Yep Sandy - little things like cleaning house - walking up a flight of stairs - walking the mall - so much diff now adays Not working out tonite ;0) it's Thursday and it's against my religion to work out on Thursdays :0) - it's been my day off since I started exercising 3.5 yrs ago - OMG I have been exercising that long.... At 2:45 they send an email saying if our work is done we can go home at 3 - why didn't they say that 1st thing then maybe I wouldn't have goofed off in the morning LOL... My stuff was done - stayed till about 3:20 then went to post office to drop off QVC returns - then to Costco - OMG pple are pigs - they bring out food and pple rush to get it then just freaking stand there and eat it - they don't care that they are blocking the isle.. Saw a couple girls I know - Got lobster for tomorrow - asparagus - and Lemon Cooler cake - That's my new yrs treat.. will end up throwing it away - or maybe I'll freeze it and bring it out when the kids come at the end of Jan - but hell no they don't need it either.. In the trash it will go - will have a slice or 2 then will be done.. it's 65 in the house - just turned on the heater my feet are freezing... Food today... Brunch - ate omelet (egg beaters & 1 oz hamburger & salsa and green onions) around 10ish so wasn't hungry for lunch... Dinner - chicken on top of a green salad w/avocado & red onion - bolt house yogurt dressing (got rotisserie ck at costco) Snack ?? Had 2 cups of coffee when I got home - so might not have any.. Not working out tonite ;0) it's Thursday and it's against my religion to work out on Thursdays :0) - it's been my day off since I started exercising 3.5 yrs ago - OMG I have been exercising that long.... That's a 1st - a FANTASTIC NSV.... Karla - I would be pissed to if no one did anything - I would either yell or go and clean up and they would know that I wasn't happy w/them. Gall Bladder - ugh - well they could do both surgeries at the same time if it is... I had mine taken out in 85 when they still cut you open - but mine hurt me in my back and stomach in a funny way like a ball of dough stuck in it - didn't ever throw up - plus didn't have a band either... Phyl - How has today been - I hope better xooxo Well need to feed the dogs - cbl

    NSV!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great NSV!!! I bet you are just in heaven right now!!!
  7. My husband never, ever compliments me. He supported and continues to do so me in me weight loss surgery, helped me research spoke with the surgeon (he is a surgeon himself), supports me 100% in everything on this weight loss journey. Even when I used to be thin young and good looking he would never ever say anything, that's just the way he is and I love him regardless. He was concerned when I started putting on loads of weight, went with me to see the Psychologist who specializes in obesity but never pushed me about losing weight just because of the way I looked. Now that I'm near goal everybody says something about how happy and healthy I'm looking, he just says that he's happy thatI'm happy and that yeah, he can tell that I've lost a lot of weight and that sex is better now. Today I was asking what other drinks I needed to get for New Year's Eve, and he said something about "too much" I thought he was gonna say don't get too much or we've already got too much. He actually said (and it's a bad translation from spanish) that I have "too much of a nice figure now" He actually complimented me, I am wearing a new pair of jeans and a fitted top and was putting my coat on, and he actually said that I have a nice figure, I'm still in shock!!!!!!!!!

Sizzilng September Sleevers Monday Check In

Howdy September Sleevers!!! Another week... another check in!! I wonder where everyone is? It would be nice to see more posting here. Even if you can only post certain NSV's or just anything - all of it is GOOD and worthy of note!! Hey Julia, no big deal. I only lost one single pound this last week as well. Boy I've been really REALLY on point these last few days and was hoping and hoping for at least another to show up, but nooo... LOL It's ok - I'm 100% back on track now after the Holidays which I won't lie, I'm very glad to FINALLY be past them. I really need to make sure I hit goal before next September rolls around!!! It's always been so hard for me to be good and lose weight, much less maintain during this time of year. So that was me, I lost one pound, which is great!!! But the super good news is I'm back on track and feeling VERY determined. I had some awesome NSV's over this weekend so that one pound loss was added to other things. I'm just *this* close to fitting a pair of pants I haven't fitted in since I was a teenager! WOW!!! I just LOVE MY SLEEEEEVEEEE!!!!!!!! Until next week SS'ers!!!
  10. I've been on high blood pressure meds for several years, and generally have managed to keep my numbers within reasonable limits ~125/95 or so, sometimes a bit higher. I've been taking two different meds to get those numbers down to that level. So then I was banded a bit over three weeks ago. I've dropped a chunk of weight. Yesterday was my first day back at work since surgery. I found myself feeling unfocused and a bit lightheaded. It occurred to me that maybe my blood pressure was too low, due to the changes in my weight, diet, and the two meds I've been taking for it. I checked my blood pressure and found it was down to 101/63. Yikes! I contacted my PCM doctor and asked her if I should stop taking my BP meds and monitor things. She agreed, and said I should check my BP several times a day, and advise within a few days of the results. So I've checked my BP every two hours today at work. It is absolutely normal ~120/74 or so each time - without ANY blood pressure meds. I'm pretty pleased about that, since this could mean two fewer pills to take every day. I'm all for that. I wanted to post about it in case others are having the same symptoms I was having. Good luck! Dave

    NSV x2, hopefully not TMI

Love BOTH NSV's. That is awesome, congrats, and enjoy shopping for MUCH smaller scrubs!!!
  12. I have to go back to work tomorrow, I am a dispatcher and wear the same uniforms as the cops. So I go in my closet to get a uniform ready and I could not have imagined that the thing was going to fall off me. I know I have lost weight, but I really had not been able to see it. Well I am not sure what to do about tomorrow, go in plain clothes??? The uniform pants are not going to stay up! So then I had to find something to wear to an Anniversary dinner tonight and NOTHING in my closet fits! NOTHING, things that were tight before now hang on me. I started crying in the mirror because I could not see it before today. The days of baggy hoodie sweatshirt hiding are gone, shopping is in order!
  13. Had a nice NSV this morning, went horseback riding in the snowstorm, I'm almost 3 weeks postop, and I have 5 horses. So getting more fit as a rider, was a huge push for me to get the LAP Band. Had a nice half hour ride out in the snow, walk and trot, on my little elderly Arabian mare. She is small, pony sized, and I sometimes felt self conscious riding her, as I felt that I was "out of proportion" to ride such a petite horse. I'm down about 17 lbs, eating normal soft foods, no vomiting or real complications now. So YAY for horseback riding in the snow! I had no discomfort mounting, dismounting, tacking up, walking and trotting. I'm back to being me

    Newb question

Ok...so I've been trying to figure out what the heck NSV means...I'm thinking it has to do with some type of victory...but every link I found for acronym's on this site sent me back to the forum home page...it's been really frustrating! Can someone clue me in?

    Weight loss can be embarassing

    Weight loss can be embarassing

That is too funny! I'm laughing *with* you. I think it's time to buy some new pants! Great NSV!
  17. Well, the NSV's are fast and furious, but scale victories are nice too. I'd been in a long stall, and I'm starting to believe it was because I was eating these stupid popsicles at 80 calories a pop. I've cut them out and the weight has gone back to a nice steady pound or so per week. More importantly, I'm finally under 250 pounds! This is a big deal for a guy who's been over 300 lbs for at least 15 years. I haven't been under 250 lbs since high school. 250 lbs is also an important number for me for two reasons: it marks 80 lbs lost (yay!) and there are a LOT of activities that I always wanted to do "some day" (skydiving...) that have an "absolute weight limit" of 250 lbs. So now I can finally get back to trying all those "I'd like to try them some day" activities that I've always been too fat to try! I'm excited On a side note, I went to my girlfriend's Xmas party last week, and her boss, who hasn't seen me for a year, couldn't stop talking about how great I looked. And he wasn't the only one. It's weird, I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I'm not the same giant blimp of a man that I used to be!

    NSV on the scale!!

today I had a great moment....I had an NSV on the scale. How is that possible? Our digital scale didn't weight anything over a certain weight. I hopped on it just for poops and giggles and it worked! There was no error message to make me feel like crap today and there will never be that day again. I havent been able to weight myself on our home scale in 3 years. Not only did I have that amazing NSV I was also down 3 more pounds. Such a great day!!

    Four months out OMG!

    Congratulations both excellent NSV's.

    NSV

Well, I have lost 37 lbs. since starting the pre-op diet on 11/8 and was banded on 11/22. Since then, my shirts no longer attach themselves to my stomach. My bra is now on the tightest hook. My inner thighs are gradually beginning to stop rubbing together. My husband can wrap his arms around me again. My Pandora bracelet slides right off of my wrist when it use to be so snug I could barely get one finger under it and it is the largest size. My panties are sagging. My pants legs are dragging the ground because the waist is getting too big. Most of all, I was able to control my eating at a Christmas party last night! I could actually see my plate for once without it being covered on every inch by food. I got one chicken tender and removed the breading, on teaspoon of a sour cream/salsa dip I make (with no chips), a teaspoon full of Ro-Tel dip (with no chips), one deviled egg, and 4 pieces of buffalo popcorn chicken (about the size of a nickel). Oh, and I grazed by the desert table and didn't put one thing on my plate!! So, to anyone who is watching this forum and wondering if Lap Band is right for you, I say go for it! It will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself. You deserve the best treat ever.....a new life!

hard to believe that is what it took for you to buy some new scrubs. I am surprised they stayed on you for so long! I've heard of people walking and their pants fall off of them! That is a great NSV. Thanks for sharing!

District Court Judge finally gets it right..

Read a little better buddy, I've posted several things in the WLS part of the forums, from NSV's to helping with questions of other fire and policemen, asking question's about surgeon's giving opinions on my surgeon, etc. etc. so before you go and get all high and mighty learn to read a little better(FWIW I was banded Aug '09 and am down 86 lbs, with about 40 to go). Stay the heck out of the post if you don't like the topics and if I feel like posting predominantly in one area thats my choice and I WILL EXERCISE IT! Are you a forum moderator? If not, keep to yourself.
  23. So today I went in for my four month post op visit. My bp was 109/73 I have been off my blood pressure pills since September. My latest labs are all good. From the day I first saw him in late July I weighed 208 today I weighed 159! I am beyond happy and the icing on my cake an ultimate NSV my surgeon asked if I would send him a before and after picture on his web site!! My feet still haven't touched the ground.

    Another NSV

Those are AMAZING NSV's! It's downright dangerous to have non-stop periods due to the blood loss. It's great that your cycle seems back to normal. And your BP getting back to normal is just as amazing. Congrats.
