    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Renewed... Great NSV! I'd say you lost no ground! Of course its going to be harder, you haven't run consistently in a long time (end of Oct I think). But look what you have accomplished. Most people who've had PS take months and months to recover, let alone bounce back to exercise in the time you have! I'm in awe of your progress! Its healthy to not be all or nothing all the time. Falling off the regiment makes you more approachable, more human... LOL! Lyn... Did you get my positive thoughts and prayers today? How'd the interview go? It was funny, I was in the middle of a meeting when my Blackberry buzzed my reminder. So when I discreetly looked at it, a little smile came to my face, and I sent my thoughts and prayers... kind of made my meeting! LOL.

WTG aclubb!! You're doing great!! Great NSV's Kathy!! I love NSV's....sometimes they make me feel better than SV's. Okay, I have a question for ya'll. I have a Sony Erricson Walkman Slider Phone and it's like an ipod as well. I have an armband that holds my phone and I use it when I run. Yesterday, while I was running, my right arm (from the elbow to the shoulder) went kinda numb but was hurting really bad. I almost stopped running. Well, I finished my run and did my cool down and it eventually went away. Anyone else had this happen? I don't know if it happened because of the armband or if it had to do with something else going on with my body. The armband didn't feel too tight so, I dunno. It was weird....it's never happened before this. Any thoughts?

Georgia that's great! You are such a better person than I am. About a month ago I surpassed DH in weighing less - I joyfully sang nanny-nanny-boo-boo...that's just me though. Congratulations - soon he'll be able to pick you up (my DH too). I'm going to get small enough to get "remarried" and be carried across the threadhold - ah my dreams, silly - but something I've always wanted. I'm so happy for you girl! 100 pounds AND a great NSV...and trust me that one rocks!!!!!

Georgia... Yeah!!! Congrats on running again! Now, next time you're outside, don't trip on the cracks!!!! Renewed... reality bites, but its good to get a full dose of it once in awhile to bring you back around. Sorry you've conceeded defeat! I've been out of town since Monday morning, so have just now caught up on everyone. I used the hotel fitness facility to run Tue & Today, and it was nice. NSV to share... ever go to the hotel and they have small bath towels and those plush housecoats that are "One Size Fits All". It was always very frustrating for me cause the towels were too small to wrap around me and the housecoats would never fit me... Well now they do!!! After my shower I wrapped the towel around me and it OVERLAPPED! Then I cozyied up in the housecoat, and it was too big!!! I get to fly on Feb 1st, which is the first time since very early banding days (about 85 lbs ago), so I'm excited to see if I fit in the seat comfortably now???

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

i LOVE NSV's!!! - georgia/renewed just got caught up on the sept 07 board....good to see it alive again. leslie - unfills seem to do well for me; i might be heading in this wk for unfill #3 because it's been a while that i can eat a hot meal hot. gets annoying to wait , wait , & wait some more. hope your ankle is feeling better!!! kathy - i notice that runners do the acknowleged "nod" to one another; a neat club to be in. running was just not in the cards for me today - tried, and the legs would rather be in the yoga class that just started so left the treadmill for the dark confines of the class....i need to do this more; i felt better and my legs needed a break... have a good evening all!
  6. NSV today: Went shopping at NY& Co. And passed right by Lane Bryant! The first time shopping there in ten years. Fit a pair of size 16 short shorts and they are so cute and sexy!!!!
  7. I finally broke my stall today - it wasn't much of a loss .9 lb - But I'll take it. For me personally this week I changed things up - I slowed down on protein drinks and added more natural protein foods into my diet and increased my total daily calories (they fluctuate day to day) and today it finally brought me down. Mind you it probably helped that I had 2 BMs yesterday (I'm almost at 1 a-day)... But I'll take whatever loss. My BF reminded me this morning that he's proud of how strong my resistance has been to not going back to old habits and that slow and steady wins the long-term race every time. He reminds me that I just need to "work the program" and stay true. Add my NSV - while the scale wasn't moving for almost two weeks, my clothes are definitely fitting better. If fit into a size 14 jean capri's (but and legs are baggy) this morning and China size xxl sweater. My mom also commented that although the scale hadn't budged for me, I shouldn't fret because my body is transforming it's becoming more "shapely" - I'll take that.... A lot of our vets on this site say that all the time, I'm a newbie to WLS and 4 weeks in and having experienced most of what each of you have reminds me we can do this! Our will and support for one another is stronger than any stall.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

congrats Turler....way to go......we weigh the same now....YIKES....I am feeling our challenge coming out....LOL KY..thanks!!!!!!!! Love that jersey.....found it at a thrift store for a few bucks....we all know how much of a savings that is..... I had a NSV today...my daughter gave me a pair of LEI jean shorts that were too big on her last night...they sit below the waist...(didnt know I had one...) and they fit me.....they seem tight for me, but Hmm....love the size, the way they make my Butt look, and the fact that there was NO way in Hell these would of come close to getting on me a year ago....LOVE MY BAND...LOVE MY BIKE, LOVE MY FRIENDS...LOVE LIFE!!!!
  9. Judy & Pam-Great NSVs!! Congrats! Good morning everyone. I kept dd home again today. Yesterday evening she started running a low grade fever again and I would have been foolish to bring her back to the day care with a low resistance. I might just call my boss in a minute and tell him to just plan on seeing me back Monday. We both need the time to heal completely. As for me, it is just the weirdest thing. I have chills, hot cold hot cold like I have a fever, take my temp and it is normal. I just do not get it?! I mean body aches and the whole 9 yards. My temp has not gone over 100 but maybe once or twice but I feel like death waarmed over! Weird. Have a great day violets!
  10. GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!! When I woke up this morning I kind of have this ritual..... I feel my belly to see if its flatter and feel for my rib bones and then for my port.... Today I FELT thinner so I was disappointed when the scale didn't show a loss........ but for grins I tried on the NSV size 10 stretch jeans that 4 weeks ago I couldn't pull together enough to button.......... today..... they buttoned and zipped! I put the full set of before and nows up on the thread but here is your own personal version. April 1, 2007 @ 272 Feb 1, 2008 @ 196 (but really I feel like I'm 194)
  11. Good morning violets- I actually slept all night and if I had weird dreams, i don't remember them! Those Chantix pills have been making me wake up 4 times a night so last nast was a real peaceful and restful night! I really needed that. Man...it is quiet with macy gone. I know she is having a blast. The party for her 'pop' went good yesterday. I only had one small sliver of cake. OH...I forgot to tell you all something. I ate a fold over chicken salad sandwich the other day! You are probably thing....ummm, so what. Here is the deal. That is the first peice of bread I have allowed myself to eat since 04/11/07. OMG, you would have thought it was a 9 course meal. I devoured every bite! It is nice to be in control of what I stick in my pie hole!! Anyway, I am just proud of that and wanted to share it with you all. Terri-ask your ps if he has a 2 for 1 deal going on :tea: Kat-i feel so bad for you. I am praying that your tooth heals quickly! Jane-you were a woman of alot of words in your last post....are you OK? Judy-how was your concert last night? Michelle-great NSV! way to go!! Pam-are you still on your trip? Jenn-hope you are feeling better! Laura-I meant to tell you I really enjoyed the religion vs. science thing you posted on here. love loved it! Hi Haydee, Suzie, denise, TracyKS and all my other violet sistas!! Have a great Saturday!!
  12. Who is that itty bitty girl being terrorized by that giant pink pig??? oooooooooooooooooo it's MEEEEEchelle!! Cute pic! I for one am very happy in my new body and was falling into the trap of convincing myself that I could eat snacks as long as I ate little amounts. That philosophy was totally wrong and was making the pounds slowly climb up a couple of ounces at a time. sooooo I said enough is enough and I am one of the fortunate people who can actually say it and mean it. I guess that attitude comes with the extra years along with maturity and wrinkles! I have been doing really great since the beginning of this month and the NSVs along with a new excitement for exercise are helping me through this mental plateau. I really believe exercise is an extremely important key along with drinking the required amount of water. How many of you can say honestly that you get the required amount of water and exercise each day??? I am sooooooooo working on that now and I find I can't even go in the living room anymore without picking up some weights, or my stretching thingy or jumping on the elliptical. Just like when food is there, I eat it.... when the equipment is there, I do it. Hearing that Tracy can get into size 10 jeans (wooo hooo girl) makes me a little upset cause I'm 20# less than her and am in 16's and 14's, BUT, I used to be in 22/24 so I can't feel sorry for myself. And even though I'm a minister's wife, I'm still human and the looks I get from guys now are flattering, not humiliating. Course most of them are in their 70's and their eyesight ain't the best, but it's the principle of the thing, right??? Well, it's been a lazy day today. No Ethan cause his daddy is home from work. Our tax man called and we owe $250 to state, but get $1400 back from Federal. Course we won't see it cause it gets applied to our quarterly payment, but that means I don't have to pay anything but the $250 on April 15th. I already had money set aside for that so guess where that goes??!! Can we say San Antonio????? And DD Kris called to tell me she doesn't have school tomorow. The college is closed again because of the ice and that's a very, very rare occurance. She's going nuts at home alone though. She can't get out of her driveway. I'm off to look at dinner stuff. I'm fixing pepper steak in the pressure cooker. should be interesting. The Bobster has Bible study tonight and has to leave by 5:30 so I better get going. Catch ya'all later!

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

okay everyone....I had a NSV today!!!! Last month I had a pair of jeans I had bought..they were my very first button jeans bought in years. They were a size 24. I wore them to the doctor and we went and test rode bikes. I ripped them when they got caught in the derrailler. So, I went to the store to get a new pair, and they didnt have a size 24, but had a size 22. Well, I ended up buying them knowing they would not fit. I had tried them on a few times this past month, and did not fit. TODAY LADIES AND GENTS....THEY NOT ONLY FIT BUT ARE COMFY!!!!!! YES, 6 MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE GONE FROM A SIZE 30/32 TO A SIZE 22.... WTF??? WOOHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I AM SO THANKFUL TO HAVE THE FRIENDS AND SUPPORT AND THE DESIRE TO CONTINUE TO LOOSE. THE BAND HAS GIVEN ME A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON MY LIFE, AND I CANT WAIT UNTIL EVEN THESE GET TOO BIG. THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE THE MESSAGE BOARD WITH YOU TO SHARE THIS NEWS

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Well, I did it. I consumed an entire Taco Bell Naco Grande platter. By.My.Fucking.Self. No, I did not need it. No I did not need it. No I did not need it. Although, before banding I would of consumed mine plus hubbys and then some of DD and then maybe some tacos on top of that....with mexi fries and a huge ass drink. So, I guess I am still up and up from before banding. One NSV I had the other day at grocery store. I ran into an old friend and haven't seen her in about a year. She says, "looks like you lost some weight".....hell, I was happy that someone noticed.... I could of kissed her...on the mouth....with some tongue....(just kidding, just had to throw that in for you J!!, and the guys)
  15. Ay-yi-yi.........just looked at the 401K....makes my stomach sick! Good thing we don't have everything wrapped up there. Denise, I fainted once when I was pregnant! I had gone by where my ex husband worked, and we had walked behind the counter (parts dept.) and down an aisle, to talk $$$. I started seeing black dots, and woke up to every counterman in the store standing over me! Never happened again.....no idea why it did then! I had just come from lunch---which is why we were arguing money! I had spent some!!! OMG! LOL Anyway, the pregnancy advanced just fine, no other serious issues, I did end up with a tooth that give me crap the entire pregnancy, and ended up with a root canal when she was like 9 days old! Baby was fine though! Dang near 9 lbs! Hope your DD is feeling better, and that all goes well!!! Hugs! Tracy, hope Macy is feeling better tonight---how are YOU feeling? Do you think you have what she does, or are you simply exhausted? Keep us updated, you are such a good Mommy! Yes Terry you can come over and play under the tent with Kinsey and I! Yes---I sat under the table and played!!! I had to! I am the only one of us who can read she told me! Was fun, and was also a huge NSV for me. Crawling! I fit under there, and I was able to manuever around. I can't describe it, it was just fun----I loved being able to play with her under there, and not have to decline for lack of being able. Was a shame to hear about Heath Ledger. I have not heard what they suspect COD to be. Guess I will check my email and call it a night! See y'all in the morning! Hugs~~ Kat
  16. Good Morning Violets~ First late me say that I am sorry I have been a crappy Violet lately. I read everything and think of all these witty posts, then when I really have time to say anything, I forget. I don't say feel better soon, great NSV,proud of you for doing the walk, good luck w/ the PS, and all the other nice things everything you all say to each other. I am just busy, but I LOVE YOU ALL, AM PROUD OF YOU ALL, WISH ANY AILING VIOLET WELL WISHES...forgive me! We went to nephew's karate class last night! 4 year old boys...too cute! I loved it. I'll post pix as soon as I have time to get them up. OK...TGIF!!! We are going to see the movie Nights in Rodanthe today w/ a bunch of people! Then home to grade more papers! I'll pop in later from work. Friday's the kids take 2 tests...:tongue2:
  17. Boy, I'm missing my mom and dad today. Saw a little old guy at Walmart and it reminded me of my dad. Saw Michelle's post on Blueberry Buckle and it reminded me of my mom. She was a fantastic cook and baker. Her pies were to die for and her blueberry buckle was the best. It's all good though. Best to have those good memories on Mother's Day. Mom would have been 88 May 25th and Dad would have been 89 on the 20th of June. Hard to believe I'm going to be 61 next month!!!!!! But I'm so enjoying this time of my life. A lady behind me at the check out at Walmart told me how good I looked and those little NSV's carry me through. We went to Culvers for lunch and the Bobster and I split a chicken dinner. Note to self... do NOT start the meal eating their rolls cause even though they are delish, nothing after that will go down. Ended up PBing twice and DD gets so huffy at me when I do that. She's right though. I should know by now!! Off to fix the potato salad, deviled eggs and macaroni/chicken salad for the graduation party tomorrow.
  18. I think I need a hip replacement. Last night we had the next door neighbors over along with their in-laws and a few other friends. It's Mike last weekend here. He leaves for Kosovo on Monday and will be gone a whole year. We decided to have a real nice get together for him and spend as much time as we could. So off to the store I went and spent about a hundred dollars on food. We ended up having a shrimp fry and boil. OMGoodnes. It was absolutely delicious. I mean better than and restaurant I've been too. So afterwards we go over to their house to play Wii. Here lies my problem. I think I threw my hip out playing bowling. We had such a good time and spent 2 hours laughing like crazy. Now I need to go figure out how to do a workout today so I can burn off the 10 shrimp I managed to get down last night. When is Tracy supposed to be back from her Honeymoon? Michelle, congrats on the NSV. That was awesome. Everyone have a great day.
  19. awe shucks........... :Banane37: Have a great day everyone....... oh and my neice said I could have the pair of jeans I wore of hers.. she said cause she didn't like them! LOL what a great NSV!!!!!
  20. Wow, Laura -- what an adventure! But glad it was fun & congrats on the NSV!! Thanks for the info, kat... that sounds reasonable... if all goes well, I'd guesstimate I'll be 225-range sometime March-ish... maybe that can be my -100 goal "prize" to myself!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

I found out the other day I can get an AA in Liberal Arts if I take 3 more classes. 3 specific ones I need. The college is in New Mexico, so I called and they told me I can do distance learning for those classes. Sounds good, right? So I log in today (registration day) and go to sign up.. they're all full! BAH HUM BUG!!!!!!! I've been hitting 'retry' and re-logging in every 15 minutes (that's when it boots you) waiting to see one damn person drop each of these classes. I don't need the AA, but hell if it only costs 600 bucks to get it, it'll look better on my resume, in case CD's and DVD's become obsolete (which is what it feels like we're getting to). I'm at work and I have major upset stomache.. dunno why.. it hurts, I feel like I got diarhea, but my body will not let me go in public, so it's going to be a loooong day. I did quote a big job coming in soon though, for Nokia (or Nikon) I always get those confused, cameras. Oh my poor stomache. Sounds like everyone's doing good.. love the pic of you ladies together, wish 3 of ya'll lived here so we could do that!! When I came into work this morning, my mom and an accountant were outside smoking and my mom said "Someone looks skinny today" and the accountant said "Someone sure does!". I'm wearing my Cirque du Soleil shirt-- which was an NSV I don't know if I mentioned. We saw the Beatles LOVE Cirque while in Vegas (awesome, awesome).. and I refuse to wear men's t-shirts.. I don't like the unflattering-ness of big baggy tees. But of course in most the world 'women tees' are for the anorexic. So in the junior/womens tees, I can only get them if they run 4-5x. They only had up to 2x.. so I got one I liked in 2x, which is like a damn medium in my brain.. for 'when I lose the weight'. It ends up I can wear it! It is fitted, but not bad fitted where I'm stretching it or looks bad. So, I'm wearing that and some black bell bottoms.. and it makes me look skinny. SCORE! Oh god my tummy..

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Thanks Laura! Oh man ... your cakes sound delicious.... and since I've just had soup for the last 24 hours I would DEFINATELY consider your post FOOD PORN! LOL Get those NSV jeans out and try them on and then I WANT A PIC Missy and Lisa: I am going to TRY and make it to the September Bandwagon.. we will be in Branson for the August one.. maybe I'll see you all there???? Where is Terry???? I WORKED OUT TODAY and I WANT HER TO KNOW IT! Pam: It's getting closer to Thursday and the Cape! and BTW .. where IS THE PIC OF YOU COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET!!!!! Set the self timer and make a goofy face (I do it all the time) :scales: Last night I was doing my weekly NSV jean try on session and since I'm in most my size 16W I decided to try the 14W's and here is the NSV.. I got them up over my butt!!!!!!! woooohooooo! but there was no amount of sucking and stuffing that would make them button over my gut!..... NOW THAT would be a progress picture!!!!!!!!!!! because ladies I am making a goal that I WILL be in them by my birthday 10/04 even if I have to have the superpowered spankx and a crane to get them zipped!
  23. Good morning girlies! Kinsey and I just finished Breakfast, 3 pieces of bacon and an egg. I lost teh damned 1/2 pound that I complained would not budge, so I am going to continue to try this, I will take 1/2 pound at a time if that is how it is going to be now!!! Lets see NSV's have been plentiful this week! I volunteered for this rodeo when it was here last which was 4 years ago, and 6 years ago. Many of the vendors, and several families are the same (younger siblings), they have been jaw drop shocked a few times. It always makes me have a high/low emotional response. I am happy they think I look better now, but their shock makes me realize what a horror I must have been then! Anyway---- I am back on a horse for this rodeo, I have even run the barrels just for old times sake--- I played volleyball, and did not feel the least bit self concious --like Tracy's bathing suit! I have willingly posed for pics with some of the kids. I tried on and bought clothes at the trade shows. I wore a vest! I would never before, because the belly hanging under it was disgusting! I can see my own belt buckle! It has been an exhausting week, but I am able to keep up! I can load my own horse, do my own "work" Rick is not prepping everything for me this time around. I actually caught a couple of young (17) guys checking out my cleavage! Oh yeah they check out ANY cleavage!!! But 4 years ago, they would not have looked past the extra weight to even realize I had boobs! I danced with the program director, and was not overly stressed by it----although like the boys above 4 years ago, I totally believe he would never have ask! I mean there are 800 volunteers---so it would not have been any big deal to skipped over me! Like I say this has been an eye opening week, at how much more I can and DO do. (yep I said doo doo!!) I feel humbled at the enormity of change in my life. I include the discovery of such good friends in those changes. You have made a huge difference in this happening! Laura, I am sorry you are going through this with your sister---I know back when my brother was drinking, it was really hard. Not just to watch what he was doing to himself, but what his problems did to our parents, they just wilted with stress and worry, and fear for his life and hoping he did not kill someone else in the spiral down. Nothing seemed to help. Finally he sobered up, and has been sober now for almost 10 years. Hope your sister can do as well. Rick's field crew had problems last night and called him no less than 8 times, led to a rough nights sleep---for both of us! Well I am going to go to the store and restock Abbey's bedside basket, and then head to the fairgrounds. The morning show begins at 9---but some of the rodeo events Kinsey HATES! Goat tying, calf roping, she actually cried over them! So I plan to hit it for the barrel racing, pole bending, and bronc riding----so I better get my butt in gear!! Talk to y'all this afternoon. More basketball, so I am free!!! Also a family small bore rifle competition--------not involved there either!!! Kat
  24. Morning gals What a weekend, worked the entire thing, my body hurts in places I forgot I had, it has been a long time since I worked like this, or so it seems. Went out sat night after work, have still been on liquids and only had 2 drinks, thank goodness they were not strong. I had on a pr of jeans, my fav big flip flops and a black halter top, (that was how I went to work -flip flops) NSV a friend was hanging all over me, not really in that sense but kept telling me how amazing I looked and that there was something different about me. (with a big smile) Yesterday, I took dd shopping for her great report card and got her some new clothes and me a new halter top, skirt and water shoes from Target and sundress from Walmart. The skirt was a 16 which I'm ok with because I could never wear target skirts at all but the dress...it was a size 14!!!! I cannot remember the last time I was in a 14, the green one was my favorite but the zipper was broken at the bottom so I sent dd out to get the brown one, she was mia forever so i opened the door and walked out... The young girls at the desk were like OMG you look great in that ... not many people can wear that style and not look pregnant, which was what I was afraid of. Then I put the brown one on and got dd's opinion and then went back out to the girls. 1 loved the brown (so did dd) and the other (and me) liked the green. So I got the brown because the zipper was ok. I guess the brown one makes my itty bitties look bigger too (so i was told) And... down another lb today to boot, I'm now -2 for the contest and 1 more and i can change my ticker again. I raised it a couple the other day when it was telling me i was a loser for not changing it in 80 days. LOL Rainy and cold here, so ds and I are just going to hang today, he planted with gram yesterday went to bed at 10 and is up already, it is going to be a long day!

Sorry Michelle -- I have NO NSV for you today. I weighed 183.4 this morning and not feeling too keen about it. I AM happy for you, however!! Back when I was skinny (after Atkins and 158#), DH and I used to play tennis. I loved it! Go with it and have fun!!
