    Incisions Itch At 4 Week?

Totally normal! It takes weeks for all the different layers of skin to fully heal. I had my shoulder scoped over 6 years ago and my scars still itch sometimes.

  5. True Friendship....... None of that Sissy Crap Are you tired of those sissy "friendship" poems that always sound good, But never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship. You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this card- Just the stone cold truth of our great friendship. 1. When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad. 2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you. 3. When you smile -- I will know you finally got laid. 4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get. 5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining. 6. When you are confused -- I will use little words. 7. When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have. 8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass. 9. This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end. "Why?" you may ask; "because you are my friend". TURNER24 Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, But only you can feel the true warmth.

    What Is "normal" Pain

That is where your stomach came out... They place an extra stitch there so every time I moved it pulled/ stringed but the pa told me it was totally normal. It lasted about a total of four weeks until the stich dissolved.

    bowel movement?

I am around 2 1/2 weeks out, and I didn't have a BM for several days either, and when I finally did one day it was very loose more like diarrhea, but remember you are on a liquid diet, so I guess that was pretty normal, from the way my Dr. reacted at my 8 day post op check. Now as soon as I started eating regular food again I also started adding benefiber to my Protein shakes because I knew I was not eating enough Fiber, I was mostly eating meat, eggs. cheese, things to get the protein in, yes I was also trying to eat fruit and veggies, but I know I am not eating enough of them to get all the fiber I need and I don't want to be constipated. As far as the hunger, it is called Bandster Hell because you are not getting any bennifit from the fills yet, just try to eat more often when you are really hungry an watch the choices you make and hopefully this time will pass soon because I an still in it myself:sad:

    What food do you eat.

If his doctor knows his band is not too tight, he's not chewing enough and/or he's taking too big of a bite and eating too fast. Most of us can eat most anything. Each of us have that one or two foods that we find hard to get through the band, but even if we take fingernail sized bites and chew a lot usually we can get them through. Specifically what is he choking on? And is he choking or is the food just getting stuck in his pouch or esophagus? Here are 4 videos that all bandster's or support for bandster's should acquaint themselves with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa3Lwt6ElIs&list=UL Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4jYJipQ7vc part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbdhf44ZweI&feature=relmfu Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF3TCKUn3YI Part 4

    Plication Regrets?

I have only had mine for 6 months but I am very happy with mine. I have gone from a size 20 to a size 4. But I only had 80lbs to lose. From what I'm told if you have 100 or more to lose you should go with the VSG. The main thing you have to remember every WLS is only as good as you take care of it. There are ways to eat more than 3 oz if you really want to with the super sleeve and vsg. I wish I hadn't read how ppl do it so I'm not going to share but I'm still losing weight even though I'm not doing a strict diet anymore. I lost my weight faster than most since I gav up bread and pasta for five months. I knew I needed protien so used my space to eat meat instead of carbs.

    In need of food help

Hi there, Here's how I incorporated fruits and veggies early out: Yogurt shake for breakfast: greek non-fat yogurt, a couple of strawberries, a splash of OJ, bigger splash of Water, and some Splenda. Melons for snack:Watermelon and cantelope both sat well. Applesauce cups: another good snack 1/3 bananna: snack Frozen peas and carrots: Cooked them alongside whatever Protein I was having Zucchini: cut off a few slices with a mandoline slicer and cooked them alongside whatever protein I was having Soups: Split Pea, Veggie, Tomato, Butternut Squash Peppers and onions, spinach: Added to sandwich after I could tolerate bread again Spinach: wilt and serve under protein I couldnt eat much because early on protein took almost all my room, but I love veggies and fruit and would have felt deprived without any. To control constipation, I used a fiber supplement, benefiber and Colace stool softener. Lynda

    In need of food help

I am 11 weeks out so I am still learning too but I have a morning to "go to" shake. 1 scoop of vanilla Protein powder, 1/2 a small banana. I pre slice and freeze them to make my shakes a bit thicker. I add about 6 oz of skim milk, 3 or 4 frozen strawberries or a small handful of frozen blueberries. Just a splash of Water and about 1/2 teaspoon of Miralax and blend it up. It tastes wonderful and a great way to get some fruits and fiber in. This is the most carbs I consume at one time but the good mix of protein and carbs gets my day off to a great start. It does take almost an hour to get it down. For lunch and dinner, I usually just have room for protein and some veggie/fruit. I do 2 bites of protein and one bite of veggies/fruits. I love to just have a couple of strawberries on the side of the protein or some steamed broccoli. I have been keeping it simple. I also have one small prune with lunch and dinner. It helps. Good thing I like them. :-)

    How often do you weigh?

I weigh myself every Monday morning. It's my way of starting out the week, and focusing. Every once in a while, I'll sneak in an extra weigh in, if I'm noticing my clothes or my rings a bit more looser.

    How often do you weigh?

Since I discovered what I weigh (at the time of my surgery) I weigh daily. It's my reality check. I have never gained more than 3# or so and I credit that to weighing daily. If I am gaining I stop and think about my food choices, are they salty, am I retaining water, or did I just eat too much of what I shouldn't. It kept me on track and still does.

    How often do you weigh?

It's like a kid at Christmas....just a peek. I weigh the same time every morning, in the same spot, wearing my same pj's...I do wash them. I'm in the KNOW of what's going on with me and I like that. Others don't need the scale...and that's fine for them. Wish I could do that...but being 136 just 2 years ago, I stopped weighing myself every day. So when I week or so would go by and I gained a pound... "oh, it's just a pound"... well, a year went by of that and I was over 200 again! scales are my friend, my reality check. (oh, didn't notice clothing size changing as I was on a tropical island wearing skirts and tshirts every day... that elastic can fool you!)
  19. Dr. Aceves' patient info guide lists both as (PPI) and I'm confused. Is the Pantoprazol a type of Proton Pump Inhibitor or are they 2 different meds I need to take for 3-6 mos (post-sleeve)? Help and Thank you!

    Gurgling noises??

im assuming you are on liquids only, so just sip throughout the day. make sure you get plenty of Protein in. i remember when i was banded (back in the day - LOL) i didnt feel hungry at all at first. it took a couple of weeks until i truly was hungry, but everyone is different. pains can be from sutures, hunger, gas, you name it.

    Gurgling noises??

perfectly normal. there's a thread about this right here: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f178/gurgling-noises-when-i-eat-drink-52981/ since you were banded 3 days ago, just take everything slowly. congrats on being banded!
  22. I find Atkins bars and Shaklee Protein bars very helpful for business travel. They are low-carb, low-fat and low-calorie. They are full of Fiber. They keep blood sugar stable and control cravings. I use them during long flights of eight hours or more. Of course, I prefer real food, but with business travel, it is not always convenient. Downside of protein bars: flatulence. But they do control my hunger. I commute every other week between Europe and the US for work (one of the reasons I gained weight). Protein Bars have truly helped. I also know exactly the amount of my sodium intake. I cannot advocate protein bars for everyday use over real food. But I consider them superior to high-fat, high-sugar, high-carb processed food when on the road. For Breakfast in hotel buffets: I eat boiled eggs, smoked salmon and cheese.
  23. I'm feeling fine. And my band day of Aug 6 was long ago. Recovery has been excellent and I'm coming to an end of Stage 1 (liquids) next week when I see my surgeon on Tuesday, Aug 21 for my first post-surgery follow-up. Best wishes and Good Luck on Monday, Gigi_Girl. Be positive and Keep the Faith.

    BANAJOR OR BUST! Surgery 4/3/06

Well no busting but I am 2 weeks post-op from Bajanor and very happy. I'm so glad to be rebanded and working my way down the scale. I loved the packet of post-op information they gave to take home and refer back to with any question. I've got my lil' banded card. I didn't get one with my first band or all the post-op information to take home just verbal directions. It was overall a very positive experience!

    BANAJOR OR BUST! Surgery 4/3/06

I went to mexico on 3/3/06 I am feeling great and down 19 lbs. I went to belightweight DR Kuri. I chose that one because of the new hospital and they only wanted a $500.00 deposit. The hospital was incrediable. Brand new and so clean and well kept. The rooms had a place for my husband to stay at my side and tv and DVD for him to wach movies. The shower was also a huge tiled shower. This allowed my husband to get in with me post op and be by my side. I drove 8 hrs the day after and then felt good enough to go to work the next day. DONT!! take at least 2 days off. I hope you have as wonderful of am expirance as I did it make sit so much easier. Good luck and good prayers for you all. Brandy
