  1. I am 22 days post op and today was the first day I went out and help feed our cows. We have an old farm truck and the seat doesn't move but it has always been fine for me. Well I get in and boom.. I can't see over the dash..I automatically get upset because someone obviously has messed with it. It took me awhile to realize..no one adjusted it...my behind just got smaller and I was no longer sitting on my self made pillow. My husband and I had a good chuckle over this. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Halfway!

A couple of NSV's: 1. I'm a little over halfway to my goal. So far, I've lost 83 pounds, my goal is to lose 147 lbs. Here's a pic to prove it! I was hanging out with my friends who were glancing through some old pictures and came across the "before" and there was a rousing round of "holy crap! you look so different now!" So we put together a little before and after and I was surprised to see what a difference there was. 2. I've been obsessed with dresses with pockets since junior year prom when I tried one on and couldn't afford it so I had to go with a different option. This weekend, I finally got my dress with pockets - over 10 years later! AND I got it from a regular department store (JCPenney) in the NON-plus size section. Thanks everyone for all the helpful info and encouragement to keep my head in the right space - and my body in a losing space! PS - Also just did my first Zumba class tonight! Fun times! And woah nelly - is an hour of high intensity aerobics a loooooooooong time!
  3. Back in 2008 I was on one of my diets, and I was 265 lbs, my aunt game me some clothes that were too big for her and she had hardly worn. In the bundle there was a pair of 18/20 Lane Bryant pant (95% polyester 5% spandex) that would not fit, fast forward 2011 and I am 380 lbs so I gave the pants to my grandmother. Back in the beginning of February my grandmother gave me the pants back, she said I haven't worn them but they look like they almost fit you. My grandma is a seamstress, and she had taken the pants in on the sides because they were too big for her, so I was skeptical, I thought she was looking at my behind with love and thought it would fit in those pants. Anyways, today I am looking for some business clothes and I found the pants in my drawer and I said let me see how much longer till they fit me. AND THEY WENT UP! All the way, they are super tight on me put they went up, I am guessing they are so tight because of the line of stitches running on both sides my grandma did for them to fit her. Why do I call them mystery pants? because according to my scale I am 277 and they fit, but when I was 265 back in 2008 they didn't fit! Doesn't matter what the scale says, I am a happy camper!!!!
  4. Im standing in the bathroom fixing my hair this morning and my 14 yr old son walks in, looks me over and say dang dad, what are you trying to do, get every 30-40 year old woman in town to chase after you?" :-)
  5. OMG, so before surgery and traveling, the hotel bath towels never fit around me.. maybe could get it to cover half of my body and hated it... after recently traveling a lot I got to the hotel took a shower and WHOA a towel fit all the way around with room to spare.. Thinking maybe this hotel just uses larger towels... I tested it at target, picking up a cheap regular sized bath towel and BOOOM same thing it fit around me! So to celebrate when me and my husband got home we got rid of all the large beach towels I used as bath towels... and bought new regular sized bath towels... Haha, who knew towels could be so exciting?!?!?

    Mini non scale victories :)

Remember these when the scale is not moving...the NSVs are very important!!! Speaking of shoes, my sandals are Birkies because I need the support, fortunately most of them have a buckle on them so I am able to tighten them up... I have to wear my wedding rings on my middle finger now... silly little things that make us smile... When I'm typing, I can look down at my hand and be reminded of what that middle finger ring thing really means

    New NSV - Shorts worn

Congrats on the NSV. A good self tanner that I would highly recommend is Jergens Natural Glow. It doesn't make you look orange, doesn't streak, doesn't smell bad. It Also has SPF 20 and is a moisturizer. I have had several skin cancer lessions removed so I have to be careful in the sun and this stuff is perfect. ~LA

    Sleep Apnea Questions

I was set on 15 as well and was told the same thing about my narrow airway. After 45 pounds they reduced the pressure. Getting off this thing is my #1 NSV. I hate this damn thing even though I feel much better after starting it a few months ago.
  20. MoOrLess

    Yay for me!

    NSV non surgical victories NEW

I have to fly allot and it used to be a shore. Some of my NSV are being able to walk straight down the isle without fear of hitting everyone with my hips or having to walk sideways. Another is not having to have a seatbelt extender. I also have a great big smile when I actually have to tighten it to fit. I also enjoy using the tray table since it does not hit my stomach any more and actually have to extend it.
  22. eggs were one of the toughtest foods for Frankesleeve to readjust to. Scrambled eggs seem to be a slider food for me, but hard boiled eggs are filling and I'm not able to eat as much. I didn't realize it at first, but chicken was one of the toughest things for me to digest. Congrats on your NSV and doing so well.

    !55 gone forever

I have maintained my weight at 175 for about a year! My high weight was 330. Today I am a size 12 (from a 26). My hips have gone from 58 to 38. I am more relaxed about my eating. I try to make good choices and usually do. The only thing I have to avoid is eating right before bed. This sometimes causes reflux or sliming and feels like my food has not digested at all in the morning, That aside I can eat everything in moderation. I usually use some sort of sauce with my meat. I still have to remind myself to eat small bites and to eat slowly. My most difficult challenge is to keep myself from eating when I am not really hungry. Today I had a huge NSV! I have practiced yoga for about 3 years. Today my instructor asked me to model some positions for others in the class. It is the athletic triumph of my life!!!! I have never been good at any physical activity but that is finally changing. We can do it!!!!!
  24. I can relate (I guess we ALL can!!!), today I went to the Harley-Davidson dealership just to see what was new in motorclothes. I tried on this jacket in the sale section, it was a 2x. Last summer there would be no way it would fit, it would've been too small. Today I could wrap the darn thing AROUND me!!!!! The salesgirl couldn't figure out why I was laughing to the point of tears! Normally I would have loved finding a pink leather jacket in my size, today I was laughing because there WEREN'T any in MY size, a large! NSV of a different sort!
  25. Along with buying new clothes and shoes, I "suffered" through another intolerable NSV yesterday. I took my wedding rings in to be resized since they were almost falling off daily. Resizing from a 7.5 to a 5.5 is gonna cost me $100.00. Waaaaah! This losing weight thing sure sucks! Lol!
