Hi Kids!!!!!! Happy Birthday, Long!!!....and...happy to have you back and to hear that you had a great trip. You stinker....not even a gain. Good for you! You are lucky with not getting tight when you fly. I attribute most of my 20lbs lost to flying. It seems to take me at least a week for things to be right again after I fly. It doesn't happen with every LB person but when it does it's like no hunger whatsoever. Never getting stuck, just not appitite. I have an NSV! Don't think I have ever posted one cuz just knew they came with weightloss. This one is a MIRACLE!!!! I have been doing a lot of weight lifting. Not too heavy...3lbs for arms. Well, my boobs started moving north and noticed over the weekend that they are sitting up there pretty good! Speaking of boobs....was at the lake since Wed. There was frost on the nipples every morning! COLD and WINDY each day except Sunday. Had fun though. Bunch of GF were up there and went out to a club, played cards, watched movies and cried, BBQ'd, etc. DH did not make it up again as he was still planting soybeans. Will be done about 4pm today. We are both going to head up again on Wed morning and stay till Tuesday morning. A bunch of HS graduation parties that we need to come back for on Sunday but will go back up after we hit them. Took me awhile to catch up with this thread. Haven't had time to look at any of my other ones. Sounds like everyone is doing quite well. Better get back to work so I can leave again! Hugs

JoAnn, CONGRATS!!! You are almost there!! All this time of waiting has gotten you so prepared there's no doubt that you are going to be an amazing success!! RE: Calories per day, I just read 3 pages of posts from while I was gone and there was a lot of discussion as to how many calories a day to eat. My average is 700-800 and that is w/o counting my exercise. I don't want to get in the habit of exercising for more food. I had a great weekend in Colorado springs. The marrige retreat was wonderful. We ate out a lot but I did really well. for the most part DH & I shared an entree, that keeps the bill much smaller too. I told him we can eat out twice as much now! And a great NSV! On the way home I wanted to stop at the outlet mall as it's about 45 miles from my house so not an easy trip to just go to but we were driving right by it. I knew there was an Ann Taylor there and since my shopping trip last week and fitting into some clothes from there I wanted to explore. I got a new sweater there. Then my Daughter wanted me to check out the Gap Outlet for some 'Long and Lean' jeans in a 6 Xtra long. They didn't have them and they had a 20. So I tried them on, totally expecting them not to fit. Guess what???? THEY FIT!!! Of course they were the 'curvy' fit but I don't care. it's so freeing to know my next jeans i don't have to buy at Lane Bryant. I can actually go to the Gap! I didn't even have to struggle to button them. I didn't buy them as they had many flaws and I do have enough jeans to wear right now. But am anxious to need new ones now!

OMG it's going to take all night to respond :0) Great by the time we need a retirement home - Your parents most likely won't be w/us :0) well don't know about that your GM is 100 so you got longivtiy in your blood ;0) Glad DD is better.. LOVE THE OUTFIT !!!! LOVE THOSE JEANS LauraK - That's a good feeling ;0) Have fun and enjoy !! Charlene - I thought you were on the train - why didn't you have a salad !!!! Girl - I'm on my way to TX ... I guess for me - I would rather not eat than eat at fast food place - I am just not a fast food person - never was.. Like when I drive up north or in the airport - I just don't eat (or I take popcorn w/me & jerky)... Well when Eva and I were in DFW we had ck salad but it was at a reg restaurant - but when you like have 1 hr between planes - I would rather just not eat - I will get some popcorn.. Yep you need jackets - Glad DS got home safe... I would worry to - White out - I couldn't imagine - well have had sand storms like that back in the day - now a days we are so built up we don't get them like we use too.. Chris Happy NYE... Oh so you married an older woman ;0) - Tell her we send Happy Bday wishes... Enjoy NYE remember make good food choice ;0) Linda - Chicago fine w/me - now we just gotta get dates that concide w/each other - I agree - That we didn't have time to visit w/everyone - but next time we can ;0) Tina - your Mom is most likely our age (50+) how's her skin - does she have wrinkles - how about your dad - that's where you can get an idea about your DNA - I agree w/Great - I lost 100 lbs in 11 months 1 week - (just found that post the other day) My doc said that I lost weight like a bypass person - but what's it really about is calories in vs calories out - that's all weight loss is - bypass pple don't have to learn to eat healthy - hell they will lose the weight due to the malabsorbtion issue - they don't have to work as hard in the beginning - but if they don't learn to eat healthy and change their diet they will put it back on cuz after about 2 yrs their intestine starts adapting and start re-absorbing calories again.. Yep Sandy - little things like cleaning house - walking up a flight of stairs - walking the mall - so much diff now adays Not working out tonite ;0) it's Thursday and it's against my religion to work out on Thursdays :0) - it's been my day off since I started exercising 3.5 yrs ago - OMG I have been exercising that long.... That's a 1st - a FANTASTIC NSV.... At 2:45 they send an email saying if our work is done we can go home at 3 - why didn't they say that 1st thing then maybe I wouldn't have goofed off in the morning LOL... My stuff was done - stayed till about 3:20 then went to post office to drop off QVC returns - then to Costco - OMG pple are pigs - they bring out food and pple rush to get it then just freaking stand there and eat it - they don't care that they are blocking the isle.. Saw a couple girls I know - Got lobster for tomorrow - asparagus - and Lemon Cooler cake - That's my new yrs treat.. will end up throwing it away - or maybe I'll freeze it and bring it out when the kids come at the end of Jan - but hell no they don't need it either.. In the trash it will go - will have a slice or 2 then will be done.. it's 65 in the house - just turned on the heater my feet are freezing... Food today... Brunch - ate omelet (egg beaters & 1 oz hamburger & salsa and green onions) around 10ish so wasn't hungry for lunch... Dinner - chicken on top of a green salad w/avocado & red onion - bolt house yogurt dressing (got rotisserie ck at costco) Snack ?? Had 2 cups of coffee when I got home - so might not have any.. Well 10 pple most likely have posted since I started this... so will cbl

You are going to college - that's great - DH & Kids ya I know what you mean - I don't have a dh anymore - which is totally fine with me - I feel that it's time for me I am sick of taking care of everyone else... My son is grown (and has had his struggles) and I have my 17 GS who lives with me - but knock wood he hasn't cause me any real headache.. Mentor - Well Alex (owner of LBT) started this new thread and I just happen to be the first to start the 1st thread within the thread (i think the 1st thread that was started by Alex will tell you what to do). So all you have to do is go above to lap band buddies / mentors (new) and start a new thread offering your help.
I am off to a great start today and I wanted to let you know. I am writing down what I eat, exercised, and feel a new motivation to start again. So thank u for your support. I would like to be a mentor, do you have to sign up in a program or just support those on this website? I have already been encouraging others and I really believe it is helping me. Have a great 4th! I know you are busy!!
Congratulations !!!! I am so happy for you !!! Yes once you get back in to the swing of things it will really re-motivate you and sometime a little competitiveness is a good thing - I challenge myself all the time. Since I am off today - I went to the gym this morning (I usually take Thurs/Fri/Sun off from the gym) I did 3.5 miles in 55 minutes without holding on and incline up to 10 at 3.5 mph - I was sweating like a pig but felt really good about my work out - came home got in the pool to cool off and realized I can't float any more - funny how something as silly as not being able to float can give you motivation... Just knowing that my body now has more muscle than fat is a great NSV and proof that all my exercise has been worth it - (with the saggy skin issues my muscles do show some but not as much if i didn't have all this loose skin - but who cares underneath there are muscle) Well off to the shower - gotta get errands done before it gets any hotter

Another great NSV for Lori!! well I guess it does relate to the scale, but MORE to the husband/scale! Good information for equipment purchase, Lori. I have not used other ellipticals, so I didn't realize there would be that difference. Does yours have the arm exercise option? The one at the gym does not, but I think that might be helpful, esp as one has to exercise with more intensity as weight is lost. I've seen the Nordic Track at costco - it looks darn good.

Lori The words and thought are for everyone really - as I said in a post I was typing as you were posting this one - we are all the same. I am glad you are better - ya I hate pain meds too - they make you feel out of sorts and they don't let you sleep well. Congrats on the 2x falling off that's a great NSV - and get the tired by the time you got dresses. Heck I don't have the excuse of surgeyr - I did change out of jammies to house dress and brushed my teeth - but that's all I have done today...

Hey Phyl, never heard of a "Mob party" but anything with the word party in it sounds fun to me! Apples....man does it sound cold where you live, I just love the winters here, 30 min from pine trees and snow. I get to look at it and not live in it! LauraK...The walks have been going really good, yesterday afternoon was the first afternoon I took off in about nine days! Then today I will be back at it morning and afternoon! Yeah, I had a nsv.....I fit into a pair of wranglers that were toooooo small! And my belly did not hang over when I zipped them up! I just get so excited and happy.....walk a little taller and smile at strangers a little more...well, because I'm feeling good in my wranglers! Charlene----sending a prayer your way! Today my sis is coming over and staying for dinner, I'm making meatloaf and a salad. yum, yum. Well everyone, take care, drive safe, eat right, and sleep well..(that just about covers it) oh yeah, get up and move!

Good goin' on the cake, Linda. The band sure makes it easier to pass all that stuff up. It's not going to make food choices for us but just having it is a reminder of our new and healthy way of living. I hope and pray that it is with me (and works as well as it does) until I leave this world. Also, great NSV with the co-workers. Isn't it fun when people really start to notice???? VERY warm this week in MN also. Crops look good though with the rain we had over the weekend. Mornin' to the rest of the gang. Hope everyone is having a great day. Running around getting caught up so I can leave again in the morning. Have a bunch of GF's :wub:joining me for a few days. Floating rafts, foo foo drinks, movies, board and card games, etc. :smile2: Big celebration over the weekend in the little town close to our resort. Should be a fun filled weekend. Wish I could snap my fingers and all of you could join me. I am fun....honestly....I would make sure you all had plenty to do, drink and eat. Ohhhhh, maybe next weekend?

Laura, HAPPY BANDIVERSARY!! 90 pounds is amazing. I'm very proud of you. Charlene, very interesting about the planned diet. Yes, let us know when this starts. I have no doubt it will work, anything works if you stick with it completely. And learning how to eat differently is what this journey is all about. Although my weight loss is very slow and goes is spurts, what I'm noticing is I will lose weight and then slow down and not lose for a while. My body does still look the same and then a few weeks later, although my body still looks the same (and I knew it would) it's getting smaller. Suddenly I can fit in a size smaller and my butt is smaller and my fat gut is smaller. I have 3 new pairs of size 20 pants that fit...they fit really well. I haven't been in a size 20 since at least 1995 or 96 maybe....it's been a very long time. I'm not doing killer exercise, but whatever I'm doing, it's working. Guess this is a NSV for me. Okay, gotta go to work. Later ladies, have a great day!! Eva
  12. NSV today...The first person to notice that I looked better is my banker. I only see her a couple of times a year, but it was nice that someone finally said something!

  13. Sorry about the NSV there are some many abrreviations and acronyms for things I'm still learning I read some of the other messages so I'm guessing you just joined the family. I hope everything is going well and your doing good. Keep me posted with how things are going and if you need a push I got you! Take care.

  14. thanks for the pic comment and the compliments! happy to share my NSVs, but just especially happy that i am HAVING them! heres one i had today... sharing it JUSt for you (because you said you like reading them! haha)

i was working out with my trainer today, and while i was doing pushups he goes "hey, i can finally see your tricep muscles coming in!" my arms are my least favorite part of my body, but they are getting muscular which is awesomeee and so motivating for me to lift harder. then, later in the workout, he just kinda stops and says "you know, thinking back to when we first met (like 8 months ago).. it's just night and day. you arent the same person at all. you can run circles around the old you." which, i mean, i knew... but its always great when someone else notices your achievements.

you have done a great job so far along the journey with your weightloss! keep in touch!

  15. I am turning 50 this month. I had the sleeve on 7-11-11. It was my birthday present to myself. So far, so good. Still on the mushie stage but starting to have some NSVs (non scale victories) ... I wore a top today that I decided was just too big ... I won't wear it again to work. That hasn't happened in a LONG time!

  16. I want to see pics!!! :-) Congratulations! What a great NSV.

  17. Two great NSVs - one: my dietician told me I was by far the most successful sleeve patient he's ever seen. 92% of my excess weight now lost! Two: ran my first (and maybe last) 5K yesterday and clocked a respectable 38 minutes. :)

  18. Man, my family recieved gifts of chocolate covered strawberries and different assorted cheesecakes! It's hard but it's not impossible. I can open the tray, smell it- the sugar, fake chocolate and preservatives- and close it and eat a slice of turkey deli and feel fine. NSV!!!!!!!

  19. The best NSV is finding out that your foot is no longer a wide!

  20. I tied my own shoes today. Some of you will know what a big deal that is :)#NSV #wls #weightlosssurgery #diet

  21. A major NSV!! I was having a conversation with one of my friends who stopped in the middle of her sentenced and said "OMG!", I said "what?", she said "when did you start crossing your legs?". I did it and didn't even realize it. I've NEVER been able to cross my legs. I'm loving my sleeve. Blessings2u--BJ

  22. NSV weekend!! Went to a taping of Americas Got Talent in SF. Before, I would have been sqeezing into the chairs, now...I easily sit in the chairs, cross my legs, have room to wiggle..LOVE IT!! And I realized I have a lap now!! The small things in life :0}
