Karen, over on the support forum, I have a thread called "Kathy's Slow Loser NSV thread" where I posted this pic and Jan's lunch pic. Less than 10 pounds loss in my weight, but it's made a world of difference. Go check it out! I have collar bones! LOL Thanks! -
I'm on my way to being banded in October, hopefully the 15th or 18th... Yahoo... Tough work, but well worth it. Are you getting banded then too?? I would love to have friends to talk and share my experiences with, for Encourgament and Cheers for scale & NSV goals.

Curious if your feet change after weight loss
dylanmiles23 replied to DanaKat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Started with a 12w and now 12m. Size 12 is expensive and hard to find. In May at Easy Spirit outlet I bought 3 pairs of sandals for around $80. That is a NSV for big feet! -
Today I completed the 8week program! Not quite to a 5k yet, but I ran the times the program required. Ran for 30mins straight today never thought I would see the day. Huge NSV for this girl. On to the 10k program next. To be continued...

December 2010 Sleevers!
CarrieJenn replied to BZButterfly79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All - Sleeved on Dec, 21st. Definitely stalled week 3 after 25lb weight loss. Upped my cals and my Water - stall broke...YAY! struggling with psychological stuff more than physical - I live in NYC, the food capital of the world, so it's a challenge to be "out and about" and not partake in MANY things!! It's not that I'm hungry or even need/want to eat - it's just that I know I shouldn't or can't. typical day menu.. Carnation No Sugar Added chocolate shake 1/2 c Fage no fat greek yogurt with 1 splenda & 1/4 pureed no sugar added fruit cup cheese wedge (laughing cow or mini babybel - Low Fat) another shake or 1/2 c Soup ice pop or teaspoon Peanut Butter drink Special K protein/fiber pink lemonade powder in water (2 per day) 30 cals each(5 mg protein/5 mg fiber) having a difficult time with pure Proteins (like salmon, chicken, turkey) deli meat has been okay but must eat very slowly wishing everyone luck... had my first NSV today - someone whom I haven't seen in months called me Skinny! ,Believe me, I have a LONG WAY to go but she noticed which was AWESOME!! That is one HECK of a NSV!!! (nonscale victory) These are some of the things that keep us goin g for sure!! I can personally say that wouldn't work for me because my hubby has always way outweighed me. But he had his Sleeve surgery and is losing great now! When we got married (I was 17 and he was 23) I weighed 135#'s and he weighed 350. He made me feel so tiny. LOL I did get scared at my highest weight. I got as high as 285#'s. I thought you better do something or you will catch up to him. LOL Something like so many others I fought my weight all of my adult life. Thankfully I got my WLS July 2, 2013. I have maintained my 124# loss for 3 years now. I can't wait for him to get his weight off so we can begin to live life again. Way to go on your weight loss!! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!! -
2 months and things are looking up

I'm glad you are feeling more like yourself now... what a great loss so far, especially those inches!! Amazing!! And congrats on you NSV today too! -
Hi all, Start 187 Last Week 186 Yesterday 184  It is moving along. I keep thinking it will stop anytime because I can't exercise (I ruptured the medial band of my plantar fascia or in English I hurt my foot ). I have an NSV as well - I just got into 16s at the end of September and have been given a closet full but they are ALL getting too big! YEAH!!! Maybe people will give me money for clothes for Christmas! I think they feel sorry for me wearing my baggy clothes but I don't want to spend lots of money on clothes I will only wear for a couple of months.

Just had follow up blood work done, specifically to test for Vitamin D and A1C levels - pre surgery my Vitamin D was at 10, now at 29 (recommended is 30+). My A1C was at 7%, now at 5.8% (7 is diabetic and 5.8 is pre-diabetic). Feels so great to moving myself outside of the dangers that come with diabetes! Fortunately all my other numbers were good. And, I have just donated 10 bags of professional clothing that no longer fits me and my closets are empty. I want to thank the posters of these Forums - I don't fear the stalls (had a week 5 one, others to come no doubt), I am tracking everything, relate to the # on the scale as a tool to assess what's working and what's not working and feel great. I am proud to have lost 30% of my excess weight and can't believe what has gotten accomplished in the past two months!!!!! Life is a privilege!

I love NSV's My list: 1. Pants 10 inches smaller in the waist, 54 to 44 Levi 501 button fly!! 2. No seat belt extender on airplanes 3. Not the biggest person in the room 4. Fit comfortably in the seat at an arena Hockey game 5. XL shirts vs 3 XL shirts 6. Briefs feel good, instead of baggy boxers. 7. Watch is real loose 8. Sit a long way back from the steering wheel and can now drive holding the bottom of the wheel. 9. Able to climb a ladder without worrying it will collapse. 10. Punching holes in my belt to keep it fitting. Added 5 holes to my favorit belt. Tons more but those are my favorites... TJ

CONGRATS ON YOUR NSV!!! I love NSVs! I think they mean more to me than the number on the scale. My latest NSV happened last week when my 11 y/o niece came for a visit. I haven't seen her since Christmas Eve. When she first saw me, she stopped dead in her tracks and said, "Whoa! You got skinny!" Here are a few of my other NSVs that have happened along my journey so far: 1) no more diabetes or cholesterol meds 2) blood pressure meds cut in half 3) went from a tight size 28 to a comfortable size 20W 4) went from a 44D to a 40DD  5) can't wear any of my rings b/c they are too loose 6) walking and bicycling regularly 7) food budget cut waaaaay down 8) no need for a nap everyday after work 9) don't have to use the stand up tanning bed b/c I am too heavy for the regular beds 10) feeling comfortable w/ my body after a VERY long time of not even being able to stand to look at myself in the mirror I wish you all the success in the world with your new BANDED LIFE!

You are still on liquids; it is pretty normal. You will probably plateau for awhile, or lose slower once you start eating. Once you start excersing again, your clothes might get looser before you show scale loss! Good luck, Karen...We call that NSV, non-scale victories.

Today I am 2 weeks post-op and I am wearing a pair of jeans that haven't fit me since this time last year! I have another NSV but it's kind of TMI

Tomorrow afternoon I will be interviewing for a chance at a GIGANTIC promotion. Although I am totally qualified for the position, I wouldn't have dreamed of throwing my name in the hat 3 months ago. The weight-loss and ability to control my eating has given me that much confidence. Part of me is terrified but another part is so grateful that I've found the confidence to pursue these opportunities I've let pass for too long. Getting the call that I made it to the interview stage is one NSV, actually facing the THIRTEEN member interview panel will be another. Actually getting the job? Beyond my wildest expectations! To those contemplating this surgery, I would say that the greatest benefit to this surgery beyond the weight loss is the confidence and self assurance you find on the other side.

So, whenever I would get out of the shower, I would wrap the bath towel around me backwards, leave the back open because it didnt fit, of course....unless it was a beach towel. Well, yesterday I decided I would try to wrap and tuck the towel, see how far I was from being able to wear a bath towel out of the shower...IT WRAPPED, and IT TUCKED..and it was CLOSED!! NOT A BEACH TOWEL, A REAL BATH TOWEL! LOL! I felt normal for once! I am also excited to announce that I bought a few dresses from Old Navy and of course I go STRAIGHT to XL. Well, they are WAY too big! L is even a little too big. I bought 3 in L and 1 in Med, the Med FITS!! I would like to lose 10 more before I wear the med...just to feel a little more comfortable. I have had to purge my closet AGAIN, I am running out of clothes! But it is great going shopping! I almost got emotional in Old Navy. My head still hasnt wrapped around the weight loss. That is my only hold back. I don't always see the 70 lbs gone.

So I am getting ready for work this morning....98 lbs down..
**IP~LB** posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi All So I am getting ready for my work day and I had to run back to my bathroom to get something I forgot. I got a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I did a double take. So I snapped a picture. I was at my moms and she gave me the picture on the left. My jaw dropped. I was 317 or more in that picture. I can't even believe I let someone take that picture of me. I was definitely anti-pictures. I realized that before I had lapband surgery in Dec of 2012 that I had actually lost 40 lbs on my own. Needless to say I am very very pleased that I had this surgery performed. I have been keeping my calories under 1200 a day and been working out 4 plus times a week. 58 more pounds to go to my ultimate goal. I would like to lose 6-8 pounds a month to reach my goal. The more weight I lose and the better I feel in my clothes the more motivated I get to eat cleaner and cleaner. Not just stay under my calories but make every calorie count! Hope everyone is doing well today. I had a couple of NSV's this weekend and am proud of myself and I wanted to share Take care, Reen -
While I've had several NSVs, nothing was more meaningful than this one. I started at a dance studio last year 2 months before I had surgery, and returned a few months post surgery. Last month I participated in the filming of a promo video for the studio. It can be found on YouTube by searching ShakeItLatinStyle PreRoll. The studio is in Mill Creek WA. I've attached the link, I'm not shown much but I'm wearing a purple tank top - short hair in the back corner. The very idea that I am actually LIVING life instead of watching from the sidelines is great accomplishment!
