Question. Yesterday I was constipated TMI, that's fixed but today I have been having the worst pain in my pouch feels like someone is trying to turn it inside out or something. Tried to eat one thing today and was ok but also nauseous and burping a lot. What's the deal? Tomorrow is my first day back at work and it's a 12hr shift and I'm the only pharmacist there. This is the worst I've felt since surgery...any thoughts??? Help?

Suddenly Single... now what?
dramagirl28 replied to dramagirl28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you guys so much for the support. I can't imagine doing this without him. He has never had trouble with weight but somehow always knew exactly what to say. When he said I was beautiful, I actually believed him. I have a lot of work to do on myself. I know WLS is right for me but it seems so scary now. I've been prepping for it since October of last year, all in the context of our relationship and our future. I'm going to be getting my surgery date in the next week or two and I know that will really set things in motion and I feel like I'm struggling to put this in the new context of my life without him (which I can't even imagine right now). Breakups suck in general. I really didn't need this added complication. I think it will only emphasize how alone I am. The funny thing is that since he broke up with me I haven't been able to eat anything really. Just thinking about the smell of food made me sick to my stomach. When I did manage to convince myself to put something in my mouth, I couldn't bear the taste or texture. I was so hungry but so sick to my stomach. I turned to Protein shakes just to quiet the rumbling and to get in some nourishment. I kept thinking "get used to this--this is what it's going to be like post-op!" Today is the first day I haven't thrown up due to stress (tmi?) and I was actually able to eat two decent meals. Anyway, thanks for listen to me ramble. My friends and family have been supportive about the breakup but this element of it needed some specialized attention. -

I was just wondering the same thing lately. I think it must be hormone fluctuations. There is a physical aspect to it for me (TMI: dryness). -

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!
AngelaW replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Another beautiful day and another chance to make this work! Jamie- I sure hope that having your gallbladder taken out cures what has been ailing you. Shiny- I haven't thought of jumping jacks in years! I am going to have to give it a try. (I immediately got a mental picture of black eyes. HA! Guess my jumping jacks will involve a really tight sports bra or an ace bandage!!) LOL. Things just aren't where they used to be, ya know? Ready- I am also glad that you had a true band experience. Sliming is the worst! I had an episode myself and I was amazed at the quantity. Where does all of that stuff come from?? I was blowing bubbles trying to get it all out. Sorry....TMI :smile2:. LilMiss- I have read on here before that steroids mess with a lot of people's weight loss. UG! You have a great attitude. It is a journey and you will get there! We all will!!! Tap- Good luck with finding a new tenant. Twenty months without problems is a great record. Just think: renovating an apartment= excersize! You are killing two birds with one stone...at least that is how I reason with myself when it comes to housework :sneaky:. Good morning and Happy Thursday! -
I'm 5 days out, on a clear liquid diet. And starting this morning, any time I drink something that isn't plain water, I end up running to the bathroom and being in there for awhile emptying out. Sorry if TMI. I just hurt so bad. I had some broth at lunch, almost instantaneously it seemed to go through me. Whats the deal?

I lost 12 lbs on my pre-op diet and have lost 4 more lbs since surgery last Wednesday. Today I went to the brand new Trader Joes in Houston and was able to walk all around the store and look around and my knees didn't hurt. Before, when I went to any store I would have to take the riding cart around. I still rode the cart at costco and Sam's but pretty soon I won't need to. Also, this may be TMI, but I no longer have to brace myself against the wall of the bathroom to get my arm far enough around to wipe myself. That was one of my last straws. While I was on my pre-op diet I noticed that I could move the seat up a couple of notches making it easier to hold the clutch all the way in - I had to move it back after surgery since my stomach was swollen and sore, but I will probably be able to move it all the way up (I'm only 5' tall) after the swelling goes down.

Dont blame you lol. I am on Optifast shakes for a week. However, I have stopped them for a bit now. Had to have a piece of dry toast as stomach felt very empty. Daren't have another shake as don't want to make a mess on the operating table (TMI lol). What we have to go through eh! Good luck for Thursday. -
Frequently Asked Questions
NowHisMrs0711 replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey all!! My surgery date was the 9th. I can completely relate to the gas. At this point for me it hasn't gone away, but I do find that I experience it most after a "meal" or drink. I have also noted that it is cruvial to SLOW DOWN when eating. If you don't you will feel like you have a knot in ur chest, that only burping and puking can cure. This part totally sucks, and it makes it hard to breathe hard to sit up, etc. I recommend buying a baby spoon to eat all ur meals. And what has worked for me is eating alone while doing something else that is distracting me. For exampke, my meals at work, while emailing etc, are splendid, but at home, while eating with my husband, have been horrible. I experienced esophageal spasms after surgery, especially when I returned home. It literally feels like an explosion in my stomach as the drink is pushed down. It's a horrible sharp pain that I felt deep into my mid back. If u look it up Web MD compares it to heart attack pain. At one point I did think I was totally going to die or sprang a leak. I went to the ER and all came out clear. After seeing my surgeon for my first post op he said it's basically like a Charlie horse in the musculature or ur esophagus and that it would go away with time. I must say it totally has since yesterday. I began feeling like myself again by day 5-6 post op. I will say that I felt totally weak, but tried at all costs to stay hydrated. I just got my Vitamins today so I will be starting on that first thing tomorrow. I had chronic heartburn pre op that i self medicated. Post op i have had none whats so ever. My stool was loose and this has continued. You will feel like ur regaining control of your bowels by day 456 or so. This might be TMI but as my bothers and sisters in the sleeve, it makes it all less scary when you know someone has been there. 17 lbs down so far. Hang in there guys!! You can do this!! -
December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
sandisleeve replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
-- Thanks everyone for suggestions. Wow that's interesting AtlantaRed. I'll see how it goes but I'm afraid of what they may have to do to my bum in the ER. I guess I have to get passed that if it means long lasting relief and my way back to normal living. I have to get back to work but am in no condition to return at this point with minimal fluid intake, constipation, hernia discomfort, fatigue/lightheaded-ness, etc So not looking forward to anymore pushing but I realize I'll have to with a foot stool now of course Tmi but It really is like an intense workout minus the euphoric feeling -

5 Days Out and Feeling Soooo Much Better!
tell9rc replied to ILoveMyBoutiique's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi Boutique - surgery same day as yours - I agree - today has definitely been the breakthrough day - I think anyone who has had the surgery doesn't consider that TMI - they know your happiness lol. This was a rough few days but I'm really seeing some positives today! -
Well, I got my fill on Wednesday. Was actually up about 3 pounds since last weigh in and he put in .5 cc, so now I have 3.3 cc in my band. Today is only 2 days in, but it feels really good and I hope it holds. I have a confession to make. I was a smoker before the surgery and quit a little before, and for a little bit after (about 6 weeks). I quit again a while back and it's a double demon trying not to snack, and being constipated from not smoking (sorry if that's TMI, but that's what happens to me). I was honest with my surgeon and told him, and we both agreed that relatively I'm doing extremely well and making great headway in becoming more healthy. How is everyone else doing? NJ? Meredith? Chrissy? Nicole? Nicki? Check in, ladies! I miss you!

Yes congrats on the quitting smoking! I've been smoke free for three months now and I just now feel like I can breath so much easier. I also seem to sleep a lot better too. Finally stopped hacking crap up:ack2: (TMI I know..) For all of you looking for good Protein shakes, try Isopure. There's actually an add for it over on the right of the page a lot. It's the best quality protein and is very very low fat and carb. I think with a little added sweetener and even some various extracts, it tastes great. You don't even need to blend it, it mixes fine with a spoon. Just a thought. Good luck on the preop diets everyone I'm struggling, but getting it done without cheating, so far  -
I just learned what you meant by "mini sparks" along your ribs. HahaEvery time I take a sip the liquid goes down and the tiny "sparks" or millions of tiny air bubbles stream upward. It's almost like I'm drinking something overly carbonated and it's tickling my stomach. Although the sharp stabbing sensation I get in my chest shortly after absolutely sucks. I can only burp to get rid of air while walking. I know this is TMI but I am unable to expel the air from the other direction and really wish I could cuz it seems as if that's where it's all at. The RN at the hospital said not to worry and it will pass in time but I haven't had any luck yet. Am I the only one that feels as if my intestines are on strike?

Has Anyone Had Successful Ivf With Lap Band?
Jim1967 replied to Kekebefree's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hi Kekebefree,,, I have been and still am on clomiphene 3 days a week and I take Arimidex once a day. My Urologist found my estrogen level was a little high and was interfering with my testosterone. His hope was correcting this issue would increase my count and it did but very very little. For 7 months we monitored and I had analysis done. Doctor informed me after 7 months we did all we could with medicine and that Surgery was the next step to see if there is a blockage and see if he could extract specimen to use for IVF. On March 28, 2012 I had the surgery and no blockage was found but they managed to extract a little viable sperm. Doctor said it was very little and it would be wise for a back up plan for donor sperm just in case. My Wife and I are still on the fence on that one but a decision needs to be made soon as the IVF is going to start on her next cycle. As you can see I am pretty open guy and perhaps I over shared here but you're husband has nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. Sexual dysfunction comes in a variety of ways and it is a serious health issue for men and women. It can play havoc both mentally and physically. Here is a link that has an overview of the procedure: http://malereproduct...erm-aspiration/ I can go into more detail on the surgical procedure and recovery if your interested. We can even have a private conversation if you like. Either through here or I can message you my email address. Also, I still continue to take the meds listed above and will continue to do so. Without getting too much more into TMI I take those meds because of the increased drive and performance and on the non-sexual front I have increased motivation. I have blood tests and see my Urologist every 6 months to ensure all is well. All the best,,,Jim -

FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Just a TMI moment, but um, I think I "found" the source of the xtra pound and I will just add--it is gone now. hehehe Seriously. One. Freaking. Ginormous. Soul-satisfying. Pound. So I'll still claim the scale weight this morning but know in my heart of hearts, that I was only up maybe 0.2-0.4lbs after an UD that even involved wine. That gives me a little hope for a future of being able to eat over 1000cals a day and be "ok." -
