YAY! CONGRATS!!! I have an appointment next week to go over the pre-op diet and all other pre-op info. I don't have to do as long of a liquid diet since I already have a lapband (although it hasn't worked in three years-LOL). I will let you know if I find out anything new. Do you think you will have your surgery in December?

Hey guys.
I've been sleeved on Sept 20th. The first week amazing, I lost 12 pounds, but during the last 8 days, I gain 1 or 2 pounds. What I am doing wrong???

I don't work yet. I took care of my mother for three years until she passed away in March and have been so busy doing probate and dealing with her stuff, I don't have time to work, too!

Friday the 24th will be week 5. Everything has been going well so far. My only problem is that I have to crush my medicine to get it down and trying to get in my water intake. I have only lost 32lbs so far but I know in time it is coming off. I glad your surgery went well. Cheers to you!

I had to go back to work this week, 11 days post surgery. I was very worried about how I'd do, and honestly, I think people need two weeks off of work. Part of each day I felt great, and there were other parts that were really kind of tough.
My weight loss has stalled, but I've decided to be okay with that. I'm still not getting in every bit of protein I'm supposed to, but I'm doing better.
How are you? Glad you're home and on the mend.

Hey there,
I'm so glad your surgery went well!!! I am about two and a half weeks out and LOVE my sleeve. The whole surgery experience was kind of like getting tortured for a few days...lol.. But it all went great. I had no complications and was back to work in a week. Can't wait to hear an update from you!
Take care,
Nikki

Isn't it a trip how little we eat???? OK you know this is not just for a few weeks or months but FROM NOW ON?? I just said this to my hubby last night. It's amazing!!!! We went to our favorite mexican whole in the wall and shared his plate (huevos rancheros). I had one of his eggs and 2 teaspoons of beans, crazzzzy right???? Before I would have had TONS of chips and salsa and a WHOLE plate to myself. It's kinda hard to wrap my mind around it seriously!!! But that's the way we are ultimatley going to reach our goal and MAINTAIN it .

No dates yet. Surgery one, band removal, should be within the next 2 weeks, I hope. Surgery two, the sleeve, will hopefully be over my Christmas break so I can recover without having to miss work. I really liked that he wanted to do my revision in 2 procedures to lower my risk of leaks/complications. I'll post when I get my dates nailed down.

I was able to start solid food at 6 weeks. I have been doing really well with it and can each pretty much anything, if I eat small bites and don't eat too fast. I still start my morning with a protein drink too. Liquids seem to go down much easier than food in the morning. Today, I tried a protein hot chocolate mix with my morning coffee. 15 grams of protein in my coffee. Gotta love it. I also ordered the protein latte, can't wait to try it. I just finished working out, I'm off today and will drink my Nectar Protein drink in a bit. I have been bad the last couple weeks with my exercise. I have been working long hours on a project for work - just not enough hours in the day. Luckily, project ended yesterday - back to my normal routine. Good to hear from you. I enjoy reading your posts and following your progress mirror my own. Take care ad have an great weekend. Linda

I am feeling really great, 1 week & 2 days post surgery and I am so pleased with my decision to have the surgery. My surgery took just under 2 hours and I was back in my ward and walking around that afternoon. I had pain for the first 24 hours but it was tolerable with pain relief medication. I have had very little nausea but again I have Zofran to take if I need it. Obviously I am still on liquids but I do not feel hungry at all. I am slowly getting my protein intake sorted, this is a little difficult. It is my 40th birthday today and other than the fact I cant enjoy cake with my family, I feel fantastic! Goodluck to you, get all the information you can and just be positive about the new life journey that awaits.

Week 3: The dreaded stall that everyone talks about has happend to me. Only lost 1 lbs this week! (22 lbs in 3 weeks) Heard this can last for up to 2 weeks....hope not! Will stay off the scale for an entire week or I'll drive myself crazy!

Finally 2 weeks post surgery! I try to set a goal each day and today's goal is to remember to eat. ... guess my sleeve is really working!

Surgery 6 weeks ago today! It's still so surreal...the whole taking out 85% of my stomach thing... It still hasn't hit me that this is a life change and I will never go back to eating like how I did before. But when will it start becoming comfortable to eat? I still feel like whenever I eat anything I have to get up the nerve to do it because of the discomfort I feel as its going down. Am I possibly eating too fast still?
