LOL Cindy-----I too am a PB pumpkin addict. Shall we start a 12 step for it? Hi, my name is Kat and I am a PB pumpkin addict, I have been clean for 5 months......but the demons are back! LOL This is not meant to make fun of those who depend on a 12 step program! Got the 2nd truck unloaded, but there is an entire side yard full of HUGE wood waiting to be split, and Rick is sick. So, it is going to sit there for awhile. He has a massive sinus infection, poor guy. He tried to come out and help, but he can be standing there, and it is (sorry if this is gross and TMI) like someone turns on a faucet, and water---not thick, just water poors out his nose. Wierdest thing I ever saw! So I have been having like multiple personality things with all the cars outside! Normally my car is in the drive, the van and truck on the street---or we leave the truck at the farm. Well we had the little trailer behind the van with the wood splitter on it. So I had to back my car out of the drive, park it across the street, then back the van in the drive to unload the splitter. Then drive it around the block, because I don't back trailers well (!--putting it MILDLY), then park it in front of the house, then back the truck in the drive to unload the wood, unloaded it, then back the truck up, park it in front of the neighbors, because the trailer is taking up its spot, and then move my car back in the drive!!! I had a handfull of keys, and a plan!!! Got it all done too!!! Trey, see you lurking there......ya better be posting same time I am, or I am gonna report you for being a peeping Tom!!! LOL Better find a better window than mine, would not want to hurt your poor young eyes!!! Will be back in awhile, need to finish dinner.

Good morning everyone~I woke up about 5:20 AM because my bladder had reached it bursting point (tmi, i know) but while I was in the restroom I could not help myself...i weighed again. I was kinda scared to because I should be having aunt flow visit any day now and I could have Water retention, but I braved the scales anyway. I have reached a new set of numbers. Started at 273.5 and this morning I was down another pound to 259.5. I can not believe I am on a new plane of numbers. That tickles me and I wanted to share it with y'all. So...I have not had a ticker up in over a year, but now here it is. New journey, new ticker. I have 199 as my goal and will re-evaluate once i get back there :smile2: I wish I would have not turned my back on my band and regained all of this weight PLUS 20 pounds, but, I learned a valuable lesson and I will not dwell on the past. Whats done is done and today is a new day. If y'all get tired of hearing this all the time, let me know and I will start just blogging it Macy has decided she would make a cute kitten for halloween. She doesnt want to be a cat, but when i mentioned kitten she was all for it. lol, i guess to a 7 year old it just sounds more cute than plain old cat. Changing the costume will be easy enough, just take off the cape and mask and sew on a tail and put on cat ears and paint her face...voila! Ashley, glad you have a fun new date night planned! I am sorry for all you have endured over the past couple of years. How is your shoe store business going?? That sounds like fun and i'll bet you have more shoes than you know what to do with. I loved the ones you put the link up on. cute cute! Everyone~make it a great day in whatever you do. Thanks for being here....

Dehydration Issues.
DownInSocal replied to PhotoSteve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will chime in on the TMI. I am 8 days out and have only had 2 movements, if you could call them that. I am still passing gas and my husband can hear sounds so I am not worried. I don't feel bloated. I feel for you with liquids. It is hard. I wish I would have done this during the winter when it was a constant 70 out. -

Shoulder pain after surgery
dargar27 replied to stellasmommy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know this will sound odd, and it might be TMI, but when I had my C Section I had similar pain. It was awful, achy, and truly kept me awake at night. The nurse gave me some great advice that honestly helped. Lay down on your bed on your tummy and stick your booty up in the air sort of like a baby would sleep, you know? Rock back and forth and just stay there in that position for awhile. The nurse explained that the gas has no place to go, so by sticking your booty in the air, it helps give it another place to go and will relieve the pressure off your neck and shoulders. Sounds totally weird but it really did help me, at least I think so...lol Can't hurt to try, right? Good luck! -
OOOHHH!! Goody!! Another band sister - BandaCat - looks like October 5th is a big Banding day! With JDru and myself - that makes three of us on the same day!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Another LBT firend - Wheeler - is having revision surgery on Oct 4th.:clap2: Definitely a busy surgery week in early October. I didn't pig out before the pre-op diet - I haven't felt the need, as I am (nervously) READY to start my new banded lifestyle. However, I did make sure to have a few things this week that may not be terribly band friendly later, that might take me a while to work up to eating again, or that I shouldn't be eating anyway (eg. sticky bento rice, sushi, asparagus, chocolate and some cheesecake). I only had normal servings of each, at normal times. Since deciding to get banded, a lot of my old habits and attitudes are already changing. I just don't want to eat badly at the moment (hooray!). My girlfiends are taking me out for a Thai buffet on Sunday, and we are having a BBQ party at home for my dad's retirement on 1 Oct, so there'll be couple more good meals yet. :hungry: hehehe!!! I'll just avoid carbs / fried as much as I can, and won't drink any grog or caffeine.:biggrin1: I lost 1 kilo after Day 1 of my pre-op diet - but spent the whole day and half the night peeing:eek: sorry, TMI (too much information!), so it must be all just Water weight. I am also doing a 15 day digestive system detox (QuickClense, which is just herbal / fibre supplements), so that would be contributing to the water loss also. Looking forward to joining bandland with you all!

Hi guys!!! We have almost 2 inches of snow here today!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!! I hate snow. I have had a crappy few days. I went to the ob-gyn yesterday. Bad news all the way around. I have some issues to say the least. She drew blood and sent it for major tests. She thinks I might have a testosterone producing tumor, and if not my ovaries are not functioning properly. I have fibroids and possibly need a hystorectomy. I am fine with surgery, but the tumor idea totally freaks me out. I will have lab results tomorrow, and will know more then. My DH took the day off today and had a tattoo apointment, I had a LONG talk with my mom, sometimes she is great other times not so much. She was good today, she supports whatever we have to do. I wish she was this supportive with Abi's medical stuff. We also had an appointment with the psych today, Abi is being left on the current med routine (that's a first) She is going to do another month on the current cocktail. Seems to be working so we are leaving all as it. I am going to be seeing a surgeon next week about the girly stuff....ugh, I hate this. I went off Depo in Oct and still haven't had a period. (sorry Mr. Pat, I know TMI) I am not losing weight and I am breaking out like a teenager. I will update ya'll tomorrow. Night all...~Mandy

I forgot one important thing. For most of the day, I was very hungry. I was not really prepared for that. The staff told me it was very normal. I just woke up (TMI warning) and urinated 300 ccs which hopefully will get me an early discharge. As I write this, I am physically very hungry. Granted, I haven't eaten any solid food in a few days. Not sure how I'll feel about this in a few days, but for right now, I'm really looking forward to some broth this morning. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

OK so since last weeks blog got deleted, ill do a quick update. STATS: surgery 12-12-11 5'7" Hw: 265 GW:250 DoS:238.1 CW:212.1 DOWN 26 LBS...OH YEA! So here it is week 5. And honestly i think im doing pretty well.. Ive had ups Ive had downs, but overall im doing good... CAUTION-- this might be TMI.. lol So on the 14th, mother nature decided she was gonna rear her ugly head, gotta love that time of the month. And so far i havent really dealt with any stalls.. i had a minor gain the 3rd week, but that came off with some so i wasn't to unhappy and it only lasted a day or two so wasn't to bad. Anyways, so i have been steadily loosing approx 2 lbs per day before my TOM, and then once it started i gained 2 lbs.. damn water retention..lol. anyways So even tho im back to 212, im just sitting at this number until my cycle ends. its a little frustrating, but its just something im going to have to deal with. I guess the reason that i brought it up is because now im just going to laugh... this means every month im gonna deal with this. LMAO! ugh the joys of being a woman. Ill tell you why its funny to me.. before surgery i had been on DEPO for 9 years. I haven't had a freaking period in 9 years... ugh now im gonna have one every month. lolololol... FABULOUS! Anyways thats my rant and rave for the week.. other than that.. YUP im still hitting the gym 5 days a week, and it feels great!... JUST STARTED KICK BOXING... and lemme tell you.. that is a work out and a half!.. lastly, i have my follow up with my surgeon on the 27th! Im hoping she releases me to start doin full workouts.. i want to start working my abs!

November 2012 Members Post Op
Teklvr replied to crstalww's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had one of my worst days post-op. I guess I let myself get dehydrated and unfortunately constipated. Soooooo painful.. Magnesium citrate eventually cleared the way (sorry for TMI) after 10 hours of writhing pain. Don't want to have that happen again! -
Any December '08 Bandsters?
BillOh replied to Florida Pete's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was asked about my pain in recovery and I said it was about a 5 on the 1-10 scale, so they gave me dillauded. 5 minutes later they asked how it was and I said 4, more dillauded. That helped until I got to my room. I'm not feeling too bad until tried to get up, which was often with all the fluids they were pumping in. I was given liquid percocet in my room and will probably stay on that today, and will see tomorrow. As many people said, I suspect it will get better each day. Oh, I just checked and I didn't gain any weight during surgery as some people do because of all the fluids. I was definitely peeing by the gallon. (sorry for the TMI) I think that is why I'm still sore, so many trips to get up and go. -
This is a frequent post-op problem. [TMI Alert!] From research when it happened to me, constipation is caused because there is not enough moisture in the stool. Most laxatives and stool softeners add Fiber to your system, which causes the stool to absorb more moisture and become softer and easier to pass. [Yuck!] I took Miralax, which is a tasteless powder that can be stirred into any drink (coffee and sugar-free hot chocolate work well). Then drink as much Fluid as possible. Shortly after surgery, fluid is even more important than Protein. It may take a day or so to work, but when it does you'll feel so much better. Good luck!

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Leonafire replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am at the very beginning of my journey, I have been one of the ignorant people that tend to pass judgment on WLS, My daughter was sleeved last year, and it took everything in me to not nag her to death, I just felt, their she was taking yet another easy road out of something, I mean come on girl get off your a** and step away from the fork. Stop being so lazy. Well...now here we are, she has a hot healthy active body, she even did a 26mi bike ride with her and my grandchildren. Me on the other hand, have gained 30lbs since her surgery, which makes me almost in the mid 200,im all of 5'3 I'm in pain 24/7 and... Wait for it... I can't even wipe correctly, I know that may be TMI for some of you, but seriously I will bet there are some of you that feel the same way, just not putting it out there. I will do it for you, I want to wipe like a normal person, I want to wash those personal areas without pulling a muscle. I have many other triggers that finally opened up my mind and my heart to this path, but when I saw the topic, What was your last straw? that is the first thing that popped in my mind. I will be attending the seminar this week, my daughter has been such an inspiration to me, and I have seen the suffering, hard work and sacrifices she has made to get to where she is today. No easy road with this decision for sure. I am ready, I am ready to be the hot healthy grandma that can actually sit on the floor and get up all by her self. Ready, Set, Go!!!! -
When you can't even be honest with yourself
crystalsleeve replied to Kindle's topic in Rants & Raves
I applaud your TMI about personal hygiene. I am so happy that I am not alone. I think it is a personal decision to tell our not, but I agree that if people are beginning to look up to you and how quickly or easily you are losing weight is different. Knowing how much I have struggled through the years I can imagine how defeating it would be to watch someone losing so much weight with just "diet and exercise" when I'm trying to same thing with little result. I would feel like even more of a failure. Not knowing they have a secret tool helping them that I could never match on my own would be giving me a false expectation. Not that anyone is trying to hurt others by keeping it a secret, but think of how many people you could help instead. Would you have appreciated someone sharing their story with you during your struggles? Your story may not help them but it may help one of their family members. It also helps to remove the stigma about obesity. Now they may think they were right all along in thinking we are just lazy and some good old diet and execute would solve all of our weight issues. You may be able to help them understand that it's ok to get help. -
3 weeks of carnation
JENNIFER7375 replied to marmar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do the carnation shakes as well. It sucked!! Did some very unpleasant things to my stomach , TMI but I'm trying to be truthful. That being said, as sucky as the pre op diet it was, I now know it was well worth it. It's gonna suck but you can do it!!! -
Any October surgeries out there...
Chelle replied to debbiedenise's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on 10/21- Monday and wanted to give an update. So, I had the rny, and I also had my ovaries removed. I was in surgery a total of 4.5 hours. I guess they ran into a lot of scar tissue when working on my ovaries. I have 3 extra holes because of that. Day 2 was BY FAR the worst as far as pain. We were trying to remove the IV and keep my pain under control with oral meds. Bleck. I wanted to walk a bunch more than I did, but it was hard to keep getting someone in the room to unhook my leg massager things, and reattach my oxygen to the portable oxygen tank. For some reason my oxygen kept tanking. I finally started using the spirometer thing (spelling?) and was able to cough up a bunch of gunk.....that helped my sat's a ton. When I came home I still needed a lot of help transferring. Getting up, sitting or laying down etc. Today is the first day I am doing it on my own. I havent hit my Protein goal yet, but will try again today. I am getting good Water however- so yay! Ooooh in the hospital they gave me this NASTY stool softener- and sent a huge bottle home with me. Turns out, I don't need it at all. Seems the more liquids go in, the same amount come out. The hardest part is trying to twist and get wiped and cleaned up. Sorry....probably TMI....but I try to time my 'bathroom' events to be shortly after I have taken a pain med so its more tolerable. Hope this helps someone. I know I was sure craving these detailed stories before my surgery- so here is mine. Hugs and prayers to everyone!! -

Hey everyone! I'm back.... Sorry I haven't posted lately. This is my first day to work this week. I woke up about 2:00 AM Saturday feeling, not right. Really nauseous and yucky. Well, that was the beginning of 72 hours of vomitting and diarreha... evidently I got the stomach flu/virus that has been going around. NOT FUN!!! Have you guys every really had to vomit since being banded? Well, I hadn't. I have never even PB'd. I was sooo scared that with each time I was gonna cause my band to slip. I ate my first food last night since Saturday evening.. and I still seem to have restriction and I haven't had any reflux or anything, so hopefully everything is fine with my band. Man, I hope none of you guys ever get this stomach virus, it was bad. My entire chest, neck, and back area is sore from all the wretching. After not having eaten for almost three days and all that came with the virus, I lost about 3 lbs. Which means that since my highest weight, I've lost 101 lbs. This WAS NOT how I wanted to celebrate my 100 lbs lost! Thanks for listening everyone, sorry if it was TMI. Remember WASH YOUR HANDS CONSTANTLY!!! Especially if you go to the gym and use equipment after other folks.. this may be where I picked this thing up from. Okay.. enough about me.. MARZ, I'm sooo glad that your nephew is home and doing better. I'm sure that the billboard was awesome for him, that was so considerate of you guys. Linda - Keep up the great work! Neal - your family is adorable, congrats on the fitting into the seat thing. Don't you just love that? Alicia - I'm planning a "Girlfriend Getaway" for my anniversary with my best buds in the world... got to get it planned... Vegas? The Caribbean? Who knows? Paladin - how's the job thing?the move? When is 3loves getting that fill? Later Maysters!
