This is a fun topic! My first NSV was wearing a pair of denim shorts out in public! Never did that before and I am 25 years old!! haha

My first NSV was when my back stopped hurting after losing the first 15 lbs. I'm now 2 months post op and down 40lbs and today I realized I can cross my legs again. YAY! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

1. I'm down to L shirts from 2X 2. I'm down a pant size to a 14 and have to wear my built on the 5th hole. If it's on the 4th hole I can take of my pants without undoing them. 3. I am now the weight listed on my driver's license 4. I'm officially halfway to my goal. 45 lbs to go! 5. My sister almost cried last night after not seeing me for a while. She kept saying "You're so tiny!" Just wanted to share because I'm happy! Carry On!

I'm only 2 weeks post-op but my first NSV was pulling out a dress shirt from wayyyy back in my closet (it actually had dust on it, that's how long it's been since I wore it last) and I buttoned it up and it fit. I'm a teacher and one of my many goals is to wear buttoned shirts and ties to school. I never have before because they were uncomfortable and I just didn't like how I looked in them. I've got a month and a half to make it happen! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Regular sized bath towel
Caliblonde replied to lil red raider's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is a really AWESOME NSV!!!!!!!! Good for you. -
Cant wait for that NSV! I know it will be one of my first since I lose on the bottom first. Its kind of silly.. but its funny how the people who can already do this, like in the office or wherever don't even realize that I'm looking at them and are envious of crossing their legs. I hope to NEVER take for granted those little things.

Question regarding 7 weeks post op
healthiswealth replied to marbelvsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved February 18th. HW 254, SW 242, CW 218. I'm 5'9 and 42 years old. I've walked 5 to 6 times a week making my way from a mile to three miles now. I walk the 3 miles in an hour. I'm now losing at a rate of 2 lb per week. I've lost a total of 72 inches (I measure EVERYWHERE). I can bend over and pick up something in my car floor board now. Those types of NSV'S are what I enjoy most. I've also gone from a size 22 to an 18. -

This NSV caught me by surprise
Daveo replied to borg/assimilated's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@@borg/assimilated love the username! That's a great NSV, I was sitting in the chair the other day and pulled my leg up to my lap like I used to do years ago. I didn't even notice for minutes until it hit me. I hadn't been able to do that for the longest time. -

That was really well written! I pictured the whole scene. You should consider writing if you don't already. Love the NSV -
Hey Guys!!!.. Yes, I know it's been a minute!! But, I'm still alive and kicking... just crazy busy and mourning the end of my summer vacation!! LOL... Well, let's see... I have kind of learned how to deal w/ my anxiety around successfully navigating my sleeved life.. I JUST DO IT!!! Most days I'm quite successful and on the "challenging" days.. I try to remember, there is always tomorrow!! Tis Life!!! I'm also learning to shed the "I wear the largest size in the store" mentality.. Went to Target yesterday to get some epsom salts to help with the aches and ACHES from this body works class I went to on Monday... the beast lady trainer tried to kill me.. I promise she did.. I did survive.. barely.. but anyway... my friends and I decided to try on some clothes... First, I've never worn ANYTHING from Target besides socks!!! So, we grab dresses and my BFF ******es a hanger from me and says... are you crazy... you don't wear that size!!! Of course I argue... She I had a 4 (26/28) she wanted me to get a 1 (18/20)... we compromised at a 2 (20/22).... I knew I would be embarrassed cause I wouldn't be able to get my big butt in this little dress (yes, little... I'm used to 28, 30 and 32s).... so.. I sashay into the dressing room... pissed off... and it FIT!!! like... really FIT!!! I couldn't believe it.. LOL... Oh, I'm in a wedding in December, so I had to go get fitted for the dress... which, I put off to the last possible minute... anyway... the consultant was amazing and tried to help me see that I wasn't a size 30 anymore... put on a very small cut size 24 gown and a size 38D corset bra!! I'm like.. WHAT??!! for real??!!! I attached a pic.. excuse the gym hair!!! Trying to get more gym time in this week before I head back to work!!! Oh, I also saw 308 on the scale this week!!! Yeah.. over 300 and wearing a 20/22.. LOL.. I don't get it, but I'll take it!! So those are the major NSVs for this week!! LOL.. I've gained a few more Tina-isms since the last time I posted.... here they are ... Find someone to share your story with... Highs, lows, in-betweens... This will definitely serve as a reminder that you have come sooo far..even if you're just starting out or making the decision to change your life... Share it... Your story sounds good being told by YOU!!! Don't worry too much about wasting food... it's called a ziploc bag, container or whatever!!! I hate left overs, but, when I did the math, I could spend $2 on a bag of frozen veggies and make my leftovers into 2-4 DIFFERENT meals!! I spent $10 at brunch yesterday and ate 4 times!!! Learn your weight loss patterns and listen to your bodyI CANNOT lose weight when eating fruit... Like.. I don't know why... so, I limit my fruit intake to weekends and spend the week doing Protein and green veggies... That may not be the case for some people... find out what works for you and DO IT!!!! Water is YOUR FRIEND!!! Feeling tired and kind of blah.... grab a couple of bottles of water.... take a leisurely stroll as your drink... I love CL pink lemonade.. YUM!!! Take a friend with you when you go shopping... You may not see the difference in your size (I drop lots of inches before pounds come off)...but, others can... CLEARLY... Finally, Learn to appreciate the things that make you unique!! You are amazingly and perfectly you.. Not perfect, but perfectly you.. Love and accept the wonder of it!! Change what you don't like... but never underestimate your power and presence!! Love and Hugs!!! Tina

I admit it--I used be be a diet coke addict. I work night shift, and caffiene was the only thing that got me through. Diet coke was the beverage of choice, but I would drink other caffinated beverages too. I have been soda free and caffiene free for over a month now. I have totally kicked those habits. I had a sip of my DH's diet coke recently and thought it tasted nasty. I need to focus on these kinds of victories--my surgeon is conservative and won't do a fill till the 6 week mark, so I haven't had my first fill yet. What other victories have people had?

I can't believe it's already been a month since my surgery. I've had my ups and downs, but I'm trying to stay positive. My surgery itself was fantastic. It went so smoothly and I was so impressed with my surgeon, the nurses and the hospital. I was very fortunate to have no gas pain, and honestly I felt so much better than I expected to. My weight loss was fantastic in the beginning, but as soon as I hit week three, I hit the notorious week three stall. I have to say that despite having read about it, I wasn't expecting it. I weigh nearly 400 pounds, and I'm losing one pound a week eating 400 calories a day? SERIOUSLY???? Stupid body. lol. Week four I managed to lose two pounds, but still I'm finding it very disappointing, but I'm not exercising (blood clot), so that's part of it. I hit something unexpected and found out I had a blood clot when they went to remove my IVC filter. Crap. I'm self-pay so in addition to being worried about that, I also know this means I'm going to have an additional $20,000 or so of medical expenses. And then I had to call my boss and tell him that I'm going to be out of work for another two weeks. Stress city. I'm not happy. BUT...that's all there is. I can't do anything about things out of my control. I'm trying to stay positive and keep myself busy. In a month or so this will all be a memory and I'll be onto something else. Month One Stats: Surgery Weight: 416 One Month Later: 389 Pounds Lost: 27 NSVs: None yet
