OMG I am so Em BARASSED.... literally the last part...

Yeah were the underware cute? If not go buy some cute underware and new jeans. Those people don't care about your butt, so you get back out there and let them see how cute your butt look in a new pair of fitting jeans. NSV :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  2. Um, would you call that an NSV? LOL!!! I guess you seriously need to get yourself some new clothes...fast!! Don't worry, what are the chances those people will remember you at the next game?
  3. Boo Boo Kitty, I am glad you are feeling better about your NSV now. I agree, this will be one of those funny stories that you tell for years to come! Keep up the good work!!!!
  4. Oh, I am experiencing some NSVs at the moment which have to do with some of my favourite pants. They are linen, cut to be loose, and were kinda elegant. Now it is a matter of crotch management when I wear 'em for they are much baggier than they were before. I love the pants but I love losing weight.

You can also put a lot more water in it without any spillage! NSV, holla! lol I'm not a huge bath person but it will be nice to fit better in there when I choose.
  6. That's great! I can't wait until I have this NSV

    What is NSV?

Hey Holly, this thread may help you. Welcome to LBT (Lap Band Talk). Glad to have you! An NSV is a Non-Scale Victory, btw (by the way) hehe http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=7959

    What is NSV?

Thanks so much! Know what my first NSV was? I can fit under the steering wheel of my car without my stomach rubbing! I counted that as a MAJOR victory! Now I can even run my hand between the steering wheel and my body... YAY, YAY, YAY!!

Surgery this Wed. March the 30th

Hi Amber. I think everything you are feeling right now is normal. This surgery is going to change your life. Make sure you set little mini goals for yourself. I made the mistake of setting really unrealistic goals as far as my weight loss went....then was very depressed when I didn't meet those goals. Now I set little goals and am much happier. The NSV's (non scale victories) are great also. Remember, everyone here will help you on your journey. The love and support you get from everyone here is awesome.

  13. That my dear is a NSV in my book !!!!
  14. I am just thrilled with my weight loss progress. I was camping this weekend with my horse and some other horse friends. One of the ladies only met me a few months ago and didn't know i used to be so heavy. We were talking about getting back to the gym now that fall is here, etc and she said to me "but you don't have much to lose" - I considered that a big NSV as I am still nearly 40# over my goal. Even my goal is still technically "overweight" but it made me feel good to be seen as "normal" range. After I got home, I was lugging stuff from my rig back up to the house. There is a small hill up the driveway, no big deal - I often jog or run up this little hill if I am in a hurry. Well yesterday I was loaded down with camping stuff, maybe carrying 40-50 pounds and I was a huffing and a puffing by the time i made it to the top of the driveway. It hit me - no wonder I felt like crap all the time carrying that extra 100+!!! What a relief it was to set down that load of camping gear, wish it was that easy with the extra weight.

    THIS TIME WAS DIFFERENT!!!!

that is a great NSV!!!! to fit on rides. A smile is super, too.
  18. Having stalls are very frustrating. At 5.5 months post op, the scale is moving slowly, by ozs. I have increased my calories which has helped by losing ozs. I'm also looking at being close to goal and yes the weight loss will be a little slower. On THE DOCTORS, they were talking about visceral fat being the easiest to loose. So that's probably where I am. Now it's time to get busy toning and stop making my lame accuses in my head to avoid exercise. LOL. We can do this, it just takes time. Yesterday, my hubby told me I need to stop with the weight loss. That's a really big NSV! I told him my body has pretty much stopped. I asked him if I look like I've lost any weight and he said yes. So my body is redistributing my weight. LOL Keep Rockin those Sleeves! There's no way you will not lose your weight! It might take some time, after all, we didn't put the weight on over night. I try to keep this in mind.
  19. I just thought i'd post because I had a total NSV today, I went shopping and found a cute pair of jeans that only had a size 20 left. It was one of those "lets see how much further I have to go" type moments and I put them on and they buttoned and fit PERFECTLY. I was jumping for joy. it's amazing how far ive come in such a short time and I want to thank everyone on here for your inspiration and encouragement. this surgery was definitely a blessing in disguise. I attached a picture of me wearing a size 30 and a picture I took in those jeans in the dressing room today
  20. OM Goodness!!! I had a stellar day out on the lake. When I was younger, I loved to tube. For those who don't know what that is..you have a boat, some rope, and a tube like air inflated raft or other device....attach rope to tube and boat, hold on for your life..and go! I haven't tubed since I was a normal sized athletic teenager! I thought.."can I even hold myself up because you have to hang on while this boat is pulling you" well..then I thought..this is the mentality that got you fat in the first place..just try". I lasted 30 minutes...amazing!!! It was just like riding a bike... I remembered how manuver my body to swing the tube out and I was parallel with the boat flying....I even caught some great air after they found some waves for me to sail over....and the boat was almost at full throttle! awesome!!!! I even got a standing O from all the boats occupants..I was the only adult to tube with the kids! Thank you sleeve..best decision I ever made was to improve my health! Why I didn't do this sooner I'll never know!

  23. So, I was pretty stoked this morning to get on my scale and finally see the 50+ pounds lost mark. It was quite the moment and it made me appreciate every ounce of the 51 pounds that I am now rid of! Having always been an athlete, it was scary to watch all of my excess pounds pile on after a few injuries left me unable to compete anymore. Then you become complacent (or at least I did), the outright lazy. The thought of getting off of the couch long enough to go for a run on the treadmill was just too much to think about, let alone actually getting off my a$$. It amazes me how my eating habits changed right along with my exercise habits (or lack of). I ate every single thing that I had never allowed myself to indulge in prior to my injuries…and enjoyed every, single bite. I couldn’t figure out how SOOOO much weight was piling on my body. I figured that is just how my body was originally supposed to be, and it just never was, since I was such an active person. Or, that is how I justified it to myself. So, now, after this morning’s humbling moment on the scale, I am 15 pounds away from my surgeon’s goal weight for me (and 40 pounds away from my own personal goal weight) but I am now on the other half of the battle (where the pounds lost weigh more than the pounds still to lose!) So, maybe it isn’t considered a NSV, but today, it totally felt like a victory!! It was a wonderful morning, a very humbling moment that made me feel for the first time in a very long time, that I am on the right track with my health. I didn’t really Celebrate my six month bandaversary (which was 3/27/13) because I was in the middle of a plateau and frustrated, so today, I am celebrating!! This site is inspiring, every one’s stories are inspiring!

    Happiness Is.......

That was a big NSV for me too. I went on Vacation in August 5 months after my surgery and I went to a hotel and used a towel and it wrapped around me like a normal person. And I got calf high boots with no need to worry about getting extra wide calf and in fact they are too loose on top. Super happy for you I know how it feels to have things like this be big events for you!
