Kristen, throw that Halloween candy in the garbage! That's what you would tell me so do it for yourself. We're supposed to get Papaya Enzyme. I got mine at Walmart and the brand name is Spring Valley and they are chewables. It's not very expensive for 180 tablets and the holistic Dr I spoke to yesterday said we can take 6 if needed. Caryn, I know that protein drinks do that to me too. Now I need to cut out the black beans in my hubby's wonderful turkey chili and no more sweet potato fries for me. I just started the probiotic and maybe between that, watching what I am eating more carefully and the Papaya Enzymes i can reduce the gas. Sorry about TMI. Last night we ordered Outback takeout with friends. I was amazed that I actually stopped and felt full after les than half of my petie filet and less 1/4 of a baked potato. I ate all my salad with their Tangy Tomato dressing and felt full so I stopped without eating even half of my dinner. A real NSV for me. I thought their dressing was low fat so I used it. NOT! That house salad was 216 calories. I should have checked it before I ate it. If I know I am going somewhere out to eat I always check to see if their menu is online. If I had, I would have taken off the croutons and used my own dressing. I really did enjoy it but looking back I should have been more careful. Since I had not eaten much yeserday I was 156 calories over my 1100 so it will probably be OK. Overeating on salad, dumb mistake. :mad3: We can do this! Blessings, GG

Calling all A11s!!
LisaAnnMurray replied to CarynW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well here is a post from Aug 11, 2011 # 3 in a row. Cara....I also get a fill on the 16th....I am excited and scared. I have had no problem eating anything but a bagel thin very toasted....doesn't work for me...will not try it again....I don't even want to look at on. I was a sweet iced tea oholic....God took this taste from me. I sipped it for three days after surgery...I came home from church the Sunday after surgery and yuck it tasted awful. I haven't drank out of a glass since that day. I have my water and I am sticking to it. I had a slight PROBLEM yesterday. I usually eat oatmeal on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sundays. I have more time on these days. The other days I make a protein shake and drink in the run...I usually drop my daughter off and then off to the walking trail. I have never had any problems with the shake. Well yesterday was a busy day.... mixed a shake and out the door I went. I sipped thru Sunday School and when church started....my lower tummy started to expand and I started having craps. I excused myself...I went to the potty and nothing (sorry for the TMI) and then I walked around in the connected nursery....thought the pain was gone. Back into church. I sat down and in just a few minutes...the pain came back,,,,,BAD. I got woozy and thought I was about to pass out. I willed myself thru in and back up I went. I had decided I wasn't coming out til the pain was gone. I walked around and around in the nursery and it finally eased. Now after the story...has anyone else had a problem with protein shakes doing anything like this. I have never had a real problem with milk. Someone told me the whey powder bulks up..... With all this said my first month has been great. i start water aerobics today and I am going to up my walk to more than a mile...I will post tonight or in the morning how things went. I am so excited about my life change. God is Good...ALL THE TIME! -
August Sleevers Check In
Karen Scott replied to Sweet Pea STL Sleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it will come. Had surgery 8/29/14 I had a bm 4 days later but not the norm, it was runny (tmi) now I can pass down there freely. My problem is I don't know wen I am full so I drink a lot of liquids so I don't get dehydrated. A lot of spasms though. And medication makes me halleucinate. Stopped taking it. -
I think it depends on the individual , not the age. I am 46 was done on tues and don't even feel as though I have had surgery. I had mild pain for the first 24 - 48 hours but nothing now(except period pains and thats altogether another matter, far worse than the op). Sorry if that's TMI! Was nauseous the first couple of days but soup seems to have solved that. I wake up not hungry which is great. Am slowly sipping an instant breakfast at the moment. Normally by now I would have eaten stacks and still be hungry. I don't think I am managing all the drinks as well as the food - it is just sooo much liquid.I find that I am satisfied at the moment but I do need the soup etc. I also find I am hungrier at the end of the day than the beginning. My homemade soup tastes so much better than the preop stuff. I am eating slowly but still worry a little that maybe I am eating faster than I am supposed to - it is difficult to judge. I am able to sleep on my side with no discomfort and can drive short distances without a problem. I have been lounging around the house lots doing nothing much as I don't want to push it. I was wondering if those of you that were done early this week have taken your dressings off already? I am supposed to take them off but am a bit nervous about it, especially the port one. Once you take them off do you leave them as they are or have you put a fresh dressing on?Just wondering what is best.

fitflab25 commented on fitflab25's blog entry in My path to being comfy with my self in and out.

So i wore my baggy pants cause more material, ate a number two meal from wendys, and manged my cell phone in my pocket. I have to be 40% bmi and I came in at 39.9%! lol so i have to come back in monday morning to do this damn thing. I almost said for get about it that simple and then i benged on chinese food and was like omg omg omg i need this damn thing cause there is no way i would have managed that with the lap band. Not to mention this drastic measure is going to give me the kick in the butt that i need to hit it hard core more than what i am now... so monday it is. I just hope i dont take a big bath room break before hand lol lol sorry if thats tmi.. love u banders and i cant wait to join the family -
No i wish i had tmi lol i was very hydrated before surgery. I lost count on how many bags of fluids I've had. Also i never once filled up my catheter bag. So my bladder ultrasound said it was only 50% full so my body must be absorbing all this fluids. Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using RNYTalk

Dam this took over an hour to read through and I have to say you all are GREAT, I know for some its tuff talking like this in an open forum with strangers. Ok now that the TMI issue has been tossed out the window I have a few words. I have noticed that when she eats a healthier diet her love muffin has a very mild aroma and taste, I’m happy to say she eats healthy most of the time!!! Now on to the squirting, my wife just lucked out and never needed to learn from a book, just CAME naturally to her, no pun intended! I was aware of this type of female orgasm before my wife and through one of the books taught a few of my partners how to squirt, now this all being said no worries to all those who don’t squirt when you cum, my wife says she just cum’s and sometimes it has a nice fountain with it. I would say it’s about 80% of the time. Three words Hitachi Magic Wand. Well for my wife and I when it’s time for the fun to end its me from behind and here holding the Hitachi magic wand, open the flood gates she is like that Geyser in Yellowstone “Old Faithful” Oh and as far as being told by my partner how and what she likes I have no issues with that, I was lucky when I was younger I went through a phase where I was very attracted to older woman and one of the things I liked most was many of them were not shy when it came to being vocal about what they liked. This has helped me big time over the years, I have also found that goodcommunication is your best friend not only with sex but with life in general remember we cant read minds!!! Oh and very sorry if any of this bothers any of ya, lol Im all druged out from being banded the other day WOOOT for me

How Painful Was The Surgery?
lunabella007 replied to AdeptDreamer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It wasn't too bad! I was surprised! The day of surgery, after I woke up, I got up and walked around 4 hours after getting operating on. It was great, because it wasn't as bad as I expected. I had to hold my abdomen when I sat up or walked anywhere though. The shots they were giving me for pain the day of surgery didn't make me nauseated at first, but the next morning I couldn't tolerate them anymore, so they switched me to liquid vicodin which I went home on that afternoon. What you've heard is true, at least as far as I'm concerned, the gas pain and the not-being-able-to-fart thing was way worse than any incision or stomach pain I had. The incision I had closer to my left side hurt more than the others because when I'd sit on the toilet and reach for the toilet paper it would pull a little on the wound. Sorry if TMI. To be completely honest, I've had PMS that was worse! (Sorry TMI again! Just being honest!) Oh, and I could pretty much get back to my life as usual after 4-5 days or so. -
soul love some advice or info from anyone who has done this. I am considering getting a reduction to hopefully a 36/38 DD so i can workout better (maybe even run!) and fit into clothing better. However, I am worried about losing sensation. This is probably TMI but my girls are definitly one of THE zones for me and I am afraid I would lose sensation and not be able to fully enjoy hanky panky again.

June 2009 Surgery
KOLaficionado replied to traviesa97's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes congrats on the quitting smoking! I've been smoke free for three months now and I just now feel like I can breath so much easier. I also seem to sleep a lot better too. Finally stopped hacking crap up:ack2: (TMI I know..) For all of you looking for good Protein shakes, try Isopure. There's actually an add for it over on the right of the page a lot. It's the best quality protein and is very very low fat and carb. I think with a little added sweetener and even some various extracts, it tastes great. You don't even need to blend it, it mixes fine with a spoon. Just a thought. Good luck on the preop diets everyone I'm struggling, but getting it done without cheating, so far  -
Hmmm, that could be a possibility. And well, I just thought of something! You're "time of the month", could that be coming up soon? I noticed that when I was 2 weeks into the pre-op diet, mine came a whole week early, and during the 2nd week, I was worried that I was gaining weight b/c I wasn't "peeing enough". Sorry for the TMI, but I just know with me, I bloat like crazy before it hits.

Anyone Else Afraid Of Losing Their Legs And Butt?
Indigo1991 replied to marfar7's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Marfar7, this is exactly how I lost weight, butt first! But as I got closer to target my boobs are now beginning to shrink and I can now wear the same size on top and bottom. First time I have done that in 25 years :-) But am still having a boob job to stop having to roll them up in my bra.... Sorry tmi lol -
Hi all, heading off to bed in a few minutes. Jut got home, not long ago, went and had my fill today, my first, he put in 1.25cc. I of course am on liquids, so have no idea if there has been any change, will not likely know for a couple of days I am told. We will not go into the fill itself...enough to know I am here!!! DH's first round of blood work did not come in with high enough numbers, so I am giving him 2 shots a day for another 3 days. Now get this, the first prescription for the Lovenox ( an injectable blood thinner) cost us $98.00 (with our insurance, would have been 200.00 something without it). That was for 5 pre-filled syringes. Today he goes to get the prescription for 6 more filled, and it was going to cost over $300.00. He questioned it, they told him to call the ins. so he did, and the insurance company (medco with BCBS) said it was because he needs to use the mail order for it. BUT there is no way they can have it here before Wednesday. This is a blood clot, it is not negotiable...it is there now and needs treated now! By Wed. we will be finished with this round. So he ask about ordering them now, and buying the new ones...nope, can not be filled again for 3 days...which then puts the mail order, 3 days later. It was impossible to make them understand what was going on. Even the office mgr. at the Dr.'s tried. Then AFTER we coughed up the $$$, we find out he can go to the hospital and receive them as an outpatient, and not cost us anything more than our already paid deductable.....Was an expensive Dr. day for us, with my fill and his shots!!! DD is moving out!!! Her house is ready, she is thrilled, I am thrilled!!! I love her with all my heart, and the granddaughter....is perfection personofied, BUT.....living with my daughter full time again, was a trial at times!!! Mainly, I am just glad her place is finished, it turned out beautiful, she now has a very nice home, and I can weigh naked in the morning if I wanna!!! Ok, TMI, must be time for bed, will catch personals soon. In the meantime, GIANT hugs of appreciation for all the prayers and good thoughts as we go through all this, I am so glad you are all here to vent to THANK YOU!!! Kat

Was my revision exp normal?
meyouus replied to meyouus's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Thanks for asking Sreeves, actually, my gas has changed. TMI alert. Instead of gas, I'm getting 'rumbling' in my lower abdomen, resulting in a small, but noticeable, loose stool. How could I have stool when all I'm doing is drinking? I drink warm decaf tea w lemon, beef or chicken broth, skim milk and SF Koolaid. Not in any order. But I'm scared I'll try to pass gas when it's actually something else. I haven't taken the gas-x yet. What's worse than the pain, is being scared a possible symptom means this and/or that and you worry, worry , worry. Like I am now. ???? -
When I move, I feel a swirling/swishing of my inside flying from right to left, and wobbling back. I swear it feels like my intestines/organs are swimming around. It is gross and so painful. Regarding # 2, I had a miracle yesterday before I was discharged. I felt the urge, and something (tmi) did splat its way out from the appropriate place :-) basically just a teaspoon of sediment on the bottom of the toilet.

Protien Shakes (Warning: Maybe TMI)
TN_girl21 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink the Atkins protein shakes in the morning. It's just such an easy breakfast before school and work. But recently, after I drink one, I have diarrhea. I mean like cold sweats and everything. I didn't drink one for about 3 days. I tried again this morning. Same thing. What in the world could be causing this? -
I think the weight gain was from the air installed in my tummy as well as the huge amounts of Fluid they infused in me. And last but not least, TMI - but being constipated by the pain meds. But all is well now. I'm pretty darn happy! The doc said that surgery would probably be 2 hours but I was done in an hour! Started walking around as soon as I got to my room later that evening and never stopped! The walking was key to being discharged and getting my body woken up from the anesthesia. I was discharged two days after surgery! In on Wednesday and out on Friday. Not too shabby! I've not had any issues keeping fluids down or drinking, and I've had to remind myself to take it slow. Pain has been minimal, but of course, if you move the wrong way too fast, you'll feel incisional pain. Not a big deal. I have had a "upset tummy" at times, but I think that is partially from drinking too much at a time. That subsides, and the Omeprozol helps. Happy to answer any other questions! Best wishes to all and I'm so glad I did this! Crash!

I am doing great...I think. LOL! My incisions are sore but better than yesterday. Working on getting all the water in. That’s my biggest challenge so far. I have to say the hardest thing has been cooking for my husband while I can’t eat any of it. But that is just a test of my willpower. I saved money for my sleeve for 2 years because I was a healthy obese person. My insurance wouldn’t pay even meeting the 35 BMI but with no co morbidity, they wouldn’t pay. So I am not about the mess anything up. I still have some right shoulder pain even though I’m passing gas and had a very small BM this morning. TMI!! How are you!

alittle odd question
nomorejellybelly replied to ASHLEYRO21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have regular bm's for a little while after my surgery and when I did (TMI ALERT), it was usually just tiny bits. -
I lost 12 lbs on my pre-op diet and have lost 4 more lbs since surgery last Wednesday. Today I went to the brand new Trader Joes in Houston and was able to walk all around the store and look around and my knees didn't hurt. Before, when I went to any store I would have to take the riding cart around. I still rode the cart at costco and Sam's but pretty soon I won't need to. Also, this may be TMI, but I no longer have to brace myself against the wall of the bathroom to get my arm far enough around to wipe myself. That was one of my last straws. While I was on my pre-op diet I noticed that I could move the seat up a couple of notches making it easier to hold the clutch all the way in - I had to move it back after surgery since my stomach was swollen and sore, but I will probably be able to move it all the way up (I'm only 5' tall) after the swelling goes down.

Hi all- I am 10 days post op and have a few ?'s..................sorry if TMI, but my pee color has turned a real darker yellow almost orange...........I feel like I drink a ton of water/crystal light (much more than before surgery when I drank a bunch of soda)............shouldn't the pee be clearer? And my bandages are finally off and so are steri=strips. I am left with the "stickiness" gooey stuff on my skin-scrubbing it does not get it off for me? What did you guys use? I feel so dirty!

HWT: 270 SWT: 260 CWT: 234 Surgery Date: 6/18/13 I'm down 26 lbs. since surgery, but 31 lbs. if you count my 2-day pre-op diet. It seems kind of slow to me, but I'll take it. Just started my period this am (TMI), so hoping this will be a great week!
