I think I hit the 3 week stall. Just have to continue what I am doing, and I will work myself out of it. Wish me luck.

Trust me, it is. I also was sent home off my diabetes meds, which is the reason I did the surgery in the first place honestly. The gain is from all the gas they put in you and the swelling; you will drop. I lost 21 lbs. in 21 days ...then stalled. Be prepared for the "3 week stall", I'm sure I've broke it but haven't weighed yet. Try to only weight once a week so you don't go nuts; I might weigh once a month. Good luck and hope you recover quickly.

So I am 4 weeks post op, and have lost a total of 25.6lbs since the beginning of my journey. Believe me, I am happy with weight lose so far and thought that things were going great, and then I hit the dreaded 3 week stall. I had 6 weeks off, but I only took 4 (going a little stir crazy in the house). Went back to work on Monday (I have a desk job), so far so good, a little tired today but glad to be back at work. I have increased my calories and making sure I am getting in 70g of protein. Hoping that now I am back at work & back into my daily routine that I will break through this stall.

Yes I heard of the 3 week stall I've been in the same weight for 2 weeks I just don't want to eat the wrong things or take it to fast I guess I was a bit discouraged because the scale won't go down and I thought maybe it's because of what I'm eating

@@mishelcrz88, I've read a lot on here about the dreaded 3-week stall. That might be what you're experiencing right now, too.
-
How did you get past it? I know part of my issue is protein intake. I can't eat much at a time so it's hard to get it all in. I also am running out of ideas for breakfast. I just started some solids this week (fish, tuna, canned chicken, etc). I am not complaining at all...I am down 20 pounds which is amazing but I want to make sure I am doing everything I can to lose and still follow the plan! I didn't have the surgery just to find ways to cheat so any suggestions on the right way to kick start the weight loss again?

SleevedNFree replied to funkley's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Thanks for sharing your story. It helps for those of us who have gone through it to share this level of detail so others can learn. That's how I got my insight and understanding. I was sleeved on March 4th and my story closely aligns with yours. So grateful this journey has gone so well - down 44 pounds so far, but hit that infamous 3 week stall, but expect to start losing again. Keep up the good work and much success to you as you continue this awesome journey! -
Hormones And Emotions
titania1215 replied to Amanda41's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 1/2 months out and yes it does happen. This whole week I have been super emotional. I had a 3 week stall and then dropped 10 pds in 2weeks so I think that has a lot to do with it. It will pass I promise...and even with the emotional rollercoasters I am soooooo happy with my decision!! -

Search for the 3 week stall in the forums. It is a VERY common occurrence. Just stick to your program and stay off the scale if you need to. -
In a stall and FREAKING OUT!
Butterthebean replied to Lauren610's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have hit the inevitable 3 week stall. Read the link in my sig. It will help explain why. Don't worry about it. It will break on its own very soon. Most people go through this. -
I don't get how this is possible. I'm 5 weeks post op, and I'm eating between 500-700 a day. I'm getting my Protein and Water and all that jazz. I've been at the dreaded "3 week stall" since June 5th and since then I have gained 6 pounds. What is going on???? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Help :(
DisappearingDivis replied to Shelly-NO-Belly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try not to worry. I had the same problem with my water intake. It was either one or the other but hard to do both. But as time has passed I've gotten better at getting it all in. As for the stall. No worries most of us went through the "3 week stall". It sucks because it really messes with your mind but try not to worry too much. In time it will get better. Good luck! -
I'm 13-days post op. I lost 19-pounds during the 2-week prep liquid diet. In the first 10-days I dropped 16-pounds putting me below 300 for the first time in a year. Then, after I shared my news, I was back up to 301. I weighed today and I'm at 300. I don't eat the fruit or the shake, but I do drink Isopure No Carb 40 every day. I'm a little bummed to, but I keep hearing about the 3-week stall. All I know for sure is that everyone on the sleeve loses weight if they stay away from the junk that got us here in the first place. We can't fail. It's physically impossible. Our bodies do have to get used to the "new normal," so try to hang in there and trust the doctor and all those who have successfully gone before us. Sounds like you've lost and kept off over 30-pounds! Congratulations! Let's support each other in what we have lost and how great that feels!

Dear 3 week stall..
Rebel replied to itscometothis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. I hate the 3 week stall. $#@!%^&$$# -
I suppose I'm just looking to share with others in my shoes. I'm 6 wks out today. I hit the dreaded 3 week stall I assume because the scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks. That's a long ass stall! I just got home from a business trip in Vegas. My plan allows for crab meat and baked fish at this point and I figured I could share with my husband. It was SO much harder than I anticipated. I had the expected difficulties with wanting to eat steak and all the other wonderful things that got me to bariatric surgery. I did not expect that I couldn't eat anything!! My stomach is not ready for fish or crab. I tried two bites, chewed well and hurt for hours. I was so discouraged. I had protein bars packed and ate those, but I really struggled to get any significant protein or calories in. I wanted to cry. I was so mad at myself for having this surgery! All this and the damn scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks! How do you not lose weight on 600 calories a day max? Then I went to the spa for a massage. And for the first time in years, I was able to wear the regular robe out the locker. The attending didn't have to discreetly get me a "different robe." Such a small thing, but it made such a big difference in my attitude. I wish my sleeve was healing faster. I wish I could tolerate a larger variety of foods. But, I know its going to get better. And it's going to be worth it.

Finally Hit My 3 Week Stall And An Nsv!
Lilee84 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At almost 7 weeks I finally hit my 3 week stall! Am I concerned about it? Nope! Because I know that it's normal and temporary and that this is my body's way of catching up with my almost 40lb loss! So while the scale may not be moving, my pants are starting to REALLY sag. That sounds like a kick-ass NSV to me! -
I didn't know about the dreaded "3 week stall" until seeing it on various posts. It happened to me when I went on pureed diet stage (for me that was at 3 weeks). Discouraging, but "This too shall pass". Stepping up my exercise hoping that helps. Also having to take Miralax, issues with not "going" without it. @ a weight loss stalll Help!
Kiap82 replied to Juicyjae7221's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Search the forum for the 3 week stall and you'll find hundreds of posts. Stick with your plan and don't freak out. It probly more normal to have the three week stall than to not have it. You'll be fine. This too shall pass. -
This is normal. Google the science behind the 3 week stall. It’s the same concept. You had your 2 week diet before surgery (usually) and then you lost a LOT of weight that first week. Your body is balancing out fluids and it will kick back into gear after however many days it takes. Stick to the plan. Don’t cheat. You’re going to see it drop soon. Promise

Was finally able to up my calories and my 3 week stall broke. I was eating 100 grams of protein and 600 calories with no movement. Diet is 63 percent protein now and I get 800 calories. Found the sweet spot!
