It's great that you have set up mini goals for yourself. As you get started and see how it goes you may refine these even further. Just remember to Celebrate EVERY pound you lose as another pound you will never have to see again. Also be sure to give yourself space if something happens that throws you off for a day or two. I have found that the worst thing I can do is to beat myself up for not achieving my goals at the exact moment I set in time. This journey, while it is about acheiving goals, is also about celebrating successes and motivating your permanent life style changes. What have you put in place as rewards for yourself? Also, try to come up with a list of NSV to measure as goals also. for me, the first huge NSV was not needing a seat belt extender on a plane. Take a look at this article and see if it makes some sense for you Reflecting On Victories Throughout My Lap Band Journey.

Yay! Down 32lbs since surgery Nov 7th and I just went to my hairdresser and wasn't disgusted having to look at myself in her mirror for an hour.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty remarkable. I have had NSV's but none so frightening and so wonderful at the same time....LOL

that is a major NSV! congrats -
So I am only 2.5 weeks post op and incredibly frustrated because the scale is moving soooo slow and not at all since Monday, however I put a sweater on today that I bought in October and it was too tight to wear. Today it is loose so 🤷♀️... guess I just have to trust this process and try not to obsess and stay off the damn scale for a while. Ugh !

I am only 36 pounds lost and I had several NSVs on vacation. First the seat belt on the plane was very loose and not tight like normal. Second, I rode on roller coasters for the first time in years because I wasn't scared I wouldn't fit. And third, I saw pics of me in a bathing suit and didnt cringe;) Ready for the next 36!!!!!!

Hey Julie ... congrats... another great NSV! I too have started to wear belts with my trousers and jeans... it is saving me a fortune in new clothes too! Especially when I was in between sizes. I am hoping that one day I can wear one, like you, for 'fashion' and to pretty up an outfit!! -

What an awesome nsv! Thanks for sharing. -
Awesome NSV! I know exactly how you feel. This morning I brought a size 18 petite into the change room by mistake (was reaching for the 20's). I tried them on and they fit! Of course I had to buy them! At Christmas I was a size 24. I still cant believe that my body is getting smaller.

what type of scale do you use?
GenaW828 replied to GenaW828's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks Guys!! I don't go back to the doc till June and I want to be close to 250 by then. Maybe unrealistic but I'm also going on a cruise at the end of June and want to look cute (I'm already cute just more cute ) so that's why I'm kinda stressing about the numbers...I have had NSV I can get in a size 22 and i haven't been in that since i was 18 so YAY for that. -
Fantastic! Well done! I reckon those athletic NSV's are the ones that truly show you how far you've come.

I'm in the same boat as BroadwayBaby. Little-to-no weight loss, but little-to-no effort or discipline on my part. It will come back. Life has been throwing me some awesome NSV's. I decided I had some decent enough pictures of me at this lower weight that I was willing to put some on match.com. I met an awesome guy about a week into that, and here we are, blissfully happy 2 months later. In the same time period, I managed to score an interview with an awesome company. Their interview process was long (five interviews!) but it all worked out in the end, and I start my new job on Monday!! I've been working a dead-end job for the last 4 years while I tried to figure out my next career path, so this is just a really awesome opportunity that I'm really excited about. Oh, and my pay will be doubling! I know these aren't directly related to the number on the scale, but neither one would have been possible 9 months ago. I needed the self-confidence and increased energy that came along with losing 50 pounds. I still have another 50 to lose, and I need to refocus on that, but I'm just so happy to have my life looking totally awesome right now. -
Congratulations to you!! That's a fantastic NSV, and I bet it did feel fabulous!

Congrats on such a great NSV!!! Had one myself last week. I tried on an old leather jacket that my dad couldn't wear AND it fit! Size large - I haven't fit into a size large since junior high. -
Are we "live" now? Slow as molasses now known as Over 55?
fezik23 replied to It's Allgood's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found you guys! I get lost on this site sometimes, and it depends on whether I'm on my phone, ipad or computer. I just posted today that my NSV was doing my own pedicure. Not great, but done. I have a lot of arthritis in my left knee, so that foot is hard to do. Lindalue, when is your surgery scheduled? -
Today, something happened to me that I thought would never happen. I was called a gym rat, because I chose to go 6 days a week instead of 5. I love it! It's better than being called fat.

Having one of 'those' days
readysetg070113 replied to backpacking5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the post above and the great thing about this forum is we have been there and understand. I'm only 2 months banded and I still have that worry despite my loss and NSV. I'm so afraid I will fail at this but I stay within my dietary guidelines and try and exercise 4-6 a week. When I have the o crap moments I log on here and just read and read ... We are here for you I am here for you. It's a new journey which is very scary ... But I believe will be worth it.
