    All of my December sleevers...

I'm 5'7" Lowest adult weight (2002): 180 My highest adult weight ever (2009): 293 Lots of yo yo-ing since then but most recent stats.... October 2013: 259.8 Surg date weight (12-12-2013): about 237 (lost 22+ on my own personally devised pre-op diet) 1st follow up at surgeons office, dec20: 222 (with clothes on) So I guess I'm down around 15+ pounds since my surgery 8 days go! No surprise due to the clear/ full liquids and diarrhea (tmi I know). My Ultimate goal is around 170 -- surgeon thinks I can get to the 150s... Time will tell... Really don't want to get down too low as I'm large framed and like my occasional sweet treat (: I also love love love to bake!!

    April 2013 Post-Op Group

Yes...i was just talking to hubby about our out of pocket for the year and that i should really get it out before January. I'm thinking possibly August if the pain does not get any worse....but if it does, I'll do is sooner. Just hate it...cause we are going on vacation July 5th and don't won't to be bothered with this!!! Must be this June air causing grouchy pouches. TMI...but, been "pooting" and it's helping a bit
  3. I gm have tried capsules and chewables an have had no luck. I have been on gummys. I have the celebrate capsules an have tried an tried to take. Within 10-15 minutes if taking I got light headed an little dizzy, then throw up. It's so bad I actually dry heave due to puking everything up an nothing being left but the icky yellow stuff (I know TMI) but my hole upper body is sore after this process. I have been through twice an I'm scared to try again:( I have been great on flinstone gummy but in afraid that I'm not getting what I need, or no if I need to take more than just that.

are you using splenda??? it gives me gas and the kind of gas that might have a little suprise with it if you know what i mean(i guess that was a little tmi)
  7. I am going to wait on the pump until after the baby is here. I actually had a surprise baby shower at work yesterday and ended up with a gift certificate to Baby's R Us for $185. I think all of some portion of that might just be the pump after she comes. :0) CherryBlue . . . I feel your pain with the leg cramps. I had to drive an hour an MBA class yesterday night and I found that I was getting a horrible cramp in my foot by depressing the gas pedal. I actually had to use my cruise control. I get really bad leg/foot cramps now so I have been trying to eat more bananas (my mum always told me to do this) and using massage to try and work it out. I noticed my rings are a little tight as well and I had another week with a huge gain (4 pounds or so). I think it might be Water weight but my blood pressure is normal so I am not too concerned. Warning - maybe TMI . . . I am pretty sure I lost my mucus plug on Monday while I was fishing with my husband. I wasnt sure until I spoke to my ob today but now I am sure that is what it was. I was confused because I thought it was supposed to be discolored with a tinge of blood but it wasn't like that, there was no blood at all. My ob also told me today that I am 1 centimeter dialated. That allowed me to get really excited for all of 20-30 seconds before she then said that all it means is that my body is preparing for delivery . . . which could be this weekend or a couple of weeks from now. Darn . . . I was hoping that it meant that this daily discomfort would be over really soon, lol. All it really means is that I will have a baby sometime over the next several weeks (which I already suspected to be the case, lol). Also . . . have any of you noticed that people always tell you in the last bit of pregnancy to "enjoy your sleep while you can get it." What sleep are they referring to? (perhaps they have never been pregnant or have blissfully forgotten the experience) --> Is it the continuous uncomfortable tossing and turning to find a position that is slighly less terrible than the last. --> Or is it the waking up with an occasional unexpected but exceedingly painful leg cramp? --> Or is it the waking up sooo hot because your husband has lovingly tucked the covers around you for the umpteenth time until you look like an eskimo (and it is almost June). --> Or is it the 3rd, 5th or millionth time you got up to pee in the middle of the night? Lol, I need this baby to come so I can get a little rest between feedings. It has to be better than what it is like now.

    December Delights 2009

This morning's weight brought a huge smile to my face! 243.4. I've now lost 50 pounds from my highest weight! 24.4 pounds since the surgery. To celebrate, I'm wearing one of the new dresses I bought last weekend. I had a bit of help from Aunt Flo though. Every once in a while, when my period shows up, I'll have bad BMs. This was one of those months. I needed it though as I hadn't gone in a few days. Despite the pain and cramps, it was good to get all that stuff out. Sorry about the TMI. I started using different vitamins too. No more Flintstones chewables. Now using Centrum multivitamin, Biotin, and B complex. Another funny TMI, is that the B complex pill is bright yellowish orange, and it makes my pee neon yellow!

    August Sleevers Check In

it will come. Had surgery 8/29/14 I had a bm 4 days later but not the norm, it was runny (tmi) now I can pass down there freely. My problem is I don't know wen I am full so I drink a lot of liquids so I don't get dehydrated. A lot of spasms though. And medication makes me halleucinate. Stopped taking it.
  10. Had one of my worst days post-op. I guess I let myself get dehydrated and unfortunately constipated. Soooooo painful.. Magnesium citrate eventually cleared the way (sorry for TMI) after 10 hours of writhing pain. Don't want to have that happen again!
  11. Today I am officially ,1 month post op. MY surgery was April 15. I am feeling good! I am wearing some clothes from the other side of the closet, hehehe. I was nauseated this morning so Protein shake for me. Truthfully, I think I need a break from them. Yesterday, I had to gag my way through them. So I ordered unjury chicken Soup and unjury unflavored protein. My bras are starting to be too big and undies too. Sorry if that is Tmi. Overall very happy. How is everyone else progressing
  12. I’m only one month post surgery, and I thought I was ‘doing well’ then eat too much 2 days ago and had what must have been dumping, such awful cramps etc (I won’t give you tmi but you can guess). So I have gone back to tiny amounts of purees again because my gut just feels sore and upset. So I guess that my ‘forgetting’ I have had the surgery has had horrible consequences. Re. the getting hungry…I have that as well, but so much of it is ‘head hunger’, I want something sweet after dinner, that’s a habit, and ‘mouth hunger’ I crave crunchy, salty food. It’s not real hunger. My brain is saying ‘but you are eating so little, how can you possibly not be starving hungry’ but if I ignore those messages the ‘hunger’ passes (specially if I drink some liquid. A cup of tea, or a Miso soup help my 4pm crash. Really, really listening to your body, stopping before you are full is the way to go. I haven’t really been doing that, and the consequences were grim! Anyway hope that helps….I’ve got to deal with this myself, so any ‘advice’ is just my thoughts…I’m not sure there is a magic answer!

Gone for Good Club - May 2006

Ok, I just had to share this with ya'll. I had the most embarrasing sliming episode tonight at dinner. My fiance and I went to La Madelines for dinner, I ordered rotisserie chicken. Fiance got a salad, and out of habit I picked out a few croutons from his salad. A minute later I wanted to DIE. I was hurting soo bad. I drank a sip of Water trying to get the crouton to go down, but it just kept hurting. Then I started to slime and then the water came back up, all over me and the floor. I wanted to die. Probably TMI, but anyway. That was my embarrasing night. Hope ya'll all had a wonderful mother's day. I'm finally finished with finals and headed home to visit my mom for a week, so I'll be kinda scarce in posting, but I'll be sure to check in on everyone!! Hope ya'll have a great week! Kristin

    December Bandsters!

    - being able to look at a picture of myself and love it; - being able to look at myself and love me; - being able to walk into a regular store and not say "excuse me miss, where is the plus size section?" - this is a TMI but what the hell, being able to enjoy sex while being on top. did i say that out loud?

    Monday Morning Weigh In

I know it's Tuesday but I had to share! BROKE the week long stall - finally! I'm actually quite grateful that it was only a week! Yipppeeee! Hit 229 today - haven't seen that number in a long time. Added a 45 minute bike ride to the repertoir and, I think moving to mushies has helped. It's actually been quite the last couple of days; found out that a hard boiled egg eaten quickly does NOT count as a mushy - found that out the very painful, slimy way. Will my sleeve ever forgive me??? I'm so sorry oh Great Sleeve Master!!! Then, had my first real BM in almost a month! TMI, sorry. And - as most know by now, discovered how very important acid reducers are in regards to "hunger". What a ride it's been already!! Yay! C

    Things I will not miss...

Omg! This has my laughing and crying at the same time, I never really thought about all the stuff us "fluffy" folks had to go through. So it has got me thinking about all the things I'm not going to miss like... The marks you get in you skin from jeans and when you take off your jeans it hurts and you scratch it until you break the skin!! The fear of breaking chairs because you are so heavy. Having to hoist yourself in and out of a car. Feeling ashamed when I am out to eat and getting all the stares from people and I know they are thinking "tubby should have gotten a salad"!! Turning down social gatherings because you're afraid of being the fat one. Threatening your mother-in-law to take down the fat pics of you from Facebook. Hearing how confident I am for the size I am!! (Really!!!) Telling Lane Bryant to kiss my ass and not have to spend a ton of money just to get a pair of jeans!! (Really excited about this one!!) I'm not going to miss not being able to play with my kids and not planting the flowers they have been begging to do but I'm to fat to do it!! I'm not going to miss the heartburn!! The holes that your thighs rub into your pants. Boring sex with my husband because I am to fat to do more than one position (sorry if tmi). That's all I can think of for now. Thanks for starting this post it has kind of help me put things into perspective and realize how limited I am!

    Things I will not miss...

I won't miss so much. Mainly being the "fat girl" in the room. I'm so sick of it. I've been the token fat girl since as far back as I can remember. Ugh! I also won't miss worrying if certain areas of my body are smelly after sitting for so long. As Melissa put it in the show My 600 Pound Life "As a fat woman, no matter how much you wash, how hard you try.. Ya end up smellin"... I am the queen of smelly good stuff and always trying to look and smell nice, but its not always possible with how much I sweat. It's so gross. I also won't miss only being able to have sex for small amounts of time because my hips feel like they're going to give out on me. Sorry if this has been a TMI post. Haha

Ok, a good thing about this board has always been accountability for me. So, since Melissa asked....I didn't start "training" on Wednesday because my period started and I had cramps and I capitalized on having an excuse NOT to exercise... I did ride my stationery bike for 30 minutes last night and I walked 6 1/2 miles by the lake today. I did some jogging "spurts" and boy, were my lungs burning! I think I still had some leftover phlegm from my sickness last month, cuz I was coughing it up(Sorry! TMI, I know!) Anyhoooo, I have been good about water and vitamins. I wish I had a treadmill instead of a bike. That would help me because one of my big issues is being self-conscious about running in public. I realized I need some new shoes too. Ok, no more excuses. I will get serious this week. Thanks for letting me rant. Have a good week!

Dr. Ariel Ortiz at the OCC

    Update!!! Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since surgery. I'm still on my liquid stage and will be until Thursday (Argghh). It is not easy, let me tell you this. I was doing really good and the last couple days, I've been dragging. I had some left incisional pain on after going to the mall and the movies and walking the mall. It didn't last long, but was enough to remind me "Girl, you know you had surgery, right?!" So I took it easy for 2 days. Also I didn't mind at first if people ate around me, but now if people even talk about what they are going to eat, it annoys me. My parents called me and left a message a few days ago saying if you call back and we're not here, it's because we're going to get lunch! Ok- why didn't you just call me after? They came over along with my cousin and her baby (he's such a cute little distraction) yesterday which was nice- until everyone started talking about FOOD! Even the baby was eating peach cobbler!!! Granted it was the baby form, but boy was he into it! So cute! Anyway, it's still a little hard getting in the fluids. I'm using Enspira shakes and vitamins. I'm still not able to drink 3- the paperwork does say 1-3 though. I do mix the vitamin into the shake and because of the taste of the shake to begin with, you can't taste the vitamin. The shake is not very sweet and if you don't have a good blender you may not like it. I bought a Ninja blender (which is great by the way) and blend it to death, and it's still a little gritty, but to my own surprise I don't mind it! I'm over the soups except for French onion which is my fav. I may have to go to a restaurant and get a soup I like to strain. I do have Unjury chicken soup and may revisit it. You do have to take calcium and you can't take the vitamin too close to the calcium so man it's hard to get a schedule going. I'm not a medicine taker so that's hard for me. Other noted happening- no bowel movement! I hadn't had one for 8 days postop so I contacted the nut who said I'm not drinking enough fluids and if I needed it I could take MOM. I took one dose last Tuesday which didn't work. I took another on Wed which did ultimately work. No painful cramping either-smooth moves (TMI)!! Don't judge me moment- since I am a nurse, I do know how to start IVs on myself and did give myself some IV fluids last Sunday. To my defense I've done this for years since I work excessively and don't always have time to drink needed water at work. I've seen so many people go to the hospital on here for dehydration and I can do it myself so I save the ER co-pay! All in all, I am doing ok. I just have to focus and make sure to get my vitamins in. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}
  20. Hi All, Let me begin by saying this site and everyone that is open and honest about their experiences have been so helpful in my journey and decision to be sleeved! I am a 28 year old female from Australia and am currently 138kg (303.6 lbs). I have struggled with my weight since I was a child and have tried every diet known to man! But nothing has stuck unfortunately. So after much thought and discussion with my husband I believe the sleeve is my best choice. I have had depression and anxiety for about 10 years now and one of my phobias is being somewhere or with people and having an accident (not that it's actually happened, but it's been close before!)- TMI - sudden nervous bowel issues. So the thought that there is any chance of getting dumping syndrome absolutely terrifies me! I know that this can happen if you eat something naughty after sleeved (I have read this on this site) but I am scared I could be one of those people that may get it without reason. Can dumping be controlled? Eg. Anti- diarrhea tablets? This is the only thing that worries me about WLS. Any advise or comments would be great!
  21. Hey guys! I’ve been struggling with lately and now I’m getting scared. I’m sorry if this is tmi but I need some advice. My bowels are hard little pebbles and are covered in this yellow/white jelly like mucus. What’s going on?

Gone for Good Club - April 2006

Thank you lord! I was at a dormant weight of 219 for the past 4 - 5 days and I was getting really upset about it. I just joined this club and I'll be damned if I don't progress some kind of way. Ok, this morning I weighed 219lbs and I got so furious, I put on my sauna jacket, jumped on my treadmill and did a 2 mile run at a varying pace of 3.2 - 4.5 (5.0 for about 1 minute, almost died) and then my kids were making a whole heck of alot of noise, couldn't hear my ipod, and my DH wasn't helping so I got even more upset and jumped on my bike and took it for a 2.5 mile mini bike ride (with the jacket on). I came back, took off my jacket and water just poured out like I just got out of the pool. **NOTE*** when you wear the sauna jacket, drink lots of water before and after your workout so you don't dehydrate. TMI here so: Every single clothing item off, completely dried off for about 5 minutes, then hopped on the scale.... I'm now 217.5lbs but I don't do the halves so I rounded it off to the nearest. Here are my stats... C 218 (-22 pounds total, -1lb this week) P.S., still drinking water..

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

This is TMI for sure...but did anyone else have diarrhea on the second and third day post op? Everything I’ve read says constipation is a problem after surgery but I’m finding that to be quite the opposite for me. Tell me I’m not alone. HW: 420 SW:320 CW: 288 GW: 185 Sleeve: 03/26/18
