Maybe a TMI question but i need to know
kurby posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I'm very new here and have looked but can't figure out where to put this question so please move it if this is the wrong spot. I've decided to get the band done but not until August. we're going away for the month of July and having it done the second week of Aug would give me 3 weeks to recover before i have to head back to work in Sept. my problem is that my AF is very unpredictable because of my weight and i've never had surgery before so what happens if AF comes at the time of my surgery date? does this interfere with getting it done or do we just go ahead? sorry for the TMI and thanks for answering. -
I got up this morning and stepped on the scale as I do every morning. I weighed 235.6 which is six tenths of a pound from my next major goal of losing 50 pounds! Still have a bit to go. No worries. I continued to get ready and as part of that went to the bathroom. Without TMI, a lightbulb went off above my head and I weighed again. 235.2! Only 2 tenths away from my next goal! I almost wanted to cut off a finger. Ha! But then I realized that whether my scale read 235.6, 235.2 or 235.0 this morning, I still look the same this morning. My true goal is to feel better and to look better. That .2 will come off and when it does I will be very excited! But no frustrations, because things are moving steadily in the RIGHT DIRECTION! And that is what is important. I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!!

How Is This Even Possible
Catracks replied to Catracks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the people on this site too. You are all so courageous. Every one of you should be proud for being pro-active and meeting this horrible health issue head on. I am truly blessed to be recovering so well. I haven't had pain meds since the recovery room (I hated the morphine) and right now I have so much energy I feel like jumping up and down. My only small complaint is that I think I am constipated. I know there's not much to make a BM (TMI?) from, but I did cheat and have a bit (1/8 cup) of oatmeal yesterday and a tiny amount of flakey fish the day before. My sleeve handled it fine. My colon -- not so much. I wonder if Benefiber would do the trick. I don't want to take a laxative. -
Hey all, Not to sound nasty or TMI, but I have a serious question and wonder if you guys can help. I don't seem to be going to the bathroom enough... I'm not constipated per say, but it seems to me that it would be a lot healthier if I went more often. Before surgery, I didn't go to the bathroom terribly often.. maybe once a day or every other day... but now it's seemed to stretch out even more. I try to eat more Fiber, but I'm wondering if there are any supplements or anything else that would be recommended. I'm losing steadily, and I'm wondering if my digestive tract was functioning better if this would be a boost to my weight loss and over all health. Any suggestions or thoughts would be much appreciated! :smile2:

The BEST feeling in the world post op!
Renkoss replied to miss_smiles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely not TMI! I totally understand where you are coming from. Even after being married for 26 years, I'm still very self conscious of my body and all its lumps and bumps. My husband accepts me for who I am, but I've always been rather shy where my body is concerned. My husband has lost over 80 lbs in the last 4-5 years, and his body has certainly changed as well, but we accept those changes lovingly with each other, and being comfortable in your own skin is so very important. OMG October 2013 Post-ops
Cheryl_S replied to DevilBlueDress's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sorry for this being TMI, but how long have you gone between BMs? I've gained almost three pounds and haven't had a BM since....Sunday? I have 5g of fiber in my water 2x a day. -
Hi, females. I am 11 weeks post-op. My sex drive is nonexistent. I have none. It is starting to annoy my bf. Also, when I do the deed, I am in sooooo much pain because I am as dry as a bone. Anyone else experience this? In my 5 years of being sexually active, I have never had pain. Thanks!!

Did anyone have a problem with pop/soda?
Maddysgram replied to leannel90's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was told no carbonation ever and I quit cold turkey days before surgery. I only drank Diet Mt Dew. I was just thinking yesterday, how I wish I could reach ppl, how much better my life is without soda. My skin and my bladder are the biggest improvements. I used to have to pee (tmi) after just about half a can of soda. At night I would get up 4-5 times a night. But now even though I drink Water constantly, I can go 3-4 hours without having to go. My skin is so smooth and soft , none greasy. Like CG, when I hear someone pop a can of soda, for a minute I really would like one, but then I think I really like whats happening with my body and starting again is not worth it. Like someone else stated here, if you try one sip you will not like it and I truly believe that b/c even now Propel which I liked is even to sweet tasting now. I also found that sweets, artifical or not make me crave more sweets, so I limited my lo cal sweets, even my artifical sweets (Splenda) Just my observation and opinion. -
For TMI purposes if your urine looks like this. Tell your doctor. mine was almost brown.

Let's talk...Pre-op diet & your BM's 0.o
Megall9 replied to sassyfrass23's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Mine changed. I'm still pre op, but had to do a trial 2 week liquid diet to "work any kinks out" before meeting my surgeon to see what I liked and if I could handle it. I was in the same boat as you with issues going, and I was worried. I just made sure to drink more and more Water. At about day 12/13 everything changed and I had no issues anymore, and everything was soft. sorry for the TMI, but I hope it gets easier for you as well. -
K so I had gastric sleeve surgery on December 22nd. I am out of town for a bachelorette party. From eating spicy food and drinking my stomach is so torn up. I can't think about eating or drinking anything!!! HELP!!!! I got sick last night and have a feeling I'll be on the toilet most of today. I know TMI but I just need advice

I was sleeved on 8/21. After 8 days of no BMs, I called my doc about it and he told me to take some milk or magnesia. He said it would push the waste right out of me. I brought some expecting for it to work over night. It worked in less that 30 mins and I dropped 3 lbs to boot (TMI).

Surgery at 9am tomorrow 16th
Beautyandbeyond replied to Misty_eyes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad to hear that Misty! This question is a bit tmi but wanted to know if you woke up with a catheter or did your bladder wake up immediately. I've got anxieties about all of that! ugh -
I'm 6 days away from surgery & scared as heck!
girl4god77 replied to girl4god77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so I'm sorry to any guys in here and this is prob tmi but were any of you on your monthly cycle for surgery? At my pre-op they told me to stop my birth control b/c it could cause blood clots. But then said its ok if that starts my cycle. Cmon. Why didn't you tell me this a month ago so my body would get used to it. Of course I started yesterday (again) with cramps & all. It's heavy today so I doubt it stops overnight. I'm more nervous about this than the actual surgical procedure. Yuck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Hi, when I hit my third day of liquid diet, I have (have) diarrhea almost immediately after taking in any type of liquid. Today is the second day of this. Is this normal?

Dumping Syndrome
BabySpoons replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'd like to test that study on Thanksgiving when I eat a piece of pumpkin or pecan pie . Would the butter or crisco in the crust be enough I wonder??? LOL More than likely I won't test on that day since I would be too worried of having to run to the bathroom every 5 minutes. I don't dump on fried stuff I found out but I ate a piece of birthday cake once and I lived in the bathroom for the rest of the night. I don't get nauseous or sick, just goes right thru me. I know..I know. TMI. But we are talking about dumping so..... -
December 2010 Bandsters out there?
Jess55 replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Dave. I had looked it up online and found out about costco. I had been planning to go there to get my dogs eye meds anyways so I went today. I probably will try one tonight because I am very low on calories today. The thing about the carbs is like 29g of them comes from my fiber one bar that I have daily. (TMI warning) I have had constipation issues for many years and I've found they help a little, so I don't want to give that up, but I will cut out the other things. We'll see how this test goes. I may drink half the shake before my workout and 1/2 after. -
I am on a diet that consists of A Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch in 8oz milk 2 servings of fruit Lean Cuisine or Smart Ones for dinner Unlimited sugar/sodium free clears My question is, had anyone done a diet similar to this and if so, did the high protein cause you to be gassy or constipated. Big TMI... It's hard to tell if I am constipated because I had a bowel movement on Wednesday so I don't know. And my calorie consumption is only around 900 so I'm sure I don't have as much waste anyway. This is the first day I've had some discomfort. It's not terrible and I just took some Gas-Ex to see if it helps. Any input would be great...just curious to see what everyone else has experienced! Thanks!!!! Jordan

Anyone else on week one? I had my surgery last Tuesday and so tired of broth and jello. I’m so ready to move to the protein shakes, thicker soups, etc. I’m not hungry, but I do get a feeling like I should eat at regular meal times. I get thirsty as well in between. TMI but I have to run to the bathroom every time I have my broth. I’m an instant processor. I’m a little worried about going back to work on Monday and having that problem at lunch.

So I haven't had a regular period in years and for most of that time they were nonexsistant. But now with my weight loss I started a very lite period oh about two months ago and now in the past three days it is out of control. I have never had cramps or back pain like this and never ever so heavy. I haven't dealt with this in years and it's kinda freaking me out. Is this something that happens often with the weight loss?

Changes in my body since the sleeve
Used2b575lbs replied to Rev Me Up!'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Maybe TMI... I used to sweat so bad sleeping that the salts would stain my pillows a gross yellowish brown... Now I rarely sweat at all even while exercising it's such a great feeling and I am not as self conscience any more I know there were times when I was the stinky guy though few people ever said anything. -
Did you sweat less after surgery?
Kym Preslar replied to Nikkinee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 8 months out and I used to sweat really bad even in an air conditioned room. Now I don't sweat as bad but I have always been a sweater. This may be TMI but I used to sweat bad between my legs. Now I can go all day without my pants being wet. Loving it! -
ACK! I'm scared... last night I didn't get a chance to eat until 8:45, and when I did, I started wolfing down my food. I know, I know -- I forgot because I was so darn hungry! And sure enough, what happens? I got stuck (it was whole wheat pizza) and suddenly I had to make a mad dash to the bathroom to throw up. (sorry tmi) Why, oh why didn't I learn from the darn scrambled eggs two weeks ago???? I'm kicking myself. So now I'm doing liquids today, in hopes that I can avoid swelling. This just makes me realize how careful we have to be at all times! I was feeling SO good after my unfill, enjoying food again, and I let myself get too hungry and bam! Too big of bites, too fast, and I'm stuck, stuck, stuck. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Keeping my fingers crossed that I haven't caused any damage...
