSVs!!! So nice to be able to shop in regular sizes now! I forget tho and still start to head to the Plus size section. I'm not shopping for much tho! I have clothes and am trying to not buy much since I'm still going down. There are some things I need periodically but I'm not buying much. Can't afford it either. Tho I sure am WANTING to shop and I hate shopping!!! LOL!!! ~~~~~ I let DD sleep in til about 9 when she got up on her own. She needed it. She seems to be feeling a little better today. I'll keep her home tomorrow too tho. I've got to get some work done today. Need to get it back down to the office. Not really wanting to take DD out tho. I may call the secretary and ask if she wouldn't mind running up to the house to pick the stuff up. I hate to even ask. I'm only a couple of miles up the road but still. Maybe I'll find out if Pastor is going by and see if maybe he'll stop by on his way. He lives up the road from me so he has to go by my street. I'll make some phone calls when I'm done with my work and see.

    Non-Scale Victories Thread

Wow, reading everyone's NSV really makes me think how many small victories I have taken for granted over the last 10 months! I did have 2 profound NSV experiences last week: I help with Market day at my daughters school, I have every month for two years. This month one of the Moms (who has seen and talked with me every month for two years) introduced her self to me, told me it was nice to meet me and thanked me for helping out. I thought it was a little weird. A few days later I was at work and I recognized a women and her husband from somewhere. I asked them if they took my childbirth class 2 years ago, and they said no, they took the class but their instructor..... (long silence).... had long hair! I laughed and told them yes my hair is much shorter hair now. It was at that point that the light bulb went off and I was like OH MY GOODNESS! I had no idea I look that different!
