    One stinking lbs. and NSV's

Ok so I'm so close to Onederland that it is killing me. I am a frequent weigher, I weigh everyday that's just something that I do. So I thought that instead of obsessing over that 1 stinking lb, I could make a list of NSV's that I'm happy about, maybe that would make me feel better. So, here it goes: 1. I can fit in the booths at the diner that we go to, no more taking the table just because I could'nt breath in the booths. 2.I can slide the seat in the car all the way up and everything fits just fine. yeah! 3. I can fit in the smallest size hand-me-down clothes that my sis gave me when she lost weight. 4.Now everyone at work is starting to tell me that I look good, have lost a lot of weight. 5. I can wear my grandmother's heirloom ring, it fits me now. 6. I can wear necklaces again and not look like a walrus in a tie! 7. I actually have a neck now, it's amazing. 8. I tried on coats in Wallyworld in the regular size dept, and they fit! 9. I walked around the fair for 6 hours, was not out of breath, didn't have to sit down every 10 minutes and my feet didn't hurt. 10. My singing has improved, I can hold a note a lot longer than I could before, I guess my lungs needed the room to expand that the fat was taking up. Woo-hoo, I am feeling good, OK you 1 stinking lb, you are going to be history!!!!
  2. Raise your hand if you have ever had to bend forward or look to the side when weighing yourself because BOB (big old belly) was in your way. Yeah, I thought so! Me too, except this morning when I got on the scale to do my daily weigh in, I looked straight down and saw my numbers. I tell ya, even though the numbers didn't reflect what I wanted, the action sent me over the moon and damned if I didn't work 10x harder in my Fitness Kickboxing class this morning. I think this is one of my favorite NSV or is it an SV LOL either way when I realized what I was doing I almost cried.
  3. I was feeling pretty down the past week or so. The scale isn't moving, Protein and Water not where they need to be, and still feeling pretty wiped out. I finally decided to go into my closet and try on a few pair of pants I bought but never fit into. And much to my surprise....they fit with no problem!! 2 sizes smaller too! :-) Then I decided to step on the scale and it finally moved! Only a pound but none the less....it moved! I think I am finally realizing that the weight will come off at its own pace and that I have to throw my expectations of how much I should be losing out the window! This is not a sprint!!! It is going to be a lifelong journey. It really doesn't matter how long it takes does it? Slow and steady will win my race. I am ready to embrace this thinking!
  4. Well, I made it to my "goal" weight that I had set for when we went to Vegas last month. Yeah!! Plus, this was the first time in MANY years, that I did not need a seat belt extender for the flights! Yeah x 2!!! But, I have not done well since. With Vegas, Christmas, and a convention all last week, I haven't lost anything since then due to all the going and excellent restaurants we have eaten at. I HAVE NOT gained, but haven't lost either. I MUST get back on track, as we have moved up our South Africa trip from next year to this summer....so I desperately need to lose another 50 pounds (minimum) before then...that's my personal goal. So, starting today, I have gone back to drinking my shakes, and logging my intake....as I was pre-Vegas. I have also got to get back to exercising. We have one last deer hunt starting this Friday (which consumes ALOT of time), so I am hoping on Sunday/Monday, I will be back in full swing of things again. I have even thought about doing the liquid diet again for a week to get a jump start on things. I am now 3 months out and am noticing that I can consume a bit more than a month ago. Anyone else with the same??? I know that all the swelling and such is gone by this point...just wish I was that "tight" again!!! So, even though I was somewhat victorious, I need to be scolded to get back on track!!!!!
  5. Hi All, I havent been here for a while but thought I would come back in and share some things with you all. I am now 15 months post op and living a normal life. Ihave lost close to 160 pounds and while I am still classified as overweight for my height, I couldnt be happier with my body and shape...I have the curves I always wanted...now just to clear up the skin issues. I look great in clothes And it feels good to be able to say that. None of this didnt come without hard work and committment, the surgery is just a tool, the rest is pure determination. My friends recently did a video of my journey and the changes, motivations for doing it..a bit of a doco so to speak. I wanted to share it with you all. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Op0j3KfVsdc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Maybe it is some motivation for you, maybe you see yourself in it...but it is my story for now....

    Nsv!!

I fit into a Medium size pants today!! MEDIUM!! At a NORMAL shop!! Not the Fat Girl's Medium, a REAL medium!! OMG! *faints* AND I have a new man in my life, who is wonderful and hot and sexy and thoughtful and funny and smart and... and... and... *swoons* Life doesn't get any better!!
  7. Day 1 pic and today AND I just bought clothes at the gap and banana and they fit!!! And they weren't even the biggest size AND no one looked at me like I didn't belong AND no one asked me if I needed a gift receipt BIG DAY!!
  8. Lol! I've noticed how easy it is for me go up stairs at home. Sometimes may run up b/c I'm not out of breathe like the past. Congrats ok your NSV!
  9. I had two pairs of brand new jeans bought a couple years ago that sat in a drawer because they were too small. I finally pulled them out today and guess what? They are too big!!! I got down on the floor last night to look under the bed for something and popped right back up. I was like wow that was easy. I usually take several minutes getting off the ground. I cut my toenails the other night and realized I can just reach down and cut them no problem. It use to take forever just to get in a position to do that. I love love love my lap band!!!
  10. I am coming up on my 3 month post op date. I am down 30 lbs & feel great. The band had been one if the best decisions I ever made. I have beat myself up a few times during the journey due to losing 18 lbs pre-op & only 12 lbs post op. I hit bandster hell around 6 wks post op & just recently got my 2nd fill & am finally satisfied between meals. I have lost a lot of inches though. I have a scale obsession which completely owns me. (Yes, I know...stay away from the scales!) Well I tried, my husband even took the scales to my neighbors.....I sent my son to get them 3 days later. Holy smoke, I need to get a grip. Lol!!! I'm not beating myself up as much though. I have dropped 2 pant sizes so I keep reminding myself that the pounds aren't everything. One of my NSV was to be a size 12 which is only ONE size away!!!! Hallelujah!!!! Some ppl would die if they were a size 12 but that is my goal. I do want to lose 30 more lbs though. I keep telling myself that I am half way there, I've got this. I made it this far in Bandster hell surely the next 30 will be easier:) I'm posting a before & after pic. The before wad taken in Dec. (I began my liquid diet Jan 1st) the after pic was taken this past weekend.
  11. Sounds like alot of NSV's in your neighborhood! Good for you.

    NSV

Had an awesome NSV last week. Went on my first airplane since last year and did not have the issues I normally would have. Seatbelt did not have to be at its biggest, my body was not hanging over each side. The tray table did not touch my stomach. I was comfortable on the 2 5 hour legs of the trip. It was fabulous! NSV

I’m almost 7 weeks out from surgery. When I first started my weight loss journey last July I was a 2x and they were tight. At surgery I was a tight 1x. Today I bought some XL shirts. Woohoo!

    My very first NSVs!

I've been super frustrated with the scale for the past 3 weeks because that number hasn't been moving. But I just looked in the mirror and realized for the first time in my life that I have a real, honest-to-god neck!! I HAVE A NECK! It's not just extra chins anymore I feel like a freaking swan...it's silly, but I am off the wall thrilled. Also, you can see that I have a collar bone! I've also gone down 3 pant sizes since December, and consequently can now fit into my University's circa 1900's theatre seats!! I can now support my department without bruising my butt! Bonus. Getting sleeved was the best decision I have ever made.

    Nsv For Me!!!

Well after I had my fill last week I have felt much better about the outcome of this surgery! Ok anyway to get to my NSV. Today I got on the scale because I thought I had gained even though it wasn't my weigh in day(I lost 5lbs since Friday!) I bought a pair of pants in a 16 while I was wearing a twenty, and they fit, buttoned ok, but they are a little tight so I won't wear them yet! But it will be soon! Just thought you would like to know! -Kylie

    Excited for spring

Hello all - I'm so excited for spring! I found this great new website - Running in the USA - Welcome to Running in the USA - where they list all the races that are happening. You search by state and then the races are listed by month. I'm training for a triathlon and duathlon this summer/fall, and I'm hoping to do 1 - 2 races a month (just 5K or 10K) to help me get used to racing. I used to do these races about 6 years ago and always had a blast. Plus, now, I'm recruiting some of my friends to do them with me. The first 5K is on April 19th - it is called the Maple Syrup Run, and they serve a pancake breakfast afterwards. Although, I know from experience that pancakes don't work well for me with my band. But, it is working to get my friends out to the race. And, while I'm posting, I'll post a NSV - I was cleaning my townhouse and getting it ready to go on the market (I am relocating to another state for work). Anyway, someone was taking pictures, and in one of the pictures (taken from the back) I hardly recognize myself. In the picture, I don't think "that person" looks fat...but "that person" is me. Quite the revelation! Happy spring to all of you! Anna
  23. So I got dressed this mourning not realling paying attention to my underware just grabing any pair I found (That were clean). Then as I am waling around work thay keep falling down they just will not stay up, I wear baggy chef pants at work so my pants are not helping to keep them up at all and the pants have a low crotch so the underware are like hanging around my theighs, rather frustrating but kinda funny at the same time but I just have to look at the bright side that something that fit just fine the last time I wore them are falling off now, I am just happy it is not my pants at least I can hide this.Guess it is time to go shopping, Darn. I know kinda weird thing to talk about but I just had to tell some one and I clearly cant tell my employees I think they weould look at me like I had two heads.
