Sleeved June10th 2015 and STILL at a stall!

Thank you. I was expecting the 3 week stall that everyone was talking about but mine started early and hasn't let up. The link was helpful as well. I find myself hurrying to bed in hopes that I'll wake up and see a pound loss :/ I'll just keep riding it out and try and up my water intake.
  2. Unfortunately you are going through the 3 week stall. Your body is going through a resting phase. I guarantee that one day you'll get on the scale and you'll drop like 5 lbs, because that's what happened to me. I hate stalls, but I guarantee you're losing inches though, even if the scale isn't moving. Hang in there your doing great. 19 lbs is awesome!
  3. ok can anyone help me, I haven't read a ton about stalls after the first 3 week stall which lasted almost 3 weeks for me now i am on another stall at 2 months, and i have been stalled for 2 weeks, what is going on?

    Stalled at two weeks out..

I am 3 weeks post op and have not lost a single pound over the last few days but I'm not worried. I was prepared for the 3 week stall so I am just sticking to the plan and enjoying the changes that I am noticing in my body. We will both move past this stage and continue losing. Stay positive and follow ur plan and you will do great!
  7. To be honest, I wish I could get in a bit more than 500 calories but I get full very fast. And the gas pains are not pretty lol Unfortunately, I'm in the dreaded 3 week stall. And to make it worse, I keep gaining weight which is annoying. Granted, it's just 2 pounds, and then I lose the 2 pounds, and then it goes back. Its really stressing me out though. Anyone else going through this? Any advice to maintain the weight loss instead of me keep gaining?

    WL @ 1 month post-op?

I lost 21 pounds in the pre-op, 5 pounds the first week, and then hit a near 3 week stall after that. Luckily now at 8 weeks post-op I haven't had another stall *fingers crossed*

    Twohundredtown!

Congratulations everyone! My first big goal post surgery is to get below the 250's and I've hit the dreaded 3 week stall... grrr... I hope it doesn't last long. I've been stuck at 253 since last Friday. 500-700 calories per day. The past 2 days I've been trying to get up to 800 calories per day to switch it up.

    Menstrual maddness!

@@snowkitten thank you so the comment. That put me at ease now. It's like I'm on a never ending period on top of the 3 week stall I read so many people are having . Lol the ultimate combo of horror

I'm stick and I'm losing hope!

Thanks for the article. I know it's just temporary and I should probably keep track of inches as well as pound so I don't go CRAZY. It's funny, my mind knows the 3 week stall is a real thing, but my emotions are stir crazy ping through it. :-)
  12. You look amazing!!! Any tips? What have you been doing to make your weight loss awesome like it has been?I've done a lot of walking! At least 3 miles a day 5-7 days a week (depending on weather). And I've stuck with the plan, mostly Protein foods. I rarely eat any carbs (mostly a cracker to go with my cheese snack or a slice of whole grain toast for breakfast (this is rare). I don't think I get all my protein in - that's a daily battle. I'm going to try going back to my protein shake though and see if that helps. Loved them before surgery but afterwards I couldn't stand them. I never had a 3 week stall. I stalled one time for 10 days (due to weather and other things I didn't get to walk a lot which didn't help). But I also know I've done some things not right - occasional glass of wine - so I'm far from perfect. I honestly think I've just been very very lucky.About how many calories were you getting daily? I honestly have no idea. I eat an egg or string cheese for breakfast, then salad, grilled chicken, turkey hotdog or turkey sausage for lunch and dinner. This is what most of my meals look like. I have a snack of cheese with a cracker or some fruit. We do a lot of grilling out so I'm not sure what I'll do when it's winter. Ha! My goal this month is to get my protein up. everything has been going so smoothly with weightloss that I'm afraid to change anything up!
  13. What can I do to start the scales moving again? I have not really lost any numbers on the scale in a week & I have been walking two times a day????. Ready for them to start moving again, I have about another 40-50 lbs to get rid of.

  15. Monthly. Otherwise I get scale obsessed and it makes me crazy. The good thing is I probably missed my 3 week stall because I only weigh once a month. Instead I try to focus on eating well and exercising daily.
  16. Heck no! You are doing great! If you stay on this forum very much, you will see the dreaded "3 week stall" talked about daily. I hit it at 2 weeks, others at 4 or 5 weeks. Just part of the process. I am a daily weigher but I will not allow the scales to dictate my day. Many suggest weighing yourself weekly. Just be sure you are getting your required amounts of protein and water and you will see the scales moving in the right direction before too long. Frustrating - yes! Lesson in patience and discipline - Yes! Just keep up your great work!
  17. Just hang in there...that's the best advice. When in your life have you ever lost 2 pounds a day? You are still healing and the weight loss will come but in time. Vent away but e more days is not so long. You may also be in the 3 week stall so I would recommend at this early stage to take your measurements. Stalls are common and will happen from time to time you have those measurements and you take them monthly, you WILL see change even when the scale isn't moving. Don't become obsessed with the scale, hard to do but you can do it. Good luck!

Nice going! Broke through my own 3 week stall and have lost about 4#. Like you, hoping the next stall is way off.

    How to be Successful?

I love posts like this. No matter how many times I read them, I always learn something and they motivate me to stay on track. I'm not sure there's anything I can add that hasn't already been mentioned. I was half crazy during my 3 week stall but I got past it and started losing steadily and now it's a distant memory. It will be a distant memory for you too. There is one thing. Every time my weight loss slows, I look at my carbs. Those things will sneak their way into your diet so easily that you won't even notice. I clean my diet up and the weight starts dropping again. @@Rogofulm You are my hero, loved your advice. I follow most of that now, especially the beef Jerky. I buy it like I used to buy potato chips. I really should have bought stock in Jack Links.

I'm stick and I'm losing hope!

Take a deep breath. I see that you have posted 56 times so you are not new to this site. I know you know that you are ripe for the "dreaded 3 week stall". Unlike every other "diet" you have tried, this is not an excuse to say f it and soothe yourself with food. Relax, follow protocol and look for the article so many post on why we experience a stall. You are cared about and certainly, not alone. I began my stall after my 2nd week and have lost only 2 pounds since for a grand total of 10 pounds post surgery. It is 10 pounds I don't have to play Uber with any more!

    May sleevers

Finally broke through an almost 3 week stall and have lost 3# in two days. Hoping it keeps up.
  23. Hi! Is there anything you guys suggest to be successful after WLS? I really want to lose 85% of my excess weight, which is higher than the average loss from VSG. I was wondering if anyone here can give me a list of things to aid in my success. Not just the basics: fallow your plan, don't eat a lot of carbs, drink water and exercise. Is there anything else you guys suggest to do, specifics? I would love to hear from some successful sleevers. I am kind of bummed out lately cause I have been in the dreaded 3 week stall. I will be a month out tomorrow, but I have been stalled for almost 2 weeks!!! I am trying to keep my hopes up though and plan for success. Please give me some ideas!!!!

  25. That certainly can be discouraging. I lost a 30 lbs. in the first 4 weeks and then hit a 3 week stall. Bottom line, there is no reason for concern unless it is 3 lbs in 6 MONTHS! Focus on your surgery recovery and make sure you are getting your walks in! It will happen.
