  1. I had a check-up with my PCP today. What is awesome is that I no longer dread getting on the scale and no longer get the "you need to lose weight" lecture. My PCP is thrilled with my progress!
  2. Ok. not really. but I always assumed I might have gotten a lil shorter because years ago I went from 34 to 32 inch inseam on my pants. This is a NSV because i need to go back to 34 inch inseam because I can wear my pants higher up my waist, where they should be.
  3. I used to be 5'6" but after I gained weight I was 5'5.5" due to the fact that the padding on my backside made me lean back a bit, thus appearing shorter. I am back at 5'6" when I got measured today! Woohoo! :smile2:

Brandi Congratulations on your NSV. I can really relate to you when you say that you hate to shop becuse you hate all of the clothes. I can't wait until I go into a store, try on a dress and say "it looks good on me" rather than ...well...it's on me.

    Wierd NSV's

Yeah, seems like I would always have the smallest attendant on the planet pushing my fat a$$ down the hall in a chair or gurney too. It must be a cinch for them now. Yeah, mine used to be as big as a tent and I still had a breeze in the back! It was embarrassing having to wait while they fetched the "special" gowns for me. I always hated this, I had a stress test last sumer, they had to put the cuff on my forearm because they couldn't find the jumbo cuff - and I KNOW it doesn't work right there. Makes me wonder if the entire test was even remotely correct using it there. Great NSV's - keep 'em comin'!

    OMG! NSV!

I wanted to share a NSV! I have been going to my chiropractor for about 6 years, however, I haven't been there since a week before my sleeve surgery (Surgery was Dec 11th 2013)... Anyway... When the Dr came out of her office to greet me (I was the only one there) she looked at me, then looked around, then looked at me & said to me "I'm sorry I was looking for someone else.." I gave her a big Smile & said "how are you?" she looked back at me & said "OMGoodness - I was looking for you, but you weren't the "YOU" a was looking for... WOW you look amazing, I didn't even recognize you - You look so happy!!" Such a great feeling!!!!

    OMG! NSV! NSV! ????????????????????????

The unexpected NSV's are still the best! Congrats!
  9. I so get it. It's those unexpected NSV's that help you see this is working.
  10. My hubby took me to breakfast this morning. We hardly eat out since surgery. I had on jeans ( MY FIRST NSV I HAD WEEKS AGO ) so I casually CROSS MY LEGS UNDER THE TABLE WITH JEANS ON!!!!!!!! AND I HAD ROOM BETWEEN THE TOP OF MY LEG & THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TABLE!!!!!!! I was in shock!!! I SAT there staring at my leg!! My husband asked me what was wrong, I told him I can't believe I just crossed my leg under the table comfortably with jeans on!! I have wanted to cry!!! I was so happy!!!!! I didn't want to leave the restaurant I was so excited I haven't done that in years!!!!!!!!
  11. Love it! I have a fitness bucket list too! I'm celebrating by getting charms for my fitness NSV bracelet. It's better than celebrating by eating something and it's a reminder that I can accomplish anything. So far: Plumeria flower: Maui half marathon, charm: OKC memorial half, Ragnar logo: Ragnar Miami to key west relay, and tiara: Disney Princess half. Lots of items left on my bucket list but I'm taking a break for plastics.

    LOL rant... Well not really

I could easily be obessed by daily numbers. I have been known pre-band to weigh myself 10 times a day. I have vowed to only weigh in at my monthy dr's appointments and am looking at NSV's inbetween. Then I'm not frustrated when the doc says " you've lost 6 lbs this month" I can be happy. If I had weighed daily, 6 pounds per month can seem like so little, but seems glorious if you weigh only weekly or monthly.

    Unexpected Surprise!

    Hey everyone... What's an NSV?
  14. Now THAT is an NSV! WTG Sharon! I love cords, but for the same reason never wore them. I think I may have to do just that LOL.

    I'm starving!!

Just try to keep the eye on the prize. You knew going into this your food intake was going to be lessened. Hunger pains is definitely something most of us were not familiar with going in, however, we all have plenty of reserves to live on for quite some time. This too shall pass, my dear... with a fill, you'll begin seeing benefits of the weight loss and your body and mind will begin to adjust to the difference in the way you feel too. I guess the biggest NSV for me since being banded is the fact that I never have that 'gorged' feeling of fullness anymore, especially at bedtime at night. I can lie down without feeling stuffed and miserable. After awhile, it actually feels GOOD to be empty..
  16. NSV my teenage son told me he could visibly tell I had lost weight! Down 14lbs Stall broken today!!! Kattrax421B.Com Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy, and taste good with catchup!

    Recently noticed a NSV

Great news, great NSV ! Congrats !!!
  18. One of the things that has happened to me with loosing weight is that I no longer just completely and utterly HATE myself. So the other day my dad was playing around with his phone and I noticed him holding it up like he was going to take a picture of me. So I just smiled and he took the picture. Then this happened: dad: "wow" me: "what?" dad: "you actually let me take your picture" and then it hit me. Before, if I ever saw someone pointing a camera/phone in my direction I would put my hands up or walk away or just say please don't take my picture. I couldn't stand someone taking a picture of me but now I didn't even think about it, just smiled for the camera
  19. I had the surgery 2 days before you and get the stall every week since week 4 but the scale is still moving down of course slower than the first month. I got discouraged at first, but then when the stall started to be the regular lol I just started to appreciate the NSVs, I went to all clothes in the closet, some were totally tight pre-op and now it's loosing. Got a new haircut, try some new makeup and bought accessories. I don't want to but new clothes now, still enjoy the loosing gap between my body and the clothes size 14-16 and even some model in size 12 . I think I might be able to fit into size 12 now but I'm not ready to try the new clothes just yet, I'm still high on this NVS lol. Also please check if you have enough calories intake, the stall always visits when I do over exercises because I cannot really eat more for the portion and I'm too scared of carbs and high callories food. I started to tone up the body with basic yoga & light weight lifting when I cannot go for a walk. Seem like I didn't lose many inches neither at least in the passt 2 weeks but my clothes are more loosing. I guess it just shrinked down into shape. It's amazing how our body works!
  20. You are less than 2 months out and not even close to done losing yet. It will take months, even a year or two. That's a long time to freak out each time you step on the scale. So tell your hubby to hide the scale and enjoy his attention instead! Keep a log of NSV's instead...way more fun and rewarding than numbers.

    Question Of The Day Tuesday

LOL! Where do I start? I will start with my vanity NSVs: I can wear Hi Heels again!!! I shop in the regular sections now, NOT PLUS SIZE ANYMORE! No one mistakes me for being pregnant anymore. My DH complements me all the time! My clothes are so Much cuter! Non vanity: I can see my feet!! I can buckle my shoes, I can paint my toes without struggling. I am an inspiration to members in my family that are now considering VSG. I can move so much more comfortably. I can fit in airline/stadium seats. No more back pain!
  24. I Was told yesterday by a co worker that I was dwindling away!! I just smiled and said "and I'm ok with that" ???ƒ
