    Any surgery pals this week?

I'm now 2 days post op. Came Home yesterday from the hospital. Yesterday I felt good. Today was a tough day. Lots more pain and tenderness in my tummy. Lots of stomach has pain. I feel like I need to poop (sorry tmi) but can't. I feel like if I did I would feel Better. Today I started tooting which helps a bit. Today was rough tired and in pain. I managed to take a few nice walks outside which do help. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Has anyone experienced nausea after they take their Multivitamins? The past two times I've tried to take mine I've gotten sick and had to throw up. Sorry if TMI. Thanks for the input! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Sleeved on the 3/29...and I hit my stall this week....but everything else is good...other than Constipated (tmi) Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  6. Has anyone who had a panniculectomy/TT also had their FUPA (sorry! Don't know a nice way to describe it) also modified/trimmed up during surgery? Is that done? I haven't had sleeve surgery yet, but I'm expecting there to be extra material there and didn't know if that's considered a separate area to tweak ($$) or if it's pulled tight enough with the TT/panni? Thanks in advance!

    TMI? No such thing.

I added some figs and dates as extra fiber and nutrients. One key I have found is a good Probiotic. I firmly believe my "gut health" ensures I'm regular. Making sure I get my water and an occasional stool softener helps when I feel Ike I'm birthing a boulder or two. How's that for TMI? Lol.

    TMI? No such thing.

I'm a grouchy kind of fellow. I honestly believe that half of the reason for that is I just cannot keep regular. I eat well, a fair amount of Fiber and supplement with Benefiber; but honestly only 1 in 5 BM's are the type that are satisfying. You know the type, where you leave the stall with a smirk and know that you have bested the commode instead shaking your head saying that next time will be different. Lately, my relationship with the john has been one of menace. I step into the stall and immediately cop an attitude with the shitter: But more often than not, I leave like this: You know, head hung low in shame. I'm happy to report that today, I have bested that porcelain SOB. Now I can't wait to go to the gym and weigh in for the week!

    TMI QUESTION️

No such thing as TMI in this forum... And, generally speaking, nothing going in will equate to very little coming out... As you can see, everybody is different... But at 5 days out, I'd say you're still in the 'nothing to worry about' place...
  10. Hey y'all! I'm 5 days post op VSG and was wondering when you guys had your first bowel movement. I haven't gone as of yet... It is normal to not go but I just want to get input! I am recovering wonderfully! Thanks in advance!
  11. My problem is this, whenever I poop I heave like I am going to vomit, sometimes I do. I thought it would get better but it isnt. I don't think it is dumping syndrome because I am very careful about what I eat. I am nauseated pretty much all of the time so I don't know if because I am nauseated, it is easy to push me over that edge. I know it hasn't been that long, do I just need to wait longer? Any advice? Background: I had the RNYGP on March 31st. First two weeks I was able to get in all of my liquids and 2 or 3 costco Protein drinks. One day my body just said nope! I couldn't keep them down or get them down. It was time to transition to real food. So my doc said to quit the Protein Drinks. Transitioning has been difficult and is not going well. I eat small amounts, 1/4 cup, and stick to what I'm allowed. I am transitioning very very slowly too. I have trouble getting 10 grams of protein a day. I do exercise, which can help with the nausea. Also digestion hurts, is that normal at first??? I pureed my food and still chewed it to make sure it was chewed enough.

    Band to bypass

This is probably TMI, but I had my revision from band to RNY on April 1. I had a gi bleed afterwards and had to get a blood transfusion. I'm doing fine now. I'm on the blended/pureed stage for eating. I'm getting about 60 grams of Protein in. Drinking Water about 40-60 oz. per day. My question is, dis any of you experience diarrhea afterwards? It's usually 2-3 times per day. Just curious if this gets any better. Thank you. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Life with CPAP

I have a love/hate relationship with it. I have the jumbo face mask one (friends and family have compared it to "Bane" on Batman. I think it's more Alien face-hugger, but whatevs, LOL. Freaking bulky and, ahem, not attractive.) However, the damn thing DOES help a ton. I no longer snore like a wildebeest and keep my husband awake. My sinuses are fabulously cleared because mine hydrates the nostrils (TMI? LOL) so I don't wake up with a crusty nose, and I AM sleeping way better with it. Having said all that . . . I can't WAIT for surgery, and the second I'm breathing/sleeping more normal, I'm going to throw it in the closet and happily ignore it I think. Like a previous poster, I am monitored remotely for compliance. I need to keep it on a minimum of 4 hours a day, 5 of 7 days a week to keep the machine. After 9 months of good-girl usage I can keep it. Until then, they are charging my insurance $250 a month for the privilege of me using the darn thing. I'm a number-cruncher/MFP/Fitbit tracking nerd, and the CPAP machine has a link where you create a user ID and can see your nightly results and get a score, which I like. 7 hours is the magic number to get 90-100. I average 5-6 hours a night. It tells me how often I had waking incidents, usage time, etc., etc. Kinda cool. It DOES help. I was skeptical but going along with it for surgery compliance, but now I really do miss it if I don't use it at night. I feel about as sexy as a troll strapping the stupid thing on after kissing hubby goodnight, but what can you do? P.S. I dangle the extra cord over my bedpost so it doesn't wrap around anything.

    Poop

A totally TMI subject but I'm curious....I have issues being regular since I had my band placed in 2010 and have to take miralax to help things along. Since the bypass messes directly with that process moreso then the band I was wondering how the poop process goes. Does anyone have to help things along or is it easier, does it change the farther out from surgery you get? Thanks peeps Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. two words..."squatty potty". I was having the same issue, and no medicine worked for me. But the squatty potty was, hell still is wonderful. And it was a non medicinal way. I had even tried a enema, which when you are compacted is not nice. I know I sound like a commercial but I feel your pain, and my longest bout was greater than 21 days. With my special friend, I don't hardly have to struggle or push at all. Oh and this is not TMI, it is a real issue many of us experience. The is a thread you should check out: You and your post op ass. It is hilarious and true Best of luck and release to you. : >
  16. **TMI alert*** Guys, this is super embarrassing but I need to know. I am at day 7 and while constipated for the past few days, today I've been dealing with impacted fecal matter that will not say bye. For a play by play, there have been 7 rounds and it's currently 7 feces - 0 me. The surgeon has told me to to take dulcolax to try to fight it, but it's been 7 hours, and I have gone a few times only to have some spurts of loose motion, but the impacted matter is killing me and not exiting. Did anyone else experience this? Or similar. I was feeling so much better but the flexing of my core during the episodes have left me very lower energy. Best, Sanju

    2 days Post-op

I'm Day 4 from surgery and the gas has been the biggest thing for me. In the beginning it was just growling around in my system all the time. That has gotten better, and I have passed substantial gas, but I don't dare pass gas unless I'm on the commode. I have diarrhea and have had it since Day 4 of the Pre-op diet! I guess I expected as much since I'm only taking in fluids, fluids is what's going to come back out. But, I'm really tired of trying to run to the bathroom whenever the gas feels like it just needs to explode out, because it won't be just gas. I know it's TMI, but I don't know how else to describe it. I took an Immodium today hoping to calm that part down. I have not used any pain meds today other than Tylenol (liquid), and I do have discomfort in my midsection, but if I don't do too much it's tolerable. I want to go outside for a walk, but I'm afraid to go too far from the bathroom! I feel kind of bad today and that is depressing me. Trying to keep my spirits high.

    Morning problems

Ps. Maybe tmi but I also get the feeling like I really have to poop. Really bad but of course I'm just out so its hard to go. Could that be related?
  21. Ok so last night I decided to have some Soup 4 days post op, it was actually clam chowder and I went ahead ahead and had a bowl which is like half the can of Progresso. I consumed the entire bowl (potatoes and all) and made sure to chewed up everything finely. Then over night I had a stomach ache that appeared to be trapped gas, I took my gas drops this morning, along with some more hydro-codone (from the overnight sleeping aches I've been getting) and also tried to release some gas (sorry if TMI) and the pain still insist until now (the next day at 3:30). I know I'm already messing up, not draining the soup but does anyone think this dull ache is from the full soup consumption or could it be due to the fact that I have yet to have a BM? Failure

Hey y'all! I was banded 1/2009 and for the first two years, lost about 65 pounds. I could never get the fills in the green zone- too tight or too loose. I threw up 3 times a day for 4 years. Not throw up but the regurgitation(sorry for tmi) Basically, I lost all my weight by starving and working out like I was the next contestant on Biggest Loser, except there weren't cameras or Jillian Michaels screaming at me. I had a band slip in 2011- while on a cruise... First cruise I didn't gain weight on but was miserable. Once back home, all Fluid was taken out and I played the guessing game for a few more years. I then gained all the weight I had lost due to my band empty and poor food choices. Like many who have had a failed WLS know, it's extremely shameful and disheartening. Finally in 2015, I visited a new doctor in DFW who suggested a revision. My biggest fear is losing the weight with RNY and gaining it back. Food has and still is an emotional comfort. First step in recovery is admitting, right?! So I've started a food journal with triggers that make me want junk food. I refuse to invest in this surgery (scheduled surgery is next Tuesday... Thank you Jesus!) and gain all the weight back So anyone out there a big sweets person- did your cravings die down after the revision to bypass? What are some tricks that worked for you? I'm thankful for your help and insight! Xx Alyssa Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  24. Walk walk walk if you want to bring it down. How ever remember that you've only been in fluids so not much will come out I have my first two days post op I thought it was gas and it just ended up being basically Water and air(tmi sry) so now when I think I have gas I get close to a bathroom just in case because it's been just Fluid nothing formed at all Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. Sorry may be TMI. My surgery date is 5/18 and its smack dab in the middle of when my period usually comes. Please tell me, they'll let me wear something during surgery and not just use those blue pads for the bed?? Lol. This has been in my mind since I got my surgery date. ~Jenn~ Surgery date 5/18/16
