So as most of you know I had me sleeve done 3-20-19. This was the best decision I made for myself. Since my surgery I have only lost 25 lbs. I have been doing everything they have asked, just can't lose it. I work out, get my protein and water. I'm not gaining just don't know what else to do. I'm so scary this will not work for me after I went through a year and a half working for it. The one day of the week that I don't go to the gym I feel guilty about it At first I was thinking this is a stall but come on I'm in week 9. I just don't know what to do anymore, hoping this wasn't a waste of time. Sent from my Moto E (4) using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi. I had surgery on 4/15/19. HW 378. DOS 319.8. CW 296.9. I’m happy with my progress. I lost the first 18 lbs in less than 2 weeks and because of the rapid weight loss my body went into self preservation mode and weight loss stalled. But Its moving again and I think its because I am finally able to get in more Protein and calories. I also walk about 2 miles and do a work out video at home about 5 days per week. So be patient. When you lose weight fast and then stop it’s your body’s natural reaction. Good luck!

I only had to do mines for 5 days and with only liquids. (Sf jello, sf popsicles, protein shakes, water, Gatorade g2, and broth) I lost 10 pounds in those 5 days.

How sore can I expect to be post op?
Teri B replied to lifeasfaith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I am on POD # 3 (surgery 5/20). I had a decent amount of nausea especially when I went to the bathroom or walked. I had pain about 6/10 for the first post-op day. They gave me IV pain meds and nausea meds. I also slept the entire post op day # 1 except to do my walks. i have taken about one pain pill at bedtime.the nausea is much better as well. -
Melissa W I’m out 19 years post op and I still get trashed and if I do a shot I can’t even walk for 15 minutes.. people who are now getting the surgery have to be careful and not drink alone it can be a problem!

June 2019 Surgery Siblings!
demayome replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello All, I had my endoscopy 2 weeks ago on Thursday, I will call to follow up on the biopsy. Though usually no news is good news in regards to testing. I have an appt. Thursday for update on my blood work. I am also awaiting insurance approval and that will be it. I am sure it will be scheduled in June. I am getting super excited. I finally got insurance March of 2018 & I hadn't been to a Dr. in years. I have lots of negative family health history and a lot of my blood work showed that I had inherited it. I went on vacation in May of 2018 & was so out of breath I thought I was having a heart attack. When I got back I began researching procedures. I began the process in October 2018. I slowed down at the beginning of 2019. I received a major promotion that took a lot of my time in training & my first grand daughter was born in February. There was so much going on, I wanted to be able to concentrate on the program. I am definitely ready. I plan on getting gastric bypass. I have really bad heart burn. Type 2 Diabetes, High Cholesterol. Depression, anxiety. A whole bunch of medicine I want to get off of. I want to be healthy and be alive in 50years. I am 44 yrs old. 5ft 7 inches. HW: 296 lbs. CW: 288. Ready to join the losers bench and to live my best life! -
Also 9 months out. 90 lbs down but now the scale is barely moving. I must confess that I haven't been making good food choices lately. I'm trying to get my head back in the game but I'm getting nervous that I've reached the end of the so-called honeymoon period. I'm not giving up though! I'm satisfied with the weight I'm at now but to get to the normal BMI range I need to lose another 10-20 lbs so I'm still marching toward that goal.

Hi! I had my LB put in on 2007 n had it removed 5/2018. While having it I had all the same symptoms u had n some. I had a tummy tuck on 5/2017 causing me to have lots of port problems n leaving me no choice but to remove the LB. Since the LB was removed it’s been wonderful compared to all the problems I had. But unfortunately, 5 months down the road n in 10/2018 I too lost my thyroid n still struggling with getting my hormone levels adjusted. I’m going to finally go c an Endocrinologist at the end of this month. U having thyroid problems doesn’t have anything to do with the LB or them saying it’s the cause of absorption issues. One thing I will say is that since I lost my thyroid; I’ve gained 70 pounds due to the thyroid medication n it didn’t matter how much I diet or exercised. Ur LB removal will go fine n ur probably going to gain weight cuz ur body is going to go through a lot more major changes. So food for thought.

I had my bypass surgery 04/25/2019. It was one of the happiest and best decisions made. My depression comes from the weight loss I started at 308. and now 285. I walk everyday I work out and eat what it says in my booklet. My weight is not moving, is this normal?

Anyone else have vision issues post-op?
danieocean posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 months post-sleeve and for the past 2 weeks, I've had issues with my vision. I've always had fantastic vision and only used light Rx glasses for when my eyes get tired from working on the computer. I'm talking 20/10 vision. Suddenly every day my vision is getting worse. Up close and far away. Everything is blurry, I'm having to squint as I drive and as I type. So... I went to an optometrist over the weekend, thinking, maybe I'm just getting older and these years of working on the computer are catching up with me. The doctor did his tests and said my vision had definitely gotten "worse" since my last visit (about 2 years ago). My left eye is 20/20 with a little help and my right is 20/40. He decided to dilate my eyes and noticed a "freckle" on my retina on my right eye that wasn't there before. That was the one and only thing he could find that was off, he told me that I need to see an Ophthalmologist for further testing because he "has no idea what's going on" VERY REASSURING lol. He also informed me that my new glasses won't fix whatever underlying cause is making my vision so bad so quickly. I have an appointment next Tuesday to see the Ophthalmologist...so we'll see what is really going on. Just wondering if anyone had anything similar happen with their eyes and what the cause was. It could be completely unrelated to the surgery...so I'm just curious Hope you're all doing fabulous!!!!
