I have over the ear hearing aids that I got from the VA ( many years on the flight line). They are over the ear and into the ear canal type. My question is this, would weight loss make them not fit correctly anymore?

I am 24 years old and have struggled with my weight since I was in the 2nd grade. I was raised on happy meals and diet soda. I struggled with an eating disorder in high school because I felt 'fat' next to my friends. I weighed a healthy 150 at 5'6. I now think back and wish I never even started my unhealthy eating habits. At my highest weight, 257 lbs, I decided to look at the Gastric Sleeve surgery. A friend of mine did it and had amazing results. On Wednesday, I will be having my surgery. The past several days on my pre-op diet have been extremely tough. I'm used to eating what I want and when I want it. Unfortunately, my fiancé eats what he wants, usually fast food. He wants to be supportive but is having a hard time changing his eating habits. I have lost 11 lbs since Friday morning (9/28) and I am extremely happy with my decision to have the surgery. I know the journey is just beginning but I am definitely ready for a healthy new start!

I just wrote a similar post--no weight loss in a week; also 2 weeks post op. Maybe it is hormonal? It's very concerning. VSG: 5/24/2017 HW: 234 Pre-op: 226 CW: 213.8 GW: 155 -
Hellllllp! Finalizing decision between LB and bypass. Need imput please!
Wheetsin replied to Mrs. S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just my thoughts, worth what you're paying for them... In a sitution where the time to get the weight off is truly a life or death matter, I would advocate RNY. I don't say that lightly b/c I'm not a fan of the procedure, but if it's "lose weight in a year or you will die" -- then RNY is probably your best option. -
Hellllllp! Finalizing decision between LB and bypass. Need imput please!
Dody replied to Mrs. S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You stated you have very serious health issues. I have no idea what they are, but I have serious issues of my own. I've had 5-way-bypass heart surgery and cannot have RNY if I wanted it (which I don't). My doctors would not allow it. I'm curious as to your health issues, because whether we like to believe it or not RNY is a very complicated and serious surgery and you should be up to it. If your weight is the major problem and it has to come off quickly, than that decision has to be yours. I just wondered what you are facing, because RNY isn't for everyone. -
Hellllllp! Finalizing decision between LB and bypass. Need imput please!
3loves replied to Mrs. S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Personally, I never considered WLS until I discovered the lapband. The biggest reason for me was the complications brought on by having the bypass and knowing the band is reversible. I have 2 small children and this is what is best for me. I don't know of anyone that has had the bypass and converted to the band, but I do know of people with the band converting to the bypass for whatever reason.....something to consider. Keep in mind that statistics are just numbers. You can't say that you will only lose 50% of your needed weight. You may lose more or you may lose less than that....each case is different. This I know to be true.....more people have died from the bypass surgery or complications than the lapband.....a huge factor in my personal decision. Another issue for my was praying. I have no idea of your religious beliefs, but for me personally, this was a tremendous help in guiding my decision. Now I have no doubts. :biggrin1: Oh...thought of something else....the bypass surgery makes food decisions for you IMO. The lapband requires more of an effort to make good food choices. I do wish you the very best in making the right decision. Look at the BIG picture and do what is best for you personally, not what someone else has done. :gluck: -
I was curious, does anyone do Weight Watchers with the lap band?

kelseysmommy replied to ella37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't stress over it, I stalled and gained a pound even after 2 weeks. Just try and stay motivated and know after a couple days you will again lose the 3lb and 4 lbs. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App -

Calorie Intake for weight loss after weight gain.
merylinda replied to merylinda's topic in Food and Nutrition
Thank you! Yea, sadly they won’t lol My calorie intake eating as I would say like a beast protein after protein yesterday was about 600. Thankfully, I realized where I was gaining all the weight gain, it was from alcohol, I could drink a bottle of wine like it’s no ones business as I cleaned my home. So I quit the fun drinking and now am just focusing on fueling my body with what it needs -
Saw the psychologist for this appointment. Felt pretty good about it in the end. I asked him about what he saw the most. He said the most problems he sees are untreated depression and unrealistic expectations. He feels I'll do well. That makes one of us. I'm worried still about self sabotage. I don't know about anyone else. For me though, the start of a diet goes ok. I'm on track counting calories/points/carbs/protein/etc. Then when the weight loss slows down, I push it. I lower my calories, I up my time at the gym. After a couple weeks of this, one of two things can happen. Either I get hurt and have to take off time from the gym which wrecks the whole "being good" thing. Or I'll get ragged and by the end have no energy left and I get pissed that what I've done hasn't worked...again. While the family goes and gets themselves dairy queens. I really don't know what it feels like to have the effort actually pay off. The idea is so pie in the sky right now. I have 2 tests left, the upper gi and the stress test. I have an appt w/ my nut. on the 25th. Just trying to keep my head down and do the program I'm on. Next step is to figure out the vitamin/protein thing.

Instead of counting how many days i have to wait, i am counting each day as a day nearer to getting my blood results and a new date. My sis has had her op and they think they have got the cancer early enough for it not to have spread, she gets the reults next friday; My mom may be home early next week, and my husbands mom's funeral is next friday. Hubby's brother has been offered a council bungalow to rent so that is another tick on the things to be done list. I have been reading loads of posts on here to encourage others and to learn even more about the sleeve. I am still on my liver shrinking diet and did less than 1,000 cals yesterday, but today i could eat a lot more, it might help if i knew how long i had to do this for, but at least it will be getting me ready to much less cals after the sleeve. I wa surprised to read today that you can eat 1,300 cals a day after the sleeve to maintain the weight loss, at the moment i have to eat less than 1,000 to loose weight, but perhaps i may have a better metabalism after the op, got to keep the hope up and be positive, I am still battling with the dissapointment with the delay of my op, but getting there, day by day. I must not eat chocolate, i must not eat chocolate, wonder how many times i need to write this to stop the desire, lol, hey ho, on we go, lettuce really is as nice as chocolate, not, lol.

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if you could tell me what a stall is. I know it's when you stop losing weight for a period of time but how long does it last and how did you get through it? I'm a very impatient person and I get a lot of anxiety when I'm not losing weight because I'm doing everything right and I'm just getting frustrated. Xx

Being Banded in Bristol on 1st October, Advice needed!!
Wizbeeward posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi All I am booked in to be banded in Bristol on 1st October. I am starting to plan my Pre-op Yogurt diet but am not sure what drinks i can have. I am thinking of doing the diet for two weeks as i carry a lot of my weight around my middle and the consultant said the Yogurt diet would help with the excess fat around my liver, thus making the op easier. Can anyone tell me what drinks i will be able to have during this diet time? Is it just fat i have to avoid? Thanks -

Yes I have the same kind of back pain across my mid back. I have not been to the doctor. I kind of figured it was my muscles readjusting to carrying my weight differently. I haven't really lost any of my chest which is throwing me off balanced. I'm not sure but it is very painful.

Happy birthday & I haven't dealt with depression due to weight issues but due to an idiot hubby yeah but I learn to ignore him & my life is much better -
Congrats on being banded and with your weight loss thus far. I agree with Bandista....there is quite a learning curve. I am just about 5 months out and am STILL learning...and I believe I will be for a long time. But it is the best thing I've done for myself in well, forever! Wishing you continued success!

Loose skin! Do you have it or no? Is it inevitable?
icebergslim replied to Wendydarling19's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm 36 years old, 5'11, girl, banded in April 2013, starting weight of 326.2, have lost 107 lbs in the last 13 months, still want to lose about 60 pounds. I have a pretty saggy stomach. Not a panni that hangs down, but just a bumpy stretched out stomach. I think that is mainly from being pregnant while I was overweight (14 years ago). My arms are a little bat wing-ish, but not horrible. My upper thighs are saggy, but not horrible. Plastics would probably be the icing on the cake when I'm at goal, but I'm not desperate to have anything done. You really have to wait and watch how your body reacts to the weight loss. Losing with the band is at a much more reasonable pace than with other surgeries. Your body will slowly adjust as you lose. Try not to trouble your thoughts with the "unknown". Focus on eating right and listen to your band. The rest well come in time. Good luck and hang in there! -

Try and exercise as much as you can, especially weight training, I regret I didn't initially.
